Stevens Pass is one of a few local resorts near home - but, compared particularly to Snoqualmie Pass, its primary competition in the "close enough to Seattle to be my regular mountain" competition, Stevens has a few major perks: It's typically somewhat less busy, the runs are generally better, the snow is often better (due to fewer people), and unlike Snoqualmie, the whole resort is accessible by chairlift only (Snoqualmie has crossovers which are fairly challenging - I don't count those).

The food is expensive and lift tickets are a little bonkers - but that's just kind of true about the sport. Come up on a weekday when you want to get the most bang for your buck - the mountain will be almost empty and the tickets are cheaper, to boot.
