Stunning modern luxury hotel and spa with world class gym facilities
Excellent hotel. Staff are tremendous, totally getting what service is all about. The quality of the food was good, but not as fab as the service. The spa and pool were great.
Lovely resort with clean great facilities and most helpful / friendly staff I have ever experienced. Would definately reccomend. Only down point is the the construction work being carried out next door ruins the sea view.
Great amenities, friendly staff and lovely food, would definitely recommend!
#Resort # porto Beautiful resort in Falmouth overlooking one of its beaches
Pros: Nice location, right by beach. Good restaurant and bar with sea views. Excellent gym, pool, sauna, steam room, tennis courts. Friendly staff.
Cons: No air conditioning in room or fans therefore had to open windows which meant we had constant seagull screams in the mornings around 4/5am. Didn't get a decent night's sleep without ear plugs or white noise. Very cramped and small car park. Lucky to get a space. Not many vegetarian options on the menu. Small cramped room for the price we paid.
Wonderfully stylish seaside vibe, great spa and terrific gym, especially for rowers.
4 star hotel, really? It s dirty with frayed dirty carpeting...seedy. There is landscape debris and junk everywhere. So tempted to ask for broom. Our terrace is shared with other people and is filthy. Our sea view has a large electrical wire running across it and looks over the parking lot. Don t believe the pictures you see on their website.
I m not sure why I m even giving them two stars. Wish I could post pictures here. Will post some on trip advisor if you want to check that out.
Beautiful place nice bedrooms beautiful meal need a bit of change on breakfast serving bit either than that its superb
Comfortable high quality bedrooms and dining areas. Friendly warm and attentive staff. Unfortunately poor on vegan provision - we have to ask every time we come to eat. Our second year here. We have had a great time.
Not all it makes out to be, had to book in at a normal table and had the pleasure of having to wait 20 minutes to do that, then they gave me the wrong room. Don't get me started on the breakfast! Kept all the bread in the hot cabinet resulting in it being rock hard, and mess around the server. Very very disappointed, I'm not too fussy and wouldn't give a bad review just for the sake of it because I know how hard it can be to get everything right. However I do have a lot of experience plus a university degree in Hospitality Management.
The rooms were clean the staff were very kind apart from the fact the we didn't even get a good bye, would I go back again? For somewhere to sleep and a bite to eat yes I would, for a special occasion absolutely no.
Amazing hotel, location, facilities and staff. 10/10 on all counts
Class ... Full of little attentions and a remarkable location, a stone's throw from an award-winning park and the seaside.
Our favourite place for mini staycations, my daughter and I love it. Fabulous experience. We try to visit at least 3 times a year....
I really enjoyed my stay here and the Spa is really top notch. The only thing letting it down was the room temp and corridor just immediately outside was over 30c and they even had 2 fans in there before check in. The rest of the facilities temp was fine.
Paradise, if you are reading this review you are probably looking to book a room here well from my humble opinion the service and facilities at the st Michaels resort is superb. Everything was very new and the decor / finish in the hotel is at a very high quality with no corners cut at all and the service was impeccable. It s a perfect place to stay in Falmouth as the beach is 1 minute walk away and there are lots of gardens to explore. Our view from our Patio was fantastic and Picturesque so please take my experience in to consideration if you book to stay with this hotel you won t be disappointed at all.
Disappointed. Building blocks the sea views. Breakfast is precooked so could be better. Not worth the prices
The spa was lovely, very clean, lots of attention to detail and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, then we had afternoon tea, what a let down, after waiting 40 mins with no explanation we asked why it was taking so long, then to be told there was a wedding on, the chef was very busy and they like to make fresh scones, another party had arrived and they sat down near to us, after 10 mins their afternoon tea arrived, ours still hadn't, we were then told its on its way, 5 mins later it arrived, definitely not fresh, the scones were hard and when i opened one up it was stodgy, we complained again and were brought out some more and told they were fresh, maybe fresh out of the freezer, but definitely not freshly baked, it ruined the experience and wont be going back, the staff and managers need to look at their customer service, and re-train.
A real treat. We stayed in the Captains House looking straight out to sea, because we had our 2 dogs with us. They provided dog bed bowls towels and blankets. Huge room, ensuite. Beautifully decorated, as was the whole hotel. We had an outside area too.
We treated ourselves to a spa day. Best facility. New and sparkling clean. Absolutely wonderful. Hot tub out in the terrace along with sauna cabin with glass front looking out to sea. The Finnish sauna inside and the steam rooms are fantastic. Ice bucket challenge a must. Staff are wonderful. Reflexology was amazing. The hotel with its views and great restaurant is special. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend St Michael's.
Amazing food in a beautiful hotel. Very friendly and attentive members of staff. Highly recommend
Lovely location on Gyllingvase beach with great views. The rooms are lovely too, especially in the new Beach House. Francesca and her team couldn't have been more helpful in sorting out the accommodation for about 60 people following a wedding too. And breakfast was tasty and very filling! We'll be back for a stay for sure.
Slightly over the top 'helpful' staff (verges into being condescending) however cannot fault my stay otherwise. Comfy room and excellent breakfast in fine surroundings.
Excellent, facilities were amaz ing & the view was breath taking x
We had a wonderful stay, the room was immaculate and staff were pleasant and helpful, highly recommend staying here.
Got asked to leave our room at midnight and to change rooms
Because we had a baby
Who at that point was sleeping
They assigned our room so why should having a baby and a quiet one at that be an issue
We packed our bags and left because we were asked to move / leave after midnight
Worst !
Service !
Ever !
If i fon t have rectification from management in the morning I will be disgusted and sharing this
I am so angry
Who asks a young family with a 9 month old baby to leave their room after midnight????!!!
DISGUSTING
We went to St Michaels Resort for a mini honeymoon after luckily being able to get married the Saturday before and although disappointed to not be in Florida and New York as planned, St Michaels Resort did everything to make our stay special. It is by far the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in and I've stayed at the Beverly Hills in Hollywood. The staff are incredible and made us feel so special. Our room was out of this world and the spa and hydrothermal pool is a must do! Best massage and facial ever! They even spoilt us with a free glass of bubbly!
We loved our stay so much we've booked a weekend stay again in March for my birthday.
Counting down the days until we're back there!
Definitely go visit! You won't be disappointed!
Was there on business. First time going down to Cornwall. Completely blown away by the service. I would highly recommend staying absolutely fantastic!
Bright, very friendly. Will definitely return. Very dog friendly.
Great location for a relax weekend, it was my 3rd time here, very friendly staff, great spa and right on the coast which is stunning.
The one star ratings are entirely because of the dreadful noise from the building site right next door, which we weren't told about when booking. If we had been told, we certainly would have gone elsewhere. To be woken at 8am by drills and pile drivers etc when on holiday is totally unacceptable. Whilst in our room (the weather was hot) the air conditioning wouldn't go down below 16c and we couldn't open the balcony doors because of the noise. We had intended a relaxing few days around the hotel, with little driving but, we had to leave the hotel during working hours.
I do feel sorry for the hotel because just about everything else was lovely and, other than closing for the duration of the exterior building works, there's not a lot they can do - BUT, they should warn people before taking a booking. If you're intending using the hotel as a base and going out early every day, then it's probably fine.
The duty manager did reduce our bill when we complained.
Guys, I hope the building works finish ahead of plan!!
Really nice hotel, clean and comfortable rooms and the staff were very friendly
Amazing spa; helpful, friendly staff; fantastic food.
Helpful, pleasant staff, nice sized rooms would book again
My wife is writing this. She really enjoyed her meal. We had both decided never to have fish & chips again, after too many far too greasy meals. This however, was cooked beautifully & not at all greasy. Although the Eton Mess dessert was not what we thought of as Eton Mess, the chocolate tart & sticky toffee pudding were delicious. Booked at short notice. Staff very pleasant, attentive & well trained. Overall a delightful evening :)
Visited to use their pool which has a jacquzi built-in section, steamer and sauna. Was great value and relatively quiet in the early afternoon before it started to get quite busy. Absolutely every facility is here, including showers before, during and after, toilets, secure lockers, hairdryers, seating areas and vending machine for snacks/drinks.
The hotel it s amazing, the views are beautiful and rooms very comfortable. Breakfast was really nice and there is a lovely lady serving at that time of the day - I think her name is Emma- she made our day. The only reason I am not given this place 5 stars it s because we made the mistake of asking for a dinner table on a particularly busy night -we had no idea it was a busy day at Falmouth as we are not locals- the gentleman at the front desk of the restaurant was a rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Which is a shame because the majority of the staff was very kind and caring
Very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff excellent food
Fabulous food, great location, lovely staff. Would of been a 5 if not for the slightly toooo long wait. Will definitely eat here again soon :-)
Nice hotel nothing bad to say about it but def overpriced. Not sure this is specific to the hotel but it seems to be the norm on Cornwall. You have to pay a premium of an otherwise standard service.
Brilliant staff super nothing to much trouble can not wait to return
I always enjoy eating in the hotel on my annual visit to Cornwall in March. Choice of menu is excellent and price more than acceptable. Very busy on this occasion but did not feel cramped. Friends joined me for their first time and you didn't let me down.
Staff are excellent here. Nice cafe/bar/restaurant with outside terrace. Small but we'll equipped gym. Pool/sauna/Jacuzzi great. Close to beach. Idealic.
Lovely individual hotel. Excellent breakfast. Liked the room, although the bed was a bit hard. Parking is a bit limited. Will be better once the building work is done.
A brand new set up. Renovations did not effect my stay. A comfy bed and a nice room. Very helpful staff with a tasty dinner and breakfast.the dining room has a super view of the ocean.Great value for money(I will stay there again) A small down side was the current size of the car park due to the popularity of the Spa and building work. The parking is well sign posted from the main road
Fantastic location. Great hotel. Bar area and Garden kitchen very beautiful. Very friendly staff. Pot of tea gives you 3 cups of tea. Hood service, clean toilets and properly managed for Covid
Amazing place to stay with lovely food and stunning spa facilities
Had a lovely stay despite building work. Room was clean
Very nice seaside resort with friendly service and lovely interior design. Restaurant has nice sea view. Leisure Center with the swimming pool is nice and clean. Very refreshing. 2 min walking distance to the beach where you can hire a SUP or simply relax and have a good time.
couldn t fault a thing we had a meal here for a birthday of 30 people starters mains and desserts the service was excellent the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant a big shout out to chris on reception you were a star with the very expensive flip flops
Lovely hotel let down by numerous little annoyances
Excellent spa . Staff very helpful and good with advice on how to use spa. Only problem our room 28 although very tastefully decorated it was far to hot and no way to turn off heating , also being picky here but pillows were very hard so not a great nights sleep shame.
Fantastic place for a short break especially for dog owners.
Rooms are nice and have a consistent nautical theme. Beds comfy and has all the essential amenities in the rooms. Staff where great and the managers where hands on helping out staff teams to ensure all running smoothly during service hours which was a nice touch. Shame there was no air-conditioning in the rooms and because back patio is partially communal I couldn't have windows open due to smell of cigarettes.
Lovely resort and facilities. Room on the small side compared to what we had at Llewinnick Lodge Newquay.
Breakfast is a pretty good standard considering it's a buffet. Not tried the restuarant for evening meals as yet. The bar is more than adequate. The health club very good indeed.
What spoils things totally is the building work taking place, literally no more than 10 metres from where I sit on our balcony, with workmen looking across at you. Unfortunately there was no mention of the building work when we booked directly and am unable to find any mention of it on the website. This may well have affected our decision to stay, especially not knowing the layout.
When on holiday one wants to relax and I feel where our room is located it is not easy to do this. Also being woken at 8am by hammering etc etc (I'm assuming they knock off at 4pm) is not the best start to the day!!
A nice Hotel/spa
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The Room was clean and well laid out.
The Bath had a shower in.
The Teas and Coffees were local Cornish brand. Also you get homemade biscuits in a jar, which was a nice touch.
Breakfast was a full English buffet and continental. All you need to start your day. Again the staff were very helpful and friendly.
We did the Spa Day for couples with the 3 hour spa session which has 2 steam rooms, 1 sauna inside and 1 outside.plus the pool with massage jets.then we had a Mud treatment which was lovely. Onto A Set Lunch and a break before our couples massage. It was from 10am till 5pm, so well worth the money.
All in all a nice weekend break.
Great staff helped to accommodate for vegan food!! Great time in Spa.
First time here, a little short staffed on arrival, no towels dressing gowns in changing rooms & had to go & ask but after that everything was amazing. Really well thought out... really relaxing massage from.Natalie & partner had Yolande. Followed by lunch with a super friendly waitress who even gave partner a lovely plate with sweet treats & happy birthday. Will definitely return & hopefully stay the night
Very nicely decorated and high end, great location. However very very expensive
Stylish, modern decor in a good location. Good choice of bedrooms. Spa and gym available. Staff are attentive and polite. Good choice for breakfast. Evening dinner was gourmet style cooking. Portions very small and typically some foods were "lightly cooked" which require an acquired taste.
Staff were frindly and helpful but the rooms were really warm (uncomfortably so)
Fantastic spa experience, luxurious surroundings and amazing facilities. Spa lunch lovely but not especially speedy service if you have to get away on time for the school run!
Wonderful restaurant, lovely rooms with a fantastic view and top class spa
Beautiful setting good breakfast small room but nice and clean, nice bar friendly staff, needs separate late bar area for parties though as guest bit funny!
This hotel had great facilities, gym, swimming pool, spa and our room was great bathroom was lovely. Falmouth is a lovely place to visit. Unfortunately the food in the hotel was a real let down. Breakfast buffet was very poor no better than a Holiday Inn, considering this hotel was a lot more expensive than Holiday Inn you'd expect a lot better. Everybody had to make their own toast on a very poor toaster which made queuing for breakfast quiet and comfortable. Our evening meal came out cold, was far too small and my cheese board that was served on a plate with very little imagination or cheese but also came with some plastic still stuck to it. I think this hotel could do much much better with the food, we was so disappointed, as eating out is always a big part of our holiday, we enjoy our food very much and this was very disappointing especially when it wasn't cheap. If this hotel could bring the food up to a match high standards of the facilities, then I would visit again.
Really nice food , decor and service. The views are awesome
