My parents have booked all the family in for the night of Sept 7th to celebrate my graduation.
I would like to say what great service my fellow students and I have had when we have many times popped in for a drink at the St`Michael's Hotel & Spa
I have always found the staff polite and helpful and the restaurant is excellent place to dine and the hotel and the facilities are excellent.
I am looking forward to my big day and one final big blast before I leave the lovely place of Falmouth that I lived at for the last 4 years and would definitely recommend this hotel to all possible new students and families to stay at when visiting Falmouth now and in the future.

Lovely setting and nice decor. First room smelt strongly of urine, moved to a second and that had occasional odours - we can only assume problems with drains!? Swimming pool is lovely but the changing rooms shabby. Spa overcharged.

We stayed during a Christmas party night- so only the garden kitchen restaurant was open - however we were not disappointed. The baked camembert was fabulous and the pizzas excellent. We were a disappointed to learn that the spa which is advertised on the website actually charges an extra fee per person- this could be made.more clear. However there was a health centre across the car park, the gym was great and had good equipment and facilities, the spa area itself was very busy and the pool a little cool. Too many people trying to squeeze into the sauna and steam room so we didn't stay long. The breakfast buffet was disappointing and many items were not frequently replenished. The room was small but had good tea and coffee selections. The shampoo and conditioner had both run out. This was the most frustrating as I didn't find out until I was mid-shower. I didn't have any of my own products as I expect hotels of this standard to provide good quality items. I won't rush back.

Poor insulation between rooms, so it's quite noisy from neighbours and outside. Restaurant and spa are open to locals that means it's always busy. Telephone isn't working in room, reception seems not bothering about it.

Lovely hotel, in a nice part of Falmouth. We only popped in for drinks with a guest. The bar and restaurant are very nice. The staff where helpful and the drinks where very nice too. I spoke to another guest who recommended the spa days to local residents.

Levellers tour spent 3 nights here. Room and service were excellent as was the breakfast which was really welcomed.

Evening meal times were disappointing though - we were unable to book a table on any of the evenings we stayed, service started late. Meaning for those playing in or attending the concerts were limited to a snack menu was unappealing and the same for all three days.

When seated in the dinning-room for our lunch, all the doors were left wide open. Considering we were sat in robes and had soaking wet hair both of us were freezing!!

I felt uncomfortable in the dinning area as people that weren t from the spa were in there and I was sat in a dressing gown and soaking wet hair. Then there was also a dog sat behind us the was barking constantly. I don t expect my spa day to include a meal in a cold loud place. The Meal itself was very very poor. Especially compared to ones I have eaten at different spa day s at the same price range. We had to ask for more bread because we were served 5 pieces between two hungry people!

Drinks took ages to get to us and could see the bar staff all stood around the bar end talking to each other while stood with our prepared drink. Lady s on table next to us also complained because of how slow the service was. Then after realising the meal didn t even include a starter or desert we ordered two different cakes. They were a disappointment yet again we didn t even eat them. The cake was like a brick and had no flavour to it Either.

Finally we had booked a facial for both of us and we both got two completely different treatments. That were timed so badly I didn t see my partner all day even though it stated on a couple spa day?

Would not recommend to anyone!

I can imagine it used to be a beautiful resort. Relaxing, therapeutic, a break from city life. This is not the case and will not be for atleast another year. We paid for a balcony room which I could literally speak to the builders on the site 20 feet away. The sea view completely ruined, oh and forget the wake up call, the sound of drilling at 6-7am should do perfectly. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING. If you'd like to visit this hotel, wait for construction to finish. The builders have a perfect view of you dipping in the hot tub. The staff are very polite, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for it. I returned to my car to find a cigarette burnt out on the roof, presumably thrown from the building site.

My friend and I had booked for a cream tea. The service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. I thoroughly recommend it BUT the scones had obviously been left in the oven for too long.

Came here for my birthday, it was fine. My friend got charged for something that was already paid for and the facilities were typical of any spa/ hotel. The massage was lovely however, very much enjoyed. The staff at the restaurant were not very attentive at all and there was a long wait for service. All in all though it was a very nice day.

My mother and I enjoyed a Spa Day a couple of week...

My mother and I enjoyed a Spa Day a couple of weeks back with lunch. The resort was very nice, well kept and clean and staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish.
The Spa is very nice and I think they are working well to keep numbers low so guests can enjoy the facilities however it is very much led by the guests as to how fairly this sharing is occurring!
The outside Swedish hot tub is very popular - I would hazard its because it is actually hot - but you can only fit one party in at a time. I wonder if this continues if it might be an idea to install a second hot tub for guests to enjoy.
Personally I found the hydro pool to be really quite cold. Maybe if this was hotter, guests would be happier sat in the bubbles of the hydro pool! This obviously may not be the point of the hydro pool but I do still feel it was really quite cold and its difficult to relax or lie still in colder water.
It would be nice if you could also enjoy the swimming pool as part of the spa day.
You are supplied with nice warm gowns, flip flops (which are yours to keep after) and towels. The changing rooms have lovely facilities with powerful showers, cleansing products for your face, hairdryers and straighteners.
When you're in the spa you can order drinks from a little bar to enjoy in the spa too - iced water is constantly refreshed for you to help yourself.
After our visit we had lunch in the restaurant above the spa. The choice was very limited to three platters which were essentially meat, fish and vegetarian. We chose vegetarian which was very nice but I feel there could have been less pickled cold things and maybe more bread. The cornish cheese selection was excellent though, very enjoyable and moreish!
Ideally I'd like to mark the resort 3.5 stars as 3 seems low but 4 slightly too high. We did enjoy ourselves but I feel that was more the company than the venue. Maybe without covid restrictions it would be more enjoyable as most of the day was spent looking to see if you could move on to the next experience within the spa (steam room, hot tub etc) and then feeling a bit gutted if someone whipped in there before you!

Positive:

Positive:
- Nice, friendly staff
- Clean rooms
- Good, to very good food in the restaurant
- Great location of the restaurant (view of Gyllingvase Beach / Bay)
- Beautiful maritime decoration
Negative:
- Construction site here and there (April 2018)
- Pool in the neighboring house a bit awkward (part of the Fittnes and Spa) with little relaxation possibilities (2 beach chairs) - only for swimming, with kids not so ideal
- Restaurant a bit chaotic (all do everything) - so everything can take a bit

Wasnt as impressed as I thought I would be. I used to to attend another gym with spa n although the gym wasnt as good as St Michaels the rest of it was better and almost half the monthly fee. The pool is too narrow so you feel crowded and as for the non existent hot tub !! I think an attempt at one is part of the pool but the jets are too hard and you sit there freezing. Need to do away with that and build a separate hot tub. There is a small pool that I have no idea what its for. !! Turn that into a hot tub. Gyms very good but I was disappointed in the spa n pool n two areas with changing rooms is crazy. Just one with access to gym and pool would be better. Wouldnt join again sorry.

We stayed in mid-October. It was pretty chilly, yet there was no heating on in the bedrooms. They had supplied us with an electric fire in the bedroom, and when we said the bathroom would be unusable due to the cold, another electric fire was supplied which had a trailing lead plugged into a socket in the bedroom. Is that a safe practice? Why not turn the central heating on? For such an expensive hotel, this was very poor.

A gorgeous hotel in a stunning location. I've photographed a couple of weddings at this venue and the grounds make it really easy to get that stunning photo. The food has always been great too.

A refusal to except our 20% vouchers off our meal at the flying fish, just because we had not handed them in when we had the meal and not with the payment at the end of our stay left a very poor feeling at the end our very special break. I only had these vouchers as a friend had been given them as way of an apology for a similar "sorry computer says no" attitude. Obviously they have not learnt from their past mistakes.

I walked in off the street.

I walked in off the street.
The pleasant chap there said a lady would be down shortly to book me in.
No problem I said I'll go and have a drink in the bar, which I duly did.

Half an hour later and I'm still waiting.
I can't comment on how good or bad the hotel is as I didn't get to find out!

All I can say is. They didn't seem overly bothered whether I stayed there or not.

I have now found another hotel which I was booked in straight away by a very happy young lady. I will report on this hotel tomorrow.

Be careful purchasing vouchers for others as they repeatedly struggle to look them up on the system. Depending on who you get on the phone they can be a bit obstructive. The experience itself I am told is good. But personally will not be buying from them again.
