You won t find better internet or service in this valley. I work from home as an online educator and the service has never failed me. Working over 40 hours a week online, streaming tv shows for the kiddos and monitoring how I will win my Fantasy Football league on my mobile device is a daily occurrence and the internet connectivity never drops below it s claimed high speed. The service is well above most large city standards and the customer service is a ten star. You won t run into someone passing the buck when a problem or question arises. They work fast to find resolution. Folks, this is the real deal of internet!

Providing quality telephone and internet service is not easy, especially in rural areas. I have dealt with Comcast/Xfinity for years. Call centers are overseas and if I ever had to go to their local office I would either have to show up two hours before they opened or wait in line for hours. South Central's employees care. I know the local technician in my town and he will assist even when not working to resolve my service issues. I feel lucky have have a company with a personal touch that cares about my little town and the people in it.
The employee Bill, assisted me, he was clear, easy to understand and pleasant to talk to, he was friendly and professional. He was able to help me with my issue as well as inform me how to avoid the issue in the future.
South central communications charged me 20$ a month extra for 2 years on my bill for an extra phone that was "accidentally added to my account" without my approval. After I found out I had been paying extra for 2 years, they said they would only pay 3 months of it. When I said no you should pay me back the whole amount because you messed up. They said it was my fault for not noticing it. Wow you stole my money and its my fault that I didnt notice you stole my money so you cant pay me back, That makes sense. They eventually settled on paying me back a year worth not the full 2 years. Stay clear of this immoral company. And just to see if they truly " care about there communities and customers" if they call me and do what everyone would know is the right thing to do which is give me all the money they wrongly took away from me. I will gladly change this review to a good review.
The strength is always weak. The internet cuts out when trying to work. Called South Central verious tines. The response is that they will be correcting the problem in one month. 8 months later nothing has changed
I can't even start. Their customer service & techs are friendly but that is the extent of it. I have never been so frustrated and disappointed with a company experience in so many ways.
Everything about the installation of fiber from South Central was wonderful. Brett and Trevor arrived exactly on time and worked diligently to get the fiber installed and to make sure that we understood exactly what was going on. They even went the extra, extra mile to explain to us the significance of direct ethernet to our TV. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, and removed their shoes in our new house. If I could give more than five stars, I would.
Always a great connection speed. Wifi temporarily and briefly stopped broadcasting and Angus with tech support had the problem identified and solved within minutes.
The customer service is out of this world! We were helped right away and with such gusto! They helped us solve our problem right away and got everything squared away. They are such much nicer than our last provider.
Yes, it does cost more than what we paid back East, but there are no other options available. However, thankfully, we have good internet, good customer service and are very pleased with them. People usually only post when something is bad. I wanted to do when something was good!

South Central always gives support when needed and in a timely fashion. Another great thing is they are always giving back to the community. So appreciative of their service.
Worst internet ever! They raised our bill $10 without warning. I never authorized you to charge my card $73.50 for incredibly slow internet that is out 99.99% of the time. If you have other options DO NOT go with SCC. Save the frustration and your money and look elsewhere. We will definitely be looking at other options here in Page and so will the majority of other people I know. SCC is a joke who rob people of their money.
It's very bad (like pull your hair out and yell the f word bad), but it's the only option. The customer service group is friendly and appears helpful and engaged, but the actions they take never seem to improve the problems with our internet. I've had techs come out 3 times now and we're still having problems. I would also be very cautious with trusting all of these recent 5 star reviews within the last few months. I wouldn't put it past this company to pay friends/family members to go on and leave positive reviews to boost/skew their Google rating!

South Central Communications has the best Internet service hands down. I was just in Illinois and in a town of 50K had poor internet. I think sometimes we don't know how good we have it! It was a good reminder, but oh so painful! Glad to be back where I can rely on such a great network to be able to enjoy entertainment and do business!
never been good have the best wifi you offer and still does not work. Have over 700 ping daily if you are looking for a internet provider stay away from them.
A good question to ask yourself when running a technology company is: does a 20-year-old history major know more about the technology required to run this company effectively than the technicians hired to fix said technology?
If the answer is yes, it's time to rethink the line of business you're in. So, South Central, it's time to rethink the line of business you're in.
Here's a few things to consider before signing up with South Central:
1. If it's raining you don't have service, at all. That's just a fact you'll have to adjust to. As a matter of fact, if it's snowing, windy, or really anything other than sunny and 60 degrees, you don't have service.
2. You might as well just get the 5mbps speed, lord knows you won't get anything faster than that, no matter what you're paying for.
3. Do not try to run anything more heavy duty than an iPad on your wireless network, unless you're dying to re-live the late 90s and really want dial-up speeds back.
4. Forget about hooking any gaming system up to their network. Now I know this one's a little bit of a niche but their systems can't handle this, apparently. We pay for their version of top of the line internet because I am a beta tester for a couple of gaming studios and also have a Twitch streaming channel, or I used to. Now, our wi-fi goes out every 5 minutes like clockwork.
5. "But Skylar," you cry. "You can just hook a hard line up to your router, then you don't have to worry about wi-fi fluctuations." To which I must respond, congratulations, you know more about this stuff than everyone at South Central. I would love to be able to do this, however, and I feel this needs it's own point, that's simply not possible because:
6. The techs installing "fiber optic" cables (there's a good amount of debate as to whether those are actually fiber cables but I won't go in to that), decided to install our router in our garage, on the opposite end of the house from where any device needing the internet is. Because THAT'S intelligent.
7. Which brings me to customer service: we called immediately after they ran the cables to our house and asked what they were thinking, our garage isn't temperature controlled, we can't get any connection on our computers, and no one asked us where we'd like our router to be. The woman we spoke to tried to tell me they always put routers in garages, that's the best place for them. I can't even count how many ways that's wrong but that's a very good summary of how talking to anyone in customer service there goes. The woman goes on to tell us a technician will be contacting us to set up an appointment shortly. Three weeks pass and we hear from no one. So we call again, get a different woman who tells us the same thing, and begin waiting all over again. Three more weeks pass. We call one final time, the first woman tells us it's the technician's fault not hers, and she sets up an appointment for us. (why she couldn't do that the first time, I don't know) The technician arrives and... there's no kind way to put this... has no clue what he's doing. "We'll hook up a TPlink," he says. YES because those are SO GOOD and work SO WELL.
So well in fact every 90 minutes, to the second, the wi-fi goes out and we have to go unplug everything and plug it back in.
And yes, we were charged for their mistake. It's not cheap to be given awful service.
TL;DR: almost a year of trying to get working wifi and it's still garbage AND we're down like $500 for equipment we wouldn't have needed if they'd done their job right the first time.
An overall TL;DR: South Central has to be a scam. There's no way they can be this terrible on accident. The ancient dead guys I study all day know more about modern technology than the people at South Central. If you have other options, TAKE THEM, literally anyone is better than this. If you, like me, live in the Kanab area and they're you're only option, my condolences, but at least we're all in this together.
I spoke to several different people when I called to set up internet for the first time. Each person was amazingly polite and went Above and beyond to be helpful. I have always thought that customer service should be #1 For any service industry, and South Central Has nailed it! It was very much appreciated Since I am new to the area.
Kelsey spent 45 minutes with us troubleshooting. Was so kind, knowledgeable and finally got us up and running despite needing to update our modem and splitter.
I had a problem with my email program yesterday which I couldn't fix myself so I called tech support and Caelan Griffith was able to quickly solve the issue. Over the years anytime I have had a problem with my computer the tech support people at South Central have been able to help me solve the problem. I can't say enough good about them.

We recently had fiber optics internet installed at our home. The installers were great and did a fantastic job setting up our internet. We are very pleased with the service and speed of the internet. We have had no problems with South Central.
Since day one we have had great internet service with South Central (about 3 years now). The two times we needed help from their tech department they were quick to respond and went above the call of duty. When our price went up unexpectedly we contacted the office by email and didn't get a response, but when we called the office our issue was immediately resolved.
The personnel and their responses are great! I'd rate at 6 stars if I could! The price of their service is high, but the customer density ratio is so low compared to a large city.... that's just the facts of living in a rural home and the infrastructure expense sharing with a limited number of customers.
They were able to install my equipment and overcome problems that Cox could not.
I want to express my appreciation for the excellent customer service that we've received with South Central Communication. Ebbi Lu has been great at getting our needs met and educating us on what would benefit our family as far as services go. When our internet went down, South Central's team was quick to respond and helped us to recognize that the problem was simply that our modem was old and had worn out. We appreciate Ebbi, Monica, Mike, and Kevin who have been there for us with friendly attitudes, speedy answers, and quick follow up when needed. I would recommend South Central to anyone!
The company went out of their way to make sure we had installation done in a timely manner. My experience with their tech support so far has been excellent!
Unreliable and overpriced. Internet costs twice as much as previous provider, yet the connection varies from slow to frequently nonexistent; it is not even as fast as the dial-up I used 15 years ago. It is very difficult to reach anyone in customer service by phone, but when I did on one occasion, the agent actually hung up on me. I later received an apology phone call from his supervisor, but my internet is still not working. This company does not seem to value its customers, is very poor at communicating with customers, and does not stand behind its product. On a positive note, the service techs are outstanding, and provide professional and friendly service. In short, I wish there were other options for Internet service in Kanab.
The most spotty and unreliable internet service there is in Beaver County, I'm going to switch back to CenturyLink! --Update 8/20/18: here I am again on a Sunday afternoon with no internet and nobody to talk to about having no internet, I've tried calling several times with still no results I guess my $50+ a month isn't good enough to receive a decent service from this company.. I'm usually not the kind to leave a negative review, but enough is enough! I'm sick of feeling like I'm being taken advantage of!! Thanks for taking my money!

Spotty internet..like right at this moment it is 90 degrees, beautiful skies, no wind...and the internet is down AGAIN!!! Thank the Lord for Verizon 4G!! You never know if it will go down while paying bills, watching Netflix, etc...I can understand internet problems but come on!! I have lived in Kanab almost 2 years now and it seems like it goes down at least once a month, or sometimes more! There is no way to contact them like today, on a Sunday....not impressed at all...but hey guess that's what ya get when there is only one internet provider huh??? Thankfully Verizon goes down barely and their 4G is awesome..so at least I CAN do things on my phone!
We recently changed from a satellite internet service to South Central fiber. Wow! What a difference. We love South Centrals internet. My internet is so much faster now. The customer service has been phenomenal. Every time I have called to either inquire about something or because I ve had an Issue they have been very responsive and quick to send someone out. I ve waited a month to write the review...just to see how my service would do...and I am very pleased with it so far. I highly recommend South Central for your internet needs.
After a power outage my internet was not functioning. Caelan lead me through multiple steps remotely with great patience and withing a few minutes I was online again. Most grateful.

I had to call South Central due to my internet going out after unplugging it to mount it on my wall instead of it just sitting on my floor since installation. I ve had south central for two years and I ve never had an issue. But today I am not at all satisfied. I called first and spoke with a gentlemen, whom was not at all friendly, about my issue. I informed him I unplugged it to mount it and he immediately heard I unplugged the fiber. I didn t. He then recommended a tech, didn t inform me of the service charge and that I just had to wait til Monday. No other solutions. Being upset I hung up. I work at home and internet is the only way I can do it so it s very much my livelihood. I calmed and called again. Spoke to a polite young woman but you could tell she just wanted to leave for the day. I informed her I didn t unplug the fiber and requested a tech sooner. She then informed me of the fees that are implied. 50 for a weekend and 40 (don t remember exact amount of the base charge) I was taken back by this cause it wasn t mentioned at all. She stated they had a tech on call is an option. I said yes absolutely. I ll pay that fee. Then she continued to say he would reach out if he could make it otherwise I just have to wait til Monday. What kind of customer service is this. I should be contacted after stated I would pay it by the tech to determine times. Or at least told some kind of arrival by the office. Everything is officially just on hold and I m in the dark til Monday or until the tech decides he can make it. Absolutely unacceptable and very upsetting. This is not a way to handle business for a loyal customer.

My service was interrupted, after making a call to the bank to verify my recent payment was cashed, I called them to notify them of a problem. I was informed I had already "wasted my allotted Bytes for the month." and would have to wait for my renewal date. After trying to show the flaw in the girl's logic between a "slow down" and "complete shutdown" of service, I lost service from my cell phone, which dropped the call. (BTW, my cell service and internet come from the same tower). After 2 hours, my phone rang again. Checked the internet, it was back up in full force. Hit Facebook, found a blog about what was really happening with the service. People are not happy with SCC... and for good reasons.
Changed from Blue Sky to South Central, what an upgrade. Saved me money too and got five times the speed on my internet. No more being held for ransom because there was no one else.
Down in Page, AZ we don t have many options for really anything. So when choosing what you want, you often are choosing the one you dislike the least. And I m honestly questioning whether that is SCC. I live here temporarily while I m family lives here year round and I don t know how they put up with this internet provider! There are two full time university students in this house that RELY on internet service. It is really frustrating to have to go to someone else s house or a public location that has WiFi just to be able to submit or even start our work. And this is not a matter of having too many devices. Half the time, there are only 2-3 devices ever at one time. But the internet cuts out multiple times DAILY anywhere from mere minutes to hours! I don t always complain because it sends us all outside to smell the roses but this is a serious issue. Not to mention calling them is usually NO help. I have limited data and I m having to use that for the things I need to get done. And to write this review. Ridiculously priced for almost no internet service. You can expect to be losing us as customers.
Today, I was granted a true miracle, or, to me, it was surely a miracle. I am writing a Children's Christmas book, and it has been going well. Till something Awful happened! A huge Virus, or something worse, attacked me and my computer. I was devastated! I called Kyle Barton, and he said I must take it into the South Central office, in Kanab, (Utah).
A nice young man, Aaron, looked at my computer the first day I had it here. We could not get the password to work, or anything else. I came back today, to talk to Aaron again, but he was off today.
I need my computer so bad, and my Children's book was so near finished, but I could not do anything at all without my computer. Worst of all, I was afraid I had totally lost all my information on my computer. I was afraid all those months and months of work was lost! Not to mention my Family Histories I have on my computer, my emails, EVERYTHING!
But mostly, my Christmas Children's Book might be gone forever!
So, I was near panic, when Aaron was not here. But, there was a wonderful young lady there at the desk, Monica Croteau, who took pity on me. She went in and called Dustin Pedersen, who,I have decided, is a genius! He didn't put my computer aside for another day, (and more sleepless nights for me), but went right that minute, and did not quit!
Between Dustin and Monica, with DUSTIN at the helm, all my records are intact, the computer works like new again, and I am so thankful! I cannot tell you how thankful!
I want everyone to know about what to do when you are computer illiterate, or a Virus attacks your computer, or a hacker gets you---all of which happened to me! I want you to know there is a genius at work, at the South Central office, Dustin, Pedersen, and a willing helper, Monica Croteau. And other wonderful people. Terrible internet service and terrible customer service. The internet in Page, AZ has been so bad the past two months and it seems like nothing is being done about it. Every time I call tech support they remotely restart my router/modem and call it a day. Sometimes they don't say anything at all and I end up hanging up the phone. I pay for the 1 Gb package and only get 20 Mb on a good day. I've asked on multiple occasions if I can get my bill reduced since I don't get the speeds that I pay for, but I don't get an answer to that either.
South Central is GREAT. Our building has 5 different entities who provide us with our complicated tel-com needs. Policy reasons prevent us from letting SCC do it all for us, but I wish they could. Of the 5 entities, South Central is the most attentive and helpful. Chris, Gywen, and Shiloh are excellent in particular. At the time of this review, it took them a mere 3 minutes to fix a phone problem 'We have a guy in the area who will be right over!' And they weren't kidding! Hell, our local fire department can't even beat that response time! Thanks SCC!

So many companies have forgotten what good customer service is, but not South Central Communications! They have the best service from both the installers as well as their customer service department. We absolutely love our internet service from them. We couldn't be happier!
South Central Communications is our internet provider. In November of 2014, our internet stopped working. I called SCC and Ebbi was very professional and quick to send maintenance out. The maintenance worker was very efficient and was able to upgrade all our equipment and the service has been GREAT every since.
Oh, how I had it so good with South Central! My family and I moved to a more populated area and are currently receiving a much lower quality of service. Slower speeds and poor customer service in comparison to SSC, where we always had positive interactions from top to bottom. A+ service!
19 hours to return a call. Refuae to provide admin access or a configuration file for the mode. Insists I can be charged $80/hr for their tech, when i could fix this on my own if they didnt lock me out of of the modem. Refuses to update the firmware for the modem too.
They have decent techs but their service is absolutely lousy. Never believe when they say they are going to be at your place, because it's completely inaccurate. They also won't call you if they aren't able to make it. Lousy service.
These guys at South Central had exceptional customer service and made me feel like they truly cared. They went out of their way to help me get situated for my employment and honestly these guys are truly genuine top-notch folks and I would recommend them any day.
High Price No Quality They literally charge for high speed internet and provide you with worse than dial-up speeds. Customer service provides literally no service, rendering the name fairly ironic. PS Oh I'm very certain. Ive contacted them countless times and received little to no help at all. The most positive feedback I've received is here and that's only because it's public.
South Central customer service is the best! They are knowledgeable and professional while still being personable. I called and left a message for help and Dave called back in about 3 minutes and had the trouble fixed in about 5 minutes. Thank you :)
Unfortunately, being overcharged for sub-par speeds, about 10x slower than what I'm supposed to be getting. Paying extra for "business class" but doesn't seem to be worth it. At least they have customer support open until 10pm, so that's a plus.
I had been conducting a series of WiFi test. I summarized those and email South Central Communications. I received a prompt response with various recommendations. So I called and spoke with April Macdonald Service/Support very professional and customer driven. In fact all the individuals I spoke with were courteous, pleasant and focused on resolving our issues. This morning Shilo and his partner came to our Panguitch Lake home and a hour plus later diagnosed our issues and resolve them all. They even took the time to educate us on modems and routers and provide some recommendations which will allow us to further improve enhance our quality of our internet service.
We have come from a large city with an actual cable service, by that I mean we had a box with DVR services, on demand, etc. The charge for that service was the same as SCC charges, and if you didn't like that service, there was a choice in purveyors. I realize this is a small town, but they just installed fiber optic internet, so how about addressing the lack of cable channels, for which we are paying dearly. For $150 a month you could do a LOT better!!
The staff at South Central is always very competent and professional. Roy and Wes came out to upgrade my internet and did a thorough and perfect job. I recommend South Central to every new person moving to this area
