One stop shop. I can get my well womens & holistic doctor or my regular doctor here. Been coming here for over decade now. I have a variety of types of doctors to choose or sub in if my doctor's not available. Open 7 days a week is pretty awesome, too.

I have been going to see Dr. Martin for the last two years for primary care only and was ok with the services. The first incident I had was trying to get my FMLA paperwork completed by the doctor - he went out of town and didn't complete the paperwork or give to anyone else and then it took 2 more weeks just to have a nurse complete it after calling ME for the details.
Then, the last straw!
I called their office at 10:30 while I was on the way to my 10:45 a.m. visit and stated I MIGHT be 5 minutes late. They informed me at that time that if I was going to be more than 15 minutes they had the right to reschedule my appointment - no problem I thought. I signed into their facility at 10:51 according to their clock - it took me longer because there was no parking and I had to drive around a while to find a space. The place was crowded with people. I sat there for 25 minutes after they took my payment and no one was left in the waiting room so I asked how much longer it would be - I was told the Dr.'s nurse should be with me shortly. 10 minutes later the nurse comes to get me, takes my vitals and tells me it will be a while. So I wait another 5 minutes (now having been there 45 minutes total) and asked the nurse how much longer she thought it would be - she didn't know. I asked what the hold up was and I am told that I must have been signed in late so she went ahead and took the 11:00 appt in before me and she didn't know when the doctor would get to me. I saw when the 11:00 checked in and she was there AFTER me! I asked to speak with the doctor for a split second and was told there was nothing the nurse could do. I then asked for the doctors email and was told by 3 different people the doctors don't have email - what, do they send notifications to him via telegraph? GIVE ME A BREAK and a point blank lie! So rude - I will never go back!

I had never had anything but wonderful care at the South Austin Medical Clinic. I was seeing Dr Malleske who finally (deservedly) retired! Unfortunately their has been a loss of true concern for patients. This said, expect to see & deal with the fact that this is a busy CLINIC. Over 40 years of service to the city. You must be a patient patient! Sad to see a corporate vibe begin to run this clinic. A sign of these times...

Today they get a 2
Although I have had good experiences with my dr, Calderon , today I am very sick and called over an hour and a half ago to speak with the nurse. Still no call back
IF based on symptoms I need antibiotics I d like to get them quickly and have a friend who could get them now. If it s viral we ll im out of luck...

I am too sick to go out, altho if I absolutely had to I could

And now called again and the answering svc said they are closed for a mtg till 2:30, can only take life threatening calls. That s 4 hrs from time I called??
If it was life threatening I wouldn t call the office I d call 911!! Very disappointed that my illness ( which happens rarely) was not that important for a simple 5-10 min call back.

I called to verify my insurance before I made an appointment. Everything apparently checked out. I take a 40 minute bus ride and wait an hour at the office to find out they don't accept my insurance. It's the first thing I asked to verify and these people completely wasted my time.

Pay attention and put down the pipe

I havent even gone to this clinic and have already had a bad experience. The girl that answered the phone was a little rude and even though their is a highly rated doctor here that I really want to see in considering looking elsewhere. We scheduled my appointment, she asked me a lot of questions then at the end of the converstaion and after shcheduling she asked me if I am a new patient. I told her that I am then she said that the schedule changes. Why didnt you ask me that in the beginning like other Dr.s offices do? So we rescheduled but I got the old time a little confused with the new times (I was trying to schedule 2 appts for diff reasons). Then she got attitude with me when I got confused and needed clarification.

Wow I ve been coming here for years and love Dr Runyan, but the way I was treated this morning 11-10-19 by the on call physician (which I entirely doubt was a legit doctor.) was unacceptable.. I asked for an inhaler refil because my allergies are horrible and wasn t able to get to the office till tomorrow, she says they can t call in prescriptions out of business hours, which doesn t make sense to me, since the on call physician is there for a reason, right? Unless she s just there to be useless and make people cry? I asked what I should do if I couldn t breath? She literally laughed at me. How disrespectful are you to treat people like that? Serve your purpose you hateful woman or find a new job.

My husband went in for a follow up to his initial visit, as things have not gotten better for him. At this follow up not only did the doctor ignore the problem at hand, he had crossed so many lines it s unimaginable. It is extremely inappropriate for a doctor to give financial opinions or tell a person/their partner what to do with their lives, he s meant to be taking care of your health.
In addition to this completely inappropriate blunder of rudely articulated opinions, it was very clear they had taken no notes during the initial appointment. The doctor spoke to my husband as if he had not taken any steps to relieve the issue, when in fact we ve taken many and have made him aware of them. The main issue was yet again not dealt with, and instead the doctor decided on a different problem to focus on.
Hard to leave a review without getting too into the personal details medically, but do not want others to waste their money going into an office that will do nothing for them!
While I m sure the doctors at the practice are qualified- they are not doing their jobs and were very rude.
If you re in the market for a new PCP I would look elsewhere. I definitely am.

I really like April Calderon, DO. Her bedside manner is excellent. I took my son to see her today. I have never had a doctor be so informative and helpful, explaining things in great detail, asking questions, answering questions, and just generally demonstrating knowledge and professionalism in a patient and thorough manner.

The doctors are great, with exception of Dr. Calderon. The office and billing practices are awful. Just received notice of a supposed 2 year old balance. I paid them before we moved. We had problems with them every time we went, so we changed doctors. The good experiences with the medical staff were not enough to offset constant issues with billing, especially not 2 years later.

I see Dr. Servin as my primary care physician and she is great. She takes the time to answer all your questions and is very professional. Before leaving, Dr. Servin even gave me some additional resources to more fully answer the questions I had during my office visit. Overall, great experience and never remember having to wait too long.

I've been seeing Dr. MARTIN at the clinic a few months now, he's okay so far the best primary Dr I have had in a while. I like how he manages my concerns, get my medications stable, and his nurses are great (rc& lexi). Now my problem is front desk service, if you go here you know they can awkwardly rude when they are speaking with you. I have had breakdowns due to encounters with the staff. They treat you like a number. I understand they can be busy but treat consumers with respect. I really wish Dr Martin would go into practice by himself or a smaller place I love his work.

They also have fast service as far as scheduling and availability I just wish the entire staff was patient friendly.

I would not trust my dog with Dr. Easterling. She is a robot. I felt like I was being evaluated with a computer and my symptoms were checked of a check list. I came for a serious condition- she didn't offer me a prescription or a referral and didn't take the time to really listen to my symptoms. She had no compassion and just kept taking about the rules of medicine. After my visit, I wanted to see her for 5 seconds to ask a question and was informed she was too busy. When I insisted and went back into the clinic despite the receptionist asking me not to I found she wasn't busy at all- she just didn't want to see me because she didn't think my problem was important. This is medicine at it's worst. I wasted $160. Good thing I have insurance. Read other reviews on her before seeing her. She is very inexperienced and it really shows. There are bad reviews on her all over the internet.

Love my doctor, hate the clinic front desk staff.

Love my doctor, hate the clinic front desk staff.

I changed Primary Care Physicians a year ago because mine moved out of the area. I've been seeing Dr Todd Canon and he's really great. Very thorough and seems to genuinely care about my overall health and quality of life.

I've had 3 visits with him and about 4 calls into the clinic for scheduling, questions, prescription refills, etc. That's basically 7 interactions that I really recall.

Every time they are overly curt on the phone, I get it, it's busy and they have to receive and deliver info that is patient specific and private. There is still something to be said about positive delivery and presentation of the word no. They make it very clear, they don't care what situation or question you have, they want you off the phone and will not work toward a mutually beneficial solution. (This last one was about a form that needed to be signed while I was out of town. She said I can bring it in or mail it. I explained that I was 1200 miles away and asked if I could email or fax it. Her response was bring it in or mail it sir.)

When I arrive, they have always been busy which is a good sign I guess, people must love the care they receive and just tolerate the office folks. They are very impersonal and when asking for info and payment, it just feels like they're angry about your presence and don't tell you what they are doing, if you need to stand there, sit down and wait, or anything, they just work in silence while you stand at the window. Once they realize you didn't disappear, they'll say "I'll call you back up here to sign in a moment."

Time to say good bye to Dr. Canon and find a small doctor's office again I guess.

I have seen three doctors here over the past 6 years. Dr. Easterling and Dr. Canon are both fantastic, but the office management is terrible. Hard to get a hold of, impossible to get a call back from and are always making pretty large mistakes. They are also incredibly rude. These deficiencies are enough to get me to switch my primary care doctor.

I love the 7a-7p plus weekend availability. I love the show up by 8am and we'll see you that morning without an appointment. I've been coming to the South Austin Medical clinic for 20 years. Saw Dr. Weidman for the first 5 years. He was great. One day, on Dr. Wiedman's day off, I needed to get in on short notice, they squeezed me in with Dr. Martin. He was great too. He managed those issues, and I've been seeing him ever since. I could not be happier. They do a great job managing long-term issues and minor wound cleaning and stitches in my hand when that happened. I'm on the ACA exchange and would not think of buying a policy without access to these folks. Thankfully, they are on every policy I've considered.

Terrible. I ve been coming here for years, although I m not sure why I continued to subject myself to such a terrible practice when 80% of my experiences were bad, I suppose it may have been out of convince since I live so close and I had hope that maybe my experiences would get better. Throughout the past 3 or so years I ve come here for a variety of different things, and made multiple appointments for the same problem and never once have I been given consistent help/advice from the doctors, and I ve seen a couple of them. Not only are they vague, cold and aloof, they couldn t make it anymore obvious that they really couldn t care less. Not to mention the staff at the check in counter have about the same attitude and are extremely difficult to deal with over the phone. I ve been trying to get itemized receipts to give my insurance for the past 2 weeks, they said they sent them to my patient portal but somehow they never actually send. And despite hearing my frustration over the phone, the woman makes zero effort to make anything better nor does she apologize for the negligence. On another note, the last time I went to this doctor which was about a month ago, I went for a terrible ear infection I had. The doctor put me on 3 different antibiotics and sent me home. 2 days later, I get worse and my infection spreads to my other ear. I go back in and the second doctor I see (a different doctor), tells me something completely different and then changes my meds again, sends me home. Another 2 day s later things continue to get worse, I m in agonizing pain and missing work, so I take myself to specialist who says that both doctors had me on all the wrong medications, and failed to clean my ears out which is the VERY first thing they should ve done, and if they were unable to, they should ve referred me to a specialist on my very first visit. DO NOT COME HERE, they will give you false information and false medicine. Don t waste your time, your money and definitely don t compromise your health. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

First saw Dr. C in Jan for a new patient annual. It wasn t until four months later when I reached out about refilling my RX that I was told she would need my previous medical records - a lengthy process. Was told that it was on me to drive and pay for my records until my previous Dr confirmed that SAMC could request them directly. I offered to forward PDF notes from testing but no one got back to confirm how I could send them.

Dr. has known for weeks that I m moving out of state tomorrow and I have no info on if I ll be able to get my RX refilled, which also runs out tomorrow.

My doctor, Amy Easterling, is really great and I love seeing her. The office staff on the other hand is completely rude- and my experience is not just a one-time encounter. I was given an appointment over the phone for 10:30. When I showed up to the office early to my appointment like requested, the staff reprimanded me telling me "Your late, your appointment was at 10:15" to which I replied "No I was told my appointment was at 10:30 and it's officially 10:20 so I'm actually early." I thought maybe the staff was just having a bad day- so I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though it was an extremely rude (not to mention incorrect) comment. The next time I made an appointment I got a phone call the very day of the appointment saying that the staff did something wrong and scheduled me incorrectly. There was no apology for the mistake they had made- they only said that she told the staff that they were not supposed to schedule me. They were very rude about accommodating the fact that I needed to keep that appointment time because I couldn't do any other time (hence why I made the appointment for that date/time). I could list off more instances where the staff has been extremely rude and unpleasant on the phones. I keep coming back for Amy Easterling, but sometimes I think about moving to a different doctor because I hate talking with the office staff.

The nurse I had was incredibly rude. She clearly didn't have time for me and didn't care much to make any for me or even pretend to be nice. I contacted South Austin Medical Clinic as they were in my network and I needed to see someone regarding referrals and to acquire a primary care physician. The doctor listed by my health insurance agency didn't have any availability within the time frame I was looking for, but they recommended a physician that was newer to their practice who was still in-network and additionally had an available spot for a new patient within that week, so I went for it.

My appointment was at 7:30 AM (I wanted as early as possible to ensure I could make it to work by 9am) with Dr. Calderon and I was instructed to arrive 30 minutes prior to complete required paperwork. I arrived at 7am, completed all paperwork by 7:15 and was promptly called into my appointment by 7:33am.

Dr. Calderon was THE most pleasant physician I have ever encountered. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but I was very nervous going into this appointment as you always hear horror stories about patients, in general, not receiving the care they are looking for and my issues, to me, seemed very minuscule as to what I'm sure others could be going in for. Dr. Calderon not only heard me out regarding my numerous concerns, but made me feel like she actually cared and wanted me to get the help I was looking for. There is a presence about her that is very gentle and caring which will keep me as a patient of hers for as long as I am able to be.

I highly recommend Dr. Calderon to anyone looking for a new primary care physician. As for the office staff, I never felt like I was being spoken to rudely nor were they ever short with me. They are there to get my information, process my paperwork and ensure that I am checked in for my appointment and that is exactly what they did.

I am so surprised to see the negative comments about the front desk. I was looking for a new ob gyn after mine retired through the Seton Health Care Network and became quickly frustrated and sad when talking with other clinics in downtown Austin where the office staff were multi-tasking, rude and talking with other people while having me on the line. I was already seeing South Austin for my primary care, it was such a relief when I called and they were so professional and considerate.

I really wanted to like this clinic, because I had a great experience with the doctor. However, the front staff is very rude. When calling to make an appointment, cancel an appointment or ask any question, I am almost always asked to hold, sometimes up to 10 minutes, but usually 7-8 minutes. Either they are way under-staffed, or the help that they do have doesn t exercise appropriate time management. The doctors at this office are great (5 stars), but dealing with the front desk staff to get to the doctors just isn't worth it to me. I have relocated to another clinic, just to avoid dealing with the front desk.

I've been a patient for going on 5 years and I've had problems that required immediate care and the accommodated me. I had some budgetary constraints at one point too and though it was expensive, all things considered, it wasn't over the top.

Setting up an appointment is easy and they tend to see me pretty quick as long as I keep my appointment.

Called in to reschedule my appointment and a staff member treated me rudely over the phone, interrupted me numerous times while talking, and placed me on hold while I was talking. This places obviously hires cry baby CHILDREN to talk to adults so steer clear. If you're on your deathbed and have to reschedule an appt that still qualifies as a "no show" and after 3 "no shows" they can bar you from the clinic. EVEN if you make an appt and call 2 hours later to reschedule that qualifies as a "no show." What kind of s** is this?

TERRIBLE, GONE DOWNHILL

TERRIBLE, GONE DOWNHILL
I have been coming here for almost 20 years and the service has gone downhill for the last 3 years. It literally has been a cut of a thousand scratches in terms of bad quality healthcare. I scheduled a tele health visit and received a call from the nurse that the doctor wanted to see me in person due to my abnormal labs, and told the nurse that I have two small children. I scrambled to find someone to take of my baby, and called the office back to let them know and was told the doctor wanted to keep the tele health visit. So much stress to find someone for nothing! Then I had trouble connecting for the Telehealth visit via text on my phone, and was told by the front clerk that it was easy (no sympathy for technical issues), and to please relay this message to the doctor-that I was trying to connect through my phone. When I was finally able to connect and speak to the doctor, about my LDL, blood sugar, and potassium levels, I asked for advice on how to bring those down. I do workout, and was given very general advice about shopping the periphery of the grocery store. I go on to inform the doctor that my parents became diabetic in older age and if my genes were predisposed for diabetes as I age. I try to relay my fears and was literally told "I have to move on to my next appointment and have to go." The total length of the televisit was 12 minutes. I am NEVER going to return because that is the most awful thing a doctor can say to a patient. The doctor recommends that I go and get my levels rechecked, but it is only for the potassium level, NOT the LDL and blood sugar level. I used to think this was an okay place but after the last visit, no way. The front desk clerks are also very rude and show no sympathy towards patients that feel panicked about having COVID. Find another Primary Care physician who cares!

Doctor Canon and his MA get 5 stars, he is an amazing physician and the only reason I stay. Although, every doctor I have seen there is amazing, except for Dr. Runyan (Deedee) she's condescending, rude, and messed up one of my prescriptions. She has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. I would avoid her. I have never left a doctor's visit so upset before. Also the office staff is pretty terrible, I can't bring myself to give them a higher rating. EVERY TIME I call I am put on hold for 5-10 minutes. I wish I was exaggerating, but sadly I am not. I dread calling them, not only do I have to wait on hold forever, when the women finally do answer, they are almost always rude, refuse to answer my questions, and sometimes hang up before I am done talking. There is one girl there that is really helpful, but it's mostly a miss. The other issue is the wait time, I usually end up waiting 45 minutes after my appointment to be called back and then another 15-20 minutes to see the doctor. I literally have to clear 1.5-2 hours out of my schedule just for a visit. More than once they have incorrectly billed me, misplaced paperwork and promised a call back that I never recieved. Seriously though, basically all the doctors and MA's are great and that is what is most important, again they get five stars.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I honestly just left from seeing Dr. Runyan and it was a really terrible experience. She was very dismissive and condescending during our conversation after I expressed my concerns, almost as though she wanted me to feel dumb. She quickly switched her attitude after I told her I didn't appreciate her condescending tone, but the damage is done. If you are a health care provider, your patients should never leave your office feeling dismissed and wishing I wouldn't have wasted my time.
Honestly the rest of the staff was great, I can't speak about anyone else, but if you do decide to go, DO NOT go to Dr. Runyan!

If zero stars were available, I'd select that. This is a medical office that excels in poor, abysmally poor service. A month's worth of effort to get medical records sent to my new physician at Austin Regional Clinic finally resulted in a phone chat with the very person who has been acting as the human log jam in this process. Curt, dismissive, and argumentative; this person was the epitome of lousy customer service. I'm not sure how people like this hold their jobs. If possible, avoid this "medical clinic". Find one that treats people with respect. Awful.

Extremely disappointed with this clinic. Had seen Dr. Calderon before, and she was always outstanding! If you do go to this clinic, I highly recommend her! She is kind, extremely knowledgeable, and very good with patients. Unfortunately Dr. Calderon was out on the day that I went, so I ended up with Dr. Servin. Maybe she was having an off-day, but she seemed more concerned with her ego than with her patients needs. Very poor experience. Worst of all was the office staff (and manager). Very unprofessional. I d recommend a different clinic (or even an urgent care). I went in for the most basic thing and received a $70 bill. I could ve done the same thing at medsprings for the same price. And they would ve been professional, courteous, and offered me a free snack. Seriously, find a different clinic so you don t have to deal with the headaches we ve had from this place.

So I needed to find a new doctor for my children that were in network. I came across this clinic what a nightmare. First visit for the wellness check up I get to the clinic & they say you needed to get here 30 minutes earlier we need to see if u can be seen today. I told them I was not aware only for time given for appt. Then as Im filling out everything co pay is required for wellness checkup. Which is free so I thought according to my ins.She explains to me her office policy is pay for your visit & ins. will reimburse you (first time i heard of anything like this). There goes another thing that was not brought to may attention. Bad communication from this office from the start. To think how the service would be im glad I didnt stick around to find out. So a couple weeks later I tried to setup another appt. for my children to get physicals & she has the nerve to tell me since what happened in the doctors office last time I will not be able to schedule your children back to back on appointments. Wow because of their mis communication they want to stroll on a bad start with new patients. She said this was the managers doing so if your looking for a good atmosphere for your family turn elsewhere. When your loved ones are sick you want them to be well off not in a hassle before they are even seen. Good luck on finding a better clinic. Glad to put a review about our experience here to warn many others.

This clinic is sometimes great, and sometimes awfu...

This clinic is sometimes great, and sometimes awful. I was originally seeing Dr. Levy, who was a pretty good doctor, but then all of a sudden, I was informed that he had left the practice. I got no notice, no warning, he left no medical records, and if I wanted to get back into the practice, I had to start all over again from scratch, as if I had never been there before.

Now I see Dr. Servin, who is also good, but when the clinic screws up your prescriptions, they really screw it up. I requested a refill of my medication when I realized I was almost out, and they got back to me pretty quickly with a text message from some unknown medical website confirming that the prescription had been submitted. (That doesn't do me any good if my pharmacy doesn't have it!)

So I waited a couple more days, called the pharmacy to see if they had it, and they did not. They offered to send another prescription request, which I accepted. But that was on Friday, so I had to wait all weekend to call the clinic and get the ball rolling. Fast forward to today-- I called the clinic, they said they had faxed it over, so I waited a bit and then called the pharmacy to see if they had received it. They said they didn't have it yet, so I waited a bit longer, called again... still nothing. So I've been calling back and forth to the clinic and the pharmacy all day, and no one knows what's wrong. At this point, I've been out of my medication for almost a week.

Then, one particularly sharp pharmacy employee asks if it could be under a different name. I give them my maiden name, and lo and behold, there it is. Keep in mind, I haven't used my maiden name in over three years, and both my insurance and the clinic have my married name on file. Why they randomly decided to start using my maiden name again, I'll never know. They've been using my married name without a problem up until now, and of course they have no problem sending me BILLS with the correct name on them, so I wasted half the day and a LOT of frustration on something that could have been prevented by them checking their own records.

I have been dr. Martin patient since I moved to austin, at first it was a bit frustrated because of the waiting time and lab bills were sent after visit. But now after I took my family to a lot of different specialists and other clinics in a lot of different occasions, I realize that lab fee $5-$10 wasn t even a 1% of what other doctors send their patients, I got a Bill of $7000 for lab tests after insurance, I got bills sending to me after doctor visit a year ago that I cannot recall what it was from $500-$800 just so random things and I couldn t understand how they did that. Now I know that South Austin Medical clinic actually has very reasonable lab fee and doctor Martin is the best doctor I ve ever have.

I called and made an appointment for a video chat appointment and the doctor never answered when the appointment time came, I was already in a lot of pain at this point I just wanted to find out if I needed to come in or if they thought it would be best if I go to a hospital instead so I called back and the receptionist put me on hold. After a while I hung up and called back because unfortunately my phone was dying and I didn't have my cord on me so I really didn't have time to wait. When calling back I asked the receptionist to please not put me on hold, I let her know that the doctor wasn't entering the video chat at all and that I was in a lot of pain and WHILE I WAS MID FREAKIN SENTENCE SHE PUT ME ON HOLD. If I didn't like my regular doctor I definitely would not be coming back here.

Just established with this clinic and have had horrible experiences. Three weeks ago, I woke up with extreme pain in both shoulders and chest and called the clinic and got a recording that they were closed. I called back three times because I knew they were open on the weekend and I got the same recording. The recording had the number to on call Dr so I called that number. I got the answering service who called the clinic's line and they got the same result so she paged the on call Dr. Someone from the clinic called back and admonished me for calling the on call Dr for a "non emergency" and said they had just been closed for lunch. Not my problem that their recording didn't indicate that and shoulder and chest pain seemed pretty relevant to me. Anyway, she tells me I can call back tomorrow and maybe I'll get an appt. I ended up going to Urgent Care and had an abnormal EKG.
Fast forward to today. I was seen three days ago for a fever, cough, body aches and severe headache. My flu test came back negative so I was prescribed a very expensive antibiotic for a sinus infection. I've had many sinus infections and my symptoms didn't present that way, but she's the Dr. I am still running a fever today and feel worse. I called at 1:43 and was told a Dr would call me back. I called at 5:43 and they apologized and promised a Dr would call me back. I called at 7:53 to the answering service and a rude lady said she couldn't reach the Dr and I would have to wait for a call back. When I tried to explain I have been waiting all day and asked how long it would be, she said, "goodbye" and hung up on me. I'll be looking for another Doctor.

The wait was long for an appointment, but most clinics are. The doctor and nurse were both very personable and patient (no pun intended ). It was the first time at this clinic and I'll be going back.

Dr. Canon, who is my PCP for the last several years, is an outstanding doctor. Caring, professional and actually takes time to talk with you and treat you like a human being and not a number. I trust him completely and so much so that he was and is the first physician to care for my newborn, who is now 3. Also, since I've talked him up so much, my husband now has him for a PCP too. And his PA, Cassandra is top notch too. Gentle with kids (she recently had her first), and friendly with patients, she's great!

Dr. Canon is great, but dealing with the front desk/billing staff has been a nightmare. I have been aggressively misgendered (transphobic) and given unhelpful/rude communication regarding billing errors. Recently, I needed to have a Rx (not a refill) called in to a different pharmacy, and was told that it would take 2 days to do so. For an antibiotic. To address pneumonia. 2 days. I m done with this place.

My family loves loves LOVES Dr. Easterling! My husband and our 6 year old just had their appointments with her and as usual, everything went great. Dr. Easterling is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a gem of a doctor. Her nurse is terrific too!
Also, there's hardly any wait for your appointment and the front staff is very well organized and polite.

I've been to this practice several times and never had any issues. When I called today to set up a first-time appointment for someone in my family the receptionist (who finally picked up after a long wait) was very short and seemed like she was making excuses for us to not go there. I told her we created a new patient profile online yesterday (went through extensive sign up on the website) and she said, "What is that, I don't know what that is, I work in the back office and I'm helping answer phones". After I explained what it was she proceeded to look up his info and said "we don't have him in the system". She then asked for his insurance and was quick to say "we don't accept that here". Even though I've previously gone there, I'm hesitant to go again. I can only imagine my experience being the same when I call in and need help. Your office staff is giving a terrible experience to people who are already in a vulnerable position.

My 15-year-old son is seeing Dr. Todd Canon. He is a very thorough and super friendly physician. My 9-year-old daughter will also see him as her pediatrician, and I've seen him as a primary care in the past. He made my very shy son feel very comfortable. He's very receptive to any questions. He just has a great bedside manner.

The clinic is really well-organized, and everyone is so cheerful and helpful. Plenty of parking and it's easy to find. Nice that lab can be drawn on-site. Never hard to make a sick-child appointment for the same day.

Sadly, all the comments about the front desk and administrative staff are true. I endured the rudeness, the lack of any human, friendly interaction, etc., for several years, since I liked my physician. But, now he has left the practice so I am moving to a smaller, more personable doctor's office for my care. Having recently seen a specialist with their own practice, and experiencing friendly, competent customer service from the front desk/admin staff there, I realized there is no reason to continue to go to a clinic that exemplifies the crappy "health care as a business commodity" model so perfectly.

BAD BAD BAD! NEVER GO HERE!

The staff is the worst I have ever seen before. 20 minutes on hold just to tell me Dr.Maleski isn't available and they yelled at me in the process. Dr.Maleski treated me like a number. He started to walk out of the room when he thought he was done and I had to stop him to remind him a second time that I had other things I wanted to talk to him about. I HATE THIS PLACE!

Dr. Donovan Runyan and Dr Levi are wonderful doctors. They're patient and caring and I've always felt I was in good hands with them.

If your Dr. has no openings when you go there for an emergency, the office will give you another Dr in a short amount of time. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes in the waiting area.

I really liked my doctor there, but dealing with the administrative staff is such a chore and unpleasant, I'm finding a new doctor.

I got a letter in the mail from the patient accounts clerk that was about as unprofessional as I've ever experienced from a doctors office. The letter threatened me with collections and a "discharge" from the practice for me and my family over EIGHT DOLLARS! Yes, $8!

That's only part of how awful the front desk staff really is. They are rude as hell in everything from setting up an appointment to anything else that doesn't involve you handing them your insurance or credit cards.

i was lied to when setting up a well exam and was told there would be no charge the day of my appointment because it was a well exam. To my surprise, I was charged my co-pay. I've had my insurance (PPO) for 10 years and this was the first time I've ever had to pay a co-pay for a well exam.

When setting up my appointment for my well exam, I was told any other issue I wanted to talk to the doctor about would require separate appointments.

There are many other doctors in Austin that whose practices and administrative offices are more professional and treat you like a patient instead of an insurance payment.

I am very upset with the office personnel!!!!!!!!!!! They made a mistake when verifying my insurance and now I am stuck with the bill. I was concerned about my coverage the day of appointment, asked them to verify, they told me I was covered, so I went on with the appointment. I found out, after, that this was false information, the office even called me to tell me that it was their mistake, but I am still responsible - then they wanted to set up a payment plan with me. I would have not kept my appointment that day had I been given the correct information. I feel as if they have swindled me. NOT A TRUST WORTH BUISNESS! NEGATIVE STARS.

I can't imagine anything better than my recent experience at South Austin Medical Clinic. Dr. Rie and his medical assistant Lori were both extremely knowledgeable, skilled, thorough, professional, and compassionate. Because of their care, I was already feeling better as I drove away. I strongly recommend this fine health clinic to anyone who needs one.

I had to come here 3 times over a period of 2 weeks. While they technically met all of my minimal needs, that s the only positive thing I can think of. I found the doctors to be incredibly condescending, the wait times to be absurd (an hour for a simple blood test!), and overall I did not feel well cared for. I definitely would not recommend this clinic, especially for younger women.

The Doctors are wonderful. The front desk, receptionist are most unprofessional group of people I have ever come across. They are rude. They have tried to Bill me for the same service multiple times. When I call to schedule an appointment I am often put on hold for over 10 mins. All these negative reviews about their front desk I hope someone decides to make a change...... Great Doctors though

This is probably the worst experience I've had. Calling them always leads to holds for 10 minutes and then once you schedule an appointment and if you're seen by Dr. Runyan then good luck, that lady does nothing but belittle you. She has absolutely no bed side manners, I'd keep my kids away from her and try the other doctors instead.

Worst Dr. office i have ever been to... I don t even know where to begin with the horrible and inept treatment! Dr. Cut my thyroid dose in half and refused to give me my own test results when i asked for them after such a drastic change in dosage. Threw me for a tailspin and now another Dr. says my dose is going back to what it was previously.

Sick with who knows what and 2 Dr. visits and two Covid tests later still no clue because - well... everything must be Covid nowadays.

Six calls in one day trying to get test results and no call back from Dr. that day or the following day.

On call Dr. doesn t return calls either and when you are in pain it s not very helpful.

Cannot get an appointment for weeks on end and am told yo go to Urgent Care if i need to see sometime sooner.

This is utterly unacceptable and i wonder they have any patients at all that tolerate being treated so poorly as a patient.

Would not recommend anyone get treated here!

These medical professionals are simply wonderful. I had back and shoulder pain and feared a recurrence of a heart attack (I had one about a year and a half ago and symptoms were somewhat similar). They got me in first thing Thursday morning and did EKG and bloodwork to confirm that it was NOT that. I got a call that day with the news. Further investigation revealed a shingles attack and everyone from the reception staff to the doctors was prompt, helpful, informative and concerned. With weekend clinic hours and a great staff (special kudos to Nurse Celia and Dr Smith and Dr Cannon) you know that your health is their only concern. Thank you, South Austin Medical Clinic!

I've been coming here for a few months just for the birth control shot. They've always carried it but on my visit today I was told when I got here that they no longer carry it. I was suppose to get told over the phone BEFORE I came but I wasn't aware. The nurse was telling me everything that the doctor (Dr.Servin) was saying and I understood it completely but she clearly had an attitude which is very inappropriate and unprofessional. I will NEVER come back here.

I have had nothing but good health care through this clinic. Twice I have called in at times that I thought I would get a recording. (New years eve day) and was seen in the clinic within 2 hours. I was very sick and it was a tremendous service to get seen that day. I have been with Dr. Mark Levy for many years and he has seen and cared for my whole family. When he is not there I have been seen by others all of which were good and caring. Unless I leave town, I will stay at Samc for a long time. I have recommended the clinic to friends and my young employees who are trying to get established with a Doctor.
