I am stuck with this dental company through my employer. I have asked them for a membership card about 6 times and was always told one will be sent and I have never got one.
A claim was submitted when my son had dental work done and I called several times about every 2 months and was told they needed one small minor thing from the Dentist and then the claim would be paid. Finally a year went by and they finally told me that they are not paying the claim. Why would you tell me every time I called prior to this it would paid and now you are telling me it is not eligible to be paid. This should have been told to me during one of my first calls.
During my last couple calls to them I was told that the Supervisor Fabio would call me back. He never called me. When I called back to speak with him, I was told that he was not available. I would be put on hold for long periods of time (15 minutes or more) while they would speak to Fabio and then come back to me and tell me that Fabio said we cannot pay your claim. Why could Fabio not man up and speak to directly in regards to this?

Absolutely horrible insurance. Very disorganized, calling customer service is a waste of time, when you do call, plan to be on hold for at least 35 minutes, also you will get a different answer to the same question each time you do call. The website is horrible. When I go to my home portal, the "benefits" section does not open, but of course the "pay bill" section does. My advice, spend a little more money, this plan is a waste of your time. Not even worthy of 1 star.
Deplorable coverage. Called to get a preauth of what they covered on procedures for my child. The total bill was $1716.00 I paid my portion up front. The remaining $974.60 was supposed to be covered by Solstice per their own communication to the dentist. They have paid a total of $120. If you weren't going to pay the claim, then please state that when the dentist office calls in for preauth. I told the person today at Solstice that I am so very sorry that he has to deal with these calls and that I was not upset with him, but that I am sorry that Solstice is a company that is lacking in integrity. I don't need an empty apology from the owner either. Everything that the previous reviews state are true. Uninformed staff, long wait times (id wait on hold 30 min and be hung up on), Dental staff dealing with them for months at a time, submitting what Solstice requested, giving verification that it was received, and then stating that they never received the documents. And the website being up 99.9% of the time...well only the portion to take payments. The option to look at your claims had never worked! Every dental office I have spoken with refuses to accept them any more. The county had them for their dental coverage last year and no more. Please understand when people are paying for a service, they are not looking for games to be played.

If you live in Panama City Beach, FL, look elsewhere for a dental or vision discount plan. Hardly any providers in the network. I went to walmart for a vision exam, and they had never heard of Solstice. I was not given the appropriate discount. Solstice only supports Aspen Dental in the area. No orthodontists. Customer service representatives were rude and uncaring. I tried them for almost two months. They took my money, and aren't refunding anything. Horrible customer service.

This is a dental and vision insurance that is cost effective and can be activated within a relatively short period of time. I am 69 years old and have not worked for many years and was able to obtain viable dental insurance. I have since had thousands of dollars in claims with a relatively low associated copay !

This plan was recommended by my dentist when I quit my job and became self employed. This is a discount plan and fits my needs perfectly. I was a benefits administrator at my old position and although I may pay a little more out of pocket when I go to the dentist the cost of the plan is half of what I paid through my employer so I am paying less per year then I was. Anyone shopping for a dental plan needs to really look at what kind s of procedures they may need for the coming year. Most plans have out of pockets costs for any procedures over and above the regular cleanings. This was and is a great plan for myself and my family.

Most of us share the frustrations of calling a big corporation for assistance,in most cases we get stuck with a long wait to speak to a heavily accented person who only adds to the frustration by exhibiting his or her complete lack of understanding!However ,today I spoke with a highly intelligent very helpful person by the name of Mike.He helped me immensely even to the point that he told me to put him on hold (Now that's a switch )while I called my dentist to procure procedure numbers.He then gave me my co-pay costs and successfully satisfied all my questions.Great! Why can't all my searches for competence be as smooth as today's ? Thanks Mike and thanks Solstice.

Only 4 stars because I wish you could do more things on the website without needing to call in. I just wanted to cancel my auto-pay and it seems like I should be able to do that without talking to anyone. But when I called in the lady (whose name I can't remember though it was 3 minutes ago) was quick to respond and very nice and efficient. I was on the phone for a shorter time than it took to write this long flippin' paragraph.
Customer service is good. I have only call with questions about my policy premium, hopefully call regarding a dental claim billing would be informational and detailed if I ever need to call about that. The website has improve a little bit in past year, but there should be more improvements. It would be great client/customer can view invoicement for past 12 months, paymemt history, and to see if payment is still due for the month.

Do NOT use this company for anything - total administrative nightmare and rip-off tactics. We only used them for 2 cleanings a year, paid $75 each month and was double billed, encountered less than professional customer service each and every time for 2 years. Throwing your money away with this company. Also reporting to the State of Florida after learning of the consistent poor business tactics used by Solstice. BEWARE!!!
The service was excellent and friendly. My only suggestion would be to enable me to change my auto-pay credit card info myself, instead of having to do it through a person.

This insurance plan is a complete scam and waste of money. After paying $225 for seven months I went to the dentist to get a filling replaced. I was told by the dentist's office that this was basically a discount company. I thought I understood that they would cover a big portion of a bridge that I needed when I needed to have something done. They would pay NOTHING. For the filling was going to cost me $375 by the dentist. The dentist said that Solstice would paying NOTHING. And this doctor was supposedly in the plan! This company is a scam. They end up covering NOTHING because they''re 'DEDUCTIBLES" are so high. Save your money!

My rating for Solstice Dental is zero stars. If there are any stars selected here, it may be as a default to enable posting a review. I was sent email payment balances from the company to be paid, without a membership card sent to me, to get the preventative care I d enrolled for. After the first month of payment and not receiving a member card I tried calling the with an vioce-automated option to call a line for existing members, and had no luck getting through as I was unable to get an answer. I figured that they would not turn away callers on the line for individuals looking to purchase a plan, and I was correct in thinking so as I was successful in reaching a gentleman who seemed very helpful in finding my information in the system and assuring to send me a membership card after confirming my address. Almost a month later I ve received another bill via email stating my balance to be paid, and I have yet to see any postage with my card from Solstice to take advantage of the alleged services offered. I also have no copies of policy benefits, coverage, or anything else for that matter, only balances owed. I should ve checked the online reviews here before signing up with this coverage, as my suspicions of questioning this company s legitimacy after my brief experience are now clarified after reading other similar experiences posted. God bless the internet.
