Credit card debt was getting out of hand and I was...

Credit card debt was getting out of hand and I was not in a position to claim bankruptcy; which is something that I really didn't want to do. I didn't want to "stick" my creditors, but I needed help to get out of the hole I created; so I contacted National Debt Relief.

I spoke with Andrew R and he explained the program to me in a language I could understand. Andrew, along with everyone associated with customer service, has been extremely helpful and courteous.

It has been less than 6 months and I have received notice of my first resolution with a major credit card company. Yes, I still have a ways to go, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I followed the instructions given to me by Andrew, and I am pleased to report that I have received "zero" phone calls from creditors or collectors. Yes there has been some minor reminders in mailings from 1 or 2, but all in all, nothing to speak of.

I have read several reviews concerning NDR, and I fell it necessary to let you know that my experience has been nothing but positive.

Do not go with National Debt Relief! You will be in a worst situation after your debt is settle. Here is an example of one of my debt settlements: Amount of Debt $4,556 Their Fee $956.76 Settlement amount $2050,11. After doing the math I actually paid 66% of this debt including their fee. Now get this, they report this to the IRS as income since they settle and saved me $2505.70. Remember I paid 66%, now I have to turn around and pay taxes on the savings. Additionally, you pay customer and transaction Fee s. How does this help you? 2 ways this can help you. Do not get in DEBT!!! and Do not go with National Debt Relief!!! You will save a ton of money doing this yourself or utilizing other options. When all said and done my only saving is $1550 not including customer and transaction fee s

I have been with NDR since March of 2014. The contract you sign outlines all the payments you will make to a Global Client Solutions Account. It also shows all the transfer fees you will be charged. The settlement amounts are estimates because the debts you have on the cards will go up by the time you have enough in your account for the to make a settlement agreement. I had 6 CC I enrolled with, and I just got the 5th one settled.

I have not been sued by any creditor and have so far only received one 1099-C form. I might get more next year but that all depends on the creditors and not NDR.

Some of the operators are hard to understand, they have a thick new yorker accent and they talk fast to make sure they several everything they are legally required to say. It sucks because where I live I have bad phone reception as it is and have dropped calls from the before. Anytime you email customer support with a question they tell you to call them for the best help and maybe give you a quick half answer in the email.

Global Client Solutions has a website you can log into and see the account balance, all the fees collected, and transfers made. NDR has a client portal on their site but it isn't working yet and every time I ask about it they say I will get an email when it is working.

There was one incident where they took out their payment twice in the same month which caused me to be overdrawn on my account. They were slow to respond and kept saying they would put money back in my account and take care of the bank fee. I was almost late paying other bills because it took them a few days to do it. I ended up getting a call from the VP or someone higher up apologizing and he transferred the money back while I was on the phone with him. He also knocked off one or two percent of their fee.

The company is not perfect and could do things for better customer service. They say they will help you with everything along the way but not always. The only 1099-C form I received so far came after I filed my taxes this year. I didn't know what to do with it and I emailed them asking. Their response was they can't always say what creditors will send one. Didn't say a thing about how I am supposed to claim it on my taxes much less after I've already filed and got my tax return. Luckily I hadn't spent any of it. I ended up using turbo tax to make an amendment and I sent all the info, a check, and a letter explaining what happened to the IRS and the IRS sent a letter back saying everything was good after that.

Even with some of the issues I saved money on the cards that have been settled so far. I could only afford the minimum payments, and with the interest rates on them, I would've ended paying $36,000 or slightly more. So far after settling the first 4 cards and including their fees I've spent $8478.04. I haven't received the letter for the 5th card so I can't say for sure what my total is with that one. I won't know for sure how much I will spend settling all my debts but so far it is cheaper than paying only the minimum payments and struggling.

It is now 9/29/2016. They have resolved my last debt. They originally told me I would be done with the program 11/24/16 and that will still be my last payment. The did add a few more payments in for next month because the amount the cards settled for are higher than anticipated. It works better than paying longer. Just be aware that towards the end of your scheduled payments they may have to make changes to get everything paid.

Many people in life undergo trying times when it involves debt. Thanks to National Debt Relief I have been able to understand that not is all lost when you are overwhelmed with credit card debt. They help break down the whole process on how to attack and eliminate your debt. It's been about two years since I started and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend National Debt Relief to help you resolve your credit issues.

The customer service is phenomenal! I am just beginning in the program, and have talked solely with Bruno. Every single question that I had/have has been answered professionally and timely. I am very pleased so far, and I am looking forward to getting rid of this debt and having peace of mind.

I have never used this service, and recommend no one else does either. The ridiculous proposal they suggested would have cost me thousands for nothing. I was better off hiring my own attorney who immediately intervened and resolved my issues. Yes this company can get you settlements, but the fees they charge to do so make the offer less than favorable. In the end you will be paying more than it's worth.

The first phone call I received regarding my last creditor was a tad confusing. I asked to return the call the next day, which I did and was explained very well the terms in a manner I understood. The agreement was handled professionally and with care. Thank you

Been in this program for less than a year but I can honestly say that they have put up with my indecisiveness as I started the program and continue to go through it. They have did their part in the sense of negotiating with creditors. So hard part for me was not contacting creditors as they would call or send mail that seem to be very threatening. However speaking to the counselor and getting updates helps a lot with going through that and trying to solve my debt so I am very grateful for them.

National Debt Relief is my salvation to no stress about my credit card debt. It is putting on the road to better credit card management. I love it!!! I have recommended NDR to all my friends and family.

Initially a rocky start with little explanation of procedural information or how the system really works. When settlement information came in the rate of repayment was about 50% on average of my debt. That was great!! Of course, that will all be negated if the government cancels Social Security and Medicare. All in all, I am satisfied with National Debt Relief and they seem to be picking up steam in the settlements department with more one on one telephone calls.

This company makes money by coercing creditors into lowering your debt through black mail and manipulation. If you go with this route, your credit score will drop and you will most likely be sued by creditors. They do not follow their signed documentation. They invent extra rules and red tape that they require you to go through without ever telling you about said rules.

National Debt Relief has been an answer to prayers. I got in over my head with a couple credit cards and didn't think I had a way out. I saw their advertisement and thought I'd give them a call...MAN am I glad I did! Within less than a year they made settlements with 2 of the 3 creditors I enrolled with them. The settlements they reached were reasonable and for considerably lower amounts. I've been able to breath again. National Debt Relief has made it possible for me to hit a reset button in my financial life and start over with a clean slate. THANK YOU National Debt Relief!!! Roy Cathey Fayetteville, NC

Worst company . V end up the same amount v owed . V paid all the installments and then suddenly they said v have another bill which needs to be paid . So Att the actual bill was 800 and now with interest had gone up to 1700.

If you're faithful to the plan, NDR works. I've made my payments each month and it appears I'm on schedule to pay of all my debts slightly ahead of schedule. The customer service is fantastic. In fact, I've always had the feeling that NDR genuinely cares about helping its clients. While corporations are profit-driven, it's nice to find one that appears people driven.

Funny just got off the phone with one of the reps parcticuly insulted my intelligence when I asked about the application. Got defensive real quick and basically told me well if you don t want to join the program o well for someone who is trying to resolve issues and get ahead this company didn t help. My first impression shows me how sneaky this company can be. Not to mention the reviews I m reading WOW. Yeah I will find someway to work on my debt but definitely not with this company that s for sure.

I was skeptical at first feeling like I made another bad choice but when I started to receive positive feedback from the staff of National Debt Relief that few of my creditors had reached out to them for a settlement I was thrilled. My credit scores took a beaten but that's part of the process and yes I would recommend this service and the representative are kind and friendly.

Well you could always call and deal with all your creditors yourself or just make the one phone call and have these amazing, kind, caring, and considerate people do it for you. Out of ... $25,000 in debt in about 2 years. I'm amazed and soo glad its over. Soo quick and hope I NEVER need them again. Though I will know who to call if I must .

Usually my experience with NDR has been super positive, up until this past week they would've been 5 stars (at the least 4.5 stars), but I'm a little disappointed after this last phone call...
I kept telling the NDR Rep on the phone that I currently wasn't in a position to talk and copy down information, at the very least make any big decisions. Yet, she kept insisting on getting me to agree and follow along and spitting out numbers and dates at me, and I had no calendar in front of me, let alone a piece of paper and pen to jot down notes..
I was put on hold for a very long time and it was making me run behind to a meeting I was about to go into. And after the phone call (the 1st one) was completed, so I thought... I got another call from the same rep about 6 min later because she had missed some pretty crucial information that I should've known.
On top of this one bad experience with this individual, I've suddenly lost a little faith in the whole system of it all. A majority of our conversation was basically asking me for more money and additional payments, which goes against the reason why I'm a client of theirs in the first place .. some big ridiculous numbers were thrown out at me (and again, I wasn't properly prepared to take all that info at once)
When simply my call should've been to just accept or decline the agreement they had reached on my behalf. Overall, I'm really impressed with the professionalism and courtesy I've been shown since becoming an NDR client. However, this last phone call with one of their reps has me questioning still being there and wether or not I would recommend them to anyone else ....

POSITIVE: I want to start off by saying I saved $17k with national debt relief so great choice to do this program. Less than a week after I got my correct amount of money into the savings account I had an offer. Pretty nice one too. Staff sometimes gives two different answers so watch that but majority give you the same answers. I don t regret the decision as it only took 6 months.

NEGATIVE: Going into it I was told they PREFER you to have 25-40% of your loan paid before they call your creditor. Prefer is the wrong word. They simply won t do it until you have 25%. They submit requests to call early but none of those requests will be answered. So make sure you know how long it will take you to get 25% of your loan amount. They say 4-6 months but depends on individual people and loan amounts.

My credit score still says 728 so either my bank is way off or my credit was never affected. Still working on this one so if you re worried about credit I don t have much to add on this topic.

Overall I would recommend the program. I didn t mind dragging my credit through the mud for a few months to save a major amount of cash but some people do. It s all preference. If you take nothing from this post Just make sure you have 25% of your loan amount. Quicker you get that the quicker the offer comes!

My final piece of info on this topic is that my loan was negotiated and I didn t have to pay $9k. The IRS will count that as income for the year as cancelled debt. So come tax time it may or may not be a good thing.

Every time I call, the rep is very pleasant, courteous and helpful. It's truly the dissemination of a company culture to be kind and helpful to all customers. Every rep has treated me with the same non judgemental courtesy with an objective view to my situation. Your training seems to work and the objectives you seem to instill in your reps works! Thank you for your help and support. I find myself in a delicate situation and all of you have been extremely understanding and helpful. I hope you are able to help all those who may need you and that they know about you! Thanks. Yasmin.

The staff was very informative and the results were quicker than I'd expected!!! The stress from debt was overwhelming and I was ready to give up. This is an amazing company and they're seriously the best!!! I'd spoken with many consolidating companies before and until I called this one I was over it and getting ready to just ruin my financial life. I'm so thankful for this company!

So far so good. I was getting a little discouraged with the slow start but things have started to get settled and I am looking forward to being done with the debt I had gotten into. The representatives have never been rude or made me feel awful for having my life take a different turn and for me being unable to settle the debt myself. I am hopefully that things will get resolves and I will be able to turn my credit score around and be debt free relatively quickly.

Great company to work with. They helped me a lot with my debt. I was able to pay off a couple of credit cards and some installment loans as well. I feel better and financially I am doing better. There monthly payments are very reasonable and they can help you if you have any questions. I recommend them.

It s long but please read BEFORE you start the program. Please! Be smarter than me! Learn from my mistakes!

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! Now I have terrible credit and I ve paid exactly what I owed plus some.

See, because they don t cancel your card (credit card example) right away you still get late fees every month. Then the interest rate increases to the highest level it can and that starts racking up. You stop making payments (to them, you are still making payments to a bank account you can t access) and just wait... then months go by, hundreds of additional dollars are added to your debt. THEN they reach an agreement. They will settle your debt, here is the important part YOUR CURRENT DEBT! Not the debt you started with. Example: Say you owe $1,200 on a credit card, 6 months of interest and late fees your debt is much higher by then. So now you owe $1,700 rather than $1,200. So they reach an agreement with your credit card company to settle for 2/3rds of the debt (they boast settling for 50% but of the 7 debts I put into the program ONLY the first one was settlers for 50%, and that was 50% of what it was after they reached an agreement, NOT what it was when I started the program! So they settle for 2/3rd the current debt. That s roughly $1200-1300... depending on your interest rates and your late fees. So they ve settled for what you owed originally plus a little. Ok, so you are paying the debt you owed anyway... no oh.. wait! They charge a fee, how do you think these companies stay open?!? Their fee is 1/3rd of the debt they settled, so that s about $350. So the first thing that occurs is they call you and give you congratulations that one of your debts has been negotiated for a settlement. So you get all excited! So you end up paying $1600 for a debt that was originally $1,200. Not a celebration. So that s just the first few. After they settle a few more then they say that the funds you are depositing each month are not enough. So they say in order to make this deal work, we need an additional $150 a month. How can you make that work? Did you suddenly get promoted to VP of your company?? NOPE! You can t! So you tell them! Then they say ok let me work the numbers and somehow magically make it where you won t need those additional funds! They ve worked it out where their fee comes out after your debt it paid. But you still owe it.

I m sorry if this is confusing... I just want people to understand what they are getting into. How about this?!? Before you set everything up with NDR call each of your debtors and tell them you are in a bad situation. Ask them if they can work with you to prevent you from destroying your credit and still making you able to feed your kids. They want to be paid so they will work with you. Try this PLEASE before you start this program. Please.

I don't recommend this place. I finally got financially stable and no longer need the program.
I have since July 4 th having been calling repeatedly for my refund and they keep telling me 3_5 business days. it's currently July 14th no refund I just got off the phone with them again and guess what. I have to wait another 5 businesses days. If it's not in there this time I will take legal action. This is supposed to help you get out of debt this is the last time I let a company hold my money.
Edit: finally got my money adding two stars just be careful letting people handle and negotiate your money.

I'm sure it works for some people, but with me their confusion made things worse. I started up with them, paid my first payment. I was told to drop all communication with the credit companies and let them handle the negotiations once my accounts were behind. I did join this prior to my accounts collapsing because I knew it was inevitable. About a month later I was told that one of my loans was a secured loan, which we had talked about previously and came to the conclusion at the time that it was not. So okay, after they took that loan off the account with them, they then informed me that I didn't have enough debt to be enrolled. So at this point I had purposely stopped making payments and my accounts were way behind. Well to this day I'm still behind on these accounts now with no way to catch up. Thanks a lot.
