It's great. Comfortable, quiet, cozy and central. We were there all last week and if I could I would come back the next.
It's great. Comfortable, quiet, cozy and central. We were there all last week and if I could I would come back the next.
The ambience is cool and the drinks are alright, but the food is not great at all.
The staff was very nice. The rooms are dated but there was a massage chair that was superb.
Nice place, a little tricky the check in and out proccess...
Maximum 2 stars ... dark and dreary room. Overlooking a tiny interior patio, room Without air and with noises of extractors that make it impossible to sleep. The carpeted walls and floor and the carpet with dirt, breaks and stains. All loose plugs and loose wires. At reception, no one spoke Spanish and they were very rough and very unfriendly. except the girl who was involved in airport transfers. The only good thing is the location. Hence the two stars of valuation.
If you need somewhere to lay your head and aren't worried about a bunch of amenities this place is pretty good. Staff seems friendly and courteous too
I put 3 stars for the location.
Null breakfast when you arrive after 8am there is no room and refueling is rare.
Mattresses of very poor quality.
Room on hyper dark courtyard.
Wifi pay in the room in the lobby it does not work for free.
Great location to explore the city. The rooms are clean and correct but not very big. Nice bar to relax after a sightseeng day.
Small rooms. Clean. Pleasant staff. Close to everything.
clean. a small bathroom, but gets the job done. beds were a little old and sank in the middle. service was nice. everyone was very nice and helpful.
Fatal, an incredibly bad room. It had humidity on two walls. The carpet with a terrible smell. I would never return.
This hotel was very clean, the room had a small sitting area with a TV that was very nice. There was free coffee which was amazing. Overall I had a good nights rest. Would stay again.
The hotel is in the very center of Manhattan, close to Central Park. The room they gave me had a large and comfortable bed, huge bathroom, 2 tvs, and a sofa. All day long it's pretty quiet. Given the price, I was not expecting anything more.
Very clean and correct room. Absolutely ideal location
Medium breakfast
Hotel well located near Central Park. No breakfast on the spot
Nothing to say except the breakfast: terrible and no hygiene!
We were staying 10 days and they were perfect. The spacious room with everything that is needed, the great attention, I especially mention Gina, who treated us wonderfully. In the morning they have free coffee machines available to customers in the hall and, in the afternoon, lemonade and pastries. The location is excellent. Cleanliness 10. If I ever return to the city (I hope so), I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation
Amazing location and view. We have the 8th floor!!! I loved all the restaurants close by
We stayed here for 4 days from 7/18. Honestly we were nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews leading up to our stay. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was a bit roomier than just a one bedroom. Now don't get me wrong, the room/suite was basic but not so much that we weren't comfortable. It could also use some updating but again, we were comfortable. The room was clean and neat, however we always use our disinfecting wipes to go over the bathroom, phone and countertops anyway, but it was just fine. The bathroom was kind of small and narrow, but it was quite adequate. In our bathroom there was actually a shower stall with jet showers from the sides as well as overhead, and then there was a tub with a shower - quite nice. We read somewhere that the beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. In our room the bed was really very comfortable, when we got back home my husband said he misses the bed at the hotel and we have an expensive bed. Our teenager slept on the sofabed (glad we bought sheets for that as it had a few stains on it) and she said it was very comfortable. Our sheets and towels were changed everyday and our room neatened up. Now there was a kind of massage chair that was in the room which we didn't use, that was definitely old and could be thrown out - it was a bit of an eyesore.
The other thing that needs to go is the fabric type of headboard, along with the fabric covering the wall that houses the tv in the bedroom. Anything that is fabric like that, in my opinion can be a breeding ground for bugs and moisture, plus it looks old and there were some stains on it.
All the staff from the folks who graceiously clean the rooms to the front desk staff and doormen were so friendly and professional - we were very pleased.
Quite honestly for the location of this hotel, one block from Central Park I don't think one could ask for anything more. After all when you're on vacation in NY, you hardly spend much time in your room. My family and I would highly recommend this hotel at least from our experience in our room and would definitely stay here again. In fact I would love to stay in the same room. Thank you to all the staff at The Shoreham Hotel for making our stay a very pleasant one. Ms Andrene McColough and your staff; I called a few times because I was worried about the hotel and room. You were all so patient and very accurate in your description of your property - thanks again!!
The hotel was really the best decision! The location is great, the most important things are within walking distance, the staff was always helpful and friendly! The rooms were clean, not too big, but adequate and the WiFi worked well. Only the background noise of New York is of course inevitable. Luckily we had a room on the 9th floor, the noise wasn't too bad, but the windows are really not the tightest.
Even when our flight was postponed to 24 hours later, a solution was immediately found and we could stay one night longer, all in all really recommendable!
I loved the cleanliness of the hotel. The front desk clerks were always nice and informative no matter what time of day. The room was spacious and well lit. Next trip we will be staying here again. The location is also close to the park and shopping.
Clean bathrooms, tiny bedrooms. It's a good location, short walks to central Park and Times Square, but the hotel rooms are very, very small. Staff are friendly, there is a small bar on site.
Very close to time square and Central Park. Clean rooms and free wifi in the lobby
Location is great, 10 minutes walk to Times Square, 2 minutes to Central Park. Unfortunately, no coffee maker or kettle in the room, rooms are very clean, staff very nice.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, the bedroom and bathroom were ok, the living area very small, just a sofa and a tv
Wi-Fi is very expensive and not included in the price.
10 minutes walk from time square clean room good bedding breakfast ok
Very well located, it is a pleasant place with impeccable rooms.
Hotel staff is very nice, we had a noise problem in the room and they fixed it super fast. The truth is that the room is passable, and the hotel in general, the Hotel, is a budget hotel, but super well connected if you want to visit NY. If you do not expect any finesse, and you just want the hotel to sleep and shower, it is the perfect one for its location.
The location is pretty great and the reception area is nice enough, the room is pretty clean but rather small and dark (smaller and darker than other NYC hotels charging the same) and everything seems old and close to falling apart. Some covers on the elevators are tilted/open, some lightbulbs are broken here and there...
A/C controls are ancient, wifi costs $15/day, they hold a deposit of $100 PER DAY (which I haven't seen done in ages) even though my trip was fully paid for in advance, and they apparently charge $250 PER DAY for cleaning if you ever smoke in the room (I don't smoke, but I have a real hard time understanding why this charge needs to be per day and why they call it out specifically when checking in)
Reception staff was standard, not exceptionally friendly/helpful as stated in some other reviews...
Would I stay here again? Unlikely
Hotel 4 stars small but good clean central continental breakfast buffet at usd 13 a May 2019 internal temperature problem very high Room
Overall experience was good but the rooms are pretty small and crowded, we initially received a room with no window in the room, just like staying in a closet. They were nice enough to change it and the staff was very pleasant. The breakfast is the poorest i've ever seen in all my travels. It's not worth to pay for it.
Nice hotel with a modern feel but a little worn. Bathrooms in rooms are excellent with full-length mirror in some (if you're into that) and a stand-up Jacuzzi shower in others. Great place to stay with fair rates. Lobby restaurant has B health rating (at the time of this review).
Reasonably priced room for a surprisingly large room. Separate spaces to sleep and a 2 bath restroom made it a solid midtown hotel. TV wasnt that clear though.
Times square is walkable, very close to central park. Room is small but clean. Bathroom is odd.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located fairly central to most big attractions in New York. They did have some very noisy pipework rattling in the nights but nothing major. The shower was amazing! Never felt so clean
Very clean rooms. Friendly check in. Once again, don't expect Plaza service if you aren't paying Plaza rates.....
This urban modern conversion hotel is nice enough, the rooms are on the small side, as is NY, however the cofffie machine is one of the best, the bar is cleverly unassuming, and the location is killer, could use a fresh coat of paint, and some drywall corners repaired but over all not bad.
Meh, no HDMI ports on TV and only like 2 outlets across the entire suite. Food and drinks from the refrigerator are expensive.
Location:
The accommodation is just unbeatable in the center. Right on Central Park, if you want to escape the madness for a moment, but also right on 5th avenue, Rockefeller Center and Times Square.
Room:
We had the smallest room and that was great for 2 people with a baby for a city trip. Very clean!
Hair dryer, iron, ironing board and safe available.
The water jet in the shower was amazing! If you turned it all the way up, you had a high-pressure cleaner that blasted your tan off your skin again. For real!! But we preferred it the other way around and so there was a neck massage for free in the evening
Unfortunately no kettle in the room. Not so great for baby food. Had thought about buying a kettle at Best Buy for $ 15, but the hotel always had a pot of hot water for us at the bar. Very friendly!
The door to the room does not insulate well. Unfortunately, that can't be said nicely. You can hear everything that happens in the corridor. However, the hotel is relatively small so it is not often that someone walks across the corridor.
Air conditioning and ventilation are quite loud. But after a day through the noisy city you hardly hear it anymore.
Room service was very friendly (short small talk at the elevator was always included) and provided us with fresh bed linen and towels every day. Our son's cuddly toy was lovingly placed in his bed. Really great!
In general, the staff was very helpful and friendly. You had the feeling to have ended up in a family where you were warmly welcomed.
Breakfast:
Read a lot of bad comments about this before our stay, but I have to clear that up: The continental breakfast was very extensive !!
It's continental breakfast! Most of them get big eyes at this breakfast description and look forward to a varied and extensive breakfast. But continental breakfast is NOT an American breakfast!
A continental breakfast actually only consists of bread, rolls or croissants, butter, jam and tea or coffee.
Here you can also get small pieces of puff pastry, fresh bagles, eggs, various juices, warm waffles, yogurt, Nutella, Philadelphia and fresh fruit.
And if you want to have breakfast with bacon, you have to pay extra. We thought it was really great! The coffee is delicious and there are also to-go cups to take away.
Internet:
WiFi was still associated with costs when booking. On arrival the hotel had changed over. WiFi is now free and was really good! We could turn on Netflix and Co. without any problems. No problem.
With baby:
Baby bed was great! Made of metal, stable, good mattress, very high grid, so that it is also suitable for slightly older children and on castors, so that you could move the bed easily (very practical in a smaller room)
There was a high chair in the breakfast room.
The staff was completely in love with our little rascal. You feel very welcome here with your baby!
Lobby:
There was always coffee, hot water for tea (or baby food, really great!), And cold water with lemon to take away.
Incidentally, lifts are also very fast.
Superb hotel where we stayed during our trip to New York. Super home, gorgeous room
probably the worst hotel I have been, I did not think that a four-star could offer such a combination of rudeness, lack of professionalism, and the ugliness of rooms and common areas! b & b breakfast, unacceptable prices
Nice hotel. Bad matress. Not Internet included. Not good tv for intl visitors.
Great location and friendly staff. Rooms are clean, just wish there was free WiFi in the rooms but no real complaints here. I'd stay there again.
Nice enough, not sure I'd rate it 4 stars but a solid enough option
Cool Hotel, very trendy. Breakfast wasn't worth the price. Luckily their is several choices in close proximity.
Small room with horrible view and little fresh air. No free wifi in room
Omg the worse experience!!
The two ladies at the front Desk were very rude. One of them had a very bad attitude and very discriminating. There was a small mixup with the reservation between the Hotel and and Priceline as there were 2 name on the reservation mine and my wife. When she (M Martinez) noticed my wife was a TRANS WOMAN she got a terrible attitude. First she TRIED to demote us to a standard room when I booked A SUITE. THIS TYPE OF TRANSPHOBIC ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE, ITS NOT FAIR!! JUST BC MY WIFE IS A TRANSEXUAL WOMAN MS MARTINEZ ENDED UP SAYING THAT THE HOTEL HAD NO MORE ROOMS AVAILABLE IN HOPES THAT PRICELINE WOULD RELOCATE US!!
ALL MY GLBT COMUINITY THIS HOTEL IS VERY RUDE TO US IF U EVER FEEL DISCRIMINATED WE HAVE RIGHTS AND THE LAW WILL PROTECT US
For the price it's a really good value. No frills, small rooms but modern and clean. Very satisfied with our stay
For sure a good hotel to stay in! I stayed here and liked the location and super cool lobby and bar. Check it out!
We stayed here in June 2017
The hotel is very centrally located ... everyone already knows that.
The staff is friendly and helpful ....... well the rest.
Our suite was a bit "worn out", small ... everything looks better in the photos than in reality.
Espresso machine .. where ????
many write about free coffee ... we didn't have it on request ... only from 5pm 2x water and biscuits ...
The hotel description also said champagne, prosecco free on arrival ?????? not with us...
We were 6 people and had a very narrow suite with 2 rooms ... they were ok ... mini living room with sofa ... an extra bed didn't fit in really well ... you couldn't move at all ... not good either sleep ... deluxe bed linen, down pillows? ..
View from the 4th floor .. Courtyard with huge, noisy air conditioning.
Minibar ... empty, iron-ok ... this suite for 6 is an impertinence ... 2 rooms would have been better.
The bathroom was clean with a shower and a bathtub. Enough towels. None
Storage option
The service staff very helpful ... Thank you.
Still ... another visit ... no thanks
The staff was friendly, the room was small but clean, no chairs other than a desk chair. The only really negative I have regarding this experience is that rather than charging us upon check-in for the entire stay (which I would have been completely fine with), they put a hold on our debit card for the entire stay plus $100/night deposit and then wanted us to pay for the stay at check-out while the hold for $700+ was still on our account, making it impossible for us to do as this was $700 out of our budget. This created a problem for us (as anyone who has budgeted for a trip can understand); if I would have been told upfront this was what they were doing, I would have worked it out then. Instead, we had to find out upon check-out and were embarrassed because we did not budget an extra $700 for our trip and we had to scramble to pay this. Other than that, it was a great location and we enjoyed the stay. Oh, and great pillows!!
It's a great, affordable midtown Manhattan hotel located conveniently between 5th & 6th, close to multiple subway stops, and restaurants and a couple grocery options. It isn't anything fancy, but is great, especially for people familiar with the city that basically just need a clean, safe, convenient place to crash at night.
Great location. Excellent staff. Hotel a little dated that needs restiling. Who then has the misfortune of having a room that gives nothing inside the palace trumpet, as we will have to endure day and night, the noises of the numerous air conditioners that are positioned in the 10 floors of the hotel. Good price. Recommended? Ni, for what concerns our personal experience, after two months from the return we have not yet had in the back the bail that they take for the damages possibly caused. Make it clear at your arrival and get a deposit receipt.
Good attention and the best .... in the room there is a reclinomatic with massages ... spectacular !!
Used Expedia to book hotel it was listed as four stars but far from it room had water damage walls were disgustingly dirty and to top it off there was NO MANAGER AT NIGHT and was advised by the front desk to change my own bed sheets after I complained the room was dirty.
Great location, comfortable room, big bathroom and new
Very good hotel and excellent location in the best place in NYC, from there everything you can do walking
Great location, super friendly staff. Rooms a little on the smallish side but it's New York, you won't spend that much time in it anyway.
Nice hotel near central Park and at walking distance from Times Square. The room is small but it has everything that's necessary, minus the wifi which is not free unless you stay in the hotel hall.
I get to this hotel and I am supposed to have a kind size bed, instead i get a twin size bed, no tub, i had no towels in the room. I had to call down and ask for them,
The heater didnt work in the room , They were supposed to send someone to fix, never happenned.
This was the worst experience for a hotel I have ever had. This was my first time in New York as well, very upsetting with the way the hotel treated us.
Small rooms.
No free wifi in rooms.
There are three things I like about this hotel: location, wifi, and value. I would definitely stay here again.
It's not the fanciest hotel in Manhattan but it offered a decent room at a competitive rate, with good free wifi for sending emails and sharing pictures. The room we stayed in had a small double bed but it was thoroughly cleaned every day. All the staff we dealt with was attentive and friendly.
If you're like me and prefer to save your money for eating out and other experiences, then you could do much worse that to stay at the Shoreham.
Mostly clean is the best I can say. Location is good but so would any hotel in South Central Park. Service was unhelpful but at least they smile.
Just had a lovely stay, Gina on reception was lovely too! Bathroom a little small, and no free WiFi in rooms. (free in lobby) cookies and fruit water on weekdays. Great location in midtown
Wi-Fi a mission never takes, the room on 3 nights redone only once .. only the location is ok
Foutage de gueule a 4 stars never in the life cache light missing the acsenceurs are well damaged the room very vigilant it is not by putting a large screen (blurry in passing) that it gives more hidden.
The breakfast blah the melon was to be on sale during our visit except that not ripe.
The bathroom only one shampoo for two blah average.
Pleasant staff saving the furniture hence the 2 stars.
Plays a lot on its geographical position.
Love this hotel. It is close to every attraction in Manhattan. Very affordable and clean.
Very disappointed rooms otherwise for the rest ok and nice staff
Well placed, rates related. Clean and warm welcome.
Very good hotel. Magnificent location you need a little remidelation but this is good.
