Nice hotel. They hit you with a ton of fees. The daily $25 hotel fee is rediculous. They also did not have air conditioning at night. They said it was because they turned the heat on....It was in the 80's during the day so it was very hot in the room. But I guess they thought some people would want heat at night. Room was about 76 degrees all night. And we didn't have hot water in the morning.

If any one is trying to find great deals for hotel rooms check . made a reservation for a hotel on there and they had the best prices just about anywhere!

I ve stay at this hotel multiple times either in Queens bedroom suite or the suite with the privacy balcony! Staff members are amazing and the rooms are just as amazing!!!

This hotel was okay. All of the staff except one was really friendly. The drain to our tub was plugged. I assumed there was some issue with the plumbing in the hotel because the housekeeping staff didn't have it fixed. You would think if they were washing the tub out they would notice it and have it fixed. Finally after the third day I couldn't stand it anymore and I contacted the front desk and they sent someone up to fix it right away.

There were areas on the walls that were streaked with dust and dirt. It looked like the attempted to wash the walls but there was so much dust that it got wet and dried that way. As well there was a significant amount of grime around the faucet and overflow drain in the tub. For some reason they only stalked our coffee bar with decaf coffee until the third day. You have to ask the front desk for ice and it takes a long time to come up so if you're wanting a drink at the end of the day it can be quite inconvenient. One time I asked for ice and they said it would be up in 10 minutes and they never came. We left for supper and I had to ask for it again when I came back. We ordered the Fresh Express as well and it wasn't there waiting for us when we got there we had to request it and they delivered it on the second day.

Overall the experience was alright however I do not believe that we should have had to harass them in order to have our basic needs met.

stayed at the Affinia Shelburne given I could not find a suitable Airbnb for my stay. The location is perfect - Murray Hill a few blocks from Grand Central Station and the heart of midtown. The hotel features a cheerful bar/restaurant with good service. While the room and bathroom were average in size, it featured a kitchen area with a microwave, counter and refrigerator which was convenient. The free WiFi is a plus and the concierge service is very friendly.

The good: location, location, location. Nice receptionists and free wine in the afternoon. The bed was also comfortable enough. The not-so-good: the room is in urgent need of updating. From peeling chair to desk drawer that refuses to open, there's much to be done to match the 4-star category to which the hotel presumably belongs.

Excellent service while I was in NYC. Had a few quotes and the guys at reception were so kind, respectful and produce a happy atmosphere around the lobby. Very nice hotel with a great roof top view and lobby area. My room was fantastic! Awesome view and beds were made well! The restaurant, 'rare' is highly recommended if you love American meats and is said to be one of the popular restaurants known to taxi drivers. And as we know, there's thousands and thousands of taxi drivers in NYC. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!
However, I would say that it is kid friendly, as you'll have to be over 21 after, I believe it's 5pm to go onto the roof top and that is mainly because of the vast range of drinking options up there.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough. One of the best hotel values located in NYC. The service is excellent. The rooms are updated and contemporary but still comfortable. Downstairs next door you will find a great restaurant if your in need of a gourmet burger or a good steak. This is a great hotel with great service at a good price.

Great hotel with a modern interior and friendly staff. There s a nice roof top bar with a view of the Empire State Building . The rooms were very nice and spacious for NYC. My only complaint is that the elevators were slow but again that s someone expected.

I received a great rate from the Hotel Tonight app. I used the room for a one night get away for my girlfriend and myself. The room was big, spacious and clean. The bed was big and comfortable and everything worked as it should (A/C, facilities, etc.) The room did not have a mini-bar, which, even though I knew in advance, was a little inconvenient. Although, they did have amenities for snacks and a ping pong table down in the lobby. Many of the Direct TV channels in my room were not getting a clear signal but I figure most people wouldn't notice. The hotel is in a great part of town that is pretty central to some of the more sought out/trendy areas of Manhattan, even though the nearest train is 4 to 5 blocks away. Other than those few minor issues, my experience at the Shelbourne was great. I would definitely stay there again or recommend it to a friend.

The hotel staff was fabulous. The location is very central to most attractions. However, there is no ice unless you order from room service, no glasses to have your drinks, the refrigerator in the room was broken and no microwave unless you go to employees lounge in the basement. Other than that the staff tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible.

Nice hotel, reasonable rates (for NYC anyway), good mid town location. The rooms are comfortable. The walls could stand being a bit thicker, but they do have earplugs in the bed side table. Decent on site restaurant. Staff is very helpful. I will definitely stay again.

Very friendly staff and comfortable beds. The rooms are very nice but basic and meet standard requirements. Great for a couple who intends to spend their time exploring the city as the location is nothing short of perfect.

In our opinion the perfect hotel for getting around Manhattan.
Friendly staff, welcomed our requests with professionalism and cordiality.
Large and clean room. Shower with shallow tub and hot water and fully functional adjustable room temperature.
5 minutes from Grand Central Station. Rooftop open in the hottest periods with excellent views.
We will certainly return and recommend it.

Good hotel in a great location. Good sized rooms, some with a fridge and microwave. Downside is a $25/day "service fee" which gives you Wi-Fi and a $10 "credit" at their "corner cupboard" where 2 small bottles (237 ml) pops will come to $10.

Front desk staff was friendly and rooms are nice. Valley parking is a bit high. we parked our vehicle at 9is on Friday, called down for our car just before 9, didn't get it til about 10. Which lead to them charging is for 2 days of parking. Was not very happy to pay 120 for parking. The Restaurant staff was rude and food was a little pricy.
Rooms nice, clean and comfortable.

We stayed for one night as we were boarding our cruise ship the next day, hotel is in a good location, we found the female receptionist could have been more pleasant, asked if we could be on the same floor as them, we were told no rooms available, on entering our room which was a good size although the bathroom was small, we did have an issue with the bathroom, once you pushed the plug into the sink you couldn't get it out, even the maintenance man couldn't do it, we were offered another room and guess which floor the same as our friends, very comfortable bed and lovely white towels.
The concierge David was very cheerful, friendly and polite, we didn't have any meals in the hotel.
Would recommend for the location of the hotel.

Great location close to 42st and subway stations. You can feel safe in the area. Room is decent size and well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick check in/out. High quality of daily cleaning. Worth to consider if you stay at Manhattan.

This hotel is the absolutely worst hotel that I have stayed in NYC, they are good at being rude to their customers, making up charges at check-in that they don't disclose at the time of the booking, and charging $10 for bottle of water. To be fair, their bellman staff was courteous, so the two stars are for the friendly service they provided during my stay.

Avoid this hotel at all costs, rooms are outdated, you will pay additional $40/night on top of your booking rate, and worst of all you will be treated by rude staff who act like as they are doing you a favor by just talking to you when you walk up to check-in/out.

Great place to stay in a great location. Not the greatest prices because you have the extra Newyork charge on top of the room charge but that s just how Newyork works. Besides the extra charge I thought the hotel was clean and quiet (for the location). The room service was wonderful and the house keeping did great! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The hotel overall . We have been enjoying our room and the bed is super comfortable, along with the pillows and heavy weighted blankets. We didn't want to get up at all. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the room as well, even though there is some wear and tear in some parts of the room. The best part for me is that there is metered parking right on the side of the building, which = free parking after 7, that a good deal to me. They do offer valet parking, but I didn't look into that. The lobby area is mostly dead, which might seem appealing to some, BUT I must say the price for a soda bottle... $6? Yeah, umm... no.

do not overlook this hotel - its in a great part of NYC and the prices are great.it also has a great restaurant in the bldg. the last room I was in would be considered a suite by NYC standards, they always hook up bar, food and snack credits and IIRC recently renovated. clean and great service.
