Amazing hotel, we had so much fun, would stay again <3 located near a store on the corner similar to a marsh/kroger fresh food and prepared food so you can relax back at the hotel. Love it!
Great customer service; staff well informed about attractions in the area. You have a choice of getting a $5 voucher toward food at the hotel if you don't need your room cleaned every day. The room felt like I was in my own apartment it wasn't your typical stale bedroom it was fresh and it looks and feels very comfortable
We used the underground lot for parking for an event in Old Town. It was very handy, except the pay machine did not work on our way out. It was stressful because there was a huge line of cars behind us and we kept getting an error message. Thankfully, we were able to page the front desk and they opened the gate for us to drive out.
Great environment and super helpful staff. 10/10 would stay again.
Great location, near National Airport. Reasonable drink prices in the bar.
I DRESS UP LIKE A CAT AND WALK AROUND HERE EVERY NIGHT
It's a beautiful hotel with a little courtyard and convenient conference rooms.
Great hotel, large rooms in a great location. Very comfortable beds and all the standard in room amenities. I'd be more critical of the food options in the hotel but next door is a great grocery store.
Not a bad place to stay, large rooms, good front desk service, free transportation to the airport where we can take the metro to Washington DC and garage parking. Breakfast in the lounge was ok. Hotel is walking distance to many shops, restaurants and a bike rental shop.
House keeping could improve - there was some eeky blood stain on the toilet and we had to inform the hotel three times before it was finally cleaned on the third day. On one occasion we waited 40 mins at the airport for pick up and the drive didn't stop at the designated area but picked up some passengers from a different area. When we encountered him, he kept saying we're supposed to wait at the designated area. When we asked why he didn't stop at the designated area, he just ignored us.
I was only staying one night for work so I did not enjoy a lot of the amenities or the restaurant or visit the meeting space. My review is therefore mostly about the rooms. I was up on the 6th floor overlooking the courtyard and away from the elevators. It was very quiet and I had a king suite with the living room. The furniture seemed to be reasonably up to date and comfortable including the bed but the room itself was a bit dated. I did get a really good price though in the middle of the week and might be the least money for a king suite I've ever seen. They have a nice desk to work at along with a couch and chair with a wet bar in the living area. That adjoins some French doors to the bedroom and circling around let's you go through to the bathroom from either bedroom or living room. When I checked our staff was very friendly at the front desk. Though I suspect you can likely do a quick checkout and simply drop your keycard at the exit to the parking garage if you did park down there. Overall a good experience and I would certainly stay again.
Great place...nice rooms...even nicer beds, pillows, and conforter. Best sleep ever!
Nice place, professional staff, but overpriced for what you get. $32 A NIGHT FOR PARKING!!! Breakfast NOT included!!! I took a look at the breakfast menu...$12 for a single waffle. $6 for a bottle of water that's sitting on the desk in my room. Total nickel and dime at this place!
I love this place.
Comfy bed, clean rooms, separate living and sleeping areas. A functional flow, with good TV's and great WiFi.
The staff is always very friendly, Andrew the location is great. I've never actually tried the on-site restaurant because there is so much around there, and it's a few blocks to King Street where there is everything you could want. Shopping, dining, relaxing parks. A great location.
I've even used the pool before, and while it's indoors, it's still very nice.
Overall, it checks all the necessary boxes, and is definitely recommended. A fine establishment.
Great hotel! Loved the room & restaurant. Customer service was fantastic!
Nice location. Easy access to the airport. Good food options close to hotel. Recommend.
Hotel was nice but definitely dated. Staff was friendly and helpful.
I book rooms in DC a few times a month for work. I usually stay in the Embassy Suites or Hyatt Hotels, but i chose this 1 this time. I have a miniature daschund, and this location does not chrge a pet fee! The hotel is in a fantastic location, and the rooms are nice. The only downfall for me, was the bathroom. I typically like a large walk in shower, and my room had a bathtub. I will definately be staying at this location from now on!!!
I travel a fair bit, and as I use Amex/SPG, I travel to a lot of Sheratons. I stay here often on business.
Good News: Only 1 out of 6 desk staff are snotty kids, and the front desk 24/7 little store area is nice-it even has sodas in a cooler. They use the good $100 pillows I wish I had at home, and the GRAs are always excellent. Look them up-they rock! The bar/restaurant is great at giving you utensils, etc. without having to buy anything. I've never eaten there.
Bad News: Ice machines are spotty, and I've never seen the on-floor vending work. About 1/2 the time the automated wake-ups don't work at all, so use your own alarm on cell/watch.etc. Internet. Ugh.. They charge $6.95/day for wireless choked at 2MB/sec down, and non-existent up. I've never made my company pay for more, as my cell will get better speed. Most Sheratons kick ass in this regard. Do not trust the list of local eateries at the front desk-it has not been updated in 7+ years, and many places listed are no longer in existence. There is a building being built across the street for the last 100 years, it seems, but if you are careful, and ask to see the room layouts, you can get a higher room that faces Washington, or even the Masonic Memorial. If you stay in a room looking over the construction, you can see the incoming flights to DAC (Reagan is just 3.5 miles north) go almost over the hotel on approach (too far away to keep you up or anything)...
Overall: Of all Sheratons, I find this one a great value. It is old, but relatively clean. There is a large Trader Joe's 3 blocks South, and my new favorite hang is Teaism, just 1-1/2 blocks south. CHECK THEM OUT ONLINE! There is an uppity restaurant diagonally across the street, but I've never been. The taxis are _always_ 5-15 mins early if you order them through the front desk, and there is an Enterprise car podium in the lobby.
Great service, nice bar with a good menu. Whenever I come into town I sTay here.
Wonderful hotel experience. The suites were lovely and big. It was nice to have a separate room to put the baby in to sleep. Amenities were really nice, though they no longer have a pool. Slept well. Hot water came quickly to the shower. Tv was a little difficult to use. No bellhop but staff did help me bring my stuff up to the room when I had the baby, but they didn't have someone to help me down at the end of our visit. Overall a good time.
Very nice suites and convenient location with street parking. Inside restaurant was very nice.
If I could give Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria negative 5 stars I would. I have stayed in many fabulous Starwood Hotels, but this hotel is AWFUL. I admit that I didn't have much time to research hotels in the area and I chose this hotel as it is advertised as 4 stars. They also had one bedroom, balcony club suites available and good reviews online. Once we arrived at the hotel, around 7pm, there wasn't a valet, concierge, or any staff out front to assist with luggage. When we entered the "lobby" we weren't sure where to check-in as it is crowded and not easy to navigate. There was only one elevator that had access to the hotel rooms and the other to parking. Upon entering the dingy, outdated room, it was difficult for my husband, 10 year old daughter, one large suitcase, one small suitcase, one duffel bag, and I to fit in the room. The shabby furniture is crammed in the room and the TV in the "bedroom" is stuck behind the door. There is a sliding glass door in the bedroom that leads to a "balcony" that is about 12 inches deep. The bathroom is small and dreary, with a broken drain. I had requested extra towels when I made the reservation, but my request was not honored. Please be advised that the photos and descriptions of the rooms on the website are misleading. My husband spoke with an "agent" at the front desk who offered us a "different" room, but it was just as grimy as the other. The club lounge was drab like the room and the d'oeuvres were stale. I called the SPG customer service line to voice my concerns and request to check out the next day. I was transferred to a "corporate" representative who was defensive and rude. When I responded to her attitude by stating that I would leave a less than favorable review, she said that she could no longer assist me, but then offered to call the hotel to see if they would "accept" an early checkout without applying a penalty. Click. Instead of following through, she hung up on me. So, we went to the store, which is conveniently located a block away to buy Lysol, so we could feel less disgusted by the room. We stopped by the front desk hoping to speak to a manager about an early checkout again, but we were told that the supervisor wouldn't be in until 12 noon tomorrow. The same time as checkout. Interesting. I hope the result is favorable, as the "customer service" we have received so far is deplorable.
The front desk/check in process is ridiculously sloooooooow . It's 2019,there has to be a faster way. I'm shocked because most Marriott locations are way more efficient.
Beautiful hotel in a great city. The room is a mini suite and very tastefuly decorated. The bed is comfy. I do wish the walls were a bit thicker but maybe just had super loud neighbors the first night. Second night I heard nothing and slept like a rock. Would love to come back someday.
Great location, very friendly staff. We used the shuttle to go downtown and back which was very handy.
Our room was comfortable and we were lucky to have a room with a wonderful view.
I am sure we will visit them again next time we are in Arlington
Staff is friendly but the hotel is starting to show its age... not in a charming Victorian way. Restaurant is barely worth it with free coupons (comp breakfast and evening appetizers).
Could have been a nice hotel but the late night front desk does not care about guest issues. Wedding was being held at hotel and several guests had no regard for sleep or well being of others.
Group was being extremely loud in courtyard well after midnight. Man at front desk refused to do anything to enforce hotel policy and started hanging up on us when we called again to ask him to do something about noise. Had no other available outlets to get help. Don't stay at a hotel where you can't sleep.
No valet, self parking in the public garage, nice little inner courtyard. No upgrade offered even though Platinum.
I was here for a modeling audition. Beautiful hotel! I would book a room if ever in the area again.
We used it for parking, arrival was decent. Had to assist old guy with bags to make sure he didn't damage anything during loading for ride to airport.
Pickup from Airport didn't happen. I had to spend another $16.00 for a taxi because they stopped running the shuttle. They refused to give any complementary services for loss, due to their lack of services.
I reccomend using another site.
Great hotel. Highly recommended. Great pool and hot tub. Easy parking for $26 as long as you want. Overall can't say anything bad!
Very nice hotel and very conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria
Decent room .clean. having to pay for coffee in the lobby at 7 am is insultingand gets them 2 stars
Place was unforgettably forgettable. I have seen children lemonade stands more organized than the front desk, the walls are paper thin and the left over paper they used for the sheets. Shower pressure is fantastic though, and my room was clean. For $90-120 is what the room is worth, anymore you could get a similar experience sleeping in your car. Very over priced parking.
The location was nice and quiet and the staff was helpful and kind to me. The room was beautiful and spacious I would like to stay again.
I booked a room online around 3 AM but unfortunately, I couldn't locate the hotel that night because there were no visible signs. I called the next day to talk to a manager and see if I could get a refund less the taxes, and was told he wasn't available. I finally got hold of someone and she rudely refused to listen to me and told me my money was gone! No middle ground! Although I have a Sheraton card, I will NEVER ever book any Sheraton hotel again in my life!
Our family of four spent 4 nights at the Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria in a room with a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. The hotel staff was wonderful, and meet our requests promptly, providing us with a more comfortable stay. The kids enjoyed the pool hours. Parents liked being able to close off the bedroom from the kids, and proximity to the metro. Garage parking had charging stations for electric vehicles, including 2 Tesla superchargers, although they were frequently "iced" by non-electric vehicles presumably due to proximity to the elevator.
Rooms were nice and clean. All suites was a bonus. DO NOT book rooms with balconies and pay extra for a "fire escape". Also had to pay for parking and breakfast? Why? It should have been included. Pool and whirlpool were ok. Good location and good hotel overall.
Terrible hotel stay! Never again. The rooms were filthy. I was moved three times [The front desk is careless and clueless]. There was dust everywhere the headboards, vents, desks... The carpet was disgusting everything was super old. The rooms had a smell of mildew, in one of the rooms there was mold on the ceiling in multiple areas... Tape on the door. Hair in the bathroom, spiderwebs in the curtains. You can just tell that these rooms weren't inspected nor do they care about maintaining the property to a high standard. I would not recommend this hotel or this brand .
Amenities are pretty nice, and location is fine. Would like free/cheaper parking and breakfast options.
Great place to park for DCA. Left my car for a week and it was in great hands
Normally Sheraton is good. But this Sheraton is the worst. During a week stay, never put shampoo, others after room cleanup. After room clean, but not clean. Tab is so dirty. And too many room constructions around my room, so noisy because of hammer sounds, big music sounds by constructors. Never stay.
Room is fine, clean out a bit outdated. Beds are comfortable pillows are overly soft. Price is a little bit high but not outrageous. Decent location but not the best. Not a bad deal overall
Great hotel and location, prime for walking around Old Towne area. Good customer service from the staff and very accommodating of travelers needs, the shuffle, fitness center and proximity to shops and restaurants is on point!
Great amenities. Solid place to hold a birthday party as it turns out. Free parking was a nice touch (specific to the event).
Rooms were smaller than expected, restaurant food and service wasn't very good, pool was 3 feet all the way around, and didn't open until 4 pm. Very disappointing.
Rented a large pick up truck from Enterprise that is located at the Sheraton. Jamaal couldn't have been more helpful. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I was running a little late and he agreed to wait 10 minute pass closing time for me to return. Also throughout the entire rental process, he was respectful, professional and courteous. Much thanks.
Beautiful room and friendly staff. Some of the hotel should be updated. Fire alarms and bathroom are very old. Otherwise wonderful stay.
Great location in Old Town Alexandria but still close and convenient to Washington DC. Staff was great and very helpful in arranging a bus tour of Washington. The rooms are nice and quiet even with the proximity to Regan Airport. Hotel is close to King Street which has numerous restaurants.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to the Washington area.
The hotel itself was nice. Our suite was clean and updated. It was very nice. However, my main complaint regarding our stay, however, is the fact that they poorly handled a very dangerous elevator situation. On Friday, 09/25/2020, my boyfriend was in the elevator with other guests when it started violently shaking them and going up and down. It was very traumatizing for my boyfriend and the other people on it. We were only told that the elevator is outsourced and has nothing to do with them and given a $20 Uber card, when we should have been refunded the money for our stay, in my opinion. There's no way that this was the first time (and it wasn't the last because when before we checked out Sunday, a gentleman left the elevator cussing about how it started acting crazy and put the sanitizer dispense in the door to keep it from moving since the staff themselves didn't put some kind of warning on the door not to ride that elevator.)
This is unacceptable and I will be getting in contact with corporate and whoever else.
Room was clean, staff was friendly, location was great.
Went there to swim since holiday inns was closed walked in the door and loved it m0re than holiday inn
Rooms are spacious and there is a good amount of comfort for longer stays. Staff are friendly but sometimes do make mistakes. Elevators are slow so make sure to leave enough time if you are in a hurry.
This is an older property in the Old Town area of Alexandria. As such, Sheraton has done a lot to make the building more modern, but there are a lot of issues. "Suite" is a generous term for a living space marginally larger than a normal hotel room, but actually feels much smaller due to small bath, tiny beds (full size instead of queen), and worn out doors passages in-room. The "Club" is a joke. Breakfast is limited, and the hot food is cold. Evening appetizers are effectively cheese, chips and salsa. The hot item is hit or miss. No bar, but you can buy wine or beer (very limited choices). Back to the room, the "luxury bedding" does not fit the mattress and is scratchy. The mattress is simply awful. I slept very poorly all 4 nights here. All staff encountered were great, but more desk staff is needed. Shuttle only goes to airport. Bottom line: would not stay again. This is the 2nd Sheraton I have used since the Marriott/Starwood merger, and as a long time Marriott customer, I am less than impressed.
Clean room, but smelled damp. Very friendly staff. Walking distance to King street.
Reasonably appointed suites. Great staff people, friendly. Limited hours for pool and restaurant.
Very nice, clean and comfortable room. Short distance/ drive to King Metro Station and from there to Washington DC. Shuttle will drop you off at the airport, but the driver was nice to take us to King Station. Parking is adjacent to the hotel and it is extra.
The room is comfortable, very spacious, has everything you need to be well, I loved it!
It's a little far from the Gaylord, but the Uber was cheap and under 20 minutes to get there. The rooms are very clean and the staff is nice.
Clean rooms. Good service. Good bartender, okay bar.
Clean establishment. Easy to get to. Super friendly staff. 5 stars!
Great location. 10 minute walk to Metro and the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The room was spacious and comfortable.
