Clean, updated lots of amenities and a great location. The rooms are on the small side(like a hotel room).

Great service! Got a free upgrade to the deluxe ocean view rooms! A++
It's a really expensive hotel and they charge you for everything. The infraestructure it's ok, but of it's full you can not get chairs close to the pool and you have to pay for them. We spent a couple of nights in Napili Sunset hotel and I prefer that one, even Bora Bora has better watter hotels and cheaper than this.

A hotel with spectacular surroundings, it is paradise
Amazing location. Great snorkeling and cliff diving.
Beautiful resort in the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life. Very expensive but understand why.
The service is horrible - I am shocked at just how rude and obnoxious the staff at this hotel are.
Place was beautiful and we got a free upgrade because the front desk host was so so sweet. Would live here if I could.
Absolutely loved this resort! Beautiful grounds with all live flowers, huge pool areas, nice comfy rooms, on-site restaurants and grocery/gift store. Excellent staff. Highly recommend.
Visited in mid-May for my honeymoon. We got a free upgrade to a suite and it was amazing.
Pool was freezing, service was mediocre at best, food was overpriced, rooms are just ok. The scenery was beautiful, great snorkeling, and everyone comes from all over to jump off cliff rock.
We decided to come here for 3 or 4 days and wound up staying for 8 days. Rooms are kind of small but customer service ,front desk and accommodations were wonderful. Only issue I had was the ridiculous parking prices.
Nice resort first time in Hawaii they got everything you possibly want even a covenience store not to far of a walk. From the resort enjoying my first night here
Location on beach is perfect - next to a popular snorkeling and cliff diving spot where you can occasionally spot turtles. Ocean view from room is great. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Resort layout is especially confusing - our room required taking 3 elevators to reach the lobby/breakfast, and locating a path to the beach from the resort pool is difficult even though they are adjacent. Food offerings at the pool bar are not great and lacked quality (especially for the price).
A beautiful resort. All the staff that I interacted were super friendly and helpful. Great location and easy to get around the island. Definitely on our list to return to
The pool is fantastic. Very relaxing rolling around under bridges
My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Maui over the weekend getaway. Check in was a breeze and our receptionist was very kind. Kaanapalii is a little far from Kahului airport, but the view driving there is nice [unless you arrive at night]. You can see Lanai and Molokai on a clear day. The hotel was currently under construction, I can't wait to see it's finished product. Our room was facing the tennis courts, but we didn't stay in our room very long. Also available is a buffet breakfast, fresh and canned fruit, yogurt, potatoes, scrambled eggs, vegetable stir fry, grilled mahi mahi, miso soup, quiches, waffle maker, toasts, oatmeal, pancakes, omelette station, and a small variety of pastries and cereal available. The items change a little from day to day.
The hotel itself is beautiful. It's on the beach and so it is really nice. As a result, the views from the rooms are incredible. The rooms themselves are okay. Nothing spectacular about them. The first room we were in didn't have a working shower so we did get upgraded which was nice but still unusual for a hotel of this stature.
If your in the rooms on the black rocks long walk to the pools an bar but overall we enjoy our stay great service
Here on a family vacation. The service is top notch. Rooms are clean and well kept. The beach is fantastic. If you want a great snorkeling experience, be sure to contact 808 divers. Caleb is a great guide, very knowledgeable and personable.
There are great restaurants on the grounds and the pool is absolutely amazing. Staff is super friendly.
Sliding closet door wouldn't slide, door key card handle broke to room had to wait for maintenance to replace handle. Tried to charge me valet parking everyday but had a great view....
The Sheraton Maui has been amazing. The front desk and valet staff have been very helpful and friendly. The food at the pool was surprisingly tasty and the beach view is ideal
Beautiful location next to a great snorkle spot, Black rock. Grounds are well kept, staff friendly and rooms spacious and clean.
The setting was gorgeous the snorkeling at Black Rock is spectacular. It is busy. The parking costs is far higher than the staff said it would be and I didn't appreciate them lying to me in order to make a few extra bucks. I would have used the lot had they been honest.
The rooms are old fashioned and clean, but the swimming pool and the sea are very good. I pee at the pool and pee at the pool. Really.
I was just at the Sheraton for their scuba lessons, which were awesome! A little but pricy, but mostly on par with the rest of the island it seemed
We went here for their Spa/Massage offerings. We called ahead to figure out parking; the nice lady said our valet parking card would be validated once we made an appointment. We pulled up to the front for valet and proceeded to the Spa to choose and schedule our massage. They had openings later that afternoon, so we even had plenty of time to snorkel at the beach. There were kids jumping off Black Rock Cliff. Unbeknownst to any of them, or the spectators on floaties watching the jumpers, there was a 9ft tiger shark swimming leisurely underneath! I was focused on some of the cool fish and then this tiger shark, stripes and all, casually swims by, not 10ft in front of me. It was swimming towards open water, meaning it had been closer to shore already. I asked the hotel staff later, they said it was unusual to have a tiger shark there. After a wonderful sunset, we watched the nightly black Rock diver, which had nice narration. Our therapeutic couples massage was great. No complaints there. My masseuse adjusted according to my preferences and answered all my questions. You can add tip at the Spa desk afterward or cash tip straight to your masseuse.
hotel good. needs some updating. people staff overall. pool needs work on tiles falling apart. Sink in bathroom cracked
also mystery charges for a car on bill (we had no car) and they don't give Elite discounts promised.
nothing worse than fighting with front desk before departure on incorrect charges and then still not fixed. emails, phone calls are ignored
Staying at Black Rock was like a little piece of heaven! Beautiful beaches, snorkeling, and the cliff divers nightly were only the tip of the iceberg. The pools ate lovely, the gardens were breath taking, and the waterfalls were fabulous. The location was perfect, and we are looking forward to visiting again soon!
The service at Sheraton Maui is amazing. Every detail is looked after by their amazing staff.
Unique location, infinite views and misused workforce - hope they negotiate contract soon. Beautiful swimming pools and grounds.
Mediocre at best. Staff not helpful or informative...tired resort...construction for main entrance and lobby with no notification from hotel. No shade at the pool. Some umbrella over chairs eith no guests underneath them. When we asked the staff if there was shade they said not really. No monitoring of people just leaving stuff by the pool all day and taking up prime pool spots. All in all a 2 star service 3 star facility 5 star location
Loved this place. Awesome staff everyone was extremely helpful. Meals where delicious, location was perfect and the whole family was covered with the entertainment.
We did get stuck in a lift for about 20min but help was instantly at hand and we where offered above and beyond compensation. We only excited a bottle of water, but they where genuine with the apologies and we could tell.
What a poor shadow of what a real resort offers. Where others would have lazy rivers or island vegetation this has huge expanses of bare lawns. Nicely mowed but useless. Not even soft for sitting. The towels they issue are close to a good quality paper towel. K-mart level beach furniture. Staff very confused about what is open when, had 3 false directions in one search. Uninspired pool area, what looks like a 6 foot slide is actually less than 2 feet drop to water level. Parking garage does not even bother to have exit signs, a sign of the level of lack of attention to the basics your can expect at this property. Don't stay here for anything over 25% of what the nearby real resorts charge. Better than a 6 dollar per night motel, but not by much.
Smoke from their luau preparation gets into your room around 4AM. All the front lobby tells you is, "sorry."
Don't waste your money here
The resort is in great location on the beach with snorkeling right off the shore. Plenty of activities located at the property. The rooms are spacious and bed is comfortable with great views.
Excellent hotel, unparalleled attention and a beautiful view all in one place
Great location! Beautiful grounds and excellent restaurants.
Good access to Black Rock and connected Starwood hotels
Maui is a great place to visit. You can't go wrong with any hotel in Maui.
With that being said, since they are all about the same, you really have to compare them on the smaller details like customer service. This hotel is beautiful and has a lot of amenities, but its customer service really falls short.
1) Didn't have our room-despite booking through costco 3 months in advanced for our anniversary, they didn't have ANY king beds in the entire hotel after our 12 hour flight. They "upgraded" us to a full ocean from partial ocean view (still without king bed) to make up for it, but they put us right in front of the bushes.
2) Didn't give us our arrival gift, departure gift, gave us expired breakfast coupons (which were part of our package).
3) The Layout is crazy. We had to go up an elevator, across a bridge, down some steps then down another elevator just to get to our room. It was at least a 5 minute walk.
4) Didn't check in the next day to see if we wanted to change rooms since they didn't have our room on day 1.
I'm not mentioning the good, it was there, but no different than hotels anywhere else. Nice pool, staff, good bar, right next to the ocean.
Overall the hotel is beautiful with many amenities. But in a place where everything is beautiful, the front desk really didn't stand out on their service and its frustrating knowing your room is not guaranteed.
Their restaurant and house keeping staff are currently on strike. Too bad, because it is such a wonderful resort under normal conditions.
I was promised a beachfront view but got a good view of the parking lot. Great food though
Rooms are nice Grounds are amazing. Beach is awesome. Staff is fantastic.
You have to snorkel at black rock. Lovely property friendly staff
Amazing place with the most beautiful view from anywhere on the resort. Great staff super friendly and helpful . The food is amazing ! Best fish I ever ate !
I just stayed at the Sheraton Black rock for 10 days with the family and we had a great time. The rooms were very nice and the location was amazing. The service was outstanding at every level with an extra thanks to two staff people that were exceptional. Mario V in the pool area during the day and in the Rock Salt lounge bar in the evenings. Also the young lady "Ms lovely" also located in the pool service area. Highly Recommend!
Really nice grounds and beach access was great. I quite enjoyed being so close to black rock point and jumping off the cliffs
Went there to snorkel black Rock.... Wayyyyy to crowded..... Old property
A great hotel in a resort area of the island. Large, open floor-plan layout makes accessing your room and activities a breeze. Friendly staff, discuss rooms, and plenty of accommodations make the Sheraton a great place.
Luxury, scenery and great staff. Went for a conference and stayed for the experience.
Fantastic location, restaurants are diverse and delicious. Service is attentive
Right near Black Rock and the landscaping is very impressive.
I came here for a honeymoon (yeah !!!!)
There is the sea in front, there is a swimming pool, and Shiramine serves two as service. In fact, I asked if it was a honeymoon, so I hoped that there would be something more, but I did not have a romantic feeling when I came to the honeymoon. It was so sweet that it was so sweet and sweet.
The beach towel is lent here! There is a bar in the swimming pool but it is worse than I thought. There are a lot of Western people in the family unit and can snorkel in the sea in front.
I was a little surprised at turning on the lights one by one, not the system that puts the card key at the very beginning, but the big disappointment came when I heard a lot of the facilities of the hotel in Hawaii.
So here is the paradise on earth !!!
Had dinner with the wife at the former black rock cafe, now called Rock Salt. The ambiance was nice, although the live music from the pool area was sometimes clashing with the percussion coming from the luau hosted not far away. That is my only critical point as everything else was wonderful. Orlando provided excellent service and the mananger Rob made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We will be returning soon.
Great beach, limited services until the strikes end.
It was a great stay, with a lot of nice people. Our rooms were always cleaned and the service there was amazing!
We left after the first night. It was dirty and unkept and poor service.
Beautiful, right on the beach with good snorkeling right on the black rock. Also good food to eat and all employees are very pleasant and helpful
Beautiful grounds, excellent staff. Show was remarkable and food was excellent!
Most amazing hotel on Maui. Beautiful property, best night of my vacation
Nice place to stay. The staff are very accommodating. Not a party place Family oriented and quiet.
Buildings are difficult to navigate. Had a room with an amazing view but to get the beach, pools, main areas felt like an obstacle course that was a mile long. Pools were over-crowded, and rented beach umbrella was placed closely to others. Over all feeling everywhere on the property was claustrophobic, not very relaxing. Even from the massage/spa I could hear people outside, not very relaxing at all. Breakfast buffet had less options than other resorts, meh.
The actual inside living conditions haven t been the best. Had ants in our bathroom. Walls are very thin so you hear everything.
The outside pool and beach area are amazing though. One of the best I ve been too.
Location:::: in the water with black rock jetty cliff diving. Lots to do. 10 minute walk to whaler's village. 10 minutes north of Lahaina.
