Beautiful location. It's great being right on the beach and next to Black Rock.
Beautiful location. It's great being right on the beach and next to Black Rock.
Perched right on a great beach, Black Rock, where you can jump off the cliff and sea turtles come by daily. The decor is hawaiin but nottt tacky. The whole hotel is open and breezy. Service is great. Very nice pool. You do need to pay for extras like cabanas and snorkel equipment, but that's not unexpected. Prices are "you are in Hawaii" so don't complain.
The location is great and the rooms aren't bad. The problem that we had was that every restaurant they had on the premises was closed because all of the restaurant staff was on strike. It made for some annoying noise at night.
Room cleaning is best. No microwave in room. That's a bummer. Beach location is just perfect.
Hotel its self is nice. But they make every effort to milk you of your money. $35 breakfast each and $18 hotdogs. Come on. Id probably not come back unless sharadon contacted me and apologised
Great location with good snorkeling, cliff diving and amenities. WARNING..valets for parking let air out of a tire after not leaving a tip one time. Happened to another guest I spoke with too. The rest of the staff were wonderful. Breakfast buffet and bars were excellent.
Great location but the building need an improvement due to the age
Nice hotel and lovely exhibit area (where I am spending most of my time). My room smells a bit musty, but I'm not there much anyway. The conference food served by the Sheraton Maui has been good and the staff helpful.
I went to a luau here. The show was lots of fun-- great music and dancing. The setting was gorgeous. Food was ok. I expected better for the price.
Very nice investment - I would book here immediately. Public areas top and right on the sea with bathing possibility
Paradise! We spent 6 nights here as part of our honeymoon and wish we could have stayed for longer.
The room was very nice and large, and the whole hotel was very clean. The hotel is well equipped with an on-site shop, bars, restaurants and a little cafe stop. The pool was fantastic, and the beach is a 30 second walk from the pool. I would highly recommend Franks Haute Dogs for lunchtime hot dogs, and the cliff dive bar for a light snack (Mahi Mahi tacos were delicious!)
Staff were very friendly and accommodating too. The free shuttle bus running to Lahaina was invaluable, and the drivers were great!
The only thing which is a slight downside is all the bars and restaurants on site close at 9pm, which means if you have been into Lahaina for a meal and fancy a night cap, well you can't have one! The benefit of this is the hotel is quiet at night so its easier to sleep, but the downside to this is everybody is up and about at 7am!!
Oh and if you want to hit the beach I suggest you bring your own parasol, the hotel charges $30 per day for hire!
Stayed here 16yrs ago and the hotel is great but the reef out front is all but dead. So sad
Awesome location and amenities, great pool for kids.
The good: Decent WiFi speed, Helpful concierge service, nice beach and pool
The bad: Location is bad, too much traffic any time of day to reach here, daily parking charge, no free filtered drinking water, walking from parking to room can be unbelievably long! Need to rent almost every beach amenity which destroys the whole purpose of resort fee and need to hold on to tokens to get even beach towels, building structure doesn't allow for privacy in balcony and had to deal with annoying smoking neighbors.
Hotel was well kept but undergoing some upgrades on the landscaping i hope. Location and views were spectacular from every angle. The rooms were standard but the balconies were cramped. Pool area was crowded but well maintained. Restaurants were limited undergoing renovations but the hotel is a nice stroll from a nearby shopping center called the Whalers village. Manager was very accommodating after our original hotel fell thru. I cannot say the same for Marriott corporate, especially considering my elite status.
It was very fun and relaxing for the whole family we will defanition be back again
Black Rock is really fun to jump off and the bar on the beach has great Mai Tai!
Great atmosphere, beautiful property, easy beach access, cliff diving, amazing luau, great food and drinks.
Good location, good beach, good pool, nice room, poor to average restaurants.
Expect to pay daily parking and resort fees.
Plays loud, booming music at private events, making it hard to relax or fall asleep before 10pm.
Great place, cozy rooms. The resort was amazing, good pool and a calming ocean view
Beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and facilities are well maintained. And the three pool side bars all offer different drinks and different happy hours (happy hour almost all day between the 3).
Two stars for great location and great beach. Cannot give any additional because their workers went on strike while we were there and there was no notification of an imminent strike. We paid big $$ for a resort experience and did NOT get it.
This was the best hotel ever in Hawaii.
The private beach and various hotel cafe in the hotel gave me great time.
Didn't stay here but took my boys to Black Rock beach for some swimming and cliff diving!
A thoroughly "meh" experience. I stayed here for a wedding and was consistently underwhelmed for the entire stay. The location is good with a nice pool and I was pleased with the free shuttle that leaves hourly between the hotel and downtown Lahina, but the good ends there.
I called reception before I left home to confirm my reservation as I knew that I would arrive after midnight. When I showed up they tried to give me a room with double beds even though I had paid extra to reserve an ocean view room with a king. I had to argue with the unfriendly reception desk to get what I had paid for, and even then they put me on a low floor with a view block almost entirely by trees.
Any time I requested anything from the front desk, concierge or restaurant staff I was at best met with indifference but most of the time met with a flat out rude response as if I was interrupting them with my needs.
Rooms are outdated but clean.
For such a highly nightly rate I was very disappointed. There are way too many great places on Maui to stay to put up with what is a mediocre hotel at best.
Great service. End of Lahaina kaanipali resort. Renovations being done. Hence the four stars.
We hsd a couples massage and it was awesome. Perfect way to start the vacation.
Beautiful resort with great drinks, beach, and restaurant. Clean rooms and pools, with gorgeous views.
Very beautiful grounds and a fun pool. Really good beach area. Food was Aldo excellent.
Worst spice chicken plate i ever taste for the price of a caviar. Even KFC had better taste.
We were there for a wedding, drink were good hotel staff was awesome. Hot sun and lots of fun!
Resort was fantastic. This place has aged well. The room was nice, staff friendly and helpful. 4 stars only because valet occasionally takes some time to grab the vehicle when you arrive and the photo business they have in their lobby has some shoddy business practices.
Great location but the building is old and need an upgrade
Went here just to snorkel on black rock beach and it was amazing, as always. Saw many turtles and fish and had a great time. The resort is just a fantastic location.
Though an older property you get all the amenities that you'd expect from a Marriott chain.
Amazing hotel, excellent beach and pool areas, wide variety of people, food is good. Only real complaint is how spread out things are. If you end up in building 6 you'll have a great view but also a 6 minute walk and 3 elevator changes to get to anything. Rooms are very nice, staff is great, front desk and concierge are very helpful. There are big shopping centers 10 minutes in either direction from the main entrance.
A unique island all organic if you dare to travel the whole Islands you will take each unique surprises waterfalls between the mountains black sand beaches unique bloom every corner hides a mystery and the beaches are beautiful the truth an unforgettable experience the trip is long but worth the Sorry you will never forget and the beautiful hotel is to go forget all the rich food very good people
I used the beach. There was public parking but the Sheraton employee neglected to mention that to me. Instead they charged $40 to
park
We stayed here for the tail end of our 2 week honeymoon after getting married on Oahu. We booked through Priceline for a cheaper rate than what is available on the website - upon arrival they told us we had booked 2 double beds, when in fact this wasn't what I had requested and I had even called ahead to let them know we would be visiting on our honeymoon. Fortunately they were able to accommodate our requests. Upon arriving to the room, we noticed the room smelt a bit musty (I think mostly coming from the bathroom that did not have a fan). The main area itself was nice, bed was comfortable (pillows could be updated for sure).. however the bathroom could have definitely used a deep clean or a face lift. We loved having a fridge in our room - for families with children, we wouldn't recommend as there is no kitchenettes and nothing very close by for easy grab and go meals (they had a little breakfast cafe near the lobby... $7.50 for a breakfast sandwhich, $6+ for a small iced coffee). Another downfall was the 20 USD parking fee which is in addition to the 30 USD (I believe) resort fee per night. The sheraton comps your first night parking, however this is not nearly enough to make up for the excessive additional fees you will get after you pay to stay here.
Other than these issues (more just to make other travellers aware of..), I would definitely recommend this resort to someone who wants to just lounge around... by close to the beach... enjoy a nice refreshing & clean pool... etc. We loved snorkelling with the turtles RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE RESORT! The turtles would show up mostly in the afternoon and hang around for a bit eating the algae off the black rocks. The location is amazing with not much traffic being the end resort on the road/beach. They offer a shuttle to and from Lahaina & whalers village (definitely could use an extra shuttle running during peak times such as dinner since at times we were standing for our 20 minute ride).
Overall we enjoyed our stay & are glad we chose the Sheraton, but if you're not wanting to pay a lot extra money when you arrive, this is not the place for you!!
It has been very clean and the staff has been friendly.
Th first night they offer valet parking for few hours.
The next day on it is 22 dollors a day.Very expensive. Very boring place.
Absolutely beautiful! Excellent service. Keep in mind that it's kid friendly if you're going on a romantic vacation. But you can still Hanne great romantic moments. There are extra fees to but great trip overall.
Great service, really nice beach, great location right next to whalers village, superb for corporate events.
Magical. The best hotel in Maui. Attention all location. Wonderful
Needs to be updated from the 70s. Stairs and elevator placement is inefficient. Food is okay decent pool and great beach front.
I loved nearby Wales Village
It's a good place to rest
We have stayed at 4 hotels on Maui.
The Sheraton Maui has the best beach location of any of the other Maui hotels not just in West Maui but on the island.
The Sheraton Maui also has the warmest most friendly and professional staff! When we left they said see you next year. We feel so bad that we cant go back because I am too sick to fly that far.
But we agree if we go back to Maui we would stay there.
Beautiful resort. Undergoing renovations so some nice resturants are closed. Breakfast buffet is $33. Grounds are well kept. All eateries at this resort are closed by 9. We walked to Monkey Pod for late night bite after 12+ hour flight.
Very positive and lovely staff. A plethora of options and available choices of whatever you'd like to do. Elevator system is slightly confuaing but after a day you get it
This is tough for me to rate. Customer service is a 5 star, the staff and management are absolutely amazing. The property is a bit tired and old as are the rooms. Having only stayed in condos when we travel to Hawaii we decided to stay here in this trip. We will stick to condos.
Sheraton Maui Has a School of Holistic Therapy in Polnesia by the Name of Sabai International School ?!
I don't think this place is truly a 4-star hotel. As noted by others, the rooms were very outdated and the amenities were not up to par with other four star hotels in Maui. I guess the only plus is that you can get a pretty good deal for a room. In any case, we would not stay here again.
When we first set foot in the lobby our breath was taken away by its grandeur and beauty. Just amazing. The pool is amazing. The rooms are a bit small but still amazing as they were clean and modern. We chose a mountain view and honestly it didn't matter as we didn't spend any time in their but to shower and sleep. Only ate by the pool once and it was a bit pricey. Usually went into town for food. The beach access was awesome too as it is a beautiful beach with great snorkeling by the black rocks. Self parking isn't bad as it isn't to far away and beats having to pay for valet. First valet was free though! Overall we loved this place and would go back again as it was just beautiful.
The views were amazing, the beds were very comfortable, the breakfast buffet was great, and the poolside bar and grill was great.
Amazing location on the beach. Attended the luau. Food and show was terrific - would highly recommend it.
Amazing hotel, great staff, beautiful views! However, the Luau is a Modern Luau - the food is cooked in a traditional manner, however it is served buffet style. This might be ideal for some, but not if you are looking for the beach/torchlight experience.
Excellent service at the bar. Had a great sunset performance, spite the rain, that made for a spectacular evening.
Luau started to early and ended early. Absolutely ridiculous.
BlackRock..
Super Beach.
So far the hotel has been great. We had a problem with the room not being properly made up when we arrived. The fixed this and gave us money off food and drinks within the hotel.
Everyone was great. Fantastic customer service and the location is amazing.
We stayed 5 nights in eight rooms total at the Royal Hawaiian for my son's wedding, which I must say couldn't have gone better, just outstanding, and 5 nights in three rooms at the Sheraton Maui for some golf with friends. On the 4th day of our stay just after my son's wedding at the Royal Hawaiian the union went on strike! Wow, did we dodge a bullet! It was a bit of a shock because there was a definite lack of services, but management came to the rescue going the extra mile to accommodate our basic needs. I must say they all did an outstanding job under the challenging circumstances. Hats off to Brandy and Jillian at the Royal Hawaiian for their dedicated professionalism, and Ashley and Jeff at the Sheraton Maui for their assistance making my stay with friends memorable. Can't say enough, we hope this strike gets resolved as soon as possible. Unfortunately we didn't get our complementary banana bread at the Royal, so we will be back, LOL! Cheers to management!
Older architecture in desperate need of a tenant improvement. Food was not as good as I was hoping it to be. Had to drive to Lahaina for almost every meal.
