The resort is fantastic. Starting with the lobby, you get a great sense of how awesome this place is and how nice it is. You're overlooking the beach in just about every room and there is a great pool with a lazy river and a pool side bar and grill. The rooms are upscale with modern technology and are very pleasing. Our room opens up right into the large common grass area leading to the pool and ocean. I highly recommend this hotel and would look to stay here in the future.

Still one of my favorite hotels on Maui, if for no other reason than the Black Rock and the snorkeling that's right around there. Yes, it's very crowded and full of tourists (which of course I am one), but I still find this to be a very appealing place. I have had some fairly negative experiences with the hotel itself, including my last day which was 7 days long and 5 days of complaining about various issues such as lack of Wi-Fi, backed up toilets, failure to service the room, etc. To be fair, the Sheraton management did reach out to me and attempt to mollify me somewhat.

Sheraton Maui was honestly my second choice for Kaanapali Beach due to the ongoing construction at the Westin Maui resort, the facility is not quite as modern as some of the other resorts (decor/interior/exterior specifically) but that is made up for in spades by the wonderful employees! Cliff dive bar food is EXCELLENT! Wifi is fast and coverage is excellent everywhere on the resort! Mai Tai bar is great for drinks but avoid the rock salt restaurant for dinner (breakfast buffet is 7/10

Gorgeous hotel with beautiful views of the ocean. Love the open air floor plan. Great little coffee and snack places, though a little bit overpriced, yet expected. Love how there is direct access to the beach and the lush gardens throughout.

Beautiful grounds. Nice but not luxurious rooms. Clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great place to snorkel. Fairly quiet beach. Personally, I found the hotel eating options limited for my tastes but others might not. Overall very enjoyable and recommended.

Friendly staff and great location. The hotel is slightly dated and due for some renovations. The beach is located close to cliff diving rocks with is fun to watch. The southbound beach walk is gorgeous and takes you past Whalers Village to all the beach resorts north of Lahaina. Town is about a 5 to minute drive where there are great restaurants and shopping. We would come back in the future.

We were lucky enough to spend a few days here in August and we miss it every day since. The views are amazing, the pools are great, the beach is great too. The rooms are very comfortable. This is a truly memorable resort.

We were a party of 23 people and was given our room for dinner, choosing from a 3 course dinner. It however still took over 2.5 hours and we didn't even get to eat desert on site - had to pack it to go. The 2 servers we had were nice and accommodating, it's just too bad the kitchen took too long. The quality of food was good (black rock).

Great hotel. Not as elegant as its upscale competition, but the best location by far. The black portion of the beach has good snorkeling and fewer waves than the other places. Very nice modern rooms and a friendly staff

For what it is (for the price and location) the hotel room itself is pretty basic when compared to the cost. 3.5 stars
The pool, beach, and local cliff jumping are all amazing. 5 stars
The lack of reasonably priced (for Maui) food and drink is highly disappointing. $8-$14 beers. Typically $18+ for food. Don't gouge your guests for something they can walk down the street and get for half that. 2.5 stars only because it's somewhat expected.

Maybe my wife and I were spoiled because we were coming from a private villa in Bali, but the service overall was average to sub par. Example: we called ahead to request a late checkout (for noon). We returned to our room at 11:25am and our key was shut off. Frustrating. 2.5 stars.

Had a great time staying here, every person we talked to that worked here was willing to answer questions, make recommendations, and they were overall very friendly. This resort is beautiful and offers many amenities, it is also very close to lots of shopping and resteraunts. Highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting Maui.

The resort pool is beautiful and the staff is all warm and wonderful. Sadly it has not met expectations.
#1 the main building is under construction, which we were never informed of!! That is so shady. There arent many restaurants to begin with but theyre basically all the under construction, not to mention noise. Went to make shift Salt Rock, awful!!
#2 Suite upgrades denied for our Titanium Elite Status, however we got a great view.
#3 No late check out even tho we were told we would get it when we booked due to status, now "fully committed"
#4 Spa doesnt have anyone there for hair ever.
#5 ac units in room struggle to keep room cool
Basically for a VERY pricey hotel it just isnt worth it. We have one more night and the late check out just sealed it for me that we will never stay here again. Too bad, great location and great service staff.

Many years ago, we visited the Sheraton Maui Resort and I taught my 6 year old daughter how to snorkel. Fortunately, she was a fast learner and we had a great time snorkeling at the Black Rock Beach. We are back and I want to do some snorkeling once again. This is a great place and I highly recommend this spot to anyone. Go and you will be happy you did!

The reason why Sheraton is expensive is because it is right in front of the beach and Black Rock is also close hahaha

Walrus Village is a great location to walk around, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops there. Or there is a restaurant in the resort, so you can settle your meal without having to go out.

If you are not going to rent a car, please use the shuttle included in the resort fee. It's a circulating shuttle to Lahaina, but it's great for those who don't have a car

What I felt after visiting Hawaii is that it is convenient to rent a car in Hawaii, but it is even more so in Maui. Please do rent it.

I don't know if the time I checked in was a busy time, but I checked in well, but I have to attach a bellboy to carry my luggage hahahahaha Bell desk? He told me to wait in front. When I went there, there were a lot of people because of parking and luggage.
So I said it myself, and only then I attached a bell boy and followed him to the room. Without Bellboy, it would be difficult to find a room alone because it is a fairly large resort.

Compared to the price, the natural scenery is pretty,
Compared to Honolulu, it's because it's rural. Compared to Honolulu, I didn't feel the kindness of people. It wouldn't be bad if I stayed at the beach or black rock right in front of me. Feeling without the merits of Sheraton?

The location and beach are great. Snorkeling around Black Rock is beautiful and there are turtles all the way up to the beach. The hotel and services need to be updated. The hotel was built back in the 70s. Paint and carpet can't cover that up. How does a beach resort run out of towels everyday?(2pm) The staff at the pool were not helpful. Some of the rooms can be quite a hike to get to the pool. The pool area is small and broken up. The Mai Tai bar closes too early. Both bars ran out of the larger cups everyday. Many of the hotels in the area are also older. I would recommend a newer hotel.

This is a very nice resort, with friendly staff, and great views. I go there two times a year with my family, loving it more and more every time.
It I situated so that it is just a five minute or less walk, down the beach to whalers village.
And, of course, the resort is on the beach, allowing you to walk out to the shore in less than a minute. I am very pleased with the resort

Fantastic customer service. Very friendly staff. The stay has been extremely relaxing as they take care of anything and everything. Cap off a relaxing afternoon with a sunset that is unparalleled over Molokai with a cliff diving ceremony. Truly a revitalizing vacation!

Poor experience. Unfortunately we pre-paid for this booking and got here as workers were on strike. We were NOT notified of the situation until after we arrived. The situation was down played to us and we had to get rather enquisitive to get any answers. Chanting would wake us up between 6 and 7am from workers wanting better treatement. Why isn't Sheraton management taking ownership of this situation? Discuss with the workers what they want - people come to your resort for a holiday, not to be yelled at by your staff! Managers who were left on premises showed no understanding, no service, no care, no food, no drinks, no service at all, YET we still paid full price! The words we got from the manager were: 'we have hundreds of people checking in every day' - I guess they don't care about individuals. How do we let corporations run like this? Disgusted at Sheraton Maui. If you are thinking of staying here, don't.

Sheraton in Ka'anapali is located next to a row of resorts lining the beach. It is located right next to Black Rock that is a perfect location for snorkeling. We stayed in a ocean view deluxe room. Elevators were a little far for us. Room was nice with a decent bed. Lots of wildlife everywhere including the occasional ants in the room and a variety of bugs outside. The pool is rather nice compared to your normal pool. It is more of a lazy river style. Tried Teppanyaki Dan in the resort. It seems to be a lesser version of benihana. Breakfast buffet was at black Rock restaurant was your typical western breakfast fare. Eggs, bacon, omelet bar, waffle bat, fresh fruits, and espresso machine. I would stay here again.

We had the deluxe ocean front room (building 6) with king bed. Lots of space in the room with the most amazing ocean view possible. Wish they had a little more desk space for computer use and really wish they had a screen door for the balcony, but have to give it 5-stars. Would happily stay here again and again and again.

What's the purpose of paying daily resort fee ($26?)if you have to pay for a chair/umbrella ($46) on the beach which by the way is a PUBLIC beach and self park of ($22). Riiiight I get a 4x6 picture and tote and towels. Not that value accretive.

Really tired hotel that's in need of a refresh. Also, no one should have to take three elevators to get to a beach when staying at a beachside hotel. Sheraton/SPG could do so much better but they seem to not due to the demand of the location.

We stayed on the ground floor room 1102. Beach was a 1 minute walk; lazy river and pool same. The room was great - tub and separate shower. Tub had retractable clothesline for swim suits - nice touch. We shared a wall with a family with three young kids but never heard a thing. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay at the Sheraton again.

Pretty good size rooms. Good selection of tv channels. Bathrooms a little small, but lots of counter space. Beach is really close, right past swimming pool, but waves come right up to the wall so you can't really lay on the beach. Really big swimming pool.

About 45 mins from the airport $80.00 - $100.00 UberXl
Check-in was a breeze recieved breakfast vouchers and room key and headed to our suite on the front floor beach front.
- room was clean and beds were very comfortable
The beach was beautiful and The Sheraton was the only resort that seemed to have a beach if you walk down the walk way to Whalers Village you'll notice there was no real beach. Which makes Sheraton the perfect location!
Spent most of the time at the beach and in the pool.
The restaurants on the resort were OK and all the employees there always polite and helpful. Even the people staying at the resort seemed very happy and very polite as well. This was a great week and we will be back soon!

The deluxe OV or OF up on black rock is ideal for privacy and romance...I opened my patio door and heard all of the dolphins talking and waves crashing at night, then saw turtles in the morning, so peaceful.
A ways to walk to main areas, but worth it! If you dont enjoy walking, stay in main section..there are rooms with good views too..Enjoy!

Overall it feels like a 2 star hotel. Upon check-in, they're trying to sell me breakfast / snacks for $60 a day, but not telling me about events or gym or pool location / hours. 2 used wine glasses sit in front of my room welcoming me, and are still there the next day after housekeeping. Bottled water in room is $5 each. Room desperately needs fixups. Shower head molded and clogged. Sink lost some paint. Some plumber's putty on the wall. Bathroom design is very outdated. Overall the room quality felt like Super 8. I would never stay here again.

Beautiful location, facilities and grounds. Picture shows all of the beach in directly in front of Sheraton. They do have a neat lazy river/ multi pool area that would be great for teens or adults. However, if a little one got away from you in the maze of a lazy river, it could be difficult for you to get to them in an emergency.

The Ka'anapali public beachwalk leads through the Sheraton pool area by the grill to the cliff. From my experience, this made the Sheraton pool area overwhelming crowded; more so than any other hotel on the "strip".

Please keep an extra good eye on everyone and everything you need to keep safe.

My husband and I took a trip to Maui for my birthday this year. We stayed a week at the Sheraton Maui Resort. First off, this is the most beautiful resort I have ever seen. If you want a hotel that looks EXACTLY like the amazing pictures you see online, this is it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. When we asked about any possible upgrades, the front desk staff bumped us up from a resort-view room to a partial ocean view room for no charge! The difference was INCREDIBLE! Being able to see the ocean from your own private lanai - unbelievable. I also visited the Black Rock Spa and spent three hours being pampered by the nicest spa staff I've ever encountered. There was no downside to this hotel that I could tell you. From the on-site Luau, to the accomodations, to the proximity to the beach and shopping (you can easily walk to both in less than five minutes!) this resort has it all. Definitely would recommend to anyone!!
