Kenzel was the best, did a great job! until we webby to trade the car in at another dealer and found they had failed to mention the car was declared a total loss but sold it to us anyway. I will never go here again and I recommend you stay away too.

I went in to look at a vehicle we wanted to purchase on Saturday. I spoke with the floor manager after test driving a vehicle that needed tires replaced. He informed me that he would have the tires replaced and that it would be ready to test drive on Monday so we could make sure the issue was resolved. Tonight we drove in to test drive the vehicle with the replacement tires and I was told it was a misunderstanding and he did not tell me this. It was a shame I took of work early to try and give Shawnee mission Kia my business and I will not make that mistake again. He asked me to purchase a vehicle prior to getting the issue resolved without any guarantee the tires would resolve all the issues.

Terrible service! Unbelievably bad. I brought my car in because it started rough then ran perfect. 9 DAYS LATER... I still don't have my car. Each day I have to call to find status. The answer is waiting on "somebody for something" and "checking something else". Nobody has a fire under his/her butt to get this solved. Ridiculous with my rental costs going up each day.

I recommend all to stay away from this dealership. I felt belittled and felt like this dealership was insulting my intelligence. I went in this week looking to purchase a vehicle; a 2016 Forte Kia. Now, I know my credit situation is the not the best, however I wanted to see how they could help. I met with Joey, who was very courteous and respectable, and explained to him I was in the process of buying a new car for a reasonable price. To make a long story short, when they ran my credit one of their lenders, Capital One, was going to offer me an 18% interest based on my credit report. This was way high to me, but understandable due to my credit. The terms they came back ended up being ridiculous; $376+ over 72 months. I declined this offer and asked Joey and His Sales manager to see if they could lower the terms and the interest rate. They came back the second with an offer with 9% interest, but with the same terms of 72 months. I told them I would get back to them after I spoke it over with my wife. A few days later, I ended up applying directly through Capital One Finance to see if they could provide me with a lesser rate. Come to find out, Capital One gave me an Interest rate of 6.95%. With this approval in hand, I went back to the dealership a second time. I met with Joey and his Sales Manager, and explained to them both that Capital One offered me a better interest rate and terms. The Sales Manager told me "Great I can get you in the Kia Forte with those terms you have chosen" We went through the pricing and all that good stuff, however when it came down to finalizing the pricing, he tells me that I will be getting the car with a 18% interest rate rather than a 6.95% Capital One financed me for. I ended up calling the Sales Manager on his mistake with the interest rate and ended up getting kicked out of the dealership for it. He bluntly told me that "I do not like being called a liar" and told me to leave. As I was walking out the door he says, "I can show you that Capital One gave you an 18% interest rate" but at this point it really didn't matter because I had showed him the letter of approval from Capital One from my phone when I first came into the dealership the second time. How can you kick somebody out of a dealership for telling the truth and calling out the Sales Manager on his mistake?
I can't tell anybody how to run their business, but honesty and integrity is not on this dealerships list. It seems as though they don't care anything about their customers at all. They will try to manipulate, and use illegal sales tactics to do it. I would give my advise, but what's the point , I will be seen as another grumble individual to them who came into the dealership with bad credit.
However, I did get a new car through Blue Springs Hyundai with the interest rate offered by Capital One. In the process I came out with a better car and better terms. They treated me with respect, but most importantly as a valued customer. I ended up getting a 2016 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition at a very reasonable price; much better than what Shawnee Mission Kia was going to offer me for the 2016 Kia Forte.

My wife and I were in need of a "new" vehicle as the transmissions failed on both of our vehicles. Our credit was much less than appealing as we had both been laid off within 4 days of each other in 2007. We had lost our home, both new vehicles and almost everything else that we owned. We never thought we would be able to purchase a newer vehicle ever again. John Coyner and the pre-owned team at Shawnee Mission Kia changed that for us. John was compassionate, empathetic and reassuring in his tone and demeanor. I had spent the entire day at 12 different dealerships and was made to feel that what I needed didn't matter and that I was unimportant to them because I wasn't a "big sale" for them. I expected the same from SM Kia, but received the exact opposite. We were treated as though we were the most important people to everyone involved in the process. The Finance team worked miracles to get us financed and John showed us every vehicle that we were interested in. Each person in the process stayed far past closing to ensure that we drove away that night in a car that was right for us and was within our price range. This was a completely new concept in car sales that I had never seen before. When we drove away,we felt as though we had made new friends at SM Kia and look forward to seeing them again. Thank you is not sufficient for allowing us the opportunity to re-establish ourselves and feel respected once again. You have assembled a winning team and I will shout those words at the top of my lungs for all to hear.
I recently applied online for a loan thinking there was no way because my credit was bad, but Lauren was able to get me approved!! I went in and spoke with Joey who helped us extremely well. The 2013 soul I was approved for had already been sold, but they were able to get me into a 2015 soul for around the same price!!!. Took awhile only because the internet kept going down, but I will buy here from now on!! Couldn't get approved at a buy here pay here lot, but now driving a pretty much brand new car love it!!! I had a horrible experience last night. Me and brothers went in yesterday to drive a KIA stinger and were told to come in as they had all trims available. We went in and met a guy with a red scar over his right eye who immediately assumed were foreigners and could not afford the car. He told us that he did not have anything in stock and told us he would check our credit score before even letting us see the car. This is a KIA for Christ sake and not a Lamborghini or a Porsche. He destroyed our holiday spirit and discriminated against us. Money is not an issue for us but we will make sure not to spend it at your dealership.

Worst experience ever after purchasing a vehicle. Salesman was great got me the car I wanted however I don't know if its management that has an issue with communication to customers or what. I was being dodged anytime I asked a question and no one would call back if you left a voicemail to four different people. I do not recommended purchasing a car from this dealership, just go somewhere else to get a better experience.
Fiance guy was extremely pushy and would not let you get the car without signing up for GAP insurance (which we did not want) just say screw it will we get it and then cancel immediately, guess what they CHARGE YOU to cancel something that you told them you did not want.
My sales guy Ron Johnson was super friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Everyone was nice and made the process of buying a new car that much easier with peace of mind. I'm so happy with my purchase.

We just got a great used (less than 4K miles!) Sportage. We worked with AJ and it was great. They worked with us to make sure the car was what we needed. No pressure, but good consistent communication and relatively painless finance procedure. I'd definitely work with him again!
We bought our Kia Sportage here in 2013. They worked with us to get a model and equipment level that really met our needs and still be within our budget. Routine maintenance service has been outstanding and priced to compete with 3rd party shops. The very few things to ever go wrong with the vehicle were promptly fixed under warranty. The sales guy who sold us our car is still here and will probably get to sell us our next one. If you like Kias, this is a great place to buy one.
Well, it turns out the same salesman who sold us our 2013 Sportage (which we still have and with which we are extremely happy) got to sell us a second new Kia, a Niro LX hybrid that's been averaging 49 MPG, and we prefer the fast lane, tyvm. Keep up the good work. You've earned our business.
I truly enjoyed my experience at SM Kia. Vegas made the experience comfortable (bad jokes and all ) plus I didn't feel rushed. I hate the car-buying process and this is the first time I didn't feel like my business was just another commission. The finance team answered all my questions and didn't move forward until I felt comfortable. Overall, I'm beyond satisfied with my purchase and appreciate Vegas and guys at SM Kia helping me.
Excellent customer service! I dreaded the thought of having to go to a dealership to find a new car. I always feel pressured and taken advantage of. Thankfully, this was NOT the case at Shawnee Mission KIA! They made my fiance and I feel comfortable as soon as we stepped onto their lot. Our sales consultant, Anthony Hayes, was easy to work with and respected all of our wishes and boundaries. Their finance consultant, Stacy, did not pressure us and respected our decision. She was very interpersonal and easy to work with. Overall, I felt like I got the car I wanted for a good deal with respectful and professional dealership.

Truly disappointed. I worked with a salesperson for about a month to get everything in line to purchase a car. When it came time to sit down and select a car I was told the interest rate for a used car and a new car was almost double what I expected. When I went online to check out my qualifications with the lender I learned that the sales person/Kia was up charging the interest rate by about 10% for new and 13-14% for a used car.
At least I was able to get a car somewhere else and get the right interest rate for a more quality car.
I wish I could give no stars.

Kenzel Simmons is awesome! He was able to step in place for a sales person that was out of the office and took great care of us rather than us having to wait for a previous sales person we were dealing with, and still have the previous person credit for the sale. He's got a great personality and even offered to use his Kia commission card to have an extra car key made so that we didn't have to spend the extra $$ after just purchasing a vehicle. What an awesome guy to deal with!
