I usually don't write reviews and when I read reviews I am usually very skeptical of the positive comments but I can assure all of you reading this that this is being typed by a real customer that had a truly great experience. I would like to preface the rest of this review by saying that I had been shopping for a vehicle for no joke 6 months and had visited and dealt with many dealers and many salesman/ saleswoman. By the time I got to SMK I was done with dealing with the slimy, bulldog sales approach that I was pleasantly surprised to meet Will. My sales consultant (note I did not say salesman) Will did not try and hard sell me at all. He listened very well when I described to what him I was looking for, he found me exactly what I wanted, he worked to get me the price I wanted, and he outcompeted Bob Sight Kia for my business. My suggestion to all of you would be to at the very least give Will a shot because I can assure that if your experience is anything like mine he will do everything he can to get you what you want. He has delivered on all of his promises and legitimately made this a positive experience.

Kenzel Simmons helped me through and through. Had some up hill battle with our credit but we got a super nice! Kia Optima very happy with his service!

Attended the Kia facility to buy my first car for my 18th birthday. I was helped by a very friendly, pleasant guy named Vegas... His customer service is awsome, best I've received from other dealerships I've visited. He gave me assurance that I was a valued and customer and wanted to meet all my needs as a first time buyer. I would recommend anyone who visits this facility to ask for Mr. Vegas. You won't regret it!

Ryan D coordinates a shuttle ride for me so I could get to work on time. He also kept me up to date on the status of my vehicle during the entire process. Very busy service center, but they make it work. Thank you!

Awesome service. After road side service failed to figure out why my low tire pressure light was on on a very cold and windy day. I drove my car into this dealership and explained my problem. I was back on the road in 10 minutes. Roadside service failed to check the tire pressure. If they had they would have realized that I was only low on air. NOT a serious problem as the guy said it could be on the side of the road. Friendly and efficient staff.

I really did not think I was going to get a new car due to my past credit problems. Kenny came in on his day off just to help me get financed and a car that I love. He was fantastic! It was nice not to feel forced or pushed into buying something that I couldn't afford. He worked hard at getting me a good price and car that I love!!! I've never bought a car on my own..Kenny went through everything with me until I understood it. He was awesome!!!!

Just bought my 4th car from Kia. Not because they broke down lol but because they are so awesome. They were the only ones to get me into a certified used car about 6 years at a very affordable monthly payment when no else would. I went back a couple years later my credit was improved so I upgraded to a newer car and lower interest rate. This year again. My son bought a car from them too also at a really affordable monthly payment. And my husbands car is in the works. I m sure all the sales people are good but we always deal with Goni. He is the best.

Robert Fell was an excellent Sales Representative. His customer service skills were awesome and he made sure i got exaxctly what i wanted and at a price i could afford.

The Service Techs are always helpful and striving to get me the best deal on services. I also walk away feeling confident the service on my vehicle has been done well. Thank you SM Kia staff!

However, if there were anything that would compel me change dealerships for my service, it would be the wait time. My dad was a mechanic by trade and an oil change takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
I waited almost two hours. People kept coming into the waiting area but no one was leaving. I thought I was at the Hotel California there for a bit. SM Kia is a great business but they need to either appropriately staff or appropriately schedule their appts. Something is seriously amiss and needs to be corrected.

Vegas was incredible - great personality, he went out of his way to make the process of buying a new car easy for my family, he even gave my cranky toddler bananas out of his own lunch. Had a great experience overall.

I enjoyed my experience with Tony, Chris and Nick. Nick was able to get the vehicle financing at exactly what I needed it to be. Tony and Chris not only got the car I wanted, but got it in the colors that I preferred. The car exceeded my expectations and was BRAND NEW and never driven, I was so excited. I love my car and it gets around great in the snow. I purchased a 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid and they are amazing cars, so far, I have no complaints! Thank you so much Shawnee Mission Kia, you made my experience a good one!

Very bad, the experience I had was great at first but when we got into the nitty gritty, found out that the car was "mislabeled"....and had been negotiating on the wrong car the whole time...wasted several hours on that...came back the next day...glutton for punishment I suppose...to talk about the RIGHT car...and then negotiated for another 3 hours came close to a deal to find out that they lied to me about the mileage. Unbelievable...I'm sure these things happen at low budget dealerships but this was a name brand KIA dealership....wow...wow.....oh and EVERYTHING takes forever at this one

I've been going to SM Kia for at least 5 yrs for service, generally just an oil change. All of the regular guys who know me and take exceptional care of me are GONE. The new system they have is horrible. I can't get scheduled any time soon (usually 2-3 wks out), they don't know pricing (seriously?). I've tried calling a few different times hoping it was a fluke.

Going elsewhere for my service from now on.

Everyone was very helpful, nice and let me decide what I wanted to do. Tony Koehler was a great salesman. Very easy going, easy to talk to and not pushy. I would definitely recommend others to shop at this location.

Asked for car under $12k, got a car that the best price they could do was several hundreds of dollars over what I asked for.

Nothing special about this dealership. The prices are above average at best but even if they lower the price, they just jack it back up with astronomical "documentation fees." Just another way to lure you into the dealership and then make you pay more.

Please don't reply to this asking me to call you to "do business." That won't fix anything I have issues with.

Our salesperson, Goni, was professional, knowledgeable, and just a pleasure to work with. Facility was amazing and both the sales manager and finance manager were friendly and easy to work with. The car we purchased was cleaned and detailed and Goni checked it over before it was delivered to us. I look forward to working with them in the future!!!

I have been advised to collect information from customers of Shawnee Mission Kia who may have had an experience similar to what I am currently going through with this dealership. If you have had integrity issues or concerns with SM Kia, please use this forum to let others know, or other review forums. By integrity issues or concerns, I mean being given MISINFORMATION regarding the financial aspect of buying or leasing a car, instead of the truth. Misinformation that may have enticed you to 'seal the deal'. It is unfortunate that this dealership gives their loyal customers no other alternative than to seek a forum like this to vent and put pressure on them to do what is right.

My wife bought her Kia Soul here. She loves her car and really loves the service department. They treat her like a lady and never try to take advantage of her. I highly recommend this dealership to many friends that are looking for a new car.

Came with my daughter to purchase her first car. We worked Jose and he was wonderful to work with. He went above and beyond to give her the best deal possible and to make her first car buying experience a positive one. I would highly recommend them.

I was a first time car buyer and couldnt have went to a better place to make my first big purchase. I had the best sales person there he helped talk me through everything and ensured I was getting my moneys worth. I would recomend Shawnee Mission Kia and him to everyone. His name is Benny Cohen so everyone should go see him !

Service and personnel were fine . Only problem was labor cost. Brought vehicle in at 7:30 am and problem diagnosed as ball joints and sway bar needed replace. Assume work was started at about 8:30 am and was completed by 11:00. Total labor was 518.85. That means labor was over $200 per hour. Fairly excessive in my opinion.

Work with a guy named Kenzel Simmons he's a superb guy to work with. He's the man!

This service department used to be amazing. I ve been going there since I bought my first Optima is 2014. They changed service department managers with a guy that supposedly came from the BMW service department. He ran the service department into the ground. They started providing awful service, long wait times to get an appointment (sometimes weeks), they would leave you set in the waiting area 3 hours for an oil change, they wouldn t reset the next service due indicator, the number of miles on the sticker til your next oil change one time would say 3,000 the next time 4,000 and sometimes even 6,000 miles. Which is it?!?! And that was only IF they remembered to put the decal up on the window. The list of changes that caused negative customer impact goes on an on. I kept expressing my dissatisfaction over and over and no one there showed the slightest interest. I put up with it because I only get my car serviced at the dealership. Everything including wiper blades and tires. Before all of these negative changes were made that caused severe negative customer impact, I had bought 2 cars there and my parents had bought one. My parents are also experiencing very similar problems and have several of the same complaints I have. Today I had an 11am appointment. I sat in line in my car till 11:30 before anyone even acknowledged I was there. I was told they now have a new service manager. This one appears to be worse than the last. I dropped my car off and got a ride home. Approximately 4 hours later they call to let me know my car was almost ready. Shawnee Mission Kia used to be a great dealership. Now I do not think I will ever return. It s not about money to me. I could probably save money and go elsewhere, but I want Kia certified and trained mechanics working on my car, along with factory parts. How they have changed is very disappointing and unsatisfactory. The Kia corporation needs to look into this problem and find out why a customer focused dealership has turned into such a mess leaving customers frustrated and unsatisfied. At this point the service department just needs to close so it doesn t ruin Shawnee Mission Kia s good name and reputation. It is that bad. My recommendation is to stay as far away as possible!

I purchased a Used Car from Shawnee Mission Kia this weekend. It was the Best experience I have ever had with buying a car. My sales person was Tracey and he made sure that I received every deal that they were offering at that time. He was very informative with products knowledge, made sure that I understood and was aware of everything that happened during the process. He makes sure that all his customers are truly satisfied.

My experience here was actually really great. Vegas helped me out in more ways than one, not only with the car but also with helping get the information that I needed to purchase. He went as far as to take me to Kohl s to get information from them, and even bought me coffee when he saw me yawn. We sat and listened to edm majority of the time while we re waiting to hear back from banks. 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing to purchase a car for the first time, ecspecially if Vegas is the one helping them out. Much love, good vibes all the way.

I bought a used kia optima 2015 from this location. From the very beginning there was issues that they would do absolutley nothing to help us with. Within 2 weeks to a month of purchasing the car, the passenger door handle fell off and they wouldn't do anything about it, 4 1/2 months after purchase the battery is completely trash still no help. Would and will never buy a car from here again.

I went to Shawnee mission Kia last Sunday to purchase a car. I got there before they opened to look around & a salesman came out to help me. He listened to what I was looking for and treated me with so much respect. There was no pressure at all and I felt amazing after purchasing. We were lucky to get salesman Benny Cohen when we went to Kia. I had been shopping around at quite a few places and my credit is pretty low. My mom was willing to co-sign but we still couldn't find the right car at the right place and the right loan. Right away, we both could tell that Benny was no ordinary sales man. He was kind, genuine and had a great sense of humor. He got us a great loan, and instead of getting me into a used car, like I had been looking for, he got me into a brand new Kia Soul for a price I could afford!! He was AWESOME! I brought up the hampster cardboards and he brought them outside to participate in my "new car celebration" photo. He then sat in the car with me and showed me how everything worked. Love him! Awesome guy, great salesman. Justin in finance was really great too! Very personable and helpful, explaining things in terms we could really understand. I can't say enough good things about this dealership, except: don't waste your time going anywhere else. Just go here first. See what they can do for you. Our salesman, Tony Koehler, was fantastic. He was very professional and friendly. We had a small mix-up with the checks used for payment, but it was sorted out without too much hassle.

I ve actually probably give it 4 1/2 stars if that were an option simply because I was told there would be a one hour and 45 minute wait and it turned into three hours. Other than that, though, clean waiting area, excellent service, and, if Asked, yes I would go back again.

We spent a few hours here due to an Internet problem, but Ron J. was very entertaining and helpful in the whole process of buying our new car! All of the staff were very friendly and made this experience very easy for us.

There's no place I would recommend more than Shawnee Mission KIA. The customer service is A1 and everything is perfectly explained. Purchased a 2017 Sorento last year , came back this week and upgraded to a 2019 Sorento. No regrets yet. Goni was great and went above and beyond for me. Got a customer for life.

I have always owned Honda's, I came across KIA and i called to see about a car i liked, i spoke to Kenzel Simmons, Oh man instantly i felt like i knew him for years. He didn't pressure me into anything. He wasn't pushy, he was so kind and what you see with him is who he is, he doesn't hide behind a "sales man" face. I ended up buying my car 4 days sooner then i had planned. Mind you we was hit with a pretty crazy snow storm while i was at KIA. I was almost done there just waiting to sign some paper work. Kenzel ( like Denzel ) was just hanging out with me and my family to make sure we was ok. He didn't need to stay or wait. His part was done. Just so caring and genuine. I will buy from him again. I drove a 2004 Chevy Impala for the last 10 years up until about a month ago. My salesman Robert Fells and i go way back. I didnt know he worked for Kia until about a yr ago. I told him what my dream car was and to look out for me. He did just that. Called me and said "we have that white 2015 Impala youre looking for". Well, least to say, Robert called me Fri, i looked at it Sat, and signed the papers Sun. These guys here at Shawnee Mission Kia make it happen. Just got a wonderful Sonata Hybrid sedan. Am loving the quietness and smoothness of the ride. Got a great deal by trading in an old Jeep that I hated. Jose helped me make this deal quickly and easily. He is so friendly to work with and knew just what I wanted. Kenzel Simmons was more than AMAZING. I was treated rudely by Goni and was directed to Kenzel by the GM, and could not be more pleased. They were super busy but even in the midst of things he kept checking on me and my family and made sure we were not forgotten. We were approved and sent on our way, but we made a good friend and will be back to see him when we're ready to trade our new car in.

Terrible service. Nothing but a cash grab.

I brought in my fiance's 2016 model a few days ago because the air conditioner stopped working. They looked at it for a few minutes and told me it was going to be $130 for diagnostics and wouldn't consider doing any warranty work until we paid in advance for the diagnostic.

I immediately called Lawrence Kia to see about an appointment, they got me in next day, within 3 minutes had diagnosed that a hose was cracked and breaking apart, and had the car fixed under warranty at no charge to me, including a recharge of the AC system.

It obvious that Shawnee Mission Kia wanted us to pay that $130 up front so they could then charge Kia for the warranty work as well. Abysmal service.

Thomas Miller our salesman was terrific. He spent the time with us that was needed. He is an awesome guy. Got the car that I wanted and couldn't be happier.

Took car to Singer Automotive in Brookside and was told they d potentially charge almost $1,200 for a rear left brake for a fix to my 16 year-olds car he bought by himself (used Kia) about 5 mo. earlier. I called Kia directly and asked if they thought that sounded excessive. They said they definitely didn t see why it would have to be that big of a hit.
Picked car up and took it to Kia Service dept (to Josh) and we ended up fixing a handful of other minor issues as well for under $330 when said and done. Compared to the $1,200 estimate for the local shop - this was a windfall for a new driver.
The other place even tried to hit my son up for a fee when we chose to take it to a new place.... really?!

Kia really was awesome with fair prices and worked around appointments to actually fit our schedule. Highly recommend!

Great job from to to bottom. I have never purchased a Kia or walked into a Kia showroom. This was my first experience and I was a great one! Most people dread dealing with car "salespeople". Benny greeted me at the door (didn't chase me down on the lot) and helped me purchase a vehicle for my company. No pressure, none of the back and forth. I told him how much I wanted to spend and purchased the car for that price. Easy in and out on the paperwork. If you're looking for a nice car without all of the car sales games, head to SM Kia. I will purchase at least 3 more vehicles in the future and will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

My sister and I both went to shawnee mission kia days apart and has a great salesman AJ Achilles was awesome patient and very understanding! I was a first time buyer and he really helped with talking me through the whole process and making sure I understand everything clearly. If your looking for a car I recommend coming to this place and asking for Aj Achilles!

My wife and I bought an eight year old well used van (150,000 miles) at the beginning of August to accommodate our expanding family. We got a great deal on it and were taken care of by our sales representative. The van mechanically has been great.

Less than two weeks into owning the vehicle the air conditioning went out (which we were told had been addressed by our sales representative). I thought I was buying a vehicle I wouldn't need to put much money into for at least a while. I had checked and they had major maintenance records for the van.

I called to inquire about when to expect to receive my title because nothing had been communicated to me about it and I thought I should have seen within two weeks. That was addressed and taken care of very appropriately. I was then transferred to a manager to ask about the air condidtioning.

I was told that they would not take care of it because it was a "value" vehicle. All that was offered was a 10% discount on parts and lower labor fees. They concentrate on making sure their vehicles are safe to drive only was a comment made to me.

This was very disappointing to have to put more money into a car I just paid $10,000 cash for. Air conditioning in a van that my kids are going to be in while driving in August is a safety issue. I understand that I bought a used vehicle. I in no way expect it to be a perfect vehicle, but I was told something that was addressed and it failed days after purchasing it.

My wife and I bought a car from Matt Schmidt over the holiday and were very pleased with the ease and no stress purchase would go back and buy another car from them!
