the room are clean, the hotel staffs friendly with efficient of work, the greatest hotel i ever stay in penang.

Service,cleanliness,facilities and location were excellent. My personal preference for a harder bed and firmer pillows if met , would have made this stay exceptional.
I will still recommend this hotel to my friends.

Experience was overall good. We booked the club room. One of the staff in the cafe Mr. Subbaiah treated us very well, definitely a five star treatment was given to us. He informed us about what we are entitled to under the club room. Thanks. Will definitely come back whenever we come to Penang.

Accessible to Art Street and Street Hawkers but need to walk for at least 15mins and make many turns to reach each destination. Komtar shopping mall next to Hotel has nothing much to shop for compare to malls in JB or KL. Drainage in shower is slow and always flooded.

very helpful staffs from front office and Club lounge, and fast respond from the housekeeping. GM was friendly too.

The check in process was smooth and seamless.We were attended to the moment we approached the reception counter. Special thanks to Sanjay, who was attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Excellent customer service over the counter. Room was clean and tidy and ready to receive us the moment we entered. I like the flooring. A change from the usual carpet. No need to worry about carpet's foul smell and dust mites and the room is spacious for 3 pax. Toilet is clean with all basic toiletries inside. Housekeeping support was superb.

We got to enjoy the facilities at Golden Sands Resort by Shangri La over at Batu Feringhi beach. Theres even a shuttle service to and fro and its free. Its like going sightseeing too.

Deserved mentioned is Liakot from housekeeping. He's been keeping our room tip top. We always returned to a clean and tidy room. All toiletries replenished too and included new clean white towels. A wonderful gesture by Jen Hotel i.e we got a late check- out. It gave us ample time to freshen up before our flight home.
Overall the hotel staffs were wonderful throughout our stay in Jen Hotel. You can store your luggage at the reception after you've checked out and you still have sometime to shop before going to the airport.

Jen Hotel is within UNESCO World Heritage site. I would recommend you to taste the hotel's breakfast at least a day because the food Penang has to offer is all within close proximity of Jen Hotel. Strongly recommended is Nana Tomyam which offers Halal Thai cuisine. We had our dinner at this place. Its cheap and fulfilling . RM50 set A good enough for a family of 3 adults. Its located at Lebuh Dickens. Try it out! For souvenirs to bring home go to Chowratsa market or Komtar. Price is reasonable. I'll come back to Jen Hotel when we visit Penang again.

Hotel Jen Penang is great in that it allows guests to choose to eat breakfast either at the cafe or at the club lounge. Its location is perfect for shopping and sightseeing. Staff at the club lounge and at the cafe were all very friendly and helpful too. ON check out, we were presented with some mars bars because we were disturbed early morning by a false fire alarm caused by a guest who smoked in his room, didnt expect the nice gesture

First off, during check-in the receptionist is not very welcoming. When asked about breakfast buffet - was told to walk in the next day and pay there. Apparently, another colleague of mine who stay at the same hotel, of same room rate was told he could pre pay for breakfast buffet at rm30. for walk-in rate i had to pay 50+ including tax. Jen Hotel should have had a standardized policy on this. I was very upset with this. Pillows and mattress in the room - may need to be replaced, very squishy to the extend it hurts your back after 2 nights.

Check-in and check-out process took about 10 minutes for me to settled. In this digital age, this can be considered long process. Please improve this in future.

Good service, like it, especially when you are in the executive lounge

The location is very good. There are 3 shopping centres around the corner. Street art area is also nearby. The staff are very friendly and the room is clean. I am especially impressed at the club lounge with Mr William's friendliness and his sharp observation about details. If there is anything that should be improved, i will think that the area near the children pool should be designated clearly as non-smoking.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Helpful and efficient staff.
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay.

I must say, the family room was great for us. We had a very good night sleep, bed was comfortable and the room was just nice for us. (2 adults and 2 kids) Only a short walk to the famous Mccallister Road. Will definitely stay in Hotel Jen the next time we travel to Penang.

All the staffs were pleasant and helpful. It was indeed a great stay. Thank you Hotel Jen Penang for the hospitality. We were a little bit unsatisfied though that during the night where there were a powertrip not one staff came to explain or ensure us that everything will be fixed. My mom was in the toilet when it happened. A lot of things could have happen so an assurance would be great. We waited for quite some time before the power came back up. We didn't want to say anything much because we knew that all the staffs must be running around trying to settle things.

Love the location. Rooms are very spacious and clean with great room amenities. Will highly recommend to family and friends.

Hotel Jen is aptly named. It's a gem in the 'Pearl of the Orient'/Penang. We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-night stay in the Club Deluxe Room. Outstanding features include the front desk staff (William, Wan, Tiffany, Nisha), the super-efficient interns/hoteliers (Irkmar, Gunarwan, Eka), well-lit guest room, the smell of fresh clean linen & comfy bed plus panoramic view of city from our window. Club Lounge service and ambience is unsurpassed. Love the atmosphere. Would definitely come back again.

Your toilet outlet flow from the sink and shower is extremely slow. Room 511.

Check-in was toooooo slow. Understandable since a trainee was at the counter. However, such situations only let know the improvements needed.
Check-out was pretty fast and smooth though as an experienced person was attending the counter.

The only problem I had was figuring out the hot water?
I kept turning the handle towards the red dot in the shower and getting cold water. I kept waiting for the hot water to come out. I did this for about three days.
Hotel staff finally came and showed me to turn the handle towards the blue dot to get hot water.
I was also told not to trust the Hotel water so I used bottled water for brushing my teeth that was a pain. if that could be resolved that would be great.

i love the breakfast spread especially the noodle station!
Room was great.Bed and pillows were comfortable.
However, the check-in process was really slow, maybe due to the high volume of guests arriving simultaneously.

Eventhough it was a short stay and last minute booking, Leena, the front office staff politely explain and check the booking for me. I requested non-smoking room, but to no avail at the time of check in. Since Leena ask if I would like to settle with smoking room if they provide ionizer for 1 hour to remove the smoking smell - I said yes. I checked in, and then went out to the adjacent shopping mall for 1 hour (during this hour, they ionized the room). When I get back, the smoking smell has gone, specially in the toilet. Booked an all-you-can-eat dinner at Jen Cafe. No crowd, just me and family. The food were awesome. Chefs and staffs are very friendly and helpful. In room Internet was fast. Sufficient power points and relaxing environment to do some computer work. Sofa bed was ready when we checked in, and my kids love it. As I booked for room only without breakfast, I was glad I did so as I saw the Q for breakfast quite long coz accordingto the SOP (temperature checking, limited space, non-buffet) but manageable.
The only thing that trouble us is the parking was full when we checked in and have to park at St. Giles parking. Luciky it was free.
I booked last minute because of water shortage in Balik Pulau area during my holiday and I am glad I choose Jen Hotel. Overall, I had great experience in Jen Hotel. Superb service from start to the end. Definitely will come again. Thank you Jen Hotel.

Awesome place. Very well maintained. View from the hotel is too good. Neat and tidy rooms. There are no kitchen equipments. There is only a kettle. Iron box available.

The Hotel has a good location and is right next to a shopping mall.
The rooms are clean, have a modern design and are very spacious.
The pool area was a bit "naked". A lot of concrete and a small pool. A few plants would make this area nicer. The breakfast was a bit disappointing compared to other hotels. All in are the main clientele seems to be chinese so perhaps this is why the breakfast was a bit disappointing for Europeans. I would give this hotel 3,5 Stars with a tendency to 4.

Coffe house should have bigger place to handle crowd, I ve waited 20 minit just to have breakfast.... and checkout late because have to wait for me to have sign on the paperwork and cannot done by my spouse... so frustrating

Very poor reception service. Arrived at the hotel at 2:00pm to do a check-in, but was told that the room was not ready. The room will only be ready after 3:00pm. While not fulfilling the hotel's promise to check-in at 2:00pm, the receptionist informed the check-out time is at 12:00pm. Come on, you can't allow guest to check-in on time, but would like the guest to check-out at 12:00pm sharp!! How fair is that!?

Upon returning to the reception at 3:45pm, I have to queue (and mind you, I was standing) for 45minutes to wait for my turn to re-check in again.

Location at the one of major road at Penang, Centre of Georgetown city. If ur a travel easy to get taxi, grab even bus. Connection/ beside of Komtar n 1st Avenue mall. Serounding by other Hotels and Veriaty of Cafes and street foods nearby. Business travel choice hotel.

Stayed in Georgetown Suite. Staff are friendly. Easy acess to Komtar. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Checked in process was good. However, I booked online and got the 30 days advance promo. It did not indicate that no breakfast provided. Only got to know about it upon checked in. Was taken by surprise as we really look forward to the nice breakfast after reading much reviews about it. Your staff, Ms Katherine, was patient and kind enough to explain and give us some time to clarify, and we add in the breakfast for one day.
However, the room was not thoroughly clean as we still find some food bits on the floor upon entering. The floor was also feeling sticky.

Good location as near to shopping malls and famous food street at Macalister Road

This hotel is forever changing names. After all this time, I am still amazed at how it has kept up with the times. The rooms have been refurbished many times and tastefully furnished. I will still be back years down the road even when the years are no longer with me. Yes, I have grown old. I see value for money here. Everything is within walking distance here. Old town, street food, the new the old, the hustle and bustle. Just keep exploring. Go back and rest when you tire which by the way is still walking distance. Enjoy.

This is nice hotel to stay because it is in the centre of Penang town area.

I like the hotel officers with casual style, not formal uniform. The hotel officers are friendly and helpful. The hotel room is nice but standard, the pillows are good/comfortable.
The hotel location is good, strategic, near malls, restaurants.

Services are good. Location is convenient and the rooms got renovated recently.

Every department is excellent except the quality of the breakfast - Asian food.

Well maintain, clean and very friendly to customers

The hotel staff can be more focused on the customer need rather than meeting their timelines and work. 2 specific examples from my stay which put me off a little:
1) I was having a 1X1 meeting late in the night, and wanted a beer since it was 11:30. Firstly the BAr lady refused and asked me to order as room service in the Lobby. When I tried doing that, they told me that it can't be done.
2) NExt day for breakfast I reached 5 mins late for breakfast so while some spread was still there they refused the entry. I don't mind that but the lady at the counter didn't allow me a takeaway coffee citing that breakfast time is over. She wasn't wrong, but it left me unhappy.

Great customer service, either room service or up at the front desk.

The stay at Hotel Jen Penang was amazing. We booked a "Club room" with twin beds but got upgraded to an "Apartment". The room was very cozy like a real apartment with a separate bedroom. The Club Lounge was also great. all the staff members were very attentive and nice, and breakfast was great too. The hotel is located the center of George Town and is very convenient to go anywhere.

I had an excellent experience. Staff were courteous and warm, extremely helpful too. Keep up the good work.

Was accorded a cake amenity which came as a surprise. Room was given a high floor as requested. Was involved in a fire drill exercise which evacuated us from the room to level 4. An interesting experience overall. Thank you for the hospitality.

I stayed for less than 24 hours as I was scheduled to take the ferry to Langkawi. However, the hotel receptionist was very polite and well mannered. The services were good and I found the location of the hotel very convenient.

The hotel is located at the heart of Georgetown which provide the convenience for shopping & eating. The most memorable experience is the service from hotel staff. I am impressed with their excellent service.

Centrally located, easy access to all the point of interest and foods. The sofa bed in family room is spacious enough for 2 children, room was clean, air conditioning was working well. Generous drinking water were provided, bath amenities were refilled daily. Recommend to those who like to explore the city.

We Stayed for 2 nights for my boyfriend's birthday and all is been perfect. The day of his birthday we found a cake in the room. We loved this surprise and it was free!

Good location. Comfortable room. Air conditioning is working perfectly.

The breakfast is quite good. Good selection of breakfast with Western and local cuisinea. However the breakfast room space is limited so you might have to queue and wait for seat.

This is a refurbished old hotel, so some parts of the hotel look and feel old, such as the swimming pool.

Gym is quite ok, mix of old and new equipment.

The staff and service are quite good.

As a guest here, we can have access to Golden Sands Batu Ferringhi facilities. There is a free shuttle to and from Golden Sands.

Very great hospitality with an affordable price. Food is the best.

During check in I was informed by Suzie on 6/7/19 (Sat) at around 12pm that I will be upgraded to family room due to deluxe room is fully book. I was pleasantly happy after hearing it. However during my check in on the same day at 4pm I was surprised to check out that the room is just a normal Deluxe room. The queue wasnt that long for check in but I waited for a good 5-7 mins to get the room key. I was not happy cause I was not informed on whats happening until I checked in the room and realised that it wasnt any family room which was been informed and i took the initiative to call to reception and they get the reception to call me back to explained that I was given back the room I booked cause there were customer cancelled their room. First of all, I was delighted but end up I was disappointed cause the room is not what been informed and I was not informed that I will be given back Deluxe room when I when to get room key. I clearly remember was being told I was being upgraded and even signed on the tab with the remark of family room being given. This wasnt a good experience overall and the room I stayed was actually give up and cancelled by a customer. It wasnt a sign for staying in a room which customers cancelled last minute and I was truly disappoint by the explanation given, The hotel should have just honored and made it up as it a total disappointment in the end.

They shouldnt informed me in the first place and did not honored the word. This is not the first stay with Jen. Indeed I have stayed here even before the name was changed from Traders. I guess this has been a total turn off to me.

It will be even better if I could be upgraded to a higher level room as a diamond member .

A newly renovated hotel with a contemporary vibe. The staff are ery friendly and accommodating. Room is clean and spacious. The only issue I had is that the room is not sound proof. Otherwise, the location is in downtown and walkable to Geogetown.

Excellent hotel, good location, friendly check-in staff, clean & tidy room and shower room, complete toiletries and accessories, reasonable price, free 10 minutes pickup parking area or free parking for guest, only main entrance a bit inconvenience due to under renovation. All over is good! Will stay again in my next visit!
