car park not enough/ready for workshop participants.. doesn't have spare car parks for emergency when there are events on particular day that takes up the parking space

Fuss-free check-in experience, front counter staff did well in upselling the suite room package. The suite room itself was extremely comfortable and I had a very pleasant 4-night stay.
As a Shangri-La GC Diamond member I was a little disappointed that despite several reminders I never got my welcome amenities.
Upon check-out, another rather unpleasant experience marred what would otherwise be a pleasant stay. I called the front office the night before departure from my room, and after identifying myself and my room number, I said that I wanted to specify a check-out time. Before I could continue, I was cut-off mid-sentence by a staff (who was probably having a bad day), that check-out time is 12 noon. I politely said that, per my GC membership status I had late (6pm) checkout. The staff did not apologize, she simply put me on hold and after a few moments, cut off the call. I had a call back a minute later to say that my check-out is now 6pm.
I think, upon reflection, that I should probably just check-out via the app and specify my own check-out time from there. I called the front desk so that I can revalidate the room card at the same time.
I generally have an excellent experience across the Shangri-La hotel brands, but over two visits over two years to Penang I would say that the general level of knowledge of this particular hotel's staff on Golden Circle benefits is probably somewhat lacking

Great place for a stay in penang. Wonderful location.
There should be a variety of options for breakfast, as well as parking spaces. Not every elderly person is convenient to walk, and a service should be provided to transport residents to the opposite parking lot.
Rooms not much changes from old Shangri-la. Its clean and comfortable.

Customer service was great. My family and I had to wait for 2 extra hours to for the second room to be ready but our complaint was handled well by the staff and we were generously compensated with complimentary breakfast which I felt was really nice of the hotel. Concierge was helpful and friendly when we asked for recommendations. I only took out the final star because the WiFi was slow. Overall pleasant experience with Hotel Jen.
It's only one night for me to attend my nurses dinner . But definitely will go back again
