We had an unusual (as far as I can tell) experience at the Globe. We saw three plays: Henry IV Pt. 1, Henry IV Pt. 2, And Henry V, all over the space of a single day (and with repeating casts across them). It was quite a lot to take in, but the casts were marvelous and the overall experience was great. We moved around in the theater for each show, and the rental cushions were a blessing (hard bench seats otherwise). It is worth noting that there is no such thing as an "unobstructed" view, not really anyway. Because of the layout of the theater (thrust stage, if that means anything to you) there are always pillars obscuring _some_ parts of the action. However, our day at the Globe was one of my favorites of our time in London, and if I was to go back I would be strongly in favor of going back again.

We had such a good time during the Tour of Shakespeare's Globe. Our tour guide was very informative and we really enjoyed looking around the theatre and expanding our knowledge of Shakespeare's plays and the history of how he started his theatre live plays. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone who likes Shakespeare or just wants to learn more.

If you go to London for the first time, you have to go and see it, but the truth is that since I do not like Shakespeare's theme, I got bored with the guide's explanations. It's a pretty good reproduction. Admission was free with the London Pass, but they are expensive.

Amazed by the fact what it represents and therefore expecting monumental size, one can be a little disappointed by the size. Nevertheless, gorgeous building. Unfortunately, I did not have time to visit the inside. It's definitely a stop you have to make during your stroll on the South Bank of the Thames.

i dont remember leaving a review but better late than never? went to see a Midsummers Nights Dream last May with my visitor from the US and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction of the actors/actresses with the crowd. We had seats upstairs front row, so a wonderful view of all that was taking place below :)

There was a very rude usher who almost caused me to leave. I came back after the interval and took my spot. She was behind me and told me to move I had taken her spot. She actually put me in front of steps creating a safety hazard. Several of the ushers were rude to my students. I would seriously have to want to see a show to return. I work in theatre and know this wasn't necessary.

I have seen most Shakespeare plays and countless eminent actors but this production of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' set in 1930s has, for me, left everything else in the shade. The casting is perfect; the timing, energy and wonderful characterisation from each performer ensured that the humour and brilliance of the writing shone through. A bonus was the excellent trad-jazz music played live on stage at appropriate points in the story-line. Talented musicians, superb actors and, all in all, a truly wonderful experience.

A reconstruction of Shakespeare's Globe Theater a few hundred meters from its original location. These are guided tours and if you are lucky, you will come across a true enthusiast who will immerse you in the atmosphere of the time.

Theater plays are performed here. It must be magic to attend. But suddenly, remember to check the opening days and hours because there is very logically no visit when there is a representation.

Well restored building with all the charm of antiquity whilst adding modern amenities. Note that tours of the theatre only run in the morning as they stage performances (whose tickets sell out FAST) in the afternoon.

The guide was very precise and the tour of the theater takes about half an hour, then there was also part of the props and costumes. There is also the possibility to see shows by buying another ticket for the evening, when there is the available date

My three stars is due to the fact that I have not visited inside because there being in place of the scene evidence was visited only partially with one guide in English. Given the cost, I sent back to a possible last time. But I know the history of the reconstruction and saw the interior photos. Intelligent operation that perhaps in Italy they would not have done. Very cute and cozy the store where I bought the gadgets and beautiful of course the outside as well as the around the riverside.

A theatre (both the physical and the vocational) as relevant today as it was in Shakespeare's time.

We were enamoured by today's matinee performance of Hamlet. Michelle Terry's manner of carrying out a tremendous role was nothing short of majestic (no regal pun intended).

Thank you to Federay Holmes, Elle While and all the cast and crew.

As a lover of English literature (even if she is not a fan of Shakespeare) the visit here could not be missed. Very nice, well reconstructed and very faithful to the original. I arrived at the opening time and had to wait twenty minutes for the guided tour. While waiting, you can see some rooms furnished for tourists and there are cabins where you can listen to some monologues drawn from comedies and tragedies. I had just started to feel or not be acted by kennet branagn when they called for the visit. The guide was very prepared and very pleasant to listen to (and I am a nightmare for all the guides as I ask questions about everything). Sitting where the audience sat in 1500 makes you feel like you are catapulted backwards, especially knowing that every now and then elisabetta went to the theaters in disguise and makes you think if maybe you were sitting right where you are at that moment, even if you know that is not the original. Unfortunately I did not attend any show, and not having paid the ticket because I visited the London pass I bought the bracelet at 1 pound to finance the theater.
