Great spot to take a look and see a show. Shakespeare comes alive from the yard and the acoustics are great. I saw the merry wives of Windsor and was quite amused throughout. They did a great job all the way around, though I'm not sure it mattered to update it to be set in the 1920s.

Very interesting and informative. My visitor thought it was a bit pricey but it is London and there's a lot more expensive places than here. The tour guide was funny, polite and very knowledgeable. Will definitely take visitors again

We saw 'As You Like It' and had a wonderful time. We had standing tickets and made sure to be there about an hour early. We were able to stand right next to the stage which was great since it was helpful to lean against since the show was More

A 1990 s reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre, where William Shakespeare s company used to act in the XVI century. As a HUGE Shakespeare lover, I d been wanting to go my whole life and wasn t disappointed! I highly recommend the guided tour, our guide was super funny and well prepared. They still play dramas (mainly but not exclusively Shakespeare s) in the theatre during summertime, and during wintertime in the smaller theatre next to the Globe.

Incredible performers, highly enjoyable shows, highly recommend to any visitor or local to just watch a show. Even if it's just a last minute standing ticket, the experience is well worth it! Tip: if standing, arrive 20 mins pre show to be front and centre. Wear comfortable shoes. If potential for rain, wear a hood. Avoid seats on the sides during shows without amplification (if voice projection, difficulties in hearing if a performer's back is to you). Best seats are centre, any level. Also to the newbies: there is an interval to plays. It is not the end when the doors reopen for the first time.

Very fun, I couldn't stand the entire time, but I wish I had gotten to see the whole play. If you're standing, your allowed to go out to sit for s short but and go back in. Acting is fun and creative and exciting.

Stay away if you have back pain. Seating, while historical, is cramped, and has nothing for your back to rest against making it impossible for me (with sciatica pain) to stay for the second half of the play I was attending. Staff were mostly sensitive, but alternative seating was not available due to a full house the night I attended. Fantastic performers and staging. Would gladly attend again if allowances were made for more modern seating.

Definitely one of my favorite places in London. Getting tickets last minute is close to impossible, but they have a returned tickets system that sometimes work - that s how I got to see Macbeth and a Midsummer-night s dream that made me laugh out loud from beginning to end (with the current director of the Globe, Michelle Terry). It s a rebuild of the original Globe theater from Shakespeare s time, where you usually watched the plays standing up (there are seating places too). Amazing place, amazing plays, and also a delicious shop with all things Shakespeare, of course, a super recommended tour of the premises, and even a nice restaurant & bar by the river. It deserves a visit as an attraction, even if there s no time/interest to actually watch a play.

A legendary theatre space, and made all the better by the staging of Emma Rice's Tristan and Yseult. What a glorious production, and very friendly staff. All around a lovely place to visit and see a show. A London must-do for visitors and locals alike.

Fantastic way to see Shakespeare & live theatre. The surrounding and acoustics are incredible and make for a cultured and entertaining theatre experience. Having been once and sat then again standing the seating makes for a more enjoyable evening. Also seating is sheltered and you are guaranteed a decent view. Book early to get a good price. This is a must do for both London locals and tourists alike.

Saw the Sixteen with Harry Christophers at the Sam Wanamaker theatre. One of the most stunning venues I have ever experienced; beautiful and intimate. The group and the theatre were a sublime combination.

Super nice theater, in which only candles are used as lighting. Great actors who cast a spell over the visitors. The entire room is the stage. Some actors are in the middle of the audience.
For theater lovers definitely a must do.
Highly recommended.
