I have seen most Shakespeare plays and countless eminent actors but this production of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' set in 1930s has, for me, left everything else in the shade. The casting is perfect; the timing, energy and wonderful characterisation from each performer ensured that the humour and brilliance of the writing shone through. A bonus was the excellent trad-jazz music played live on stage at appropriate points in the story-line. Talented musicians, superb actors and, all in all, a truly wonderful experience.
