Amazing theatre. Very good casting, all actors are great. They take original Shakespeare plays and turn it into something of their own. Amazing casual atmosphere and the standing tickets are quite cheap!

This place is an excellent place for British entertainment. It is very intimate and beautiful. The open ceiling is also fascinating (occasionally you can hear planes going past). The shows have plenty of diversity which I think is excellent and is instrumental in improving the world of theatre. The quality of the drama is also amazing and I would strongly recommend.

I really liked it there. I loved the design of this theatre and especially standing during performance. Even though its not easy to stand 2 hours still you don't think about it coz you enjoy the performance. Thus actors play was very convincing and you could easily believe in what they were saying

really good theatre experience. not to expensive and shows all the classics that ive always wanted to see, theres an option of standing for the whole show like in the old times or sitting like in the new times. really good but id say bring a bolanket if you want to go in the winter because there is a lack of roof.

You also get access to some behind-the-scenes spots and time in the more intimate Sam Wanamaker playhouse. Note that access to some areas may be restricted based on the performance and rehearsal schedule. Our particular tour guide, whose name I do not recall, was passionate and knowledgeable. It helped that our group was small

We took the lead through the Globe. Really recommended, not just for Shakespeare fans. Above all, the interaction with the group was great here. Throughout the informative and humorous tour, all questions were answered in addition to the actual topics. The relaxed atmosphere has ensured that even younger children had their fun. I would like to come back, but also to enjoy a performance.

Wanamaker's wonderful recreation of Shakespeare's original Globe theatre is all inspiring, the theatre, an open cockpit in Oak and thatch, gives a unique perspective of the Elizabethian experience of live drama and development of western theatre, built in licensious Southwark, away from the controls and restraint of the city of London ...it stands as a testament to the phesphians art.

I saw magic, passion, art all by candle light with amazing passionate actors. A stunning performance of All well That Ends Well. Shakespeare was brought to life right down to the people peering over the rails of the balcony. I was taken back in time.

I went to a tour of Shakespeare's Globe theatre in September 2014, and although I found it interesting, I was a little disappointed at the length of the tour. It was only about an hour long, and it wasn't as comprehensive as I expected for the price of the tour. The tour guide talked about the things you might expect, such as the history of the Globe theatres and how the performances now would have differed from in Shakespearean times. However, I got most of the learning from my own reading of the texts in the museum/exhibition part of the Globe. On the whole, it was a good experience, but there wasn't much value-added in terms of the guided tour part of the visit.

It's the Globe. Hard to find bad tickets. Just buy what you can, booking in advance is recommended but if your on a budget there are cheap tickets available the day of (10 euro I think) you just need to wait in line a bit.

As a tall person buying seat cushions was great, I should have also rented a seat back inside, it's nice to have something to lean against.

We enjoyed a very colorful but interesting tour by Matt, who guided us through this beautiful replica of the original globe and told us about the building, the history of theatre and the way the globe was operated then and now. He did so with great enthusiasm and a great sense of humor, which we really appreciated. We also enjoyed the exhibition. The tour and exhibition is highly recommended, I hope to see a play in this interesting place once!

Unique piece of British literature and theatre. While not the original Globe, there's a guided tour of the building and its construction which I found fun and fantastic! Regular shows are on showing not only Shakespeare but other traditional and contemporary work so look online to see what's on offer.

Stunning building. Worth a tour even if you can't make a show. The Shakespeare is usually very good. Worth seeing in the traditional round. However, better still are the non-traditional shows. These take advantage of the very exposed, intimate stage, creating memorable performances.

We watched Romeo and Juliet as a school and it was by far the best performance I've ever seen. The actors were amazing and we'll done to the last minute stand in, she did really well. Thank you to the Globe theatre for our thrilling experience!

It is also always open online, making it accessible to people from all over the world.

The Globe was founded by Sam Wanamaker in 1997 as a reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre where Shakespeare's plays were performed during his lifetime. The new building was constructed using traditional methods and materials to create an authentic Elizabethan experience for audiences.
