Unfortunately we went to an audio-described performance. The units used for this are completely unsuitable for the job and leak sound to the rest of the audience. The result is that the description can be heard several seats away in all directions. Our enjoyment of the performance was vastly diminished. We will take it as a warning in future.

At Burton Taylor theatre, small and perfect for kids

Saw "A streetcar named Desire" very powerful and sad story well portrayed, facilities and staff excellent as always here.

Wow !!!! what a great place ! ! An amazing show !!! We had so much fun, the boys loved it ! Can t wait for next years pantomime!!they were very friendly , the place was very clean too.it was just an amazing night !

Visited to see Little Miss Sunshine and wasn't disappointed.

Poor Panto. Storyline not connected. Poor costumes, non scary witch. All together disappointing

Great theatre in the heart of Oxford, with a very diverse schedule across the year. With children, don t miss their famous pantomime in December !

Really nice size theatre with good views from all round

Went to see Sara Pascoe and although we where in the 'Cheaper seats' it was such a great view as I feel that this theatre is much smaller and more intermit.

A good quality playhouse that offers very good deals for students. The bar is a little small and does get very crowded during intervals however, as the main stage is equipped with a huge amount of seating.

Fantastic atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, lovely place with all types of drink. You can also pre-order interval drinks.

I haven't been to the pantomime for 2 years.The principal singers were very good and as I knew the story I could follow it. Lots of singing and dancing. Just right for all the family

The Playhouse is a comfortable almost intimate but not claustrophobic venue with a varied offering of plays and performances.

Lovely place, and the only theatre in town with comfortable seats.

My first visit to the cafe/bar ...Nice atmosphere...most staff very friendly and welcoming...apart from the bar manager who was training a young lady...he was rude and impatient..and when he served me he was officious and patronising. All in all though it was a very enjoyable experience...and the prices are very reasonable.

A very good theatre with many acts in which are sometimes niche. Good bar and can order interval drinks.

Local theatre showing a fantastic range of both professional, West end and amateur productions. Comfortable and inexpensive seats available. Booster seats available for young children. Cafe open most of the day for anyone.

Following the recent renovations the OP is now an excellent choice for Oxford entertainment. Somehat ironically the New Theatre on George Street now feels a little unloved. The OP is also a more 'open minded' theatre, showing all manner of productions including independent theatre. Excellent service provided.

My friend was questioned multiple times by staff rather rudely about her use of the accessible toilets. Others in the queue weren't questioned so it was obviously a matter of her age. I don't appreciate staff making someone feel uncomfortable using the correct toilets and making her feel like she had to share details of her disability.

The venue itself is nice enough for a small theatre but I was horrified at the response to my friend. NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE

Very good theatre with cnfy seets. We watched two trains running and it was very good. The acting was professionall and the stage looked amazing. They could put coat wardrobe a bit cheaper or donation like so you don't have to bring your coats in if you are not that rich. Overall a great place to spend an evening, bar has acceptable prices with friendly staff. I recommend the show and the theatre. Cheers.

Place to go for Christmas Panto. We enjoy the Playhouse year round.

Beauty and the Beast - Panto. Decidedly AmDram. A Panto for the middle classes. Not great.

i had a bad experiance here envolving the prices of ice cream and other food during the interval. The plays hwoever they regularly show are brilliant and are very entertaining for me, my parents, grand parents and siblings. I come here reguarly due to me living locally and i'll be sure to return soon!

It was a fun performance. It is the same as the 8 year old child, but enjoyed watching. The hall is not big and it was good to see in the back magnet.

Great venue, fantastic show, though a little hectic in the foyer and the bar is a bit slow. Really enjoyed our visit nonetheless :)

Amazing venue for theatre, enjoyed the life of Galileo immensely and will be returning.

Nice friendly place. Not very ornate like many theatres are. Foyer area way too small for interval drinks but hardly their fault. (old building)
