Fascinating tour of the globe theatre to see just what the original globe was like and this being an accurate rebuild of said theatre. Booking is essential for the tours but worth doing. Been twice, rained both times but still an enjoyable experience.

If you're a Shakespeare fanatic, go see a play! The schedule is online, and the prices aren't as expensive as you might think! They have showings every single day, and different events throughout the year. This was one of the first things that I had on my list, and I wasn't disappointed.

Interesting place in front of the Milenium Bridge but as a criticism is that the entrance is not cheap and the visits are only in English so if you do not know the language you will hear the interesting story and if there is an essay they do not allow to take photos

Fascinating insight into how entertainment worked centuries ago, worth taking time to study the plot beforehand, your reward is to be overwhelmed by the intrincies of the discourse and the expressiveness of the characters, more could be done to put act by act and scene by scene info in the 'programme'.

The ticket to visit the theater costs 16 pounds, too much for what they allow to see. The guide in ten minutes tells how it was rebuilt (the original was destroyed) then takes us inside five minutes making sure to be silent and not to take pictures because there are actors who are rehearsing. That's all...

The Globe was amazing! The staff helpful and friendly. It was hot! Take. Fan and a seat cushion (they have them available to purchase). The building itself was incredible! The gift shop was wonderful and there was a small Cafe but it also adjoins with the Swan restaurant. The show fantastic and well performed!

I visited the theatre and partook in a tour late last year, but I cannot forget my experience and feel the need to leave a review, albeit late. My partner and I are Asian-Australians, and were part of a mixed tour group. During the introductions, the tour guide asked everyone to introduce themselves with their name and country of origin. We went around in a circle, but when it came to our turn, the guide looked at us up and down, said "oh, well moving on then" and went straight to the next Caucasian individual. She did this to another Asian couple also, presumably assuming none of us could speak English. Then, she suggested all non-English speakers put in their audio tour headphones, looked pointedly at us, and mimed the actions of putting something into ones ear. This is disappointing and frankly embarrassing for an attraction which no doubt garners visitors from all over the globe. I was so deeply offended by this experience and remain so to this day. I would suggest some education be directed towards tour guides with regards to racial profiling and cultural sensitivity.

Just amazing to walk into this reincarnation of the original. You can feel how it must have been. Don't miss the tour. Adds to the experience. Good museum too. If you're into Shakespeare then suggest you give it minimum 90mins

Always a lovely place to watch a show, very reasonably priced refreshments and they provided paper hats for free to protect our heads (I was in the pit) due to the incredibly hot and sunny weather. There's a lovely range of merchandise available as well, all really nice stuff, for the avid Shakespeare fan like me. The shows here are also always top class, and at such a reasonable price for tickets I can never turn down a trip!

Fantastic experience. The place it self is magical. The seats with no backs were troublesome for my back. The acting was superb. If more selections for veggies and non alcoholic drinks can be added then this would be 5 star.

Loved the play I saw, As You Like It. They incorporated diverse, incredible group of actors that I haven't seen in theater before. I also was impressed by the joyous song and dance they ended the play with. I left the show full of smiles and a wonderful mood, as did all of my friends. Definitely a place worth visiting. Buy the standing tickets and find a place in the back to lean.

Very beautiful. Too bad that the guides speak only in English too fast and it is hard to understand everything. Above all the children. There are cmq of photocopies with general indications of the theater.

We recently watched their adaptation of Hamlet and I really appreciated the gender reversal. The globe looks wonderful, however it got incredibly hot while we were watching as London is going through a heat wave right now, and it pains me to think of how hot the performers must have been in their garments. Perhaps it is time to include some airconditioning within the globe if possible?

Their attempts to replicate an authentic Shakespearean experience does not extend to include throwing rotten fruit at the performers, but the experience was good enough that I didn't feel the need to.

For those who like art history the tour is excellent. There is a service offered with a guide that explains the beginning of theatrical culture based on the ideas of William Shakespeare. Negative point for those who like the topic, but do not understand English. Shakespeare`s Globe could join for the video tours. It would be much more beneficial.

Brilliant open air theatre at a perfect riverside location. It feels amazing to be in there regardless what price you paid for your ticket. In my case we only paid 5 pounds for a standing ticket to see the Midsummer Night's Dream. I can't deny it was a little tiring but you're much closer to the stage than anyone else sitting down and you get to see the props and the actors' facial expression so much better. Definitely recommend it!

Top-notch performances, masterful production, simple but effective and highly enjoyable musical additions. The play we saw was long as hell, and standing on the floor got so tiring that we seriously considered leaving at the intermission ... but we were very glad we stayed. I would totally go back (but book a proper seat next time).
Tanya Moodie's role as Debbie Downer felt a bit overdone and threatened to ruin an otherwise superbly-enjoyable show ... if she could just pull back a bit and have more fun, this could be a truly great production.

Beautiful tour, very prepared and enthusiastic guide of his work, clear English to understand even for the less trained. Recommended visit, if you can also book the shows, the prices of the summer theater are very cheap.

We took a tour and saw a play. The tour was four stars. It was good, but we could have gotten by without it. The play was really well done, and would get five stars. It was very funny with some modern twists thrown in. Well done!

About Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare's Globe is a world-renowned theatre, education centre, and cultural landmark located on the bank of the River Thames in London, UK. The Globe is not just a theatre but an institution that has been dedicated to preserving and promoting Shakespeare's legacy for over 400 years. It is also always open online, making it accessible to people from all over the world.

The Globe was founded by Sam Wanamaker in 1997 as a reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre where Shakespeare's plays were performed during his lifetime. The new building was constructed using traditional methods and materials to create an authentic Elizabethan experience for audiences.

Today, the Globe offers a wide range of performances throughout the year including Shakespeare's plays as well as contemporary works inspired by his legacy. The theatre has become known for its innovative productions that push boundaries while still staying true to Shakespeare's vision.

In addition to performances, the Globe also serves as an education centre offering workshops and courses for students of all ages. These programs are designed to help people understand and appreciate Shakespeare's work while also developing their own skills in acting, writing, directing or other aspects of theatre production.

The Globe is not just a physical location but also an online platform that provides access to its resources from anywhere in the world. This includes live streams of performances as well as educational content such as podcasts and videos that explore different aspects of Shakespeare's life and work.

One unique feature of the Globe is its commitment to sustainability. The building uses renewable energy sources such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems which help reduce its carbon footprint while also providing a model for other institutions around the world.

Overall, Shakespeare's Globe is much more than just a theatre – it is an institution dedicated to preserving one of history’s greatest playwrights' legacy while inspiring future generations with his timeless works. Whether you're visiting London or accessing their resources online from anywhere in the world – there’s something here for everyone who loves great literature or wants to learn more about it!
