Went and saw The Winters Tale and it was excellent. The performance was great, cast was good and the whole atmosphere was awesome. A must do once when in London!

This was the first activity I did as soon as I dropped off my things at my hostel. Despite the dreary weather, you forgot all about it once you were in this magical theater! It made you feel like you were in the 1500's again. I must warn you! It isn't easy standing in the pit for 3 hours especially after you've been backpacking for a week. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! Overall, the experience was completely worth it! I was able to see a modern rendition of Romeo and Juliet along with Nell Gwynn.
Loved the performance Loves Labours Lost we booked seats at the back and could lean on the wall. Great stage craft. Highly recommend small intimate theatre.
This was my first visit to The Globe and I have to say I was very impressed. I was slightly dubious when I heard that the performances were all mic less due to the noisy crowds however I needn't have worried. The sound carried perfectly and at no point was I struggling to hear the performance.
I chose to stand to get the full effect and I think it enhanced the experience although my legs were a bit sore towards the end of the 3 hours. Some of the cast were dotted around amongst the audience making if feel a lot more involved than if it was just on the stage.
This was definitely an experience I want to repeat (although maybe with a seat this time!)
Historical site that's absolutely stunning. A must go for a tourist.
Beautiful theater. Magic environment. Lovely performance. Twelve Summer Night's Dream
My nine year old and I loved watching the Word by Word computerized typewriter tweeting the complete works of William Shakespeare.
Loved it the guide bought the whole place alive. My grandson and I loved it.
Beautiful stage costumes from all periods, participatory demonstration. Audiophone included in the price
An amazing experience to see a Shakespeare play in such an iconic building.
Loved it. Definitely more trips to be arranged for soon. Maybe after it heats up a bit though as I don't think I can stand in the open air for 3 hours in the middle of Winter.
Supposed to be an authentic experience of what people would've been doing when Shakespeare's plays were performed here. Word of warning: if you're gonna visit bring your own seat cushions.
Quite expensive fun for a little tour. Exhibition is nicely done. Best to look at a discount, the full price is a bit exaggerated
Great tour. NOTE: this is NOT the original Globe, but still a fun tour nonetheless. Was very enlightening!
Great atmosphere and brilliant performance by Mark Rylance.
went with my school for a history teio and j have no words except it was amazing, i would totally recommend this
The tour is real fun. Cool to get to explore the building and see a recreation of the original. Get some tickets and see a play there. There are cheap standing tickets available. If you get seats make sure you don't have a seat behind a column.
Great experience. The guide was very good and the headphones meant you did not miss a thing.
Great! If you can go to see Midsummer Night's Dream, I would highly recommend it. It was a lot of fun and the actors are superb. Worth every penny and more!
It looks nice. I only saw it when walking by. Didn't see a theatre but I imagine it would be great.
Great place to visit. Good tour, but couldn't hear what the guide said all the time!!
Historic and we'll maintained. Worth ur time to see a play here
Beautiful place !!!! I would recommend it to everybody who likes theatre or not...
It was wonderful to see this reconstruction of Shakespeare's theatre. We went on a tour with an enthusiastic guide who painted a vivid picture of the sights and smells people would have experienced at the time. An interesting place to see!
Great historical place to visit. Built on the site of the original open air Globe theatre, it is the last building to have a thatched roof.
This is a great place for Shakespeare's lovers. I enjoy a play where the actors made an excelent performance.! Recomended.!
Visit with the guide that explains the history of the theater (only in English) during which you can also participate in the rehearsals of the shows. It is worth seeing absolutely (even if the ticket is a bit More
The tour was quite good. We visited it with the london pass, or else it probably would have been a little pricey.
Watching a theatrical performance in London is one of the main things you organize, seeing a Shakespeare is a top-notch experience and Shakespeare's Globe will give you a unique opportunity to see what theaters in the city were like at the time author.
Amazing , but if you have a seat booked hire a cushion as they are wooden benches
Superb theater and the visits are commented by actors who make us want to discover more.
We really enjoyed this site.
amazing. get a ticket for the floor ad get close to ramp and stage...also loved the tour!
Stepping into history, with a midnight performance of Othello.
Great production of As you Like it but the bench seating was incredibly uncomfortable @
A tourist must, the story of how this was built here is as interesting as the performances.
Great places. Only worries, visit mandatory guide with an English guide. So, I did not understand ....
The place is interesting from historic point of view. The entertainment inside is very limited and not so much interested for children and for adults. I was rather disappointed visiting this side.
Othello was brilliant. Good interaction between actors and audience.
The theatre has been reconstructed in such a way that you can imagine you have gone back in time. The tour is worthwhile, and our guide was very informative.
It was rebuilt after a fire in 1600. And in the 70s it was made with similar characteristics. It is very picturesque.
A place that seems to breathe, and another time, in the middle of the city of London. This theater is beautiful and the actors who play it (there are permanent residents) are absolutely solar!
Beautiful Jacobean theatre. Very pretty candle lit stage. Unfortunately if if you're asthmatic like me this isn't great especially if the cast are blowing them out and relighting.
Had to leave in the interval, shame!!
What a great way to celebrate London's theatrical history. I loved both this place and the play I saw (Merchant of Venice in May 2015).
We saw the current production of Much ado about nothing, terrific atmosphere, great cast, well with all visit.
Very funny and passionate .. great acting I much say
Lovey experience watching a midsummer night's dream, truly a magic experience in such a historical setting. It was very hot so the lemonade was welcome but very tart!
A little pricey but worth it if you are interested in Shakespeare and the Elizabethan era.
A magic created by the guide, a competent and friendly person, recommended the internal tour
Lovely small theatre, saw Swive here and really enjoyed it
Great visit. Beautiful reconstruction of the Globe. Wonderful museum about Shakespeare, the Globe, and theater in London. The tour was spectacular. Fi was a lovely tour guide.
Always excellent but either bring or hire a cushion.
Standing for the performance was an experience, although a bit exhausting in the heat of the day. The surrounding/venue was inviting & added to the play itself. The actors were intuitive, interacted with the audience positively and were funny in parts. A good day out.
Do the tour and plan on 2 hrs to see all of the the exhibition so you can get the full experience. Don't short-change yourself.
Very nice complex of buildings from the outside just as on the inside. Staff is really friendly. The day me and my friends were there, we could get one performancesor a play even for 5 pounds only.
The play was very good and the venue was great. It gets a three for the staff. Standing floor is not recommended for any young viewers IMO. No sitting, squatting or leaning allowed in this area even by kids. The staff monitors will be harsh for these capital offenses. And God forbid if a young person tries to take a selfie or use their phone. It was sad to see the staff treat some of the young enthusiasts, in such a dispassionate and disparaging way. Should be promoting the arts not discouraging young viewers from the experience. It's a tourist attraction after all and service - attitude is king.
The tour is well worth doing. The guides have good knowledge and is so good and intetestung
Interesting reproduction architecture, but does not really compare to the acoustics or comfort of a modern theater. I would not recommend getting a standing ticket unless the play is only a couple hours.
Worth watching a play in this theater. Do it the old fashion way by purchasing a standing ticket if of course you can cope with the fact that you have to stand up for three hours.
Watching a midsummer nights dream was a delight. Billy Seymour gave an extremely funny and energetic performance as flute. All in all a great day out.
Great cheap experience to watch a great three hour production!
A place that has a long history related to the growth of drama in England. Strategic, convenient location near the river and pleasant. Extraordinary.
