If you're a fan of Shakespeare, make your way here sometime. It's great. They really have a traditional feel, they try to make everything as it was in Shakespeare's time, at the real Globe(which is in a different location)

I went during a summer abroad for a Shakespeare course. We went probably 4 or 5 times, I loved it.

Be a groundling(stand on the ground around the stage during the plays)!

HARRY POTTER FANS! You walk across the Millennium Bridge to get here.

Premier theatre location - featuring some of the Bards greatest and indeed original work if we are to believe the architect of this more recent re-construction of the Elizabethan theatre. Has an indoor and outdoor theatre. Has great atmosphere and well worth a visit even if you don't end up going to the theater. There is lots to see and bargains to be had if you can see the afternoon shows. Fabulous!

Modern style performance of Romeo & Juliet was like being served mcdonald hamburger at a luxurios restaurant. Too much of obscenities for family with young kids. No hint of those thing or warning at the time of ticketing.

The tour was very informative and the building was incredible. If only the original was still standing. For a reconstruction it is however brilliant! Well worth a visit if you are in London.

Wonderfully cultural place, love the open air theatre which allows for so much interaction between the performers and the audience. Come armed with blankets and warm clothes if you are attending in winter though.

Every London visitor should take a tour of the Globe Theater! The really dedicated and good guides in the Globe gave a special insight into what position the theater and especially the Globe had in Shakespeare's time. The theater is also used during the summer months. Two performances a day in 2019 is Midsummer Night's Dream and Henry IV. The covered stage in the Jacobean style is a separate tour and has to be paid for separately

Highlight of trip to london. Went to see Henry IV. Can't pretend to understand everything going on or was said but enjoyed it immensely. Great interaction with crowd. Authentic atmosphere. Nice food in Swan pub beside the theatre. Nice souvenir shop. Highly recommended.

Stunning recreation of Shakespeare's Globe theatre on London's Southbank. Be warned though, this is an open air theayre and you and the performers/performance are at the mercy of the weather. Blankets, cushions and rain macs are available though.
Ther repertoire is constantly changing (i suspect to reflect the schools curriculum), and other playwrights are available occasionally.
Food and drinks are available.
Don't forget to exit through the gift shop.

We took an amazing tour of the building. If you have any affinity for Shakespeare, this is a must do when in London. The tour guide assigned to us was excellent. She put on a show of her own. Very knowledgeable and willing to share without making you feel diminished. The price was reasonable and we came away with a new perspective on how the plays were staged and produced. Do this.

First visit to the Globe and wow, what an impression. Academically I understood what Elizabethan theatre was, but to experience it was something else.
We saw a production of Othello. The immediacy of the space added that extra something. Despite the persistent rain the audience laughed and engaged with the actors in a way that doesn't normally happen in a regular theatre.

You cannot miss Big Ben when you come to London for a visit! Grateful to hear the fine chimes ringing during the 6 pm hour at sunset in March 2017 when we visited. Can't believe they are closing the clock tower for renovation (for 4 years!) a couple months back in Aug 2017...but glad we got to enjoy Big Ben's bells when we came earlier this year! :)

A beautiful theatre with the opportunity to watch original and Shakespeare plays throughout the summer - and in the Indoor Playhouse in the winter. Prices vary but are reasonable. Guided tours and exhibition tours are lovely too.

Having seen many a Shakespeare production over the years, this one was truly outstanding. Splendid costumes, fantastic musical accompaniment, and a truly Elizabethan atmosphere in this tremendous theatre.

Beware the wooden seats, however, and do get a seat cushion. Tall people should either prepare for a slightly uncomfortable time, or pick a seat at the aisle. If you want a drink at intermission, order in advance and have cash on you, since cards aren't accepted.

The tour was actually really nice. I believe it's a little too pricey for the ticket tour but it was really nice visiting this place. This is not the original place but a very close copy to the actual thing. And I believe it is really worth it for people that do love theatre .

The theater is a modern reconstruction, inaugurated in 1999, of the original Shakespearian one. The cost to visit it is high, since it is not original, then if you get a rude and uncaring guide is absolutely to be discarded ... spend your money elsewhere!

Honestly this is some of the best theatre that I've ever seen. If you have the health to do it, definitely get a standing seat because you get to be in all the action with actors weaving between audience members to get to where they are going and even pulling people up on stage. This was a seriously unforgettable night.
