I was taken to this place by someone who loves theater and doesn t care what my interests are. I know the historical significance of this place and my ignorance about theater doesn t discount the great value of the Globe. Please don t invite someone who has no interest in theater to this location. It is like sitting on a nails for three hours!

Without these around the area and you are in a hurry, at least take a look.
Now if you go with time it must be very good to try to see some of the representations that they usually offer.

History. Did I mention history? Perhaps not the original - it was torn down - but a very well done reproduction with a great deal of thought put into making it as close as possible. To see and feel how Shakespeare's plays would have been experienced is just amazing. And the tour guide, Kaja, was fabulous.

Enjoyed a performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor. We took advantage of the 5 pound Standing Room tickets. The performance was entertaining and the theatre enjoyable.
Beware: 2.5 hours of standing (especially after a day of touring) is difficult on the back and feet. I believe seats were priced from about 20 pounds on up.

Quintessential theatre experience. Although you can book tours, the best way to experience the globe is to attend a performance. However, the shows sell out quickly best to book the tickets 3-4 month in advance.

Loved it! The theatre is amazing and gives you a real sense of what a theatre show would be like in Tudor times. Beautiful building. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. We watch A Midsummers night dream. Which was fantastic. Can't wait to go again.

On thursday evening, I attended a play (much ado about nothing)that was just great! One of my best theatre experience in my life! The comedy was very funny, and the actors were brilliant.
The building is the reproduction of the old globe, and you can imagine yourself at the Elizabethan time.

This is one of my favourite places in London. It's feels like you have stepped back in time, they've created a great atmosphere where you can really picture what it would have been like in Elizabethan times. I highly recommend at least watching one show in the 'pit' - you feel more engaged with the actors, almost part of the action in some shows! They have cushions for hire if you are in seats (a good idea as the wooden seats get a bit....err...uncomfortable if sat for more than an hr). A lot of the nearby restaurants have theatre deals and you can bring in your own food (*not verified, we did and no-one told us off).

Highly recommend any play at the globe! Simply amazing! If you have a bad back or not as young as you used to be, get a seat in the back row. It's bench seating, but the back rows are against a wall and have good views. They also have seating in the balcony with proper back support. If you come to London, and the outdoor theater is closed for the season, see a play in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse next to the box office.

I had the most wonderful time here in the upper seated section. I have never actually watched a show here before and saw taming of the shrew. I would warn anyone who's tall that the front row of the seated section has very little leg room so be prepared to sit at an angle!

Always a pleasure to come here. Beautiful venue, fantastic bar and restaurants. And of course the world class performances. My advice would be to plan your visit to take full advantage of the whole experience, book a meal, have a drink at the bar or cafe, see a show.

a place out of time, if you have the chance to see a show the room is lit by candle ^^ By cons when they tell you that from the cheapest places standing at the top of the upper gallery the vision is incomplete it's true! We do not see half of the stage, so prefer the places below or those in front of the stage.

A piece of history in London. The Shakespeare's Globe is an open-air theater. We have attended a performance of the piece "The Two Noble Kinsmen". A beautiful spectacle with enthusiastic actors. Make sure you know what it is about because English is not so easy to understand.
