Really enjoyed the tour here. Really informative and interesting. Plus there's a neat little gift shop at the end.
Incredible theater re made from the medieval era where all Shakespeare's works were released, entirely in wood, oval design.
Interesting structure but I did not visit because it was paying. Once again...
Loved this place, even though we were thrown out for being too loud!
Great museum part with actual people to help you understand the context and importance of the theater. Good place to come with kids, plenty for them to see including costumes and live sword fights.
Went to see Twelfth Night and the show and actors were brilliant. Hilarious from start to finish. The cafe and shop prices were what you would expect from a place like that.
Restored open air theatre, great for an authentic Shakespeare experience with cheap standing space near the stage and benches under cover for slightly more.
The replica of the original theater is very successful. We wanted to attend a performance, but unfortunately the tickets were already sold out online. In any case inform and book early!
From the outside a nice sight. A visit to see the building from the outside is definitely given when you cross the London Bridge or Millennium Bridge.
Very little to do as a tourist without seeing a play
I was disappointed that The Globe is not, despite its name, shaped like an oblate spheroid. Despite that, and the fact I only understood half of the Shake-speak within A Comedy of Errors, I had a superlative time, sirrah.
Fantastic performances and really atmospheric venue.
The theatre venue is very special and nice. Hamlet, though, was a bit disappointing. The enforced super-progressive gender re-assignment of the roles was just weird and distracting. It could be an idea to also shorten the play a bit. It is definitely recommended to lend pillows and chairs as the sitting is quite uncomfortable, though very authentic and atmospheric. The cash only policy at the food/drinks stands was quite surprising given the fact that the theatre is in the heart of London.
great performance! interesting day out for families
A must see! If you can't get tickets to see a performance then you must tour the museum
Excellent drama workshop and children's literature weekend festival!
When I was there I saw a beautiful presentation by Van Gogh
We saw 'Much Ado About Nothing' at the Globe. It was outstanding .We've done the tour in the past and found it very informative. Watching a live show was icing on the cake. Don't miss the opportunity if you are in London during the Summer.
Finally made it here last summer to see 'Measure for Measure', which I had hardly heard of before. Brilliant seat on the top balcony, so missed mingling with the cast in the pit, although standing there for an hour-plus at a time didn't appeal.
This place rocks my world! You can see how Shakespeare helped make London the cultural centre of the world
Excellent production. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend cushion hire.
Amazing place. Performances there are always of the highest order. Go!
Saw Twelfth night today with my wife. Had a great experience up at the top front tier. Loved the building. Loved the performance.
Maybe I'm being tight... I don't know. But go... it's fun. Will go again.
I don't remember the tour guide's name, but he was Welsh and very sarcastic...
And made the tour a lot of fun. He seemed to relish explaining the particulars of Titus Andronicus to us, which is always a good time.
Visit enjoyable Exhibition with audioguide in your language and visit in English.
Wonderful ..... everyone should watch a performance there ... best in summer
The best thing about this place is that they haven't changed the theatre and it really takes you back in time.
An authentic replica of the Globe Thearer as it would have been during the time of Shakespeare. (With a few additions, a little lighting and safety features like sprinklers.) Overall it was a fun experience with a really cool tour. The groups were guided by a knowledgeable individual with the ability to field and appropriately answer questions. It was a good and enlightening 1.5 hours.
A must see experience. Don't waste your money on the expensive seats if you can stand for more than 3 hours. Being in with the plebs is what it's all about.
Amazing performance, lovely staff both in and off stage, and an incredibly well thought out performance (Midsummer Nights Dream). I cannot speak the positives of this theatre enough, and you get to watch Shakespeare in the same place Shakespeare was shown originally. What more could you want?
Very suggestive! Drive completely in English. Obviously you need to know that this is a reconstruction, since the original was burned.
Really neat re-creation of the original! We did a guided tour and got the full experience of the Globe.
The tour ran for about an hour, we got to see a lot of really interesting details and learn all about the huge effort to recreate the environment of the original.
On our next trip to London, we will definitely plan to see a show here as well! It might not be as rowdy as the original, but I'm sure it would be a great experience to see a show nonetheless!
Only interesting for those who understand English very well otherwise it is not recommended.
The Study day was as interesting as the building itself. Great all round.
Also known as The Globe. Go see a play here. It's excellent. Food at intermission in the courtyard is cash only, card accepted indoors. No umbrellas allowed for standing tickets, so if there's rain, but a seated ticket.
It can certainly be of some interest but the approach is decidedly commercial oriented to the exploitation of tourists ...
Amazing building, modern twist to a classic building. Great history and a must visit
This place needs no description. I have been their many times during my stay in England. If love plays, do see a show.
Very cool look. Gotta give the actors a lot of respect in performing in harsh elements and with air noise coming in. Made me feel like I was back in Shakespeare's day watching the play
It's of course a great tourist attraction but the last time I went the show was more like a panto. It was a comedy but things can be taken to far.
In love with the theater. We had a brilliant guide who connected the visit with Shakespeare's work and still provided good points to connect the theater space with the art scene now and what is of relevance today. Somewhere to go for any fan of theater and Shakespeare.
I am in love with the theater. Our guide was amazing, he quoted Shakespeare's work continuously (reciting and acting better than I have seen some actors on stage), opens a small window to Shakespeare's way of writing and how to write works for the Globe, and He knew how to establish links with current issues and demonstrate the relevance of this theater space today. Definitely worth a visit if you are a fan of the theater or Shakespeare. (Notice: the tours are only in English, although they have information sheets about the theater)
did not meet Shakespeare, does he not care about his fans. very disjointedness .
Great performances. The standing tickets are cheap, but you might be cold or rained on. Decided to go for the more expensive seats. Good view.
I've only seen it from the outside but it looks great
Great place for a drink and a chat with friends. Nice atmosphere
Beautiful theater, kept in excellent condition. Interesting architecture, it offers a beautiful exhibition on Shakespeare's and the world of theater. Possibility of guided tours with English speaking guide.
Go there with a blanket and enjoy the show, a great way to enjoy great performances
Worth visiting famous theatre, celebrating the best of Shakespeare
Look forward to the tour. Very informed and passionate staff.
Wonderful drama workshop for my ks4 students. Professional, friendly staff who never tire of answering questions. My students really got a lot from the visit and so did teachers, we have been given very good ideas to modify and adapt back at school.
I will be goimg again in the future.
Great to see this venue to show theatre in shakespeare's time. None of the shows in the westend appealed so we did a paid tour which was expensive but inspiring and looked at the exhibition before deciding to see King Lear at 7.30. It is a play we did not know much about so we went with fresh eyes and enjoyed it. Certainly it is the best way to experience shakespeare. I found the website hard to navigate and the different entrances confusing, it is expensive as we elected to sit with rented cushions but it all worked out in the end.
Soooo cool. Didn't get to see a show as we were off season. But the tour was awesome
A theater which reproduced Shakespearean theater in the construction method at that time
Although it seems that there is not much time actually playing, there are guided tours (only in English, there is one explanation of Japanese) as usual, so you can explain the situation of the theater at the time and the structure of the theater, so Shakespeare If you are interested in, please recommend only guide tour
Drama workshop with Adam Coleman was excellent. Watching rehearsals for 'Much Ado About nothing' what a top day xx
Faithful reconstruction of the famous Shakespeare theater. Outside there are several stands with beautiful references to the masterpieces of the English author. Great selection of plays.
