Fascinating place that gives the opportunity to live and breathe live the atmosphere of the theater during Shakespeare's time. It is the opportunity to relive a beautiful piece of history and culture that is a heritage of humanity. Good interpreters and modern directors rework and propose the universal Shakespearean message.

Fantastic atmosphere. I'm not a Shakespeare type of a guy but seeing The Merchant of Venice here really brought it to life. The interplay with the 'groundlings'' really gives you an idea of how the plays must have been seen in Shakespeare's day.
Seats are expensive, especially when they then offer to sell you a cushion, blanket or chair back but you can get standing tickets for a fiver.
Great architecture too.

Truly experience how life was like as a peasant in London during the 1600s. It is different and you realise the genius of Shakespeare as he needed to marry moments of tragedy and comedy to entertain the crowd.

Good venue, authentic layout. Unfortunately, most seats have limited view spoiling the experience. Could compensate with screens with extra projections. Authenticity of layout should not take over lack of theatre visual experience, which I'm afraid I lost out on

We did not go inside due to time constraints but it must be a nice visit! The fact that it is Shakespeare's theater makes it fascinating. From the outside it is certainly special in terms of form and architecture!

Classical recreations of Shakespearean plays in a classical recreation of the Shakespearean okay house, with a dose of modern humour. Expensive snacks and if getting standing tickets watch out for neck and back strain.

We can never experience exactly what it was like to attend a theatre performance in Shakespeare's time, but the Globe is probably the closest we can get. There's always a great atmosphere in the crowd, especially standing in the yard, and the performances are top class.

I really enjoyed the guided tour, the guide was able to involve us and explained in detail the history of the Globe. The reconstruction is very detailed. I highly recommend the visit and I would be very curious in the future to see even a show.

Amazing! Great fun and it had its own twist despite using the original script! Such great fun! I loved all the costumes and it was such a great comedy! A midsummer night's dream was such a great thing to watch despite the fact that I had to stand up for 2 and a 1/2 hour! Hope u enjoy it as much as I have

Brilliant choices everytime! I've gone to see three different Shakespeare productions and everyone leaves me in awe of the breath of fresh air the company has given the timeless classics...proving to me that most people just haven't been taught properly Shakespeare's worth and genius. Every trip to London must include an afternoon production.

A jump into the past. For every theater lover it is a must to visit it. Perfect wooden replica of the Elizabethan theater of Shakespeare's works. It is a semi-open theater that includes the stage and an open orchestra More

I only got to post one photo as this is all in got to see. Although it said tours between opening times when I was there round 1:30 I was told no tours til 5pm and the only other way I could get in was to see a show. On a tight schedule of seeing London neither option was something I could do. Really disappointed I didn t get a chance to see it on the inside.

This place was full! If you like Shakespeare it's worth going to. Tickets are not really readily available on the day of. We got standing-room-only tickets before the show but it's really hard to stand for 2 hours. We didn't stay for the whole show. A lot of the people who were standing did leave part way through the show. The acting seem to be pretty good though. If you like Shakespeare I'd recommend this.

Very faithful reconstruction of the theater in which Shakespeare's works were staged. Informing us about the times we managed to do the guided tour in English with a girl who showed us very well the structure of the theater, the differences compared to that of 'Shakespeariana, and told us some anecdotes that made us understand what it meant recite or attend a theatrical opera then and what it means now. The theater is outdoors, so in the season when it is not raining and it is not too cold it is possible to watch the shows, while there is another indoor facility, a little smaller that allows you to watch shows in the rest of the year. However, it is advisable to consult the theater website for up-to-date information.

Wonderful modern interpretations of Shakespeares work in an intermate reconstructed theatre often with audience participation. Pay the extra for the theatre tour and a cushion if you are watching a play. The refreshments and gift shop all support the theatre. Always a great experience.

This is a reconstruction of the original Globe, built in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his works.
I really enjoyed the guided tour, which allows us to get to know the history of this space and the reality of the time, not only with regard to theater, but also to London customs and life.
It is not a must, but it is worth it, especially for those who enjoy history, culture and theater. I could not, but whoever has more time, can watch a play.

Neat.

Replica of Shakespeare's original theater a few meters away. It's all wood, very interesting to know what a theater was like in the early days. It is well worth knowing near and on the way to London's main attractions.

Really interesting museum and the tour was wonderful. Our tour guide was very informative and clearly cared greatly for the globe. Looking forward to going and seeing a show some time. Fantastic!

Saw Taming of the Shrew, lovely venue and great cast. If you have the chance, come to see Shakespeare as it would have been. You'll be surprised by how much you understand of the language when it is well-acted.

I just did a tour there, I wish I had actually been able to see a play, but the tour was also nice. Im not sure how to arrange a tour I was there with my study abroad class so they arranged it all. Also something really cool is I got to see one of my male classmates dressed up like a girl. Quite fun to see, and the people doing it who worked there were nice and fun. Im also not sure how to arrange that either, they might doing every couple of hours im not sure.
