Travel back in time and discover our ancestors were not that different from us; telling a story well draws a crowd...
Top production and location, staff generally helpful (although occasionally over-keen on adherence to the rules for those in the yard). Awesome value for money. A must do at least once for Londoners and visitors alike, and for me a must do more often as me and the family loved it.
Although it is a reconstruction of the reconstruction, it does not lose the magic and you manage to travel to the time of the Elizabethan theater ... Imagine how the public was accommodated, and even how it smelled, since the guided tours are very explanatory. Beautiful place, a time machine.
Thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour today. Although the group was a fair size, the headsets made the commentary easy to hear. Our guide, Jane, was particularly good and made the whole tour entertaining as well as informative. Even though I'm not as much of a Shakespeare fan as my wife, I found it very interesting. Highly recommend it.
Amazing place. Went to see A Winter's Tale. If you haven't seen it yet. You should check it out!
Wonderful place to visit. Do the backstage tours and visit the museum. Go for the grounding tickets - very cheap and if you get in the queue early on you can lean on the stage and be inches away from the actors. Some of the best productions in town and highly interactive with the audience. Closest thing to attending Elizabethan theatre you will ever experience. The restaurant and pub attached are also pretty good. Highly recommended.
An unmissable experience. I think that noboby should die before seeing a Shakespeare's performance there. Exquisite, superb quality, amazing actors and direction. By the way, I saw Othello
An unforgettable experience watching Henry 5th. The actors engage the crowd throughout the play and you feel involved and part of the show yourself. Definitely recommend taking something to sit as the seats are just wooden. Overall a fantastic show and very well organised.
Saw Richard OOO in all candlelight theatre. Awesome!
Absolutely fascinating bit hard on your Cocyx without seat cushions which should have been offered free. Not accessible for wheel chair users.
Saw the new play 'Emelia' and quietly blown away. Definitely worth the visit. See a play if you can
Wonderful place to experience Shakespeare's works in an authentic atmosphere.
The Globe's a very interesting a stunning place for the theatre fans from all over the world.. you can take a guided tour in and watch marvelous plays there. But keep it in mind if you want to buy tickets you should do it beforehand, may be 2 or 3 months. And after the play or the tour to have some drink or eat in Tas Restaurant is the best choice which is opposite the main entrance.
Lovely building didn't get the chance to o go in unfortunately
For only 5 pounds you can see a representation, yes, only in summer because it is discovered and standing, although drinking is allowed and the venue reproduces the theaters of the time.
Plays are not exactly kid friendly and if your not really into Shakespeare or olde english, probably not a great pick. That said, it is interesting to see theater in this manner.
I took a tour and it was really good. Learnt a lot about the building.
It's better than TV, and you can even call it a cultural experience, so you don't sound like a total tool when you return home with a suitcase full of touristy garbage. Rent a cushion because the seats are hard. There's also no roof, so bring a rain jacket, because London.
Wonderful experience for all ages, the only downside was the use of heavy duty speakers playing music which sort of took the effect away.
Great play. Makes you realize why we still all have to read these plays 500 years later.
One of my favourite Sunday lunch places in London. Lovely views of Thames, great Sunday roast and set menu options and friendly service .
The perfect place in the world for Shakespeare's lovers! It was on my bucket list, for sure!
A Very Good Replica Of The Original One. Didn t Go Inside But It Looks A Very interesting Place To Visit Especially If You Like Shakespearean Literature!
Watched Twelfth Night, and what a show it was. If you've got the legs to stand, do it. It's an immersive experience, theatre like it used to be with a modern slant.
Great experience. Entry price should be a little less.
of course, pure! no question, it is part of it and is always well attended
loved.it!! I was like going back in time but with good smells hehe, I really enjoyed how well the recreation is made and how workers make you feel like you really are back then
Callum was an excellent tour guide! Also saw the Tempest, it was unforgettable.
What's not to love! history , Shakespeare and Southbank
Magnifique
Guide super chaleur et super acteur
The historic William Shakespeare Theater rebuilt with fidelity. It is very worth to do the tour, but keep an eye on the time, as it closes at 17h. There are always two plays being staged each day, check the schedule and have fun.
Guided tour very well, we come across actors in full repetition !!!
Romeo and Juliet - performance was sensual and incredibly moving. Staff at the theatre are amazing....particularly Joel the first aider who was attentive when my daughter fainted.
Great stage! For the price you pay is an absolute bargain even if you aren't a fan of the bard's work it's worth visiting to soak up the atmosphere of tudor England!
We walked outside in the evening as the venue was already closed. They do performances however, which we're going to attend on our next visit to London.
Amazing historical place to touch the atmosphere of Shakespeare s time. I also liked the guides who tell lots of interesting facts of the place.
Just extraordinary theater with a superb exhibition!
brilliant show, i recommend payung extra for seating like us, because when we went there it was pouring down and the people standing were soaked through
Interesting its history, only in English the guided tour.
We took the tour, and I m so very glad! Mark, our tour guide was a deep and passionate story teller, who recanted tales of Shakespeare s life and works, the origins of the original Globe and how this recreation came to be. The tour spaces were pretty limited - we got to sit up in the balcony, down in the gallery, then we stood up at the stage while our guide went on about all things Shakespeare. He even wove in references from several of Shakespeare s plays into the tour at various times. Really quite fun! The tour itself is like a play!
Expensive and is a reproduction. Seeing it from outside for me has been enough
A truly magical theatre with a unique atmosphere. Very special
This was brilliant but you have to explore it with a tour guide. Our guide was a director who brought the Globe to life, quoting Shakespeare and explaining the setting of the times. Highly recommended.
i went there 3 years old i liked every moment of it
Tours start at 9.30, not 9. Still worzh coming at 9 to get the audio guide and walk through the show room
Love this place...atmosphere always great whatever the weather
Very rewarding and filled with history with a very informative guided tour but only in English. Then you continue on the museum of the globe also very informative. The guides are nice and know how to tell us the story of this theater still active today.
Very good. We took the guided tour. Our tour guide was funny and interesting
Faithful reconstruction of the theater where William Shakespeare represented his splendid masterpieces. It is therefore an important appointment for theater enthusiasts because it allows you to fully grasp the particular atmosphere that characterized the staging of the masterpieces of the famous playwright. divided into groups and accompanied by guides who tell the story of the Globe strictly in English and without the possibility of obtaining audio guides in your preferred language.
The fact itself that you can feel like a London citizen of 17th century, standing in a crowd with a pint of beer in your hand and watch an incredible show is worth a lot!
Really fun place to look around. 5 pounds to walk around and get to watch a play.
I came to the Globe Theatre on a visit down to London to see Macbeth, I was blown away by the incredible acting that we viewed. I enjoyed the experience hugely and would encourage anyone to visit the Globe Theatre.
Professional and very kind staff. Enchanting place and authentic recostraction of the building
Free access to a great coffee bar and for London very reasonable prices.
I was left with a lot of desire to enter it looks very good. The place where it is located is impressive. You must walk there but it is worth it because the walk is beautiful ... there is a way to get there by bus I think, which leaves you relatively close but from my experience it is not worth it.
What a wonder for any theatre or literature enthusiast. An absolute must for London visitors. Just been to see Two Noble Kinsmen - the multi-talented Fran Mills was awesome!
An iconic replica of the Globe has lots to offer from mesmerising long performances to guided tours around the site.
