Went on a Saturday and it wasn't too mobbed. I enjoyed the variety of rides available, for all ages.
FAMILY HAD AN AWESOME TIME. ESPECIALLY MY LIL' MAN ON THE TRAIN.
No need for a two day pass. Get there early and ride all he main attractions like the master blaster or the rapid waters. My 6 year old daughter is only 44 inches tall and she was able get on every ride!!!! By far the best water park I ve been to! Take water shoes, go on a weekday, and buy the souvsome souvenir cup with free refills!!!
At first I rated a 4-star however I'm changing it to a one star because I went there today the staff was very rude and there was lack of parking and lack of knowledge on the staffs part. I got season passes which cost $250 and I had to park far away. I was also told that they did not have any ice and when I asked to speak to a manager however some ice appeared in the cup which the cup did cost $12.99 plus tax which is really expensive for a drink in the first place but you're not even going to provide ice ,really. I also saw a gentleman in front of me who gave one of the staff $50 and the staff tried cheated him out of his change and the customer had to point that out to him the same gentleman that checked that guy out who tried to chump change him was also giving me dirty looks. Also the wait in the line for food and drinks is a significant amount of time which should not be because the food is overpriced anyways they have several different staff members I shouldn't have to wait 20-30 minutes in line to get a surveillance cup.
Loved it. Rooms were ok. Drunks fighting outside at night. Called security and it stopped. Water park is awesome
Coming from Florida who knew a waterpark could be affordable! The rides are great, food is reasonable, parking is free and you can bring your own food! Tubes are free and you can buy water shoes as cheap as 15 dollars!
Had a blast ,floating down river lost a couple items along riverbut all in all well worth it
If you visit central Texas in the summer, you have to plan a day here. It is so awesome. Float in lazy rivers or take a wild ride. The have something for everyone. You can reach other parts of the park by floating on a big river. I want to put a tiny house inside the park and live there. We rented a cabana which was nice. The food was surprisingly decent. Next year I need a season pass.
It will never be as good as when I was a kid.... But being able to drink and ride rides as an adult awesome.
Spent full price on a ticket at the gate when the Park was half open. The larger part of the park was closed. Didnt even get a discount.
Great Park for he Family, I stayed for one night at the Resort and I believe that they can improve a lot.
I find it hard to believe that if I lose the resort wristband, I will have to pay the sum of $38 dollars, I am on vacation I shouldn't have to worry about my kids losing those things. There is also lots of kids at the resort maybe showing a movie or something will help keep the kids entertain.
Had an aswesome time here and i loved it! 4 stars because the drinks are pricey
Lines were super long and park food was very overpriced, thankfully they allow you to bring your own meals. Palapas and Cabanas are ALWAYS $200 PLUS in summer never less. There is some shaded areas but you must arrive early to save them. Staff was very kind and if you do opt to buy food protions are generous. Rides and kids areas are VERY well staffed and monitored. Common pool areas it's hit or miss. Overall I wouldn't go if you can only go one day there is too much to do and waits are long
Maybe try off season for a day or two for summer.
Best waterpark on the planet, recommend starting at the old park
Been going to this place since I was a child. This park is definitely the funnest just because of the relaxing rides. The water is freezing though.
There were way to many kids in the bar try to enjoy my drink and keep getting slashed
Took my gf for her first time and we had a blast! Tube rides, big slides and drinks, what more can I ask for? Will be coming back before the summer ends.
Always fun for the whole family, price is a little high though.
Wave pool side is the best I would have rated this a 5 but the castle side was disgusting it smelled awful there was moldy water right as you walked in by the slides. Other than that it was a great time! We enjoyed our visit!
Grandkids enjoyed three days we just spent at park. Long lines so we did not get to ride several things. Enjoyed heated pools with bar sitting. Would appreciate more ramps for those who struggle with stairs like me. Loved tubes with handles...hate black tubes NEED to go. Why in high season were parts of rides closed? Overpriced but staff were friendly.
Was disappointed at how rundown and obvious not maintained the parks are especially the original area. BADLY WORN carpets, broken animals congo, chipped cracked tiles, little to no paint upkeep in kids areas, bees were ridiculous, water levels in tube rides were low and we dragged bottom most of time even my little grandkids complained their bottom hurt, just not what expected from such high priced business. PUT SOME MONEY INTO UPKEEP!
You can never go wrong with this place on a super hot day
Water was perfect. Not too busy and you could tell it wasn't the end of the season because the staff was still in a good mood.
The best place to refresh and enjoy the day, great rides and to meet different people of over the Globe.
Over half the park was closed and it was still 80 dollars for my 5 year old and me. That would be fine if we were informed at the front gate of closures. They could usemore signage, we wandered around a lot looking for open activities. The concessions had long lines, high prices, and very sub par food. The pulled pork sandwich was very delicious and worth the price, though. The water was clean and the attendants of the attractions we're all pleasant.
This is an awesome place to go with the family on any hot day!! Great atmosphere, polite employees, great vendors, picnic tables for family use, bring cooler with food and beverages!! Tubing runs are awesome, ling great rides!! Such a great variety of things to do!! So relaxing yet filled with fun!! A must do for any family from babies to teens and adults!! Great fun, will definately do it again!! If 55+ years of age there are great discounted tickets at HEB's!! Definately recommended!!
Five star loves this good hanging out with family is the best place here
Walkway could be updated with green carpet. Kongo ride must be avoided due to low water and thus getting stuck in the middle, otherwise great park. Thx from Colorado.
Crazy fun and a truly unique experience. The river is beautiful and beyond refreshing. Bring snacks so you don't pay ridiculous prices for food.
Only spent a few hours there but enjoyed every bit staff was friendly and water was clean cool and refreshing. Can't wait to take the kids
This was our second time coming to this location. Driving 4 hours to only find out that the half the park was closed was more than a disappointment. We purchased our tickets online & on their calendar it failed to say that particular day was a Light Day. When I wanted to speak to someone about getting my tickets refunded for the light day passes they had a Security Officer handle the situation who could not provide me with the refund. It s just a bit disappointing to pay for a full park day & unfortunately not be able to enjoy it. We re closer to the Gavelston location, but fell in love with New Braunfels on our first visit. Thankfully this is Texas and there are plenty of other water parks to enjoy!
Amazing. Fun. Nice staff, and super cool rides and everything was perfect.
Awesome family fun! The only thing I would suggest if your coming from out of town for the weekend buy the fast pass and you'll for sure get on all the rides.
Hands down the best water park anywhere, and the original park is why. The newer non spring fed parts are fun just lack the cold water and foliage.
We came on a Tuesday and Wednesday in early August. I think our longest line was about an hour. Staff is super friendly. You could enjoy the parks for 1-3 days, depending on how much you want to see. I would definitely recommend to families with kids of all ages.
Great place water is nice!! It's free until memorial day it's a little crowded but still bearable!
This was our first time ever to a Schlitterbahn and our expectations were high. We are pretty seasoned water park veterans having visited several in Orlando and Wisconsin Dells. I can honestly say this Schlitt is not the best park in the world.
We arrived on a Friday morning at 10am, opening time, at the original park and quickly found a parking spot in one of the lots close to the gate. They had parking attendants directing you, so that was helpful. I have to assume they offer free parking because the lots are scattered kind of throughout the neighborhood area and trying to have them be staffed for paying would be extremely difficult. After these lots fill out I am not sure where you would park if you arrive later in the morning.
We already had our tickets in advance but still had to stop at the window to exchange them for a wrist band. They then direct you to a staff person to help put them on properly so you don't lose it. From there you get in line with your cooler and bags to have them searched. This entry process took about 15 minutes. It's nice they allow you to bring in your own food and drink, but man, some people are wheeling in huge coolers. Obviously you cannot bring in alcohol or glass containers. Of course, there were idiots that did that so that held up the line.
We finally entered the water park area and found the place packed already by 10:30am. We went up and down several flights of stairs making our way to the main area where there were some tables and the locker areas. The line to get a locker had already grown to about 25 people and guessing it would have taken close to a half hour to get one. So we decided to leave this park and headed to the new section via the tram. Let me say also that this original water park is old, and it shows. The place is worn and just looks old and original from the late 70's/early 80's.
So we waited in line for a tram and went to the new park. Upon arrival we once again had to have our bags and cooler searched, although the line was shorter there. We also were able to get a locker without a wait. We put our valuables into a locker and then put our pool bag on a table. It's now about 11:15 and we are finally ready to head to the lazy river. I will have to say the lazy river is amazing. After awhile we decided to dry off and get some lunch. We came back to our table to find our pool bag had been stolen. So we had no towels or sunscreen now. I'm guessing that theft cost us about $100 between what was in the bag and now having to buy overpriced sunscreen there. Fortunately our phones, wallets, and keys were locked up in a locker. The lockers are small so you will only be able to put a small bag in with a few items. Locker cost was around $12 but worth it since theft seems to be prevalent there. When I filed a report at the customer relations desk, the guy in front of my also had a bag stolen. Of course I never heard back anything as follow up.
Overall we had a good time on the lazy rivers and wave pool. They were crowded but we found our place. The slide lines were long and only went on one. The place needs more help in the area of cleanliness. We never once say anyone sweeping or cleaning anything. The trams running between the old and new parks run often and had no issues with that. A little extra level of security is also needed. Seems like things getting stolen there often, as I have seen in some of the other reviews.
If we are ever in this area of Texas again, we would not come back to this one and would instead drive a bit further to Aquatica in San Antonio.
Awesome huge waterpark. Can be long lines for most popular rides, but that's expected for any great amusement park. Wonderful long floats.
The New Braunfels location is always a wonderful time. The rides are a ton of fun and it is a wonderful place for our family vacation.
I've been to water parks all over the country. This is a one of a one of a kind experience, build into beautiful Texas hillcountry. You won't regret taking your family here for the weekend.
One of the greatest water parks out there great staff awesome rides love the fact that we can bring in your coolers very family-oriented would definitely recommend it and we will be back
After 25 years between visits....still the best water park I've ever been to. You can't beat the location...on a bluff, spring fed water, and ancient oaks and pecans shading the park...great all-American kids working for the summer. The only nit-pick is they could use faster food service....but on the other hand you can bring a cooler full of food and drinks for free...unbelievable value in this day in age!
Excellent to go with the family, you can bring your own food, and they have very good deals !!
The water there is so refreshing and cold, he workers are nice and the food is really good.
This water park is so much fun, i love just chilling here
Fun place, especially for families.
My kids loved playing in water and going on the rides. Staff was very nice and friendly.
Wait times were what you would expect for a Saturday in July.
Only complaint is about the souvenir cups with the free refills. We purchased two of them for our kids, however the wait times to get a refill were ridiculous. We ended up not using them because we didn't want to wait in line for almost 30 minutes every time just to get a cup refilled. Waste of money unfortunately.
Super fun. Long lines for the slides even on a weekday. Too long for a one day visit but there's LOTS of fantastic other fun stuff!
We love this place that every time we go. I have been with large groups small and it is always a treat there are so many different parts that you can always find a place not too busy
Always a blast but definitely noticed the holiday crowd. Wish they would define the lines better on the rides and the trams as the current set up allows for folks to cut in easily.
Love this park. We have been there twice and stayed at the Schlitterbahn resort both times. I love that you can take your food and drinks. The park lazy rivers a little old school, but still fun.
Very happy here!!!!! Lots of fun slides, pools, etc., staff very helpful when you need them, most lines are really fast, and if you buy food, you won't regret purchasing most foods in my opinion. Great place to be!!!!!!!
What's not to like this place is awesome! So much to do! Worth the money. You can park for free and bring a cooler but come early if you do plan to bring a cooler. The picnic tables get taken quickly. There are tube rides, body slides, wave pools, a surf area, a few kids areas, a few huge hot tub areas that have bars. Wear water shoes because your feet will hurt after awhile from all the walking.
This is a real blast. You'll love it. The east part is more with slides and the west part is with natural river water,so a little bit colder. But it's absolutely great. 1 star minus,bc of the price. It's really expensive. But the fun is worth it.
Just came by on a Saturday near the end of the 2019 season. I came with a total of 8 people and because all the parking lots were full when we arrived, we decided to purchase a cabana since it includes preferred parking (which is $25 when purchased separately). We arrived at noon and they only had one cashier at the front ticket area. The line was building up and the cashier was rushing us as we were trying to make the purchase and get some clarification on what's included with the cabana rental. The cabana is supposed to include the preferred parking, a locker, electric outlet, ceiling fan and wait staff. Well we rent the cabana at the older side of the park and it looked more like the neglected side. These are not the cabanas that they advertise with the t.v and bbq pit, I'm assuming these are on the newer side.
So we park in preferred parking which is across the main entrance and then we walk inside to the cabana. The entire time that we hung out at the cabana, we never saw any waitstaff. Initially we were confused because we were waiting on someone to arrive to give us a locker key. We wait for 15 minutes and then head back to the main entrance and wait in line again because there's still only one cashier and a long line and then the same guy gives us the key to the locker. So now it's been about 45 minutes when we finally get back to the cabana with the locker key and still not one employee has been seen in or around the cabana area. So much for having "wait staff". The ceiling fan was also not operating properly and we did not want to go back and wait in the line again just to tell them that so we just hung around there with a slow moving fan during a hot Texas day!
Other then the cabana making us feel like we were ripped off, we still had a decent time at the park. A few of the lazy river rides were out of tubes and we had to wait for people to get out which was a bummer, but the lines to the slides were short. We have season passes so we are bound to be back. But before we left during this visit, we asked to speak with a manager to try to get some future credit back due to the issues with the cabana and we were given a 1-800 number to call and leave our feedback on a survey, so much for having any customer service there!
Over priced and lines are way too long g to do much. Save your money and swim at the lake for a tenth the cost.
Free parking, bring in own food and drinks. Not that busy during the week. Love love love it!
Excellent place to take the family to spend the day in the cool water beautiful park overpriced products
Great place to spend the day with the family. Spent 30 minites in line for a ride and got out to buy the blast pass. $36.99 to check in for a ride and be able to go about the park and float around or eat until your watch tells you its your turn. Highly suggesting this. Without it you will maybe ride 3-4 rides all day.
I love this place. The rides are amazing even though the water is freezing, both sides of the park offer a different experience, there's the slow relaxing side and the quick adrenaline rush. Either way there's something for everyone. And the room rentals for the resort are bad either you should definitely give them a call if you want to go for a couple of days.
Had a gantastic time. But food counters desperately need improvement. Took almost. N hour to get a simple hamburger. Otherwise its a great place to go to.
My first time there was awesome. The heated pools are a bit much in 100 degree weather but I guess it's supposed to make you thirstier at the bar? Anyway, lots of fun
Huge park with many rides, the water is clean and one can barely notice the chlorine in the water, but I'm going to have to give it a 4 star because on July 6th the showers didn't have warm water and my whole family had to rinse with cold water.
