Schlitterbahn Waterparks & Resorts Review

Place is okay 2 go once..not worth the money 4 multiple trips unless u buy season pass because u Kno 4 certain u r going 2 go back @ least 3 times..look 4 discount days or Groupon..they also do Military wk no cost admission 4 military around Aug 27th (National Hero's Day). Check diff forums 2 c wat is best attack plan 2 get most out of a day @ the park so u wont b stuck n line the whole day.

Been coming to this park since i was a kid brings back memories and love this park. Only problem i have is they are too pricy with their food inside

We stayed in room 706, the most expensive room on the property located in the Treehouse section, from 8/7/2016 to 8/9/2016. Here were the problems:

Maintenance Issues:
1. The door to one of the guest bedrooms required pushing as hard as you could to open due to the floor being warped so much that it scraped hard against the bottom of the door. We called and maintenance came out shortly and screwed in screws to try and flatten the floor but it did not make any difference.
2. A similar problem with the door going into the master bath that was scraping on the tile, although it was not as hard to open.
3. The wood floor between the two guest rooms was warped so badly it was a hazard. If barefooted, one could have easily busted open their foot while walking. When they came and addressed the floor in #1 they put tape over it.
4. The master bedroom smoke alarm battery died at 3:00 am the evening of 8/7. The maintenance man arrived at 4:45 he did not bring a high enough latter to replace the battery. At 10:00 am it got replaced.
5. The fans in all three bedrooms are controlled by a single wireless controller. Therefore, any time someone wanted to adjust their fan or turn a light on or off, it messed with the other fans. One of the rooms fans would not come on unless the light was on and would only blow the hot air down as it was still set for winter operation. Maintenance came to fix it but could not switch the direction of the fan and took the bulbs out and brought us two box fans to keep the room cool.
6. The next night the master bedroom fan had the same problem of the light being on and the fan turning but you could not have the fan on and the light off so we slept with no fan.
7. The shower head in the guest bath shot two hard streams of water and could not be adjusted to give a uniform spray.
8. The ceiling in the living room was so warped due to what appeared to be water damage, that the boards were at a severe angle to the ceiling. We were even concerned they may fall on us.
9. One of the drawers in the dressing chest in one of the guest bedrooms had a broken rail so the drawer fell out and could not be used. We just took it out and set it on the floor next to the chest.
10. The pedestal sink in the master bath was not attached so it moved when you leaned on it.

Design issues:
1. There was not enough furniture in the living area to accommodate our group of eight, even though the maximum stated room capacity was for even more guests.
2. While the coffee table and dining table were interesting wood pieces, they were extremely non-functional. They both had large areas where if something was put on it that could roll or slide, it would fall off the table because it was not even. There were only three chairs for the dining table, although admittedly it was not functional enough to support any more than that.

Don't waste your money on the "luxury" treehouse suites - at least not room 706.

Total waste of money! This place is filthy and not well maintained at all. Horrible buses that transport you from one park to the other. Awful experience, dirty place.

Love this place in the spring! It's become our annual tradition. Kids love the rides, there's plenty of variety, and levels of excitement.

The rides are wet and fun. I love the raging river water ride. The beer is sorta expensive, but at least they give you a full pint. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The handicap parking is right up front... unlike some places....

Great family place. Easy to move around. Lots of shaded areas to hide from the sun.

Always a blast. I still hurt from going non stop for 10 hours.

This place gets so packed in the summer but is still a great way to cool off. If lines aren't your thing there is always the wave pool which is a huge river-like loop with frequent large waves following one after another propelling you up and over. Try it with or without a tube for a line free bunch of fun. My youngest son will stay in the wave pool all day long without a single thought of the whole rest of the waterpark. Also going at the very beginning and very end of the season is a great way to avoid lines and try some of the rides that normally have abysmally long lines. However the entire park usually isnt open on these first and last days of business so try not to be to picky and just enjoy what's available.

Really fun place but WAY overpriced. Thankfully, you can go off-site to eat & drink or bring a cooler but can't BYOB. Locker rentals are ridiculously expensive, ticket prices hike every year & official Schlitterbahn photos are sketchy & overpriced. Other than that, employees are super fun & friendly & the rides are still super fun & clean. Overall, wonderful family experience! Just stop gouging us!!

The cons outweigh the pros. The lines take about 1-2 hours each. I went for a day and only got on 6 rides ( that being I went from opening time to closing time). There are two seperate parks and you have to take a shuttle to and from the parks. The only thing I sort of liked was the Rapids in the east park but they were slow and I got separated from family alot. The food(at least where I went) took about 45 minutes to get the food (it was only a burger and fries) and the burger was missing some of the stuff that was supposed to be in there. If you want to go to schlitterbahn go to the one in south padre island. Its alot better in quality and has shorter waiting lines.

Nice water park they need to expand A little too small for the amount of people that attend every day but all in all the family had fun.

Its alright in the original park , is fun just make sure y'all read the signs before you go up 6 stories to the master blaster ,(but black night ,and wolf pack their are weight limits ), I asked awhile back on a review about weight limit and no one said it had one or had scales , to weigh , people. I was able to ride the wolf pack with my husband , next day we went up on the master blaster standing in line for 30 min and it was hot and even though I had lost weight it still & so if your planning to ride with someone and your overweight you need to check the signs I failed to do so and got really embarrassed in front of a lot of people . and my husband wouldn't ride anything unless I could ride , the girl wasn't very nice even though I no she was doing her job and it was safety issue , it was my fault I didn't read the signs .I just assumed since I got to ride the wolf pack I was going to be able to ride the rest . just thought y'all should know but my over all review .still stand at 5 stars because it is a very fun park and I haven't been to the surfenberg yet .

Family tradition to visit and it never disappoints. If you can, try and stay in the resort. The extended hours make a HUGE difference.

Such a great park! They have one park/area that is more adventurous with challenging rides, and then another park that is calmer and more relaxing. Great for everyone in the family.

One of the larger water parks near San Antonio and surrounding areas. Great selection of slides for all ages. Also an incredible wave pool lazy river that takes tubing to an entirely new level.

Nice area to hang out. Tube, walk, explore. Enjoy the scenery.

Very fun place to swim! I had a blast. The water seems clean and it's a place to enjoy getting your tan on or swim around. But sometimes it gets very packed!

Very fun and enjoyable place, my kids love it!! Best to be there as soon as they open at 10am. Lines start to get super long around 11-12.

Pity place in Administration. Organization and staff because they do not know how to solve problems that are presented to us as it happened to us they canceled the cabin and gave us one of lower price although they had a free one like the one we had rented they did not want to give it to us so I do not have a good experience of This place I hope not to return say that it is the best in the world I can not say the same because my experience there was the worst and they brought us for 2 hours from one side to another pity, pity all very bad experience for me I do not recommend it because For me it was not a good place to spend a pleasant weekend with the family.

Terrible customer service. I ve been calling and emailing them for the last two weeks to get a cabana booked/ask about group rates and no one will call or write back. I ended up just picking one online but the lack of interest from the customer service shows me how they feel about their customers. I d think they d be more responsive considering how much money everything costs.

Water fountains to keep people cool

Very clean. Obviously an old place, but lots of updates. And . . . The covers on the beds get cleaned! Heated pool, fire pit til 9pm, s'mores stuff provided, mini fridge and microwave in our basic room, free parking, and super cheap in the off-season! My only complaint was that our remote didn't work.

I've been going to Sclitterbahn Waterpark since I was 7 years old! For over 32 years it is still the best waterpark I've ever been to and it's now a place where me and my children relax all summer long! There are three parks in 1 now here in New Braunfels (the original Sclitterbahn, Blastenhoff and Surfenburg.) There is a free shuttle to take you to each park. My favorite is still the old park because of all the river like tube rides that cut through through the park, but there are highlights worth experiencing at each of the parks (especially the Torrent River and The Falls). I recommend that you visit atleast once in your life and if you live within a 45mi radius of the park, I recommend the season pass (its higher than most season passes, but worth every penny!)

Fantastic water park with tons of tube slides. I would recommend going to the newer side (East) first because the lines for the three biggest slides are very slow-moving, but the rest of the slides are pretty quick to get onto

Took my wife and 7 year old twins and we had a blast. A couple of lines were a little long, but that is to be expected.

Great place for the family. Some things are a bit dated such as the animetronics. The new speed pass send a bit expensive for a jump in line. Overall satisfaction is great for a family outing to a waterpark.

small but fun, and the floors hurt your feet so badly

This place is awesome. The only negative is the price of entry is really expensive.

We had a very bad experience at the park today, we went there and more than half the park was closed. Additionally two other rides had issues which caused very long waiting times, we literally spent 1 hr for two rides.
After the 1st hour we decided to leave the park as this wasn't our plan for our vacation day, we explained everything to the front desk that acknowledged everything we said about the park today but yet they didn't refund our tickets or even part of it.
Highly not recommended

Took our 4 boys before school started back and we stayed at the park all day. Plenty to do and the lines move fast

Wave pool is great fun, lazy river , lots of walking, going from park to park by shuttle service, big lines for major rides, food available inside including alcohol and bar by the pool, can take your own food too, time goes by very fast, day ends in no time.
Cabana very expensive

Our school district brought 34 students who had done fundraising in order to have an end of school year trip. For the past 3 years both parks have been open in order for students to get their money's worth. Today, only 1 of the parks is open, and our kids had to ride the shuttle to the other park. Little bit heart breaker considering we drove a 5 1/2 hour drive on a bus to get here. And knowing the $$$ amount that was paid...How is half the park justified? Funny part was at 10:00 a.m. waiting for the lazy river to begin its route...And it never came felt like National Lampoon's Vacation. A very weird feeling when no one around and nothing opened. I know to run this water park students have to be out of school to life guard. No win situation, but a lot of money and planning went into this trip.

I am very disappointed in how this park is run. We took our family around July 2. We did expect crowds so that is okay. What I did not care for is my son and I climbed up a ton of stairs to get inline for the wolfpack slide. The line started at the top platform where you board the ride. We waited 45 mins and only moved in line 4 feet. The people running the ride were pulling way more people from the fast past line which caused the normal line to not move hardly at all. We are a family of 4 and spend 180.00 on tickets. We finally just walked back down. It should be one from each line. We should not have to spend even more money just to ride the top 3 slides. This is poorly managed. IF you are not ready to drop alot of extra money on fast past you will not do many things the day you are there. No Thanks I think that shows the GREED here.

I ve been here many times and can t wait to go back. I definitely want to make sure we get the fast pass next time! And utilizing the resort early access is a must. There is no better water park as far as style and amount! I recommend at least two full days! Might bring a cooler next time too

My FAVORITE place EVER!!!!!!!!! Nothing beats the heat like floating at schlitterbahn...

Great waterpark! Love that we are able to bring in our own food and drinks. No glass nor alcohol though.
