The staff in the main Restaurant. Only one slight mistake but Manager, JD quickly resolved the issue and checked with us to make sure we were totally satisfied. Service was above board

Loved our vacation here this summer! Especially Tony (the bellman) and Lacy (at the front desk) really made our visit special with their true hospitality and friendliness to our family. Tony should definitely be a concierge- he was so awesome and great with our kids, really made the difference to us in differentiating the hotel from a faceless/no interaction Airbnb.

Loved this place, its huge so it can get a little confusing. But they have exceptional service, specially the text concierge, you can always just text any help that you need, from housekeeping, to room key adding. It is absolutely awesome, not to mention the great fun places, shopping, bars and gorgeous beach. Absolutely loved it.

First I would like to say that it was a beautiful experience that we had. My husband and I were attending an event that Hilton was hosting, we were there for a total makeover of our marriage. After a long agonizing check-in due to the fact that nobody informed us there would be a $75.00 a night incidental hold on our bank card it took us almost 4 hours to finally get to where we were swiping a room key. Exhausted and ready to settle in we walked into a dirty room. Calling the front desk and informing them Hilton stood by their moto"Make it right" they graciously upgraded our basic room to a king size beach front view free of charge.
The event was amazing and Hilton hosted it with ease. On the day of checkout. We went to the remaining events and then proceeded to inform the front desk of departure. My husband was then informed that he was being charged the amount of the room from the $350.00 incidental hold that was suppose to be refunded to us. due to the fact that the gentleman working the desk was new and failed to follow the instruction of charging the room to the person that initially set us up with the event.
Then on November 12th, 2 days after the event we were charged for the room again.... Now we are in the negative on our bank account and not to mention have been arguing worse than we were before the event due to the situation.
Now here we are 7 days later with a $350.00 hold on our account with a $209.00 charge for a room that was paid for before we left and our relationship worse off than it was before the marriage retreat.

I'd taken my wife to many other beach resorts, but once we stayed at the Hilton Sandestin, she won't go anywhere else. We've gone at least once a year for the past ten years. Back in October! We've NEVER had a bad experience, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is always great from any of the restaurants or room service. The beautiful resort has plenty to offer. Wife does the spa, kids love the pools and beach. Get a beachfront balcony and you'll want to extend your stay another week!

I was in room 951 on the resort side. You have a partial view of the beach/ocean. The room was clean and spacious. The weekend price was $300+ a night. I just wish they had laundry on the resort side instead of having to walk to the other tower.

I've visited twice now, once off season and once over a holiday weekend. The staff has been fantastic and helpful. They always have been able to help me out with whatever I ask. The pool area is nice and relaxing, but fills up fast. The beach is amazing, but fills up even faster if you don't pay for one of the spots. The restaurants have a pretty good menu and the food is decent, but it has a premium price.

Large resort with extremely helpful staff. Wonderful pool area easy access to a beautiful beach. Great 1 stop vacation get away. One indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools with huge cabana with multiple restaurants and bar options. Perfect for family getaways or couple retreats. Ocean front rooms. Spacious suites with large balconies.

We arrived from a 9 hour trip to a dirty room. Let front desk know they gave us a dinner voucher for $100 while our room was being cleaned. We proceed to pay our bill and were informed it was for 2 entree s. We were not told that from the beginning. Called and spoke with manager and she basically said sorry. And we ended up paying the rest. Not a good start for the price you pay. Totally dissatisfied compared to 5 years ago when we first visited.

I think it is important to be honest and share both the good and the not so good. I ll start with the positive. First, let me say that we stayed at the Hilton last week during Spring break and the hotel was at 100% capacity. As far as the staff, everyone including the bell men, security, the front desk and housekeeping were all very friendly. The resort is well kept, clean and in a beautiful location. The sand is white as could be and free from seaweed and shells. The water from the gulf is beautiful and clear. The room was nice as we have 4 children and the bunk bed option was great for our family. Now for the frustrating parts of our stay. There are not nearly enough chairs by the pool. Every single chair was taken every day. We tried getting down early and saving chairs, but other guests would remove our towels and take our chairs. Also, the 2 outdoor pools are small for the size of the resort. I think the Hilton really needs to add another pool and more chairs to be more accommodating to the guests. As far as the beach, you have to pay for chairs on the beach and they are very expensive. It costs $39 a day for 2 chairs and an umbrella. I ve been to other resorts where chairs and an umbrella are included in the price of the room. We are a family of 6, so I bought 4 chairs at Publix for $40 and brought them down with us every day. As far as activities....I chose this hotel due to the bunk bed option in the room and due to it coming up in an internet search as one of the best resorts for children. The hotel has a kids club. I was hoping there would be activities by the pool and an activity room for the kids to use. There were absolutely no activities by the pool that I observed and the kids club is strictly a babysitting service. You can not use the activity room unless you pay for a day of babysitting. I really found this to be frustrating and not at all comprable to other resorts. There was one rainy morning and parents were lined up in front of the activity room, hoping to entertain their children, but we were all turned away. All in all, we had a nice vacation, but I m not so sure it would be my first choice for stay if we return to the area in the future.

We have visited this resort many times. Our family loves coming to this resort because it has great amenities.... beautiful beach, plenty of places to eat, nice large rooms and friendly staff. Our partial view room (151) this time wasn't great though. They were completely booked and we couldn't get a better location.

We liked the location a lot: right on the beach and close to other restaurants and stores. The high resort fee is annoying, but I understand that's the game so-called resorts play. Fitness room was satisfactory. Guest room was nice and well serviced. The dining area could be improved aesthetically. We didn't eat there much but what we had was good. Elevator lobbies on guest floors seem to have been forgotten by management. Talk about stark. Main complaint was being put in a room with door to adjoining room. Wasn't a problem until a family with young children moved in next door on our next to last day. Then the noise levels were unacceptable. Ask for a room without a door to an adjoining room.

Excellent service throughout my stay! The beach room view was well worth it, large balcony angled towards the beach. One thing worth noting is I d consider staying on the left side facing the beach or in the inner right to avoid the partial view a restaurants roof, had the room to the right of the presidential suite for reference. Nothing huge but worth mentioning. The private beach is directly behind the hotel and easy to get back and forth. Multiple places to eat and all were on par with the resort. Several other upscale amenities, activities and services are available consistent with other Hilton resorts. Another bonus is they provide shuttle service to Baytown Wharf which is close to the resort, among other places. If you re looking for a place to stay that is not as crowded as other beaches around with more than enough places available to dine at without going into Destin I d strongly recommend this place on your short list. Plan on visiting again.

Customer service is definitely a top priority here. Staff goes over and above. The rooms are well kept with the most magnificent view of the Gulf.
As someone who attends many meetings, the spaces are comfortable in temperature, acoustics are precise and the food is top notch

Long wait for check in. Car was left with windows down in the rain while paying for valet. Inside of my car was soked. Attempts to contact management for help were delayed due to how busy they were. While they were apologetic nothing was offered accept me not paying for the valet. As a diamond Hilton honors member this is the worst experience and service I have ever encountered. Zero value for the 2 double bed antiquated 500 dollar a night room.

Everything here was perfect except for customer service. I lost my id while traveling to the resort so i called to make sure my fiance would be able to check us in & they said that he could. So when we got there they acted as if we never called and basically pretty much tried to make it where we wouldnt be able to stay. Somehow we got it all worked out after about 20 mins of verifying everything. Then it took another 20 mins just for them to try to get us our keys. I left for 30 mins and came back and our keys still weren't ready. The trainee was the most friendly and helpful! Once we got to our rooms, we forgot about the headache we went through at the front desk because the view was amazing!! We love it there and we will be coming back soon! Hopefully we will get better customer
service next time!

Wrong planning on my part for Anniversary Celebration..it is as during Spring Break which I was not aware of ... Limited restaurants with choice of food...Desk clerks and staff were very unfriendly too

Loved this place. Very pretty and well kept grounds and the condos are so nice. Also, it's one of the only resort areas along that stretch of road with its own redlight and that's a huuuuge perk. If you've been to Destin before you know what I mean.

It's close enough to everything to get there fast, and the market/shops that are adjacent are really neat.

My only issue at all with the place is the actual Beach. It's very VERY overcrowded. The beach area is nice enough but not nearly enough space for the amount of people. We got there early (for my family, on vacation) at 9:30am to catch some sun and sand and we were already too late by about a bajillion people.

The people and chairs were already stacked 5 deep at that point. Even with a rented set of chairs with the umbrella, you're probably still going to have a great view of 2-3 other families stacked up in front of you instead of the water.

I know the crowding is really a problem with Destin more than this resort but it's something to consider.

The pool though was incredible.

I only say 3 stars because of the Beach itself. For the rest of the resort, it's an easy 5 stars. If the actual beach part of your beach trip isn't that important than you'd love it. Otherwise, I'd say try a resort in Ft Walton about 15 minutes down the road. Less crowded and (in my experience) a little cheaper vacation to be had.

The hotel is located close to the beach. The staff is friendly, the facility is neat, clean and family friendly as well. We've been there several times and we've never had a bad experience.

I went to the Hilton hotel in Destin over the week of the 4th of July and let me tell you it was the most amazing time I've ever had, everyone was nice there and had great customer service. When we got up to our room we had a beach front room so we were very excited and it was the cleanest and nicest room I've ever stayed in any hotel by far, my friends and I are looking forward to coming back again next year and so on because we love it there.

As a loyal hilton customer i booked this hotel putting good faith in the Hilton brand. In destin/sandestin/miramar beach area this is by far one of the best options out there if you can afford the price tag. This hotel is impressive, right on the beach with all amenities you could want including beach services from 9am-5pm like chairs/umbrellas ($39 fee plus reservation recommend ed) plus bar service. Pools are excellent even indoor pool with jacuzzi. All common spaces seem to be renovated and include restaurants, bars, sushi, gifts shops, ice cream parlor and coffee shops. Essentially if you wish to remain on resort you have everything there. Staff overall was friendly and helpful at front desk. Rooms are spectacular if you get ocean view junior suite. Only thing i was disappointed in during my 5 night stay was i attributed to lack of quality leadership of the hotel management team for not following up and enforcing nonsmoking rules. I fully enjoyed my vacation until 3rd night when more people checked in and decided to smoke cigars all day out on balcony and including marijuana at night which just filled my room up with unpleasant smell. I could not even enjoy being outside my room without smelling distasteful cigars/weed. After several complaints to staff the problem just persisted without resolution. This is the only negative of my entire stay at Hilton Sandestin Resort and I out that on leadership team for not enforcing rules and following up when issues occur. Aside from that i would still highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for great beach getaway. I give this hotel overall 4.0 out of 5.

The only reason to stay at this resort is a lady named Carla who works on the 5th floor of the spa building! Seriously, request her floor and she will take the best care of you. Hilton should make her the general manager of this resort. She has an enthusiasm and attention to detail and was the best part of our stay.

Although I wasn't staying at the Hotel this time, ...

Although I wasn't staying at the Hotel this time, I was making use of their Serenity Spa services. Owning a house within the Resort, I rode my golf cart over. This review is more about the reception I received at the front gate from Ralph.
I was rudely greeted with a snide "Did you not read the sign? No golf carts on property". I said no I hadn't and asked him to raise the gate arm so I could turn around. He refused, saying I had to turn right there into an oncoming car going against the direction of traffic. When I asked his name, he jumped out of the guard kiosk over to the passenger side of my cart holding his name tag out. "It's Ralph, I'll be sure to let the know you don't like me".
Just wow! This is no way to treat guests or foster relations between owners in the Resort with whom they try to encourage to use their services. I called the Hotel and was told by reception no managers were available. I explained what had happened, and the front desk lady said yes, this is not the first time we have received complaints regarding Ralph. You should speak to the Hotel Security Manager. Of course, they were not in that day. I stopped by Reception after my services and finally managed to speak to a guest relations Manager. I explained the situation and told him to review their footage.
If you are expecting outstanding service from "all" areas of the Hotel, you may be disappointed. Quite sad as first impressions are everything. I will be going elsewhere for services in the future.

Update: The response from the owner, allowing homeowner's carts through February is much appreciated. The spa therapists are excellent. I understand the pool deck was over run with non guests hence the policy change. Maybe wrist bands could be issued to guests for pool use. Just a thought.

One star only because no stars isn't an option. Sub-par performance from a location with unlimited potential. Check-in was easy and quick, with no recognition of Diamond status and no amenities offered. Arrived at the 10th floor room and were greeted by the overpowering smell of epoxy as several bathrooms were being refinished. We were assured that the work was complete that day and there would be no more issues with it. The crews and the smell returned the next day. Took the elevator to the lobby to speak with the desk agents and was promptly stuck in the elevator for about 20 minutes. Those two situations were cleared up, no more work on the 10th floor, just large exhaust fans and all balcony and room doors open 24/7. So now we stay in a wind tunnel. Placed the "breakfast in bed" card on the door at 2100 on our last night (place on door prior to 0200) and awoke to no breakfast, card still on the door. Absolutely the worst experience at any Hilton property. Likely the worst hotel experience I've had anywhere. Parting words from the desk agent were "Come back in the summer when we aren't renovating". Yeah, no thanks.
