Safe Haven Security Review

If I could use no stars in this review I would most certainly do it. The Sales Rep that came to my house starting showing up to hang out with my room mate. Then he told me that I could cancel anytime. I called into to cancel my account and I was told that I would incur a huge bill to cancel. I believed the sales rep when he stated that i could cancel anytime. I believe honesty should be how a company operates. Not the case here. I was promised a security camera. I still don't have one set up almost a year later. To make matters worse I was charged double last month. This is really ridiculous at this point. I will tell everyone I come across not to use this company. Most companies just dont make things right. They are too big to care with their sales reps actually say to customers.

Safe Haven Security's $100 gift card for new installation is a misguided scam. They "allow" the offer to expire with the hopes you do not come looking for the unclaimed reward. Their call center was even more disappointing with poor customer service, terrible attitudes, and a round-about method of fielding concerns.

If I didn't fear outrageous penalties for leaving the contract I would entrust the security of my home to another service.

***DO NOT GET THIS LYING PLACE*** The sales person Anthony, will tell you anything and everything to get the sale. When the tech comes out, they will not put anything up. It was a "Liability". After going to the home improvement store, and comparing with other security companies. I decided to cancel. The customer service person told me I missed the 3 business days to cancel and if I wanted to cancel I would have to pay 75% of the remaining contact. Since I just missed the 3rd business day, it was going to be $1984 to cancel. Anthony the Salesman said I could cancel at anything and get a FULL refund. ****STAY AWAY****

Professional. Designs an unique system specifically for your family, your environment and your needs.
Joe, the technician that installed the system in my home spent hours ensuring that it met my requests and that the equipment operated flawlessly.
He was extremely knowledgeable, had a background in law inforcement and truely cares about his customers.
I do not feel that I purchased a security system, I feel I became a member of the ADT family.

We just bought a new house and decided to get an alarm system. We chose ADT on the advice of friends and family. Anthony showed up on schedule and was very polite. We have a special needs nephew living with us and he was very patient with him as he is very curious. He went over all of our options and explained all of the equipment . He even made sure we understood how everything worked before he left . All in all we had a great experience and are happy with our system.

Benjamin Jukich did a wonderful job installing our new security system and thoroughly explaining everything. He was so patient and took a sufficient time setting up. Really appreciate his hardworking and friendliness.

A note to safe haven: The sales process should do a better job of estimating the cost. My initial estimate was for 30% of the actual work required to get the job done. I went from a $0 complimentary install to one coasting a couple thousand. Then I had to haggle. No fun.

But the installers were great.

Scott Brown is a very capable and professional technician. He took the time to explain the system in detail and help me set up the various website and app settings to be able to get the best use out of my system. He made every effort to make me feel that his priority was my family's safety, rather than trying to sell me products I couldn't afford. I recommend his services if you have the pleasure of working with him.

Joel Smith installed the ADT secure system in our home today. He was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. He did an outstanding job, and we would recommend him to those thinking of installing a home security system from ADT!

Ben was very detailed with his recommendations, caring, and patient with providing his service. Just give the man a raise. He was helpful in more ways than what is expected from just doing the job.

Greg conreux was amazing And so helpful Installing our new security system and for helping me find the right camera for the front of my porch. He answered all my questions. And helped me walk through everything on how to work it.

I bought a new house in April and I wanted to say that both the sales rep who knocked on my door to talk with me about ADT and the actual installer were both a joy to work with. They provided excellent customer service. The Sales Rep was Brent and unfortunately I don't remember the installer's name, but they both took lots of time to explain all of my options and to go over the tutorial with me. I had an incident with my dog setting off the alarm and the installer came out the next day to adjust the sensitivity. I'm not really sure why all the poor reviews, but I want to say that I think ADT is great product wise AND Customer Service wise. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. I feel much securer now.

I had Randel as my service tech and he was absolutely phenomenal! He was extremely fast and very personable. He told me everything I needed and what stuff was crucial and what could be put on hold. He was very knowledgable and very professional, I would highly recommend Randel and the Safe Haven team for your home security needs.

ADT has been around for a long time, they provide a reliable product and will save you money if the relocation managers reach out to you. They are actually providing a great product, I honestly believe this is a good company.

The service today was Excellent, we had the pleasure of working with Eugene. He was very professional and straight forward on the products and services to install by ADT. Happy Customer!!!! Thanks for the Excellent service!!!!

Great installation experience ! Chris Hunt was able to answer all questions we had , and then customize service that worked for our home !

Very disappointing, had a technician who told us that we would have up to 30 days to cancel our service with no penalties. Come to find out after re-reading contract and talking with customer service rep. that we only had 3 business days to make that decision. There was no offer of help for the situation from the companies side. Now we would be stuck with a $2,000 or so cancellation fee, and we have had the service for less than 30 days and have never even used it...read the whole contract before you sign your money away.

Scott Brown installed the ADT security system at our new residence. He was technically sound and was accommodating enough to answer all our queries with patience.

Be careful on signing long term contracts. They are shady and will stalk New home owners for a free system. They will them try to upsell and after 13 months ADT will buy the contract and then it's not there problem anymore.

Great customer service. Ben was honest and easy to talk to and he explained topics very well so we could understand. Reason for 4 stars is because I'm having second thoughts with the monthly fees. Over the course of a 3 year contract we will be spending way more than we should.

Purchased a new system 9 months ago. Was told system can be moved by install tech, he lied. Safe Haven told my wife on the phone it can be moved, only 9 months old, really?

Then we get a nasty rude email from Brittany Shorts, providing 3 horrendous rip-off options? No thanks.

The product sucks anyways. My co-worker got a much better system including cameras and modern day keypad for half as much.

Stay away from ADT systems and run from rip-off Safe Haven Security services.

I have had ADT for 4mons. ADT service is ok.. The equipment sucks. We weren't aware of the stupid long contract which makes our experience even worse. Ive had a tech at my house 4 times. 3 different techs. Jeff is amazing. Hes been to my house 2 of the 4 calls. He makes sure every sensor works, all questions answered and no issues when he leaves. Hes about the only good thing with my experience since ive signed papers with adt/safe haven.

Rob is amazing. Really cares about his clients and their family s.

James Watson was very friendly, prompt, professional, and knowledgeable! He is very patient and detailed and really cares about his line of work, but more importantly, the people he is helping achieve peace of mind. I will always recommend ADT to friends and family.

Rob was awesome. We got an appointment the next morning after calling customer service. Rob called 30 minutes ahead of the appointment to let us know he was on his way, and arrived right at the very start of the scheduled slot. He quickly diagnosed the issue with our panel, gave us a brand new one, and let me know what to do if there were any future problems. He also noticed we had one entryway set on a delayed alarm, which was incorrect, and fixed it quickly. Overall, great service and very professional.

Originally I rated them 5 starts because the tech that came out (Justice) was a really nice guy. But now that I think about it, it has been nothing but a headache and frustration with this company. So starting from the beginning my realtor referred a woman named Amanda Eddings (Mandi) to go over all the deals and upgrades I would be receiving. She asked me a couple questions about what I was looking for in a security system and suggested two doorbell cameras, glass break system, and a upgrade to a touchscreen panel for free . I told her I wanted to go over all the information she provided to me with my spouse first. She continued to talk about how much of a deal I would be receiving due to them having half off installation for the month of December and asked for my debit card information. I was thrown off guard but provided my debit card information anyways because I knew I wanted and needed a security system for my home. Mandi never went over how any of the systems worked with me briefly but told me I wouldn t have to pay the technician anything when he arrives and it should be notated in the notes for the technician. Fast forward the technician arrives (Justice Davis) and he was a very nice and friendly person, after he set up the panel he informs me that a doorbell camera wouldn t work because my doorbell is battery operated and said we could get different cameras instead in replace of that to accommodate what I was paying for monthly. Justice also told me that it also runs off of WiFi which I wasn t expecting that on top of I didn t have WiFi at the time because I just moved into a new house, he also told me that I had gaps as far as coverage for my glass break system and would cost me an extra 1080.00 for him to add protection for the other windows which was only two other windows, he told me I could get on a payment plan for about $97 a month EXTRA for the equipment, And that they would just bill me in the mail monthly but the next day the company ran my debit card that I provided to Mandi originally. Before I realized they ran my card without permission we rescheduled for another day to have cameras put in, I spoke with a customer service representative and told them a 4-6pm window would work best for me and they ended up scheduling a technician out at 2pm so I had to reschedule AGAIN! When the technician finally came out it was someone new (Ben) when he arrived he had one indoor camera I told the technician I was confused because I didn t need a indoor camera he gave it to me anyways and suggested I call to figure it out since his hands are tied. Let s just say they will be getting a phone call from me Monday morning to cancel and give they re equipment back.

Ryan Young, was the best technician. He was knowledgeable and he got the job done quickly. He was able to sell to me comfortably without making me feel pressured (which is huge for me). Any business I need handled now- I will go right to him.

The Technician Osvaldo did a great job explaining all the features and all steps. The installation process was short as well (1H 50M). Overall Good Job

I had an excellent and Professional experience with my technician Jeremy Kelly. He explained everything to me and he showed me how the whole system worked in addition to making some additional recommendations.

Carlos Zepeda did a great job with my alarm system. He was very through with explaining the features of the alarm system and had much patience overall with difficult experienced during the install.

David was awesome, professional and I will ask for him directly when I add services!

Erick Olivar was my ADT specialist from Safe Haven Security. He's a family man and understands the importance of keeping family safe and secure. He did an exceptional job with all the installations.

Their business practices are very deceiving! A client of mine closed on her new house last week. Myles Brown with Safe Haven stopped over the other day and said that there was a $2500 credit at closing for a new security system and that I as her realtor forgot to tell her about it and that he was stopping over to schedule the install. My client wouldn't let him in and thought something seemed fishy. Myles began to act rude and said she wasted his time since he had to drive a couple hours to her house, he then told her she's doing a pretty bad job of protecting herself. She called me upset and at first was mad that I forgot to tell her about the $2500 credit and that Myles was coming over. I then had to explain that there was no credit for a security system and that I would never give her information to a 3rd party for any sales call and that this guy is getting the buyers information from the county assessor page after a home closes. Our realtor association has had a lot of complaints about Myles Brown lately and all of the complaints have one thing in common, Myles always blames the realtor for forgetting to tell the homeowner about the $2500 credit, he is rude and that he was coming over, which a lot of people are getting angry with their realtor because Myles is lying! Stay clear from this company for deceptive business practices! They have been reported to the Iowa Attorney Generals office and they are opening an investigation!

Safe Haven Security has very deceptive practices towards the employees and their customers

They are an authorized dealer for ADT even though they have the same deceptive practices as ADT Defenders that was bought earlier this year. Apply to work at ADT corporate.

Do not waist your time with the deceptive practices of an authorized dealer like Safe Haven Security.

No gas, phone or insurance allowance reimbursement. A lot of wear and tear on your vehicle. If you have an accident there is no insurance in place to protect you or your vehicle.

Don't deceive employees saying that Safe Haven Security is the largest dealer for ADT in the world; simply not true.

We are very happy with the hard work and craftsmanship of Scott Trudel. He made our home much safer with smoke, carbon and flood detection plus I feel like it is very secure from anyone trying to break into the house with the door and window sensors. With Scotts advice and knowledge of these ADT systems and electrical work I now have peace of mind at all times. He spent time teaching us all about the system and also fixed electrical issues that could have possibly caused a fire. I would absolutely recomend his services to anyone who needs a security system. Happy customer here! A plus!

Had an all around great experience with Conor Quiring, who was recommended to me by my realtor. He was very upfront and honest about what I needed to bring to the table and what he would bring to the table as well. My installation tech, Ryan Contois did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend going through Conor to anyone.

Beyond disappointed on all fronts. Contracted for a system, they arrived and strong-armed an upsale to more expensive equipment. Even then, system doesn't work. They respond to all reviews that they take customer service seriously and to call their headquarters. Have placed over 20 calls in 2018 and they have not even returned one call. They hide behind voicemail. This company is as bad as it gets!!!

Robert Thomas came to my home and did an in depth assessment of my needs based on the level of security I wanted. He wrote out and detailed where each item would go and explained why each was important. He was very thorough and showed me how to use all the equipment. Now my house is locked up tighter than Fort Knox and I couldn't be happier.

Salesman was fantastic. However, we have already cancelled due to the horrible service they provide. They will lie to get you hooked. DO YOUR RESEARCH! I called multiple times to get the service cancelled and the guy very rudely hung up on me. I work in customer service and whether the person wants the service or not you are not RUDE! Please do not go with these people. Please do your research.
