I first came here straight after my wedding so that my husband and I could avoid the madness of visitors and messages, etc. I am actually writing this from the hotel itself, three years later, on my anniversary.

This is, by far, my favourite hotel. The decor is delightful, the rooms are wonderfully homely, the beds are comfortable, the spa is superb (my husband and I spent almost the ENTIRE day there), the food is incredible and the staff are professional and warm.

This place is perfect for getting away from the madness of London to rest and relax. I don't want to go home!

I have been coming to London for years and had never heard of this place. Absolutely beautiful place, right on the banks of the Thames.

Today, I took a 30 minute stroll along the river and it was beautiful. This hotel is only 4 miles from Heathrow, so definitely stay here next time you are traveling through.

A very family friendly hotel. Staff were very friendly and facilities were nice. We also had buffet dinner and it was delicious. Room could ve been a bit bigger and felt quite jammed even with deluxe room. Bed was not super comfortable and I had to ask for a re-clean to my bathroom. But again, suitable for family getaways.

As a spa member for many years I'm a regular visitor and often bring friends as well. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is excellent and the riverside views are superb. The Left Bank buffet restaurant is especially to be recommended - particularly if you love unusual starters and lots of puds.

Lovely food, v pleasant waiting staff. Strange building that isn't particularly pretty and decor inside is rather standard hotel fare but it's ok. The Lock restaurant was pleasant. It's v v v noisy when it's busy because it's all hard surfaces that bounce sound around but as it got quieter with people numbers the noise level was much easier.
I couldn't recommend this place if you have a hearing problem because it was actually quite an issue until the people thinned out.
But the food and the staff were both excellent so I'm v glad I went!

Meh

Enjoyed two days at the hotel for our wedding anniversary. Staff were great. Spa was relaxing. The hot tub on the River bank is the best to relax and watch the world go by. Food was a bit of a let down, but plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Allergy Sufferers BEWARE!

Allergy Sufferers BEWARE!

My friends & I went to the Runneymede on Thames recently for a gala event which was catered by the hotel.

One of our number has a severe Gluten allergy, which was raised to the hotel beforehand.

When the meals were served to our table, we were surprised that the Gluten Free
meal looked very similar to the other, non-allergy meals served, so we questioned the waiter who confirmed we had indeed been served the correct meal.

Shortly after it became evident that we had not been served the correct meal as the person in question quickly became very ill.

Upon raising this to the maitre de for the evening the response was rude & uncaring that their mistake had such dire consequences.

We then asked this to be escalated to someone more senior however this was not possible at the time.

Subsequent emails to the hotel after the event has so far not returned any admittance of mistake, or even any kind of apology from the hotel.

We would recommend that this hotel be avoided at all costs.

Went to the Runnymede for my partners birthday and we were both very disappointed with the whole affair. We have been there on several previous occasions but, I am afraid that their usually high standards have slipped somewhat. I know we are in the midst of Covid but the menu, which is now a la carte by the way, is very limited. My partner had a beetroot salad starter which was all leaf and very little beetroot, while I had a Meze plate which was not too bad.
My partner then had a very stodgy pasta dish which was supposed to come with a leaf salad which didn't arrive. Since the beetroot salad had been so disappointing, we did not chase the salad up. That was until she realised that the pasta was actually virtually inedible without it. When it arrived, it was a small tin dish of nothing but rocket. I had the half chicken, not because I wanted it particularly but the other choices were so limited. The reason I don't often go for chicken is that it is often a bit dry, and, unfortunately this was no exception.
The sweets were lovely!!
My partner had a moose and I had the lemon and ginger cheesecake.
The other great disappointment was that they had only two choices of beer. It's a flipping hotel for goodness sake.
We did not complain on the night because it was meant to be a special occasion and my other half doesn't like confrontation.
Sorry, shan't be rushing back.

I was here for a business conference not long ago and have stayed here four times the past year. I will definitely be booking in the summer as I love the outdoor pool. Staff and management here are always friendly, helpful and nothing is a problem. The decor is amazing and the rooms are large, clean with lots of space

Went for a look around for a Wedding Venue.
3rd February 2018.
We were not greated very nicely.
The women we arranged to meet seemed to be in a tremendous rush.
Had a very brief look in the main room.
Just felt very very rushed around and seemed very unprofessional.
If she had another appointment she could have called to explain.
She did call when I was viewing another venue asking if we were still coming.
I said yes as our appointment time was an hour or so away.
Surely then she should of explained politely that she's has over booked and could we
possibly re-arrange. Which we would of been happy to do!
On the way out, she shot off and darted through another door.
"Ohhh Bye then"
Just felt extremely uncomfortable.
So clearly we will not be celebrating the Wedding there!

I went to buy an afternoon tea voucher this evening from the front desk and was firstly told that they couldn't do it as they didn't have a log-in and to come back another day? I'm sorry, but what sort of customer service is that? I don't live round the corner and had specifically gone there to buy this present.

I was then told to try the spa, when I said I couldn't come back. Then the system went down, after about half an hour of waiting around I gave up in the end! To be fair the girl in the spa was trying her best and I have no complaints with her customer service.

My main complaint is with the the front desk/reception, they need to think about how they speak to customers and saying NO, come back another day is not the solution! Maybe in future, try to help and solve with a friendly, 'can-do' attitude and not make me the customer feel like they are a nuisance and in the way, which is exactly how I was made to feel! Sad to give a bad review as I have been to the Runnymede many times and always had good service, but I think it's important to give feedback both good and bad....

I visited Runnymede On Thames as a makeup artist for one of the weddings a couple of weeks ago, the venue is lovely and was looking beautifully festive. The reception staff were helpful and I look forward to returning again in the future.

Blown away by the friendliness and attentiveness of staff. Just stopped for an ice lolly (watermelon martini?!) and to listen to the guitar by the river. Perfect ambience for a lazy Sunday. Will be back soon!

We where at the hotel yesterday to meet up with a very dear friend and had a late buffet lunch
There happened to be a conference so parking was limited (I've never seen so many Merc's and BMWs)
Right from stepping into the place ALL the staff were courteous friendly and very helpful (for a large hotel was a breath of fresh air)
We were shown through to the restaurant again with courtesy and efficiency
Well the food that was on offer was well presented and obviously fresh I explained that I had dietary requirements and the waitress and chefs carefully talked me through the wide range on offer
I won't bore you with what I had for my lunch - but I really enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to eat there
I'd like to thank all of the staff for making our meeting with a dear friend a memorable one
We had a long drive after that and our experience helped
Cheers

Wonderful location overlooking the River Thames, went for Lunch in the Leftbank restaurant and was able to sit outside. The buffet was really lovely and everything was fresh. Great service, i have been back since, same great service, very clean and welcoming, very relaxed didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be going back.

Service was excellent as always, all the staff are friendly and willing to help. The room had everything we needed, although the room was far to hot at night even with the window open and fan going. We used the whirlpool on the river very relaxing even in the rain, and the spa which are both included in the price.

The food variations were exceptional and high quality. It might appear to be expensive but if your appetite is high and you are open to trying variations then it's most certainly great value for money. But it is not economical if you have a narrow food liking. The venue and staff are great, nice looking on the Thames watching the hot tubbers. Recommended.

I have been staying in the hotel for 4 weeks in total. Service Ian really nice, food delicious and the rooms are fine if you are lucky to have a river view. This a nice place for active people. I give 3 starts because of terrible internet connection (no matter where, patio or rooms), very small rooms and overcrowded hotel during weekends, with loud guests taking part in the weddings.

Beautiful setting along the banks of the Thames, a stone's throw from where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215.
Nice clean hotel, excellent buffet dinner and breakfast, lovely helpful staff at every level.
We had a superior double room which was comfortable, but let down by the almost constant noise of air con units above, too small TV screen to relax in bed and watch comfortably and the room got stuffy quickly - which resulted having to open the window in the night, which let in more road and Heathrow airport noise.
