A well cutated exhibition of an important archeological site. Loved the long walk to freedom bronze statues. More suitable for older children as there's a bit of reading. Staff well trained and very professional. We left a wallet at a drinks kiosk and it was collected and waiting for us the following day by an extremely well organised admin/security team. Thank you.

Cradle of Humankind is a must see for locals and international travelers! The guides are friendly and helpful, they are very interactive with the visitors. Just keep in mind that the caves are not accessible for wheelchairs. Small kids will enjoy and elderly people might have a difficult time with small entrances and the 200 steps back up.

Visited both Maropeng and the Sterkfontein caves. Excellent guides giving you the tour of the Cradle of Human kind. A must visit when in the area. Maropeng is wheelchair friendly. Sterkfontein caves is a bit of a climb into the caves with some confined spaces. Well worth to see where some of the earliest homonid fossils in South Africa were found. Guided tours every 30 minutes.

A beautiful, informative and fascinating place to visit. Make some time (+/-2-3 hours or more if you want to do it leisurely) for this so you can see all the exhibits and try all the interactive displays.

Incredible experience to take my daughter to and learn about our joint history. Should be mandatory stuff for kids. Encountered professional and friendly staff all around. The restaurant at the caves offers incredible value for money.

Beautiful interactive museum of modern conception. You enter the museum through a boat that travels the first stages of the formation of the planet, continues with the birth of life and the evolution of the same and ends with the history of our species in relation to the order of primates. Very instructive and it would be worth seeing before the apartheid museum to understand more about how racial laws made no sense.

Informative set up. Good for a day out, especially if you have children. Unfortunately, very underwhelmed by the guides. More knowledgeable guides, who have significant knowledge of theory of evolution, and can give sensible factual information, are sorely needed.

The idea of this place is great. But it lacked a lot of real bones. A lot of replicas. Most of the bones are at Universities or other museums. :-/ It has a decent history lesson about Africa.
