Never been camping before but it was nothing like i imagined.. Not good..
Loved it. Close proximity to village. Bathrooms were clean and full hookups worked well. Kids rode all over and played in the little park, while tons of trails to lakes and main village. Going back next month
the worst costomer service ever !!!! rude management and staff !
The campground is not bad at all, the 3-star rating is because everything in whistler has turned commercial... business, and so is this campground too. For the rest, it's a clean, confortable place with very good facilities.
Due to the reviews and the price, our expectations of this campground were correspondingly high.
Unfortunately, it was only partially convincing:
+ Multilingual registration
+ Well-kept outdoor area
+ Central location
- Defective machines in the laundry
- Washrooms (locked showers / toilets)
- Showers for a fee
Don't stay here
Very expensive, showers extra 1$ 6min OK but very dirty washrooms
Unfriendly staff.
Multiuse place only water and power hookup no dump...
At other side of a river, very small 23ft rv on a 28ft place very close
Yurts are great, cabins are great. Bring a bike to ride to the village.
Stated in the yurts. Comfy, warm. Great way to 'glamp'! Plus breakfast in the on site cafe is great with a variety of options.
Sorry a no star rating to a place that rips people off. A deplorable policy of 14 days notice on a camp site - get real! Taking advantage of people is the lowest of lowest, hope you feel ashamed. Will spread the word to all and sundry that you run a unethical business.
Looooooved our stay at the Riverside Campground this summer!! We'll be back!!
We were told because we showed up late and couldn't purchase a parking pass due to the office being closed, that we had to drive our cars drunk off the property or they would have them towed.. You couldn't pay me to go back.
Great location, so close to the ski hill in Whistler, and within a mile from Lost Lake. Dog friendly, close to the spa, awesome on site cafe... it's just a great place to camp! The only issues we've had is getting through to the office; it is hard to get them on the phone. But this is our go-to place in Whistler, no matter what season.
Fab location, close to Whistler village. Our cabin was well stocked with essentials, we had everything we needed for 3 days.
Rude employees. Get an airbnb instead. skylight dome in our yurt is covered in tarp because a tree fell on it. It wss raining and some rain rain dripped inside. Instead of transferring us to a different yurt, they still assigned the said to us. When we asked front desk to be transferred to a different yurt, she refused because "all yurts are occupied" which they weren't.
Not a bad place. Facilities could use a little love. But close enough to Whistler village and a few hiking routes
Wonderful location. Stayed in the rv spots and while a little small, they were close to the park for the kids. Right beside the bike trail that runs all the way around Whistler. A bit hard to get response from their customer service team so best to email rather than call.
Riverside is a great spot, especially for tent camping. The sites offer decent privacy, proximity to Fitz creek, and a shower house. If you bik, there is immediate access to the valley trail, and quick ride into the village. The mini golf course is fun, and the Riverside Cafe is a bit of a hidden gem.
Beautiful RV campsite with its own wood fire.
Too bad from the right handrail of the stairs to the toilets that were loose.
A very nice place, center is very cozy with a lot of terraces, the prices are quite spicy but definitely worth it. Please come back again for skiing.
I have been coming to this campground every year for the last 5 years. Sadly the campsite has gotten worse. The trailers who are parked here for the winter obvious don't care what their sites look like and either do the workers. There is junk around some of the sites and one even had an old refrigerator dumped in front to the site. These long term campers obviously have dogs that they let roam freely and they do not clean up after them. These are some of the reason why I avoid RV parks with seasonal/permanent residents. The ownership/workers need to ensure the sites are kept clean either wise it will just get worse!!
We we're visiting with our RV the prices arent cheap but for 79,- we had electric, water and we had sewer on are place. And there is free wifi but its not fast, only in the late evening it works great. And your like half an hour walk from the whistler village.
Quite expensive site but good facilities incl Mini golf. 20 min walk into Whistler.
Camping in the heart of Whistler; with showers, Wifi and a cafe.
A great setting and a decent campsite. Easy access to many great outdoor activities. Customer service was actually better than in past years. Downfall is poor planning, which has been a long term problem for this place. Stayed in upper partial hook up site. Unfortunately bathrooms in this area were closed due to limited staffing (???). Mixed use were open but a bit f a walk and extremely busy.
When I went to drain my tanks the upper sewage dump was out of order so I had to go line -up in the lower one.
Camping at Riverside comes at a high premium and if they cannot provide the service that customers pay to receive that area of the campground shouldn't be open OR offered at a discount.
Slightly better than mediocre. Clubhouse showed up with burnt toasted bread.
We stayed two nights over Canadian Thanksgiving, October 2019. Pros:
- site was clean (not like past reviews) and long enough (50ft, full hookups).
- 20ish minute walk along paved path to Whistler proper
- well behaved, leashed pets permitted
Cons:
- have to pay for washroom/shower use (seriously? Even public campgrounds have free showers in BC, where available).
- staff made zero attempt to enforce posted quiet hours and a massive party ensued both nights were were there.
- staff did not keep other campers from putting up awnings on the road and partying all.day.long.
Obviously, this place attracts large groups who are unwilling to abide by regular RV campground rules (hello, keep your truck, rig and belongings off the roadways, keep your kids out of other people's sites, etc) and seem to think it is acceptable to party (loudly) well past midnight. There were RCMP at the onsite cafe both mornings we were there, perhaps if staff are unwilling to enforce their own policies, they could call the RCMP to help out with the rowdies (they obviously know where the place is).
Well organized campsite, including clean sanitary facilities (1 dollar shower) washing machines ($ 3.50) and good and fast wifi.
Nice campsite, beautiful surroundings, quite pricey.
As I write this, I am still on site. Our stay so far has been badly marred by a catalogue of really disappointing errors and poor service. Arriving late, having pre-warned reception via email some days prior, we found a booking slip and map with our name on it at the door. It did not, however, have a site number. I checked my emails and found an email saying an attachment had important information in it... But there was no attachment. Now nearing 10pm, I tried the emergency phone number. No one answered - Thank goodness it wasn't an emergency. At this point we decided we'd have to just take a vacant slot and return to reception in the morning. We did so, and were greeted with not the merest hint of an apology - just an insistance that we must now move sites.
What about showers? Could we get some tokens? We were promptly sent off to the laundry to a laundry card machine. Apparently, despite no mention of shower credit on or around the machine, that does both, dispensing credit for the reception block showers. Of course, though, for two of us to shower we'd need two cards - more expense, hassle, etc.
What about the showers at the other end, beyond the RVs (right next to the new site we'd been told to move to)? Oh, they use tokens, $1 each. Fine, more flexible and simple. We bought 4, headed back to the RV, moved sites and headed for the showers to find they don't take tokens, they take laundry cards too. Why would you sell us tokens for a shower that needs a card? Why would you not check where we mean? So utterly silly. We've wasted a good hour this morning dealing with this.
Had the full English breakfast. Very good breakfast. Will be back.
Really nice spot. The staff and management spoil it. Rude and unreasonable, they expect total lights out and sleeping by 10pm or they threaten to kick you out. We were just playing boss games and having normal conversation! Will not be back!
Friendly staff in a nice location. The Wifi is horrible if you are planning to try and do any work, don't bother. So I then just took a sick week and had more fun. They shouldn't advertise they have Wifi, but honestly everything else was great!
Our friends put their camper there and we ski there when we visit was slower. Seems like a good campground good facilities good bathrooms. Good breakfast there are much better than a Denny's
Nice campground. However, by far the most expensive in 3 weeks, and after 36 hours no broom passed through toilets and showers, let alone a mop. You also have to pay for a warm shower on this expensive campground. The reception staff is apparently fed up with it: a smile can't get away and more than once provides incorrect information.
So expensive for what you get but what more can you expect with Whistler accomodation! Would be a cool place to camping in the summer - we were there in the winter
Maintenance, very dirty all around. Bathrooms are gross, showers don t drain. Laundry is filthy and then the team there overload the washing machines with linens so that they don t get a chance to wash properly. I took out a load as I wanted to use the washing machine and it was so stuffed with resort towels. You could see all the hairs still sticking to them. The bear lock boxes were dirty and mouldy. The property itself had garbage strewn throughout the bushes and no one ever picked this up. Only extremely hot water coming out of bathroom sinks. Soap dispensers were broken. Even the staff did not seem to care. We won t be back and will add a google review.
Clean campground, located immediately beside scandinavian spa
Had a great couple days here, the staff is excellent!
Nice family campground. Sites are a little bit close to each other in the tent area.
Very nice facility with good staff and support within a mile or so of Whistler Village. Can take a bike trail there
The log cabins are wonderful, perfect for a romantic getaway, or family fun. All amenities included, stove, fridge, pots and pans, everything you need. It was so great to have our own little place
It's not camping! The name Riverside is absolutely deceiving. You are basically paying to sleep in a practically paved lot, crammed in with other campers. Our site, J54, was basically an after thought, it barely had enough space for our car. It was right next to the stop sign. I would not recommend this place, unless you are desperate and don't know what camping really is.
1 star experience at this 3 star RV park.
Would have been 3 stars based on [i] park maintenance (garbage on the ground around the dumpsters and unkept/overgrown landscaping), [ii] sites are small/tight, [iii] putting course is permanently closed despite still appearing on Google Maps.
Giving 1 star because [i] I reserved one of the more private sites and then got bumped to a site with no privacy (see photo). [ii] The site I ended up on (W6) turns into a puddle / stream when it rains (including the pavement. [iii] Encountered other small annoyances like the utility kiosk did not accommodate a surge protector or hose Y-fitting and initially the power was reading as reverse polarity.
What you re paying for here is the proximity to Whistler so if you choose to stay here set your park expectations accordingly.
Next time in Whistler I will try Whistler RV Park even though it is about 20 minutes south of town.
Good location for camping near the village. Tent site felt really private and was big enough for two tents. Walk in sites are about 15 ft to 50+ yards from the carpark, very manageable. Removing stars because bathroom facilities were WAY too small for the number of people - constant lines for the sink/toilet/showers. Also TONS of mosquitos at the sites. Note: no campfires allowed due to high fire danger, which was a bit of a let down but understandable.
It's camping, it's away from home and it's not far from home.
Really nice campground in whistler, just a 20 minute walk from whistler village. Friendly staff, and organized camp sites make for a great stay. They have clean laundry, facilities, wifi, the whole shebang. The only star I take off is for price. Just a wee bit expensive at around $75/night. Guess that comes with the location! Either way great park!
Lovely resort. Easily accessible, clean and close to amenities
Nice and friendly staff. Beautiful campsite. Walking distance to Whistler downtown
Washroom are clean and I totally like shower. If it is a private campground then just to check if people are following your rules like 10pm-7am is quite time. Put off the camp fires starting 10pm. It s 12:11am at the moment peopleE ebirning the wood fires. Chopping and cutting woods happens everywhere. Just hope the customer service should have done a better job to make sue everyone obeys the rules that you set. Otherwise everything is just a lie
Pet friendly, kid friendly. Great access to Whistler.
This is my first online review, this is not something I would normally do. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Riverside over the recent long weekend, the tent sites are spacious and a very short walk from the car park, our pitch was next to the running water. In a nutshell it was everything we wanted in a campsite, nice clean showers, hot water, clean toilets, great location near enough to walk into Whistler (weather permitting) so we really had a great trip.
What made the stay extra special was that I lost my cell phone on the miniature golf course (which I realise is exceptionally foolish), the first thing I would like to do is thank the person or persons that handed in my cell phone to the reception, its nice to know that there are still great, honest, kind people in this world that will do that and thank you very much. Second I would like to thank the staff who went out of there way to send it back to me, they made no fuss and where more than happy to help, so thank you to all the staff.
I hope those that decide to stay in the camp have as good a time as we did.
Nice site, facilities were okay - clean but not amazing, but so expensive
Awesome location and polite staff for the most part. If camp fire is important to you and you are a responsible camp fire user, you may want to consider other options. There is a ban on propane fire pit here while it is allowed in provincial campgrounds and the other Whistler campground, during extreme fire hazard condition.
Beautiful, quiet campgroud. Close to everything in Whistler.
Yurts are nice and cozy and the staff are very friendly.
Quite okay campsite but damn expensive. Paid 68$ for one night with full hookups. WiFi is bad. Most of the time no connection. There's a small playground with two slides. Toilets are clean. At this rate they still even charge for hot showers. I believe it was 2$ for 7 minutes. Should definitely be included for this price. Staff is friendly. Especially the smaller lady with nose piercing took her time to think along with us for fun things to do in Whistler with kids. Her advice gave us a very memorable and lovely experience in Whistler. It's only a five minute drive to the buzz of Whistler from this campground. Pity it's so expensive.
We stopped for 2 nights in Sept 2013 in our CanaDream RV and the place was great. Small shop on site along with a cafe (closes at 3pm though), so can take a breakfast and pick up supplies for the day ahead.
Whistler is awesome, upper village is amazing, plenty to do and see including the peak to peak gondola (bit pricey but worth it).
Would I recommend, yes
Went here with my friends for a stag event, place was accommodating, and if you're looking for a nice outdoor feel, this is your place.
expensive campground, but the sites are ok. we had a multifunctional one, they were great. washrooms are ok, could be cleaner
Kid friendly. Staff is helpful. A great place to camp.
Nice RV place very close to the sea. It is a simple place but it works and has many residents that stay for a longer period. It is a bit outside Victoria so you need to take a cab or have a car to go there.
We ate at the Riverside Cafe for breakfast. It's a reasonably priced restaurant for Whistler.
It's just far enough out of the way that it's more of a locals place.
The food is good and there is a decent selection of breakfast to choose from on the menu.
Nice clean well run place. Lots of trails for hiking and not to far from town if you like shopping.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced, they keep raising the prices and taking away services to the customers. And because it's a "luxury resort" you have to follow they insane list of rules. The worst one is that you have to have a "white tarp on your motorhome and white only due to the fact that it looks better! 10 years ago this campground was we'll run and maintained; now it's not maintained very well, very bad customer service and the prices are just outrageous!
This is the only place to camp in Whistler and have easy access to the village. The bike path runs right through the campground so you have an easy way to get into the village. The campsites are nice and clean, but there is no privacy and they are very small. The prices are hard to beat compared to other lodging in Whistler. The bathrooms are clean, but you do need to pay for showers. The Wifi at the campground is horrible so plan ahead if you need internet.
It's was just okay. Bathroom had a stall and a shower out of order. Upper bunk bed didn't look like it has the sheets changed in awhile- with little black specks. So close together that the kids next to us woke us up way too early with their screaming.
Poor wifi, and poor customer support. Nice area though!
Read the reviews and they will say it all . Customer service is non existent. Rude at best. No wifi . Period . Obviously the owners are not involved in there business . Or just dont care. Will be our last time here. Worst was the front end staff making up excuses and trying to make me feel like just another customer that should feel honored to be staying here. Every negative review here is bang on .
If I could describe this place with 1 word it would be HORRIBLE. It's straight terrible. I do not recommend it. Very dirty, rude staff and dumb Policy's. I'd rather sleep outside in the forest naked then ever go back to that place. Vacation my ass, this place will make you wish you were back at work. If your looking for an awful time with dirty cabins and terrible Cafe food then this is the place to go.
