RITZ-CARLTON SAN JUAN HOTEL AND CASINO Review

The hotel is definitely on the lower end of quality of the ritz Carltons. The staff acts like they are doing you a favor by serving you and it is very slow. From the pool to the restaurants, every morning was slow just for basic breakfast. The hotel is nice and people are friendly once you have their attention. They have a lot of work to do to catch up to the ritz standard. Other issues noticed the Outdoor bathrooms by pool are disgusting, and chairs by beach are old and broken. Also need a bistro for quick food versus always having to order overpriced snacks and food from grill.

With rooms at less than $200 per night you are getting a lot of riff raff who normally could not afford to stay at a ritz and brings them in to make it more into a holiday inn crowd.

Day 3 and everything is top notch. The staff is beyond what we expected. Upgrading to club level is so worth it. I'll keep this short and sweet then post a final review when we leave Saturday. Thank you Ritz Carlton for exceeding our expectations.

I stayed here as part of my bucket list. At least one stay at a Ritz Carlton, once at a Waldorf historia. The Ritz is like Rolls-Royce; they dont advertise for a reason.

Beautiful place and decoration, but the casino need better and more newer machines.

We're visiting Puerto Rico and we like to play in the slots machines. The personnel was so professional, the facilities were neat. We're planning to go for Christmas and stay there. The Ritz'Carlton is one of the best Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico.

Not the same quality as a Ritz Carlton in the US and certainly not like the other Ritz on another side of Puerto Rico. When I visited in April, the price was unbeatable though.

Very good service, good food and tremendous facilities. Very good choice to recommend. And spend some good holidays.

Fantastic property. Beautiful beach. Exceptional staff. Highly recommend staying on the club floor. We usually get upgraded to an ocean view balcony upon request. Quick ride from the airport. BLT Steakhouse is great. We stayed 6 nights most recently and never left the property. Nice local restaurant Metropol across the street.

I go for the casino, but lately I've lost more than what I play

Every thing you would expect from the Ritz. We had a small issue with a room on the 9th floor and they moved us to a nicer room with out hesitation. The staff are very friendly and always asking if they can help make the experiance nicer. I would absolutely recomend this hotel to friends/family.

Upscale beach resort with a casino. 15 min fron Old San Juan. Great staff. Everything is more expensive here. Free beach chairs and unbrellas.

The building itself is clearly very old but well maintained. Service is ok.

The service from the pool to the spa to club room is first class.

We stayed here for a full week OMG the service was really fast and everyone is so very nice and the backyard of the hotel is the gorgeous beach and there is a cool hut to eat and drink near the pool, it was the best hotel ever and I cried when I had to leave

I only went to the casino. Parking is complimentary with validation. Smaller casino than I'm used to visiting, but pretty nice. They provided bug spray to protect against zika contraction.

They charge for everything and the casino is a rip off

Pay close attention to the bill if you stay here. We got overcharged, and it took some time to get it straighten out.

Decent accommodations and service. It's a bit older, so the rooms are a little dated, buy overall not bad. There's a casino attached, so you always have entertainment.

Beautiful pool area. Professional staff who greeted us warmly every time.

Very busy for the holiday, drinks are expensive but well made

My husband, my daughter and I spent two weeks in August 2016 and we have only great things to say about the service. Disregarding the training the employees may have, they are nice and helpful beyond their duties. The room was clean and comfortable, the facilities are old, which is the only not so positive thing, but well maintained. Even the hair dryer is the kind you want to have.

We want to especially thank Noelia, Maria, Elinor and Esteban from the bar for making us feel at home and for the snack they gave us for our trip back.

I attended a business conference here and it was fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, the spa was great, and the staff were very accommodating.

The staff is exceptional a magnificent welcome without complaint with the perfect service the beautiful hotel facilities and the beach without words thank you all. Leave half a heart there!

The best and most beautiful hotel in San Juan. I would totally stay at this location again. I spent a week here and loved it. The only drawback is that the restaurants located within the facility are mediocre for their prices. My friends and I ended up going to Denny's down the street and paying about 70% less for each meal.

It's been closed, since Hurricane Maria. But, it was great. Fine dining in 3 Restaurants, 2 lounges.

Its great, it has a pool and easy access to the beach.

Very well maintained and serviced hotel. Everything from check in to service at the pool and beach is simple and everyone is helpful.

As others have noted, the staff is excellent. Everyone you encounter is pleasant and professional, they truly made my stay. The hotel is lovely -24/7 onsite casino for those that enjoy them!

Great location to stay with a remodeled swimming pool. Would give 5 stars if room rates were not outrageous when in high demand and during other times of the year.

Eh. Really didn't think it was anything special. Also, beach closes really early, which I thought was really annoying, and the location is terrible. Terrible. There is very little within walking distance, and that's not super convenient.

THE RITZ CARLTON IS A BEATIFULL HOTEL THE HOSPITALITY IS OF THE CHART ,FOOD IS ESQUISITE THE VIEW OF THE ROOMS AMAZING THE WHOLE AMBIENT IS BREATH TAKING IM VERY PLEASE WITH THIS HOTEL AND DONT FORGET THE CASINO WHERE YOU CAN ENTERTAIN YOUR LUCK AND MAYBE ADD SOME MONEY TO YOUR ACCOUNT...LOVE IT

One of my best vacations ever!!! Every single aspect of our experience there was outstanding. Our expectations were exceeded. The restaurants were also amazing. We went out into town several times and the staff at the hotel was great at recommending where to visit and eat. I highly recommend this property.

Still recuperating from hurricane Maria it will open soon and they will once again be one of the best locations in Isla Verde. P. R.

Excellent hotel very clean and very good attention.

Ritz Carlton is well known for their service but we had very bad experience in this specific hotel. Will never go there. We were by the pool and wanted to get info to rent out those pavilions by the pool. One of the employe ( his name is Tous) answered very unprofessionally "Do u know it's 500/day". Anyway we ended up getting it and our server was good and food was good as well. Prices were not that high. Again I had to go to the bar by the pool and had to deal with this bartender Carlito. I would say Carlito shouldn't be working there. I asked to make my margarita in a way and he made it his own way, didn't shake at all and told me" that's how we make it here" I just left. The third night we had a roach in our room and I came to front desk. The guy Brian did offer me another room but it was 12:41 at night. Just to let u know they were charging us 200 upgrade fees for each night and didn't compensate us with anything. Now I see there is one mistake in my bill too. Very bad taste. Those who reading this please have faith on Ritz Carlton but not this specific one. Employees here need a lot of training. Very bad taste. Plz try to avoid this Ritz Carlton

This place was extra special and we loved the special attention we received from all of the employees. In fact, we loved it so much we're going back soon and taking the kids for a family vacation! The ocean was beautiful and the sands were wonderful. Prices were good island wide! Very nice and safe place to visit.

Hung out on the beach, ate some food from their grill, had some drinks brought out. Great service good food great time.

Great service, and tons of amenities. Try a relaxing day by the beach, followed by a visit to the spa for a massage and soak, finished with a steak dinner.

Nicest hotel in the San Juan area. Limited food options. Overpriced. Beach and pool area is one of the highlights of this property right next to the San Juan International Airport. Best dinner option BLT -- Puerto Rico best steakhouse.
