As a Ritz-Carlton, I will expect more, like larger room and separate shower room and bath tub. The room was a little bit dated, you will not be disappointed if you just think this is a "Marriott tier" property.
Before Hurricane Maria it was a 5 star hotel. Closed after Maria could open in 2020 as a new 5 star option under Ritz.
What a lovely hotel. The people are so wonderful, helpful and kind. There are many excellent restaurants on the premises, and some very nice jewelry shops, including a tiny Tiffany outpost, where you can buy your wife some great gifts.
A quality Ritz with all the amenities you would expect :)
Without a doubt one of the best hotels in Puerto Rico. A classic in luxury, service and comfort. First sea line. Casino, various restaurants and bars.
Beautiful property with top notch concierge services, restaurants and a sexy casino.
The buffet of the restaurant is the best the bad thing is that the hotel is closed
Had drinks and food at the bar in pool / lounge area of the resort hotel. Service was good and the ambience was very nice from sitting by the pool having a drink and good food. Would do so again for other evenings of my trips
Best service in Puerto Rico that you can have. Only need a rooms renovation or at least carpet renovation. Best engineering staff in the world.
Beautiful, big warm pool. Easy access to beach. Great food service at front bar/ restaurant. Can eat within walking distance at 24/7 restaurant or metropol. Give babies a bag and bib that says Ritz kids. Super cute!
My husband and I vacationed at The Ritz Carlton San Juan in July and enjoyed every day. Excellent resort with exceptional hospitality. I highly recommend you to make The Ritz Carlton your get away resort. A very special thanks to Ms. Nina.
We stayed at the Ritz for the day while waiting for our flight which was late evening. The Ritz was beautiful! The pool was well kept and the private beach was nice as well. We slept under an umbrella and enjoyed a nice lunch while there. The dessert was fantastic. The prices where high ($15 for 1 small drink) but this is to be expected at a hotel of that caliber. We enjoyed our short stay.
Beach access during the day. Nice pool area. Decent casino.
Stayed for the first week in August. Hotel wasn't very full. Never been to a Ritz Carlton before, but knew it was supposed to be upper tier. The lobby staff was nice and friendly. Visually, the hotel looks nice, but the room we stayed in was quite average and comparable to a much less expensive hotel.
One day, room service came in and changed the bed sheets to ones with holes and blood stains. They were also inconsistent with replacing towels. As for furniture, beds were comfortable but way too small. Tables and cabinets were banged up with some pieces missing. Some of the door handles would regularly get stuck. Also, for what you're paying, you'd expect the TV to have more channels, or at least high definition.
The hotel has plenty of restaurants and bars, but be prepared to spend three times your room in food and bar tabs if you eat/drink there. Some of the servers are a little odd, too. We had one waiter that made my whole family feel very uncomfortable with his awkward personality. As for other servers, I know English isn't their first language (usually), but they often forget small requests for drinks or silverware. Still very friendly and personable, though.
Hint: There's a Walgreens within walking distance where you can buy whole bottles Bacardi for $10, as opposed to a single cocktail from the bar for $15.
The pool and beach are beautiful and a great place to hang out during the day. The hotel staff sets up chairs and umbrellas and even brings you clean towels without asking. The outdoor bar has servers walking around that will bring you food and drinks.
The casino is like any other casino, full of slot machine playing old ladies. But a casino is a casino and it'll be enjoyable to those who like gambling.
Lastly, don't miss the opportunity to get out and see what Puerto Rico has to offer. It's a nice tropical island with a lot of history. The hotel has taxis waiting at the front door, just don't expect a complimentary ride.
Find happiness once again. Visit the Ritz Carlton in San Juan Puerto Rico. Booommm
worst hotel ever. I know it's a 5star but specially the PR location, it's not at all worth it. People expect a minimum at a resort and it doesn't meet the expectations for the price paid. the sheets are not good quality, they are full of lindt and the water is cold, it takes forever to get a hot in the shower. Instead guys please go to old san juan area or ashford ave for the best hotels in the most happening areas of PR. ritz carlton location is BS and the treatment is not so good, very very expensive and paid parking.. i ordered tuna cones in the lobby lounge and the quality is so poor that the stomach was upset....... not even comparable to USVI hotels, omg the villas at USVI or any airbnb hotel would be much more convenient and worth than a 5star like ritz
Beautiful facilities. Very helpful staff The place is beautiful with exquisite places to eat.
I have had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz-Carlton - San Juan for business. Very accommodating and wonderful staff. The breakfast offerings make for a great start to any day. I have to say the Michelle from In Room Service made my stay the best. She was absolutely the most friendly person, made my mornings start off on a happy note.
If there is such a thing as a basic Ritz-Carlton, this is it. The rooms were nice, the facilities were okay, the beach was enjoyable. But nothing you won't find in other mid-range hotels. The service, as you'd expect from a RC, was fantastic, and Robert at the beachside bar was entertaining. Given the reasonable price, the value here was outstanding, but if you are looking for a knock your socks off RC experience, look elsewhere.
I was there before the hurricane and only visited the bar and casino. Very nice and convenient to many restaurants and shops.
For almost 1000 a night, you'd better be kissing my feet. A regular Ritz....nothing spectular....I've been to better Ritzs!
Convenient location, beautiful beach and great amenities
Great breakfast and restaurant options for lunch and dinner! Beautiful hotel with direct access to the beach! Wonderful staffs!
Okay guys, read this carefully. I was in San Juan during the 2017 hurricane season with my entire family. We were 8 adults and a baby. The hotel is beautiful and welcoming. San Juan was sunny and warm, we enjoyed the hotel pools and the beach. In just two days, our trip took a turn. A hurricane Irma was gaining its strength and speed, and we couldn t get flights going out of the island.
Our hotel manager, this graceful calm lady, went way beyond her ways to ensure our safety. She moved all the guests to the safer side of the hotel, where the windows were double soundproofed for the nearby airport. She had sand bags reinforce every door and gate. She made that giant hotel into a fortress! Literally a fortress, nothing could penetrate its walls. Most of the staff had to leave to be with their family. But the ones who stayed behind, were all super nice and helpful. We had water, electricity, food, and a sense of community sticking together. A resident chef went way beyond and even made us a birthday cake to celebrate my baby nieces birthday!
We were on our way back to New York before the next two hurricanes that wrecked the island. We took the earliest flight because, we had to get the f out of there. The airport had no electricity, it s a hot and humid and no water! People have been there waiting to get out of there for days. Other passengers on the flight had horrible stories. They did not have food, water, or electricity. And the sound of that hurricane wind crashing trees and roofs haunted them. But I did not hear anything at all. Those windows were sound proof, they could very well be bulletproof. Lol.
Bottom line is this hotel is equipped to survive and ensure safety in any situation. If you were stuck on an island and there is a hurricane on its way to destroy the entire island, you would want to be staying here. And besides the bar is gorgeous and makes a sick grey hound!
Unfortunately the walls at this $750/night hotel are as paper thin as at Super 8. If you can't get a good night's sleep, not much else matters. The service was absolutely top notch, but that was the only exceptional thing about this property. The location is fine (close to the airport and the beach), but not in the greatest of neighborhoods. The room decor and bed comfort is perfectly average ... for a 3.5-star hotel, but it's nothing spectacular. I guess I expected more because of the high price. Nothing was particularly bad, but save your money and stay elsewhere.
My first ritz Carlton experience, the staff and amenities definitely live up to the expectation. Service was impeccable and check in/out was flexible. The staff was also very helpful and recommended really great local restaurants and attractions. During my visit here there were lots of families and tons of children. My only complaint was the breakfast. They charge 35$ per person and it wasn't that impressive of selection.
The Ritz-Carlton has an amazing property and the best Casino in Isla Verde.
Hotel is nice but it s the least nicest Ritz we have stayed at. It was a little messy and needs a good cleaning, the food is good but the hospitality is only ok.
The Ritz Carlton in carolina PR.. Is a very BEAUTIFUL hotel. Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The entire Staff was wonderful. They made you feel welcomed. I loved that the pool is open 24hrs. That made the end of the day relaxing. Because as we were out an about sight seeing all day, we had maybe an hour or 2 to be on the beach,as it closed at 8pm, and my husband an son felt like they needed more swim time so we went to the pool. I enjoyed the BEAUTY of the view of the hotel at night. I would and have already highly recommend this hotel. I hope to be able to stay here again some day.
The hotel staff were excellent. Great room, restraunts, pool, ocean, casino. Overall a really nice getaway.
Was underwhelmed. Expected high end. Didn't expect room that wasn't fully clean or a lamp that didn't work
Very nice and super clean hotel. The service very friendly.
The hotel is amazing. Truly worthy of its name. The staff is kind. It is clean, and there are many things to do. It is a great place to stay while in San Juan!
The BLT restaurant is excellent, impeccable service. Music less appropriate in the evening the other restaurant at the Ritz Il mulino Italian: excellent food, several little culinary touches impeccable staff
Good location, very luxurious, beautiful structure. They need to improve the tv service you can not watch channels are always damaged in service.
Going to the Ritz in isle verde p.r is like visiting family. The casino and it's amenities were the best Ever. I and all my snow bird friends miss it so much.
Good "snack service" at the casino, even after hours.
We chose the Ritz as the base camp for our guests, for our wedding, and could not be more happy with our decision. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Exceptional pool and beach area, as well as all of the amenities you would come to expect from a Ritz Carlton. Of special note, Nashley and Marius, of Guest Services, did an incredible job at accommodating and satisfying our every request. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants the luxury and quality of a great hotel. in a good location for not only travel to the airport, but a quick taxi ride to Old San Juan.
Poolside bar was an awesome was to kill a morning! Great service.
The best hospitality I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived there was an attitude of gratitude for choosing the Ritz Carlton It was our first visit and we are already planning our return.
They bend over backwards to make sure you have a great stay.
This place was beyond my expectations. The staff was helpful courteous and very very very friendly. TOP NOTCH
Great place very relaxing do not come on a budget or you will not get to enjoy The Full Experience. The experience this place offers is amazing great staff and amenities. All other things in between. Also within walking distance to a lot of other places
My husband and I stayed at the Ritz in San Juan for our honeymoon. They treated us like royalty. As soon as we checked in, they welcomed us with guava mimosas and upgraded our room. The room was beautiful and overlooked the pool with great ocean views, too. The private beach was clean and the ocean was turquoise. As soon as you walked on the beach, they brought the towels to your chair and put up the umbrella. We were able to get drinks and food down by the ocean. We took advantage of the casino on site and the restaurants. The service at Il Mulino was absolutely perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back for an anniversary in the future.
Nice hotel, but underwhelming for a Ritz-Carlton. Staff was all very friendly, room was nice but needs a ventilation system for the bathrooms as they steam up easily. 5-star pool.
For the comfort of the rooms, very helpful staff, the restaurants are very good, and good attention.
This place is closed due to remodeling after the damage done by hurricane Maria. The hotel will open again, but I don't know when.
Hotel is overpriced. Service is fair, location is good but the rooms are dated and in need of maintenance.
It is not very glamorous physically like others but the attention is very good
Excellent bar with a top shelf liquor selection and great cocktails. Good tapas and sushi.
Just stayed here for our honeymoon on our first trip to Puerto Rico. The staff was excellent, very courteous and professional. Helped us with several arrangements and made sure our stay was comfortable.
Sitting on its own stretch of beach, we didn't have to go anywhere to enjoy some time in the sun. The food was great and the menu had plenty of options. There were also several dining options nearby within walking distance as well as a pharmacy and grocery store if needed. Old San Juan was a 7 minute Uber ride away for access to a plethora of food and drink spots.
Only suggestions I may have is to update the rooms. They seemed a bit dated, especially by Ritz standards. While they upgraded us to a junior suite with pool and ocean view, the windows were pretty dirty on the outside so our view was compromised.
Overall, we'd definitely stay there again if we decided to stay in that area. Special thanks to Dominick, Abraham, Jean Pierre, and Carlos for their help during our stay.
It's okay. Very clean but built on old style. I'm in Jr Suite without a balcony. The suites in Aruba have huge balconies..I was looking forward to that and was disappointed
Facility is kept in excellent condition and is in a comfortable area with a beautiful beach. Restaurants and casino are at top level
Nice and clean very friendly staff restaurants are great they have a speakeasy in the place that's fabulous
This hotel was actually better than expected. The service at the front desk was amazing, we got there about 5am and they let us check in super early. Thankfully they had rooms available at that time. I was worried we would have to check in at the regular time.
The hotel is very nicely decorated, there is art everywhere. It definitely looks upscale. Yeah, I guess the Tiffany & co store downstairs helps a litttle. There is also a casino and several restaurants on the first floor.
They have people who get your towel and umbrella at the pool and the beach. They were all super nice.
I really liked this hotel and although it is expensive I think it's worth it. The food was good and the rooms were nice and spacious. Yes, I will stay again!
P.s. order the coconut mojito at the beach or the pool. You will thank me!! Yummmm
