Another really great hotel in Banff! Went up for a girls weekend and took advantage of the spa services and pool. The lobby area is really cozy and a wonderful spot to kick back after a day of Banff'ing, have a drink and review the day. The room was well appointed and big enough for the 3 of us to stay in comfortably for the nights we were there. Would definitely go back!

Stayed for two nights, room was spacious, clean with beautiful views.
We went down for dinner to primrose - food was very bland and overpriced. We made the the mistake of ordering room service from there again, for breakfast. Food was cold and again tasteless. Cups were stained, hair on the table - definitely not worth the $80 ...
The spa was fully booked for massages.
During check out - no one asked how our stay was. Definitely not worth it.

My husband and I wanted to have a little mountain getaway and when we started looking for hotels in and around Banff I couldn't believe that we were able to get a room at The Rimrock at a comparable price to the other hotels in the area. I always thought The Rimrock was out of reach for us and our price point! We were also able to take advantage of their promotion where breakfast at The Primrose Restaurant in the hotel was included! This added major value! The service was excellent. I had a splitting headache just after 11PM and we didn't have any Advil so when my husband went to check with the front desk they didn't hesitate to open the gift shop to allow us to get some medicine! The bed was really comfortable and the room was big, bright and clean. The hotel was also very quiet. We loved the pool and hot tub that was in the hotel as well! We would 100% stay here again. The only downside is that you have to pay for parking, which if you were staying for an extended period of time would really add up and there is no where else you can park so you only have 2 options (Park yourself for $18 or valet for $32 each is per night). However, they did sign me up for a membership so next time we stay it would be 50% off of parking. Overall we had a great visit and left feeling refreshed!

This is a rundown hotel that needs serious upgrades. We opted to stay here for our anniversary because they gave 30% off for frontline workers. We previously booked at a Marriott hotel that was priced the same and much newer - I regret not sticking with that one. Here s our complaint: the room was outdated and in need of repairs. Our AC was not working so our room was 23 degrees - it felt like a desert. We called the front desk twice and they sent an on-site engineer to check our AC. The AC could not be fixed so they offered a portable AC that was very noisy. The portable AC stopped working after half an hour because it was held up by tape on the window. So we got no sleep at all. The only thing giving them the 1 star is that they have great restaurants in the hotel and the engineer they sent up was very nice. You would think they would offer us a new room or a discount for the inconvenience but they didn t. If I m paying over $500 to stay 2 nights at your hotel (that s discounted too!), I m expecting exceptional service. You are supposed to be a top rated hotel and I definitely did not experience that. I ve stayed at budget hotels and I ve had better service and have had nicer facilities. Don t book here unless you have money to throw around and don t mind staying at a mediocre hotel. We have stayed at Fairmont and I recommend that over this hotel - it s old too but at least their AC is working, they have nicer facilities and is well kept. We have also stayed at the Malcom in Canmore if you don t mind being outside of Banff - much newer and great service.

Words cannot describe the pure luxury and class of this wonderful hotel.
My only criticism would be having to pay for parking which wasn't exactly cheap for a 24 hour period. There us literally nothing else up the hill near the hotel so guests have no choice other than to park here so this is a negative mark against the hotel.
On a very positive note the free bus into town is very regular runs until late so makes going out stress free.
The hotel itself has so much to offer anyway you could spend a couple of days without going anywhere and not get bored. Lovely friendly staff, the young English lad from South London was a delightful addition to the staff also the young German chap very helpful and friendly thank you for your advice.

Classy elegant hotel that is beginning to need an update. The service was first rate from all staff and we had a wonderful time dining at Eden. Views from the premium rooms are outstanding. The shower tub however is a bit dated and the water temperature was spotty. Some amenities were lacking. We would consider returning if the rates stay affordable.

Rooms were not ready during check in time. Food was left in the fridge, there was blood on some of the couches when we turned over the pillow. Also, paid 500$ for a five star dinner to be served the smallest serving on a plate. Ive never seen a hotel not carry umbrellas. When we stayed at the fairmont the cleanliness and customer service was far more superior

We took the gondola during the time when the area was covered with smoke so visibility was limited. However, the ride was worth it and the view from the top was interesting but limited. The only criticism I have is the cost of the gondola was a little steep.

A very nice hotel. Perhaps a little pricey compared to other options, but it could also be due to staying overnight on New Year's Eve. Service was great, the restaurant is also very good, and it's within walking distance of the hotspring!

The Grandview room was stunning and offered fantastic views of Banff and the surrounding mountains. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the Divas lounge was excellent. The primerose and room service food quality was sub-par for the price. Sound travels between rooms fairly easily which could be an issue.

Beautiful hotel with a remarkable view. Service on all fronts was impeccable. Complimentary bus pass to Banff centre was a bonus given how far up you are I. The mountains. Really loved the architecture, the sort of old world feel to common spaces was a neat contrast to the modern rooms. Would absolutely stay there again in a heartbeat!

Went on a packed day, only room available was one right beside the balcony to the dining hall. No privacy because people on the balcony can see inside if u have the windows open.. kinda defeats the purpose of having such a since view from the hotel. But I'm sure the experience will be different off peak season, cuz staff there are wonderful

Amazing scenery, amazing service. The pool and hot tub were great. The staff is super friendly. The complementary bus service made it super easy to go into the village to enjoy drinks and lunch, and get back for a soak and drinks and dinner.

The rooms are a good size. Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. There is a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. The buffet breakfast was amazing. The hotel provides it's guests with complimentary bus tickets to go back and forth to town. The parks provides complimentary travel to and from Lake Minnewanka.

Room of Bow valley view was the best.

Room of Bow valley view was the best.
The rooms are also large and beautiful.
The Sulfur Mountain Gondola platform is just a short distance away.
Egg Benedict for breakfast, Crock Musshu was very delicious!
I got a free pass card for the Rome bus, so it was convenient to get to Banff. It is a hotel that I want to repeat.

Older property but the staff take attention of the guests. My only negative was there was not a lot of open space, all three restaurants are across from the lobby so it always felt busy and not tranquil. The Eden restaurant was a treat and The service was unmatched.

Not worth the price! Don't eat at the hotel. Food is ridiculously over priced for the quality (Eden excluded as I wasn't willing to pay THAT much money to feel as disappointed as I did at the Larkspur and Primrose). Had a fire incident and no hotel staff anywhere to guide us and no signage letting us know where to go. Evacuated into the cold night with no idea or direction of where to go. Front Desk Manager didn't take ANY ownership other than to say we weren't told to evacuate (when the alarm clearly flipped into evacuate the building). There seems to be a disconnect between staff and management. Not at all worth the price considering the lack of attention to detail which you would not expect to see at these prices! They take advantage of the view which means unsuspecting tourists get taken advantage of!

By far one of the best hotels I ve ever stayed at, everything about it is magical and if you were going for an anniversary or something big I recommend upgrading to the balcony in the fireplace not once do I ever question and spending that amount of money per night

Super hotel to stay for a few days. Magnificent views from the bar/lounge although can get very busy. Great view of the Mountains from our bedroom. Courtesy bus pass to get into town was a nice touch. Express checkout also useful. Two parking options available - do it yourself or valet.

Arrived by car and found parking to be $20 a day. Pretty steep charge, and unlike other hotels, location means you have no choice but to pay for it. Not great.

Had a reservation for a two queen bed room, and asked for a king bed instead. Was told this was technically a higher room category and would have an extra charge. Of course well within the hotel's right, but left a sour taste in my mouth.

Hotel didn't have any phone chargers or international power adaptors to borrow. Found this fairly unacceptable of a mid-high end full service hotel, given 99% of Hampton Inns have these.

Finally, woke up with what appears to be flea or bed bug bites all over my body.

The Rimeock is a lovely hotel. The rooms were spacious with a gorgeous view. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The only complaint that I had was extremely soft pillows made for sore necks when we woke up the next morning. I consider that a small complaint and would stay there again.

This property sits nestled on the side of a mountain in beautiful Banff, Alberta. The rooms are upscale, as are the available services, including three different eating options, but the stunning views are what truly sets the place apart. I came here on business, but would certainly return for pleasure if the opportunity arises.

One of my worst experiences. At the chech-in they told me that I reserved a standard view and so I get a blocked view!!! And they suggested that I pay $50 to upgrade to a room with a view. I did not know that the "standard view" means fully blocked view surrounded by huge trees. It felt like prison and I ask them to change my room. They did so and gave me a room with parking lot view!!! Beside this, their internet is so slow and you have to pay if you want to access high speed internet. Their pool is so small, the size of a motel pool. And you have to pay for parking between 16-30. They ask you to pay for every service. All in all, this place does not worth even a quarter of the money that you pay for and I never recommend it to anyone.

This is a small resort style hotel with amazing mountain views. We have been coming here anually for over 20 years. This time we brought our small dog and booked a pet friendly room. A large dog bed and dog dishes (with a treat) were provided in the room. We were pleasantly suprised by the amazing mountain view as we had assumed we would have a non view room. All of the pet friendly rooms are on the same floor and wing. The staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating of our dog. They even looked after her for a couple of hours while we went for dinner. Food and beverage service is normally good, but unfortunately we were there when the main dining room was closed and there was a staff xmas party. The lounge was hit hard by diners and was understaffed to handle the rush. While it did take a long time to be served, the meal was very good. Despite this one short coming, the Rimrock is still our favorite Banff hotel.

My wife and I went for our anniversary. The mattress felt was the cheapest mattress that you could buy. After the first sleep our backs heart a lot. We went to the bathtub and we realized that dirt and bubbles very gross came out from the bathtub.
For the amount of money that I pay was the worst experience in a hotel.
I wanted to give to my wife the best 17 anniversary ever but the Rimrock showed us that it can be ruined by a hotel.
Please don't go if you want to sleep in a good mattress and a good bathtub.
Oh I told to the reservation guy and he said sorry and he gave me a $20 discount. It was insulted it.
I will post some pictures later.

Valet was horrible, no help so we self parked. Check in personnel was great. In room dining was fabulous, restaurant staff was fabulous, but the rooms are dated. The jacuzzi tubs are filthy and the carpets are very worn. I use to love this hotel but may reconsider in the future. I don t feel like I ve got what I ve paid for.

Very disappointed with this hotel! First was the parking not included in overpriced room, after we paid for a parking spot, there was no spots available, found one after 30 min.
In room you have to pay $3.50 for a bottle of water, and there's mentioned a mini bar which is just an empty fridge :)). The view was only nice thing in this hotel.

The Rimrock Hotel is a beautiful hotel and a great place for a work retreat or a get away from city life. The pool facilities are excellent and fitness center looks really nice, I wish I brought my workout gear. It was a little expensive for my taste, but I guess that is what is expected in such a beautiful surrounding.

Just Meh. The location is beautiful, convenient access to the Hot Springs, Gondola & easy access to get downtown via the public transit bus that runs right out front. The staff we dealt with were largely very friendly and helpful, especially the doormen & staff at the Primrose restaurant.

The hotel is a lot to take in, it's got wings, so if you are in the wrong elevator, you aren't getting where you wanted to. It's grand but... old. Everything just felt dated. If you look around quickly you will think everything is very nicely appointed - look closer and you see the age, wear & tear on the place. Elevators are run down, carpets are stained, lifting and dirty looking, walls are dented, surfaces are pitted and dusty. The Lounge off the main lobby is nice, the massive fire place is impressive and a nice touch - service there left something to be desired though, spent a long time there waiting to be acknowledged and even longer to get our very over priced drinks.

They do seem to nickle & dime you for everything - I could not believe we had to pay for parking, non-valet at that, considering the price per night you pay. Our first room was not as clean as I would have liked, I found several long black hairs in the bed when I pulled the covers back, dust all over, bathroom tub had hair in it and when I turned on the tap immediately suds and brown water filled the tub which I assume is from the tub not draining properly so water pools and whatever is in it dries. Turned me off, no bath.

There was an incident in our room that led to us having to change - lets just say, don't open your window in your room no matter how many others you can see out your view that are open. They billed our replacement room as an "upgrade" that would be a premium view and a nicer room than our original (a King standard). The room had 2 queen beds instead, which fine, she warned us - but the room was not nearly as nice. LESS window, basically the same view we had before, just from a floor lower, and the bathroom was much smaller. It was a disappointment but given we were only there one more night, not worth complaining.

Overall, we left saying it was a decent weekend BUT for what we paid, I expected to basically float home after an AMAZING stay. Just not sure I would make the budget to stay here again, so many other options in the area for much less, or better suited to the costs.
