Very good hotel near the gondola. Amazing view of the valley.
My spouse and I enjoyed a mid-week stay with a valley mountain view room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the primary dining rooms are currently closed mid-week. There is a nice path just downhill (next to the first 60km sign), that you can take to the Banff Springs for dinner.
The upside of this stay was watching the mountains change colour with the rising sun. We enjoyed two fabulous in room breakfasts accompanied by some excellent espresso and a coffee carafe. This am ritual turned into one of our trip highlights.
Amazing place in the mountains. Friendly staff. Great room service.
This place has beautiful views but is very expensive and far from town. They also nickel and dime you on the little things. $20 a day for parking, if you want the good WiFi you gotta pay for it. For the price I paid for a room I expect those things to be included.
Beautiful hotel! The spa is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Always a nice stay. Property is very nice and rooms are very traditional. A few minutes drive away from downtown banff, but close to the hot springs (you could walk there if you wanted)
Another great hotel with great room. Clean and comfortable. Loved the soft and super white linen
Fantastic hotel. Beautiful location and 1st class staff. Would highly recommend.
Service was amazing. Oh and the beds are heavenly. A beautiful hotel!
Beautiful place! Nice clean rooms with amazing views, nice pool and sauna. Didn't use the gym but it looked like it had good space and everything you'd need. Fantastic breakfast with more beautiful views and an amazing 20s style lounge with excellent food and service! Worth the money. Every bit of it.
Excellent hotel, fantastic location with beautiful scenery. Very near hotsprings. Free bus service to town. Excellent Restaurant with delicious food that caters very well with dietary requirements.
The room was great, and the hotel itself is in a gorgeous location with lots to do. The architecture and design is beautiful, and the staff are very accommodating. But for an establishment that prides itself on its kitchen and food, it leaves a lot to be desired. Primrose restaurant in the lower level completely messed up both mine and my wife's meals. The lamb that is described so well in the menu was executed poorly at best, and sent nearly blue rare to my table when I had asked for medium. My wife's pasta tasted like a watery mess. Our server was great and extremely understanding, but the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired based on what the menu prices were.
Pleasant hotel slightly outskirts of Banff town. Only one road to the hotel, on the way to gondola, so might get jammed in heavy traffic on weekends.
Our Room wasn t clean very dusty and toilet very dirty .
Access says it all . Just below the hot springs 3 min walk and gondola 5 min walk. Downtown is by bus leaves every 20 mins passes given by the hotel. Very friendly staff will go out of their way to help you. Drawbacks .. rooms could use a little touch up and the spa needs to upgrade . Men's locker room had only shampoo and conditioner that's it. No soap so showering after the nice hot tub was not pleasant .. all on all would return and recommend
Amazing view and friendly staff but I wouldn't call it a 5 star because the rooms are not clean. A lot of dust on everything, looks like the edges and corners hadn't been vacuumed for a few years. I went to get some ice and noticed an out of order sign, to call customer service to get ice, I did that and waited an hour until I went to see if the ice machine was really down. I was able to get ice, I guess they just don't want you to. With them telling me they would bring the ice and never did and with the layer of dust on everything I felt like I was in a $30 per night hotel
This review is for the PRIMROSE RESTAURANT in the hotel. Excellent food and excellent service!!!! Can t say I love the atmosphere nor the (outdated) decor, but I would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
The staff are very welcoming and helpful. A beautiful hotel with very comfy beds and large rooms. It's a little bit out of town, but they provide you with a free bus pass to get into to town. I would definitely stay here again.
The design is very beautiful. The lobby is on the 6th floor and the rooms are on lower floors that give a beautiful view.
Outstanding hotel. The higher floors have incredible views.
The view from our room was great! All staff were friendly. Overall we had a nice stay, however, the pool was too cold and the parkade and hallways were way too hot. There is no need for the heat cranked in the garage when it s 10 outside. It was beyond uncomfortable. If it was -30 it probably would have been ok.
I've been going to the Rimrock hotel for the past 9 years for a company Christmas party. The food for dinner is always "ok" at best. And this year there was no hot water the next morning. I understand that things happen that are beyond the control of the hotel staff, so I forgive the hot water situation. However I feel like the hotel is a little overpriced for what you get there.
Horrible. $350 per night for a view of the parking garage and they we booked a room with a partially obstructed view. Wish I could post a photo of the obstruction. Travel 3000 miles for a view of a concrete wall with truly too little disclosure. Book elsewhere.
One of the best hotel/resorts in Banff. Epic views. Outstanding service.
Beautiful hotel and excellent staff, enjoyed our stay here
Beautiful view, beautiful location. It's right next to the hot springs and gondola so there's no need to drive
Food was good, if uninspired. Ballroom was spacious. Staff were excellent. Great venue.
Natural gorgeous views of the mountains. Great service, friendly and helpful staff, great food. Loved it!
One of the first truly luxurious resorts I have stayed at. Great time
Really cool hotel, needs to be upgraded, desperately.
Unbelievable views in BANFF! Also had their $300 martini... worth it!
Love the large windows and the views of the premium rooms! And of course the lobby s massive windows and beautiful view! Love staying here! The exterior; however can use an upgrade.
The food was out of this world. The scenery was eye popping
What a great hotel, can't beat the views and lots of options for dining. If you can afford it, highly recommend
The hotel staff are generally young but very responsive, polite and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed with a mountain spectacular view. The HVAC could use an upgrade. The hotel has a pool with hot tub and steam room. The health spa has a fair workout room with a mix of gear including free weights. There is even a squash court. All in all a great place to stay.
I had breakfast from the buffet and it was very good but very expensive for what you got. Where they excelled was the service. Our waitress Stephanie was spectacular.
Normally out of our price range but wanted to treat ourselves. Aesthetically nice however our view was of some trees and the road ...could have stayed home for that. Mattress and pillows very hard. Had a nice massage at the spa that the bed did not compliment, poor nights sleep. Broken light in entry way of room , they comped our parking - which is laughable that one pays for anyway. Honestly won t be back, I ve lived in the area my whole life and this was the worst experiences, better deals in Banff with equal if not better quality.
My wife and I had an absolutely magical time here. The staff made us feel completely at home and the views cannot be compared to any other hotel. Nestled in a forest atop a mountain surrounded by snow crested peaks with Banff a short drive away this place is just awesome. We will be back.
Really enjoyed our stay. Definitely will be coming back!
Rimrock Resort was a perfect spot for our vacation and the setting in the mountains was beyond our exceptions. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Rooms are large with comfy beds and superior linens. Side trips in the area are the very best, so don't miss this aspect. Shopping and dining at the resort and in Banff was great!

Eden restaurant is a class apart in fine dining experience.
It was an amazing experience, we enjoyed everything.
The room is big but the bed is too soft and the bed is not comfortable. The bathroom is a bit old. The dust is not cleaned. The view is also good. It s only to see the scenery. This time, the next time you come to banff, you won t stay again. Piece
Wonderful view from our room! Classy but comfy/cozy atmosphere. Amazing restaurant, Eden, as well!
I've driven by the Rimrock countless times on my way to the hot pools but finally had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful hotel as my wife was attending a conference there. And, better yet, we could bring our dog as the Rimrock is pet-friendly. Have to say we enjoyed our stay very much. Apparently, the conference was great, but the dog and I had a lot more fun hiking the trails around the hotel, laying in late in our comfortable beds (even a dog bed is provided) and then heading out for some cross country skiing. Great place to stay and relax, canine & humans!
The limited vies from the rooms are actually very good. Very nice friendly staff.
The room is good. The parking is a mess. Yesterday and today very hard to find a spot, I think they sold parking more than the spots available and that s not fair and no excuse for that.
When you spend 400 a night and you have stains in your bed that look like blood, and the manager doesn't even address the problem timely!
Spent this last Friday at The Rimrock and It was pretty good. The check in process took about half an hour though, wish they had a speedier process to get people in their room during the busy times. But the customer service was great and even got us a king room. The room it self was nice, clean and quiet. Although they could use some updating and a MUCH softer bed. We will be back again
A very nice spot with good amenities. The only unpleasant part was the $80 price increase in the room rate the second night that we were not told about until check out. It.is Banff, so nothing is cheap, but not sure the cost equals value here.
Excellent service. Great rooms. Was much more reasonably priced than I thought it would be.
Excellent hotel, awesome views, comfortable, clean and peaceful. Loved it!
Beautiful hotel and a wonderful view of the mountains.
Wife an I love this place. Room was huge and amazing amenities inside it. Awesome views, great service. Had supper at the Primrose. Not cheap but delicious. Would definitely come back.
Good check in with underground parking always a plus in the winter. Beautiful rims with excellent views. Close to the Banff hot springs and gondola.
A great hotel with really excellent and helpful staff. A really pleasant stay, large rooms and very comfortable beds. The hotel is very dated and would benifit from a makeover.
So the only things keeping this from 5 star is a few small but significant things. First.... piano player in lounge was consistently on the loud side. We actually had to raise our voices amd strain to hear.... no need for that st all. Eden restaurant appears to be top notch... but apparently no hope of getting in for weeks as its booked... would have been good to know when making reservations. Other restaurant was ok... but not 4 or 5 star. Rooms and staff are awesome. The check in was great and all the staff at every spot was super nice.
Absolutely gorgeous. Everything you want, centralized. Food, entertainment, views and comfort!
Views from the room is stunning!..imprinted on the Sub conciousness!
Amazing service.. room was clean. Amazing view from my room
Beautiful hotel with breath taking views. Restaurants are delicious. Friendly staff, one of which took us up to the infinity suite so we could get pictures on the amazing balcony that overlooks Banff.
This last visit did not compare to last visit at all. I understand covid makes things more difficult but no communication. Booked a package for breakfast, vever told how it worked till i called. Asked how check out worked and was told.to.leave keys in room. Went leave package couldn't get out. Never received final bill till I emailed a few days later.
A beautiful setting & hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Great service.
I have to say The Rimrock Resort Hotel, is way better than the fairmont! The location is wonderful especially since it s so close to the gondola and the hot springs. This is usually my go to hotel when I want to be pampered and treated like royalty!
This las trip was not so good! From check in to check out they all seemed like they where not happy to have us! I felt like I was an inconvenience to have at the hotel.
The host at Eden insulted me when he attempted to make a joke about my age as I arrived for my birthday dinner!
I asked about the Italian pino Grigio and it was sold out, I was offered a wine from BC, which was not the same.
The kobi beef was not cooked properly!
When I made the reservations for my birthday I told reservations that It was for my birthday and I wanted a table near the window, and we received a table with wooden chairs (as everyone else in the place had the Queen Anne chairs), and our table was near the kitchen (not fun listening to the kitchen noises throughout my meal).
I am so very disappointed the experience ruined my birthday!
Eden used to be my favourite restaurant after the experience on my birthday I will not be returning!
The view from the room do not come close to the website. A premium room with unobstructed mountain view gives you a narrow view of mountain with high trees and buildings on either side...
Expensive, not worth it.
Had an awesome overall experience. All hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant. Room was clean,
I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Banff
Beautiful hotel. Amazing views!
My husband and I spent a few nights here on our honeymoon. We loved the bus into Banff and also enjoyed the quick hike into Banff from the hotel.
We were also able to enjoy a couple massage and the spa was great.
The Rimrock is a superb hotel! It is set in the forest and mountains very close to the Banff hot springs. I came for a conference and found the Rimrock a perfect spot - both to prepare for the conference and to relax afterward. The staff are pros, the space has everything you need and is kept very clean and well organized. Highly recommended.
