I know this is going to sound like a first world problem knock but the only negative thing I have to say about this place is that their response to complaints is super random.

Housekeeping knocked on our door one morning and as I was walking to the door they keyed into the room. The housekeeper was apologetic and I understood that it was an honest mistake because I didn't yell a response to the knock. None the less they sent a fruit plate with a very apologetic note, and called twice during our stay to ask if anything else was wrong, and to apologize again. In my opinion it was a bit over the top for a simple mistake. the housekeeper had apologized for the intrusion and that really should have been the end of it but it felt like they were tripping over themselves to make amends that were really unwarranted.

Then later in our stay my wife ordered room service. It arrived half an hour later than they said it would and the food was luke warm. They called to ask how the food was, my wife told them the problem. They apologized, but it wasn't until we had checked out that we got a phone call offering us 30% off room service the next time we booked. We didnt ask for this they just offered it instead of taking it off our bill this time or better yet sending hot food the night of. It was just wierd in contrast to the tripping over themselves that they did when the housekeeper walked in. In case the Rimrock is reading this, sometimes a quick apology that is underwhelming is better than a drawn out one that is overblown.

Aside from that if you've made it this far, it's a nice quiet mountain resort, the view is good but spend the extra to get a room on the out facing side of the hall as all the inward rooms face the opposite wing and are visible to the restaurant patio which can be a bit awkward. The beds are nice, the fixtures are nice, the staff that you meet in the hall and at the front desk are very friendly and professional, and most of all its quiet with a great view, and just a short walk to the sulphur mountain gondola. The brunch buffet is very nice and has some really good potted yogurts that are quite nice.

Please note that as of our trip the pool was not open due to COVID, check with them before you go if you are wanting to swim while you are there.

We stayed here for a night on Labour Day weekend, I felt good vibes on this hotel, love the aura, the backdrop from my hotel room is spectacular, just a perfect getaway for my family, on day of arrival, mountain is breathtaking view then here comes the fog & snow on following morning, covering the mountain, it is an awe inspiring moment to see this incredibly beautiful sight of nature, we absolutely enjoyed our stay, everything went well from warm greetings upon arrival, front reception is very organize, welcomed us with a big smile, professional and this is exactly what I m always looking forward staying in a hotel with positivity, relaxation & serenity, we will come back 100%, thank you for these beautiful memories.

An amazing place to stay! I would recomened this incredible hotel to everyone. It is pricey but you get what you pay for; gorgeous views, a on site spa, clean rooms and hotel and helpful and pleasant staff.
The selection of onsite restaurants is good though expensive but it is easy to get into town since they provide a complementary bus pass.
It is also walking distance from the hot springs and sulphur mountain gondola.

Our favorite place to stay when in Banff. It's out of town and away from the busy Banff Ave. Squash courts, pool, large hot tub, steam room, fitness facility, spa, ice rink in the winter. Delicious restaurants and always great service. Also located right beside the upper hot springs!

The hotel as a building is first class, however unfortunately the first room we were given was unacceptable - on a low floor, the only view was overlooking the coach "pull in" and a public waiting area for the bus services,
We asked for another room, the check in person said it was a standard room we had booked and that we shoukd take it up any problem with our travel agent, I pointed out that I had looked at reviews of the hotel pictures on the hotel website and none of the standard rooms advertised had that type of view so I had thought it unnecessary to enquire about upgrades, they then changed or room.

The first night of the stay we "ate in" at the Larkspur Restaurant, NOT HAPPY, its the only restaurant I have ever been in that brought my main dish before I had finished my appetizer! When I pointed out that I had not finished (still eating) the server said the kitchen was quiet and so "had got a little ahead of its self" !!!! The main was still brought and I surrendered my unfinished appetizer. The server then (knowing I was not happy) avoided our table, no water refills etc.
The car park is over priced, $18 a day or $32 a day valet parking (Its only 50 meters away! The swimming pool is too cold.
On our second day, not toiletries replenished and no replacement milk for coffee/tea making, had to ask for more.
All in all, as us Brits say the hotel is:
"Fur coat and no Knickers"

Very clean rooms and professional staff. Premises were lovely and our room had beautiful views of the mountain valley. The food at our wedding was delicious. We also had the breakfast buffet at the Primrose dining room which was also excellent.

The prices are getting out of control. I stayed in a lot nicer hotels then this for far cheaper. how do they expect typical family of 3 or 4 to take their family out for a few days with outrageous prices?

I don t give praise lightly, fortunately everything about Rimrock Resort Hotel was exclusive. It is excellent hotel and the property kept extremely clean.
The Christmas decorations brought us the holiday spirit. The hotel was warm and cozy. Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We booked to dine at Eden on a open table online. Something went wrong with our booking and seemed like we ve never been booked for Eden. We showed the concierge our confirmation email, but he couldn t find our reservation for 7.30pm in a system. However, the concierge staff personally went to the kitchen to talk to a chef if he can squeeze us in at a different time. The staff came back with a little hope saying that we should go to our room and he will call us when he hears back from the kitchen. Eden was booked solid for the time of our reservation (7.30pm), so we agree to have our dinner late if they can find open table for us.
We went to our room which was vey cozy. The room was spacious, stylish and super clean. We even enjoyed having our house robes. While getting ready to go to a pool for swimming and sure enough we received a call that we can have our dinner at Eden at 9.30pm. It was late for my 8 year old niece to wait, but we decided to wait anyway.
By 9.20pm, my family and I arrived at Eden. The area was spacious and one of the best that I have experienced. We ve been seated and service started with champagne cart followed by two other servers for our starter, drinks and main dish. The food was beyond our imagination and great value for the money we ve paid. Every single bite was mouth watering. The service was excellent. We ve been treated like royalty and never wanted to leave. After our dinner, Chad took us to the kitchen to greet the chefs who prepared our meal.

The hotel was very busy with wedding and other Christmas occasion, but we enjoyed every bit of the stay. After our recent stay we can highly recommend this hotel. It is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in and the food is first class. You will not be disappointed if you choose this hotel and your every need will be catered for by the staff.

I had only minor issue finding a spot for parking, but our stay at Rimrock Resort Hotel was epic. We ll definitely stay here again when visiting the area and would recommended to others.

Beautiful property and amazing staff. Such a welcoming environment they've created here and would have given 5 starts except for the strong kitchen/grease smell especially in the parking lot. Our room on the 9th floor also had this strong smell and after a chemical type air cleaner we had to move to the road side of the hotel as they're pretty full. Strangely enough not smell in hallway or the room we moved to. I wonder if they use the heat generated from the kitchen to heat the pakade. Other than this we love it here and will try to find parking outside instead.

Truth be told, I'm still so high on Banff that this is likely a highly biased review. All kidding aside though, this is a great little hotel with pretty good in-house dining options and a fantastic location right on the Sulphur mountain, 5 mins walk to the gondolas, hot springs etc. Good service too, and the rooms are spacious and nice, with gorgeous mountainsl views. I also heard the spa / pool area is nice, although didn't get a chance to check it out.

Beautiful hotel, very clean. Staff are lovely, We dined twice at the Primrose dinning room, supper was very good, portions were reasonable. The only reason I gave 3 stars, is because the bed linens were not the most comfortable to sleep in, We were unable to get any quality sleep during our 2 night stay. Which was a shame because the beds were very comfortable. I would love to come back here, but if I m going to pay that much a night, I expect the linens to be the same level of all the other services they provide.

The rooms are good. The view is amazing. The food is not good. They charged me extra $111.18 for extra adult fee that shouldn't have been charged (it was fully paid at reservation by hotels.ca). I discussed it at checkout and they removed it. Then they charged it again on my account without my permission. They refunded after I called and sent a few emails, but this is not ok, because if I had not gone through my credit card bill details I could not figure out they did this. I also do not like to spend this much time on the phone and email just to get back my money.

My fiance and I visited the Rimrock from the 19th of december to the 1st of Jan and left incredibly happy with the experience. Impeccable service, concierge go out of their way to ensure you have a great time.
Hotel has amazing views, and incredibly accomodating with requests.
Food available in hotel is top quality too, highly reccomend the Larkspur lounge. We had christmas dinner at the primrose and left happy.
Overall the hotel is beautiful, rustic and what you expect from a winter getaway. Staff are accomodating, helpful and great to interact with. Would reccomend to anyone who asked.

A beautiful place on the side of a mountain with a awesome views and surrounded by woods. We were advised by some of the staff if we walked on the trails to have bear spray with us. The breakfast buffet was delicious with omelets made to order. Dinner was $$$$ but worth it. Over all a really nice place to stay

Amazing hospitality and friendly service. All the staff members were so genuine and helpful. Special thanks to Leah, Steven, Vasim, Nicole, and Zora for making our experience truly memorable. we highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Banff. Travelling during a pandemic is not easy but the hotel did an amazing job maintaining cleanliness and social distancing rules.

Had dinner at Eden and it was the best! We did the Chefs tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was amazing. Ate things I might not normally tried and the presentation, flavors and overall experience exceeded expectations. Service was even better! Everyone from the manager Chad, waiter Keith, Sommolier Benoit & server Gustavo all made our nite the best!!

$600 per night is a little much for the level of service here. Make sure you ask for a room with a West facing window or you will be disappointed with the view. 3 star hotel in a 5 star location.

Beautiful and large resort located in upper Banff area.

Check in was a breeze and rooms/beds were super comfortable for a good nights rest. The indoor pool/hot tub is large enough for at least 50 people but was super crowded during the time we visited.

Numerous restaurants and a few lounges located within the resort so you don't have to drive all the way down into banff downtown to grab a bite.

Definately worth the stay at this resort, only downside was the $22 parking per day.

View from the room was good and it was expected as we booked a premium room, but our Air conditioning was not working. Me and my fiancee was unable to sleep one of the two nights we stayed. The next day a technician came and fixed the issue and for the inconvenience the hotel offered me 5% discount, for which I laughed.

I don't know how the hotel management compares to having a sleepless night during vacation compared to 5% discount for a luxurious hotel.

The room amenities are a joke. We had to move into 3 different rooms because none had working AC or Fan control. Their engineering couldn't fix it and the hotel did nothing further to resolve the issue. We had to sleep with all of the windows open in the room in the middle of winter just to keep the room cool.

Not only is this one of the most expensive hotels in Banff but it has the worst service. We used the valet service but they made us unload our bags and bring them to the room ourselves (same thing again on check out). They put us and our baby next to a room with a loud party, so we couldn't sleep. They wouldn't resolve this problem despite repeated complaints into the early hours of the morning. Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel. You'll get better service at a Holiday Inn or Best Western.

The Rimrock Resort Hotel is a AAA/CAA Four Diamond Hotel located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and Banff, with that you would think the service would be topnotch. It was good but not great but I will get to that later. First lets talk about price. I rented a premium view with king size bed for $313 not inculding taxes,
which is fine. However when getting back from a hike I was taking shower and the tub seemed to not drain at first. I thought that the drain was closed but that was not the case. By the time I finished showering the tub was almost half full of water which is kind of gross but I thought maybe that is just me. The rooms are clean but out of date and banged up. Actually many parts of the hotel were in rough shape. The food here, however, is excellent. The only disappointment with regard to food was meat plate and cheese plate. Both cost $20. They were good but lacked meat and cheese. This was funny since that is why we ordered it but other then that the food was great. One of the other disappointing things were the fire pits outside. The idea is good but as we are in covid being clean is important . There were two seats which were covered in dishes and food dirty. Since they were dirty and not cleaned, we passed using this area which was a shame because it was beautiful night. So finally, the customer service. I said it was good not great because when I explained our experience, they asked if we told anyone and said that was too bad-have a great day. I guess they think that was all good. So for a Diamond 4 star hotel it didn't measure up. That's why I rated 3 out of 5 stars.

Amazing! Every! Single! Time ! They never disappoint here. Clean and extra clean in these times of Covid. Couldn't ask for more really. So much attention to detail. Friendly, courteous staff that go above and beyond with each interaction. We had the best time.

It was my first time staying at the Rimrock Hotel and I enjoyed it! The location is superb as it is close to the gondola, Upper Hot Springs, and downtown. The room I had was nicely appointed with stunning mountain views. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Primrose.

The stay at the Rimrock was an experience, with several positives and some negatives. This was definitely a splurge for us, and the value overall isn t exceptional. I think for the rate paid my expectations were higher.

Positives:
-The seclusive location is a plus
-room had a view
-comfortable beds
-room service meals were reasonably priced and pleasant. Attendants were respectful
-when our tv wasn t working there was someone to assist within minutes and the maintenance worker was kind and efficient
-nice bar and lounge area with a view of the mountains

Negatives:
-at $400+ a night, you would think 2 bottles of water would be included. They display non-gourmet items for you to purchase in the room at a 75% markup - $4.00 each for a bottle of water and snack size Pringles.
-no mattress protector - nothing protecting the mattress other than a sheet. For hygienic reasons, I m not comfortable with this
-the deck attached to our room had substantial signs of wear and tear (crumbling tile etc.)
-hallways were lacking cleanliness
-very shallow standard bathtub
-overall the hotel could use some updates

We stayed for a week in September and had a great time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was interested in making dinner reservations and the concierge said that he would make them for me. The bar staff in the main dining room and in the Divas Bar were all very helpful and knowledgeable also. The location is so close to the hot springs and gondola, but it is a bit of a hike into town. There is a hiking trail right behind the hotel which was nice for an afternoon walk or the trail up Sulphur Mountain is right down the street. We had an "obstructed view" room on the 4th floor, but I could still see one of the mountains. There were no trees obstructing our view at all. We did keep one of our curtains closed most of the time because it faced the back of the hotel, but otherwise it was still a great view.

There is nothing negative about this place. Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view of the Rocky Mountains! The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The beds are soft and the rooms are spacious. The food is delicious. The spa is extremely relaxing. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed.

I am pretty sensitive about the bed, the first night I stay in this hotel I had a very good sleeping, usually this doesn t happen to me, I need at least 1 night to get use to the bed and the room. The room was clean, unlike other hotels are using some good smell things to cover bad smells, or to make the room smells good , the room I stayed just smells nothing, just clean. I am super satisfied with this.
The parking is indoor, you can access the parking without going out. The food is not super good but over all I feel comfortable and good with the food and the service I had.
Very friendly and nice staff, helpful and clear information was provided!
If I come to Banff again, I will stay here again for sure!
