The location was kinda in the middle of nowhere, which I guess is something to be expected from a big golf resort. However, I went for a tattoo convention and the secluded location still wasn't an issue because of all of the on-site services and amenities. They have a very nice restaurant and bar area, a Starbucks, and entertainment (pool, pool table, etc.) All of the staff was very courteous, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The resort is very luxorious and easy to navigate. I loved the huge, open lobby with the skylights, water fountains, and relaxing areas. Even though the location is rural, it's pretty close to I-95. So getting back on the highway takes less than five minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Location is awesome, rooms are really nice and staff is very friendly. I came for a wedding and everything was very nice. Parking seems a bit limited at night, only thing I didnt like is you can hear the bars music all the way in the room

First and last visit to this place! I Booked 4 days in advance to stay 7/22-23 with specific requests which included not to be near the elevators or Lobby areas, and 2 double/full beds, in quiet area of the hotel. We were staying at this hotel to attend a Family Members Funeral in South St. Augustine in the early morning of 7/23. Mind you it was not sold out when I made our reservation, so any requests we had should have been scheduled accordingly; however, when we checked in on the eve of 7/22 we were told the hotel was sold out for the night and was put in a room directly across from the dinging elevator with 1 King size bed (room 917). My requests were clearly on the reservation and were clearly ignored! We later found out that we were bumped to a cheaper room w/o being reimbursed so they could upgrade another guest who got our room for the lesser cost they paid! There were also unsupervised Children running and screaming throughout the halls on all the floors, and playing in the elevators till midnight. I asked them nicely to please stop and they responded by returning to knock on our door and run. Had to call for a manager and security for assistance and when the manager finally arrived it was evident that the same children had caused problems the night (7/21) before we had checked in on 7/22! Other teen children later stood outside the elevators at 1:30 a.m. laughing and talking loudly. The room smelled like cigarette smoke (really bad), the a/c was located at the head of the bed that blew directly on your faces when it came on, which was every 3-5 minutes to stay cool, otherwise we would have HAD to sweat what few hours we were in the bed, again AWAKE! There were also loud roof a/c units that ran all night long outside our room! Sadly, we did not attend the Family Members Funeral because we we were so exhausted from the lack of sleep, rest & room discomfort (we needed what bit of opened eye rest we had to drive 6 hours back home)!! If the few requests we had asked for were provided, this situation would have likely never happened! We did personally and respectfully attempt to speak to another manager to ask for our money back when we checked out and he/she would not come out of the office. The Navigator was apologetic and said there was nothing he could do and sent us on our way. It was disappointing that the manager would not take the time to come out of the office to speak with us or at the least, reimburse us for this stay! So with that I want all 1st timers and parents that allow they're small children to run through the hotel hotel halls and elevators w/o any supervision, disturbing and taunting other guests, and to be treated by management with lack of you the guest concerns and/or avoids you the guest, then this is the place for you!!! I'm going to further look into contacting someone from a corporate office to see if we can get any response from them, hoping this is not a common practice from management at this or any of their other properties and perhaps get our money back that way, because it was NOT worth the high $$$.$$ we spent and nor the Family Members Funeral we missed!!! Respectfully, Mr. & Mrs. Levy (room 917).

The location of the hotel is perfect 2 minutes from the outlet mall and 15 minutes from downtown. Very clean rooms, the Bobby is beautiful with a pleasant aroma. The service is perfect. From the continental breakfast to the bar, they are all very professional.

Maybe 7 PM was just a bit late to check into this gorgeous resort after a very long day of travel? ... the lobby was quiet and just 1 person ahead of us. About 40" later, with many apologies - and at least 2 staff who came out but didn't help, we got into our wonderful room, the best part of our stay!!

Decided on the quiet dining room, with few diners, rather than the lively bar area for dinner. The long wait times (seated right next to the server food pick-up area enabked us to hear every conversation of the 3-4 servers); then a nice young man poured our water (without asking or introducing). Turns out he was our server, and proceeded to begin taking our order. He warmed a bit when I asked his name. When asked if we'd like bread, we eagerly replied yes.

The bread arrived ~25" later, with a smile and a "fresh from the oven!" It smelled wonderful - but the nice thick pieces of crusty bread were frozen on the inside. It took us another 10" to get our server's attention (though he walked by our booth several times.

We both had onion soup, that was hot; with lighter choices of calamari & crisped spinach, and a Greek salad, plus a nice Washington State cabernet.

Not likely to return to this beautiful resort with poor to uneven service.

I was so very excited to get away for a weekend and to attend The Players Championship. We booked a king size room and when we arrived we were not given a king size but 2 doubles. The gentleman that checked us in could have clearly seen the reservation request. After coming back to the front desk, we were treated horrible by Bryan who stated that the reservation for the bed size was only a request and not a guarantee. While I can understand this policy, my issue is with how Bryan treated paying guest with no apology or offer an any other way to correct the situation. Another guest standing in the lobby even shared she had seen several people come up without reservations and be given a king size room. After spending over $600 for a 2 night stay, I would expect better customer service. I would not recommend this hotel based on the level of no customer service received.

I fully understand limited staffing that's a result of COVID, but this is one of the worst Marriott properties that I've ever stayed at. It is woefully outdated, the bathroom had mold on the ceiling, and the pool was filthy and in disarray. I'm a Marriott Platinum and have stayed in a few Fairfield Inns that weren't necessarily in the greatest condition, but this location doesn't merit the Renaissance name nor the Category 4 rating. I was scheduled to stay here 5 nights but will shorten my stay to just 1. The only reason I gave a 2 star rating is because the young lady who checked us in was polite and courteous.

This is a horrible place for families. I have never heard music from a lobby bar so obnoxiously loud. We couldn't even hear our TV in our room. The manager seemed more interested in keeping drunk golfers happy over families with young kids. If you are coming for a guys or girls weekend, this is the place. If you want a place for a family weekend, this is not it.

I've been at this venue on multiple occasions for professional events. The experience has always been very comfortable room temperatures, enough seating, tables, water available, sound system working, etc.

To start with, the hotel is stunning. The greeting staff and valets are friendly and quick. The desk staff is fantastic, the lobby is huge, the Villagio bar is nice and the restaurant is great. The rooms have amazing views. BUT despite all this, the cleaning staff isn't friendly at all, the floors in the rooms were nasty, and it took forever for something to be done about it. I have enjoyed a log of the stag but there is plenty that needs to be worked on.

Our first and last time to this hotel! What a disappointment! Made reservations 4 days in advance and ended up in a room that was not in my requests which was to be away from lift and lobby areas. They put us right outside the elevator! Requested 2 dbl beds and got a king (room 917). Room smelt like cigarette smoke and a/c is at the head of the bed and room above large o/s a/c units. Looked online and seen we were put in a cheaper room than what we had orig. paid for. Found it was because the hotel had Sold out & gave lower paying guests upgraded rooms pushing us out of our room! Then young children were running around the halls/floors unsupervised screaming & playing on the lifts till early morning hours, they knocked on our door and ran after asking them nicely to stop; Had to call Security/Management twice! Had a Funeral to go to the next morning but did not make it due to NO sleep from a/c & kids who evidently been doing it the night before we checked in and were evidently addressed about it then. It was def a joke to them because these same kids continued with this bad behavior the next day with us and other guests! Asked to speak to Mngmt when we checked out and he/she would not come out of the office, just had the desk clerk come out and apologize himself to us. Mngmt took NO responsibility & did NOT care to hear our experience further! So BEWARE new visitors of staying here unless your one of those kind of parents who let their children act like this... then its for you!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR THE $$$ WE SPENT!

Very nice rooms, beautiful resort. Due to the current COVID 19 scare, the restuarant and coffee shop is closed. You can get some food from a simplified menu at the bar. Would give a higher score but with the inconvenience of no restaurant cant adequately give it a 5 star. Maybe next I'll be able to re review and give a better score when things get back to normal.

The room was nice, the shower was warm and clean. The mini fridge worked well and provided entertainment for our toddler. They do charge you for internet, which is absurd in 2018. Otherwise it has been an excellent stay. The food in the lobby was tasty as well. The side dishes are overpriced, but the main courses are worth it.

Was shocked to see this hotel has two double beds and not queen beds like every other hotel. For being on a resort the rooms were humid and musty smelling. If this wasn't part of a timeshare deal I would have left asking for a refund. Definitely not as upscale as the price implies.

My wife and i evacuated to Renaissance for Hurricane Irma. Originally we had made reservations for the Sunday the 10th of Sep, however the evacuation order was given on the 9th at 6am. My wife called the hotel and she was fortunate enough to get Tom, the night manager and auditor, he was so understanding to our plight and was able to get us into a room that morning. He was so patient and caring to ease my wife's anxiety. What a blessing he was in our situation. The entire staff starting with our Bellmen George and JD went above and beyond in making our stay calm and relaxing despite the Hurricane. They as well as your entire staff were always upbeat and helpful. In fact we felt we were on a cruise with the food that was available, the kitchen staff really went all out on their presentations. All meals were very good. You have convinced us to use the Renaissance for our getaways as well as family get togethers. Well done to the staff and the Hotel for a job well done in such trying times.

The hotel very good and beautiful. Rooms very clean, but they have things to improve there is little shaded area in the pool for those of us who take care of getting lots of sun and in the late night there is a lot of noise from the recreational areas

Beautiful hotel but getting there is a big pain in the butt. You have to drive 2 miles ALL the way around World Golf Village when it is right at the edge of the property. But the hotel is wonderful and the people are very friendly.
