I absolutely hate to do this, but I did not have a great experience at this hotel. I have also given them several months to follow up and have been given the run around about the incident and promised so many things by the management team. I am sure this is only an isolated incident but the way that it was handled makes me feel like the level of customer service and cleanliness of the hotel needs a lot of improvement before I return again in the future. My family and I visited this hotel because my husband had a large wedding on the property and he was the DJ. Since it was the summer we decided to make a family trip out of it with out 15 year old daughter and her friend along with our 12 month son. This hotel was booked at least 2 months prior to the event to ensure we were on the property for convenience to my husband as he worked through the weekend. We traveled about 6 hours to get to the hotel and when we arrived it was about 1 hour into Check-in time. They told me at check in unfortunately the suite that I had originally booked was not ready but they could put me in a different suite that was ready.

After getting off the road with a cranky child and two teens I accepted. The concierge did escort us to the room to help with luggage and equipment and upon entering we noticed dirty towels and a full garbage and refrigerator that had the worst smell. It looked like the room had been half cleaned. The concierge assisted with the trash and the food that was in the refrigerator and the dirty towels and said he would have management call because unfortunately no other rooms were available. At this time I probably should have just headed back down to the front desk but we just stayed in the room. It looked cleaned there were just a few minor issues that could easily be overlooked. However I was still hoping to hear from the front desk about the condition and we never did. Later that evening my husband and I went downstairs to listen to the live music that was playing in the atrium, it looked as though it was other adults so we took it as an opportunity to get out the room for a moment.
Not even 45 minutes into us leaving my daughter called me to let me know that she believes there were drugs found in the letout couch but she was unsure and she was freaking out because her brother found it and could have gotten into it. She was scared so we immediately rushed to the room and true enough there were drugs in a small opened container that had been found in the sheets of the letout. I was extremely frustrated so I called down to the front desk only to hear that management was not available at this time but they would leave them a note to contact me. I probably should have alerted the authorities but once again I was given the hotel the information first.
We never heard anything so in the morning before breakfast I stopped down to the front desk only to hear management was not available once again. I kind of explained the sense of urgency and asked if they could stop by the room as soon as they returned. Hours later Lorraine who was part of the management team came to the room, I explained everything to her and she was shocked, I gave her the container with the substance and she deeply apologized. She asked me to stop at the front desk before heading to the wedding to discuss. After speaking to her and how dangerous this could have gone if my child would have gotten into it, and how these room have to be cleaned thoroughly she seemed mortified. She offered me free breakfast and some points for the inconvenience. I insisted that I was not looking for food I wanted this to be handled and us moved to another room. She explained there were no other rooms as they were completely sold out. She said she understood my frustration and would work on handling this. We have checked out and its almost 3 months later and I never even got the promised minimum. This was the worst hotel experience because management never followed up and did not take the information seriously. I just want to make everyone aware of the negligence.

Beautiful place. Decent location. My room was gross upon arrival. Has been days now and they STILL have yet to come clean my floors like I asked. My shower was gross. Just horrible cleaning service in my opinion. Yes the place looked really nice, but still GROSS. Otherwise great service. Really enjoyed the people and food. Not the nicest place I've stayed by far! (The pictures are from only walking on

Room was not as requested! No vending machines worked so was forced to pay $7 for 3 can drinks from their bar as it was to late and to far to travel elsewhere for drinks! Ice machine on our floor was also broke! Staff was extremely rude, snobby and just overall unhelpful! So much for a nice Anniversary stay!

Room was on second floor. The only thing that was annoying was the fact you could hear the water fountain in your room all night long while in your room. Other than that it was a nice visit. The employees are very nice and helpful.

We had a wonderful time at The WGV hotel. The staff was outstanding. Brian at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure our stay was rememberable. From making sure we had a nice view and a room with a balcony to celebrate our anniversary. He recommended a wonderful restaurant The Raintree for us one night for dinner.

Yes the hotel is in need of a remodel but the staff has nothing to do with that. They make up for this in their guest service.

We really enjoyed our stay and expect to see us back again very soon.

Good looking and clean hotel. My biggest complaint would be during check-in, they asked me if there was enough on my card to cover the hotel like I was not capable of covering it. Another complaint, they do not have complimentary coffee and only 2 creamers in each room. There is a Starbucks, an expensive restaurant, and a bar. Room has a mini fridge.

The staff is great. It's a bit away from all the stuff in St. Augustine however this makes it where you aren't very far from Jacksonville. We liked this because we could go to either city quickly.

What an amazing property under the Marriott umbrella.

The hotel is beautiful and nestled off the beaten path on a golf course. Inside is a mini wonderland with lights, trickling water and decorations.

Brandon checked me in and he was extremely friendly and even helped me with the wifi on my phone.

The room had two balconies, a separate bedroom and a mini bar area with a fridge.

They have a working hot tub, ping pong table, cornhole and a pool table. We used them all.

The breakfast in the morning was amazing, lots of fruit and omelettes and waffles to order.

This is only 20 minutes, in traffic, to the lights in old town and they allow pets for a $150.00 fee. Sorry Dakota you cant come with me.

This is my 3rd visit here. I am hotel picky and this was a worry free, relaxing getaway. I will stay here again.

I visited here for EXP Con 2017. I didn't stay as a guess but only attended the convention. Overall hotel convention center and lobby was very clean and organized. Staff at the hotel was very helpful when needed. If given the chance, I would stay here a few nights. No doubt the rooms are as clean and tidy as the rest of the hotel and lobby areas.

Disappointing hotel. The rooms smell musty and are really not taken care of. We changed rooms and the second room had the same smell. They feel very humid and damp even with the a/c. The first room had bulbs out, the second rooms bar sink doesn't turn off properly and the refrigerator is iced up. They do not pay attention to details. We had to call to have the room serviced. The beds are so small. They are a full size and old. They tried to dress them up with a thicker mattress pad but they are not comfortable. The pillows are thin. just not quality bedding. They also do not offer free wifi. i would not recommend this hotel. It is anything but luxury.

The surrounding landscaping was nice and well-kept. There is an open center court extending to top floor of the hotel, with gorgeous hanging decorations that caught and reflected the sunlight as it streamed through the skylight. The court has a wonderful atmosphere, with water fountains, comfortable seating (including desks with power and Internet connections incase one wants to take on the scenery while working at the same time), and a glass topped grand piano.

The room was nice, a standard two Queen size beds with a balcony overlooking the outdoor swimming pool and other features of the golf course in the distance. There was a mini-fridge and small sink in the main room with a counter for their coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, and ice bucket. The bathroom was large and clean, and came equiped with a magnifying makeup mirror, and cotton balls and swabs.

The World Golf Village Renaissance was the best meeting place my company has used to date. The staff were curtious and efficient. The accommodations were clean and richly appointed. I will absolutely recommend hosting all our future events there.

Beautiful hotel and most comfortable bed I have slept in. Wish my room had a microwave, but that is just a minor inconvenience. Staff were very friendly and always quick to see if you need anything.

So I had higher hopes for this place. Granted it the off season but they seemed understaffed. The rooms were updated and clean. The food was not at all good. Breakfast was expensive and very underwhelming. No concieriage level. You can get a better meal at waffle house. The staff was very nice. We did have to wait for our rooms. We were an hour early but when traveling with a handicapped person this sometimes happens. No apologies were made not that they need to be but sitting in the lobby with a wheel chaired bound person gets a bit old fast. We had 3 rooms in total for the weekend. I do not believe this hotel offers 2 queen size beds as an option only 2 doubles. We moved into the bar to have an adult beverage. No one came by to give us the status of our room or to offer to comp our modest bar tab ( beer). Not that we expect this but the gesture would have gone a long way. If you are expecting a premium service you will be dissapointed. The handicap room we were given had a tub instead of a shower, which is no good. It did have a hand rail. There were not enough towels in the rooms. For a room with two doubles you need more than 2 towels, they did come promptly when called for. This is a typical marriott resort property though, the grounds are beautiful and relaxing. You will pay for wi fi, water bottles, and breakfast. If you are a rewards member like us, and are loyal to Marriott one of the other lower level properties would actually be a better value, if you are expecting even remotely premium (Ritz) service this will not fit your expectations.
