Stayed in a regular bedroom with a king bed. Everyone was very nice! Only complaint I have is the pillows! They offered no head support, per usual with hotel pillows. Would stay again though!

Best little get away we have had in a long time. From the front desk to the spa, everyone had a smile. This was southern hospitality to the fullest. Something I haven t seen in a long time. Spa service was excellent. The pool was beautiful and relaxing. The fitness center had everything you need. We will be back THANK YOU! I

It has beautiful scenery, absolutely loved the staff.. everything was great till we went to bed.. the curtains would not close all the way so there was a gap.. ok cool except the spotlight balcony light kept getting turned on and off and on.. tried to call downstairs only to find phone doesn't work.. had to look up the place on Google to call and ask if they would turn the balcony light back off (it was off at 9pm) this was 1pm.. so for the rest of the night on and off goes this light that is like a blast of blinding light coming in from the gap in the curtains and bouncing off the mirror right in your face in a otherwise completely blacked out room.. I expect that at a cheap motel.. not what is supposed to be a nice relaxing resort.. had a late check-out but was so exhausted we left early so we could go home and sleep.. not the relaxing get away I had hoped for really disappointed.. so if your going to say here maybe take binder clips or something to keep the curtains closed and maybe you will have a good night's rest.. forget the wake up call phones in room don't work... maybe try a motel 6 for same experience but cheaper price.. definitely not Marriott quality

We cannot connect ChromeCast or Amazon Echo to our $15-a-night wifi connection at Marriott Renaissance Ross Bridge in Birmingham, Alabama because each connection requires a separate login. Even though the package allows 10 devices to be connected for the fee (unlike, say, Red Roof Inn, Motel 6 or any other budget motel next to a truck stop off the interstate where wifi is all free), many devices have no way to input text, so we couldn t sign these devices up. Very disappointing, and in fact, almost a dealbreaker, especially when the person I spoke to said it was the fault of our devices firewalls.

One restaurant closed, the other serving limited menu. Food quality poor.
Under staffed. One person working in bar/restaurant, trying to serve 40+ people.
Driving range & chipping area closed at golf course.
Requested late checkout, they would only do that if I paid $100. I am a Platinum Elite member.
Numerous doors locked or blocked-fire evacuation hazard.
Complained to management: DO NOT CARE!

First off valet argumentative on arrival just wanted to leave car for a few minutes after check in and it was an ordeal have not experienced that at any other properties before usuallynot a problem. Front desk seemed nice. Room is ok bed comfortable however, linens such as towels are thin, small and definitely lacking, poor quality. Service horrible stayed here two nights and asked for a simple pot of coffee and tea both days unable to fulfill. When contacted the first time on day one, their we serve number was argumentative and unapologetic. Contacted SPG/Marriot rewards to complain and was assured it would be escalated to hotel management. No contact from hotel management ever. When arrived back at this hotel that night went to desk and asked that coffee and tea be delivered at 0700 their kitchen does not open until 0630 am which we were reminded of multiple times on the we serve number. They still did not deliver on time for something as simple as coffee and tea. They were 25 minutes late and order was incorrect still three trips later could not master coffee and tea. Incredible......property is nice and impressive when you pull up but looks are deceiving and when traveling simple things can mean a lot however apparently not here.

My husband and I went as a local guests for a 1-night stay to celebrate the very-near arrival our 3rd baby and 8th wedding anniversary. We very much wanted to use the spa services, but was not informed until I called at to confirm at the very last minute that I would not be able to receive the massage I was originally scheduled for due to being pregnant - at that point, it was already too late to cancel my room. We decided to go ahead and hopefully enjoy the pool anyways. Well, our room wasn't cleaned well and there were long hairs all over the shower walls. Then we went to the pool the next morning after checking out, we were overwhelmed with the massive amounts of people that were occupying the pool and the surrounding areas - way overcrowded especially when the pool should be monitored even more closely due to COVID guidelines. There was no point where we could even get IN the pool with the overwhelming amount of people in it. We overheard several people at the pool saying that they did not even have a room there and were wondering what the color armband at the pool for the day. We decided to cut our time short and leave early because of the overcrowding. Before leaving, I told the receptionist about the issue and she said there's nothing she could do now that we've checked out, but she would send someone down to make sure it's being monitored at the pool. I called and spoke with the Melvin Harris (?), the director, and after telling him all of these issues, I was told by him that the only consolation he could offer was to allow us to come back and enjoy the pool on a different day... Very disappointed that no further action was taken to resolve our poor experience.

Nice hotel. They list complimentary electric car chargers on the web site. Upon arrival I was told it would it would be necessary to pay for valet parking to use the charger, but when I protested they relented.

If grand look and ambiance is important to you tha...

If grand look and ambiance is important to you than go for it but if you want good service especially for a wedding then go spend your money somewhere else.
My son got married at Renaissance Ross Bridge a few months ago and it was nightmare. The staff and event management were difficult from the very beginning. They promised so many items verbally and that they conveniently left out of the contracts. Items that were changed in the contract were the minimum requirement for food and beverage which went from $15,000 to $22,000. If you choose to host any event here, I would suggest going through each line of the contract because they are shady and change items at every turn.
Our first event was on a Friday evening. When our guests arrived for check-in, the rooms were not ready for check-in. The hotel was well aware that we had several out of town guests coming in and were aware of how many guests we had several months out from the date. Our poor guests were sitting in the lobby waiting for check-in for well over an hour. This is unacceptable when you are spending this kind of money at the venue.
Ross Bridge completely botched the lunch at one of our events. The lunch was to be served at 11:00 am and they would not allow our caterer to start set up the food, though he arrived at 10:00 am with hot food it did not get set up till way past 11:00 am schedule lunch time. Event Manager claimed no one is out side. All of our guests stood around and waited while the hotel staff set up burners for 45 minutes. The caterer was not allowed to set up his food so that it could be served hot. In the end up food got cold and our guests complained of cold food and the delay was over an hour further delayed rest of the program. The Chef who was there for vendors meeting was not on duty so details never got passed down to the staff on duty.
Ross Bridge will swindle you out of money spend so please take your business elsewhere. Breakfast was ordered for 75/50 people for two days. Small foil tray were set up that never got refilled unless you asked for refill and for that you had to go and find the staff, scrambled eggs were cold. for that they charge us extra on top of basic breakfast. We had to look for staff, when any items ran out. The cocktail hour appetizers were purchased for 480 guests. The servers would bring the food out once and never appear with them again. We ordered crab cakes for 200 people and a tray of 50 was taken out of freezer and not even that was brought out, one time I had seen tuna wanton and brochette, server just walked around never offered it .even Samosa got served without chutney. No body knew we had crab cake, tuna wanton. Guest asked if we had food I had to call event manager to bring food out. Their servers are not kind and did not engage or offer the guests the food. The staff is very poorly trained and it shows. After complaining about how this was handled, the hotel offered us a $500 credit for a charge of $2800. It was lazy on the part of the hotel and their person in charge of Food and Beverage was not present or helpful. Event Manager Lack of diligence caused our event to be a disaster. Rooms were not that great either one of our guest room ac was not working s since they had to change his room. There were many other problems with this hotel and I do not recommend it to anyone for hosting event specially a wedding. The staff from the event manager to the food and beverage, housing manager to the servers is all poorly trained and there is no communication between the different levels. The service is horrendous and they are all very unprofessional. For the high-price charged by the resort is not justified, based on the poor quality of the resort s service, food- quality & quantity, rooms and overall experience.Dealing with Ross Bridge was stressful and agonizing each step of the way. Save yourself the time, money and stress and please go find another venue, once in Lifetime event I would not recommend it .

We had a remarkable experience at this location. The vallet gentlemen ( Jay and Gabe) was wonderful. Even though we did not use the vallet services. These gentlemen did help us with another issue.( a flat tire). They set very high standards for this location. We also encountered a gentleman named David who also helped with our unfortunate issue as we was leaving the resort.
The bartender Tommy never forgot what I ordered and how I liked it. ( perfect). Your staff made us feel welcome and went beyond what I thought was their job duties to ensure we had a stress free time.
Thank you so much for this experience it has made a lasting impression on us!!

Extremely underwhelmed. For the money, $280, the room was nothing special. Basic at best. Yes, we checked in at 11pm on Sat nite, but the bar closed at 11pm, the indoor pool and hot tub closed at 11pm. No cell phone signal in the hotel!! My Note 8 couldn't connect to their wifi.

This place was beautiful. The staff was awesome. The bar prices were absolutely ridiculous. I ordered a double Basil Hayden on the rocks and it was $30. I just need to point out that a bottle of Basil Hayden 750 ML sells retail for $24.99. this spirit is distilled by Jim Beam, it is not imported, (it is made 2 states away) it is not aged any further, it is a smaller batch bourbon and it retails for $24.99 per bottle not glass. $12, $14, $16 even $18 dollars would have been ok. I understand that it's a hotel bar, I get that prices are a little higher but seriously you should never charge more for what you can fit in a glass than the bottle cost. Now I understand why the prices are not on the menu. Oh yes one more detail to point out, they measured each one of those shots so it was not even a full glass. I travel and it frustrates me how much bar prices vary. One place will have local prices others sneak their prices in to make up for lost cost in other areas. Food cost should run around 33-1/3 and liquor cost around 40.

The Staff was nice, but I think the resort overall is overated.
Rooms nasty, shower didnt drain, couldn't adjust water temperature, carpet dirty, after being moved twice the second room wasn't any better. The bedding was wrinkled in both rooms as if someone had just left out.(not freshly pressed)
We couldn't enjoy the balcony because of the wasp nests.

Breakfast was ok but we are not pork eaters.I think they need a wider variety.

We were celebrating our anniversary, but didn't get the relaxation we desire here.

The customer service was so impressive, beginning at the front desk. I was greeted by a young lady named Cassie, who went over and beyond to make us feel welcome, as it was mine and my Husbands anniversary. Next, we headed to the clubhouse and Meagan was our server for lunch. She was amazing. Best service we have had! Can't say enough nice things about our stay and the treatment we received from the staff! Thank you for an awesome trip!!

We are a family of 6 (4 young girls) and ADORE Ross Bridge. We don't golf, but love the pool, slide, pool bar, et al. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, all requests were brought to our room almost immediately. Check-in was seamless. The Spa is one of my favorites anywhere. There is a relaxing hot tub, steam room, and wonderful showers with Aveda products. I have visited at least 5-10 times over the years and have never been disappointed. Get a Bushwacker if you're there by the pool in the summer! Yum!

I've stayed at Ross Bridge many times, but my most recent stay was to celebrate my 29th birthday, and it was truly such an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived on-site at the property, my mother and I were greeted kindly by everyone. You expect a level of high customer service when you stay at a nice hotel like Ross Bridge, but the staff that weekend went above and beyond. One Ross Bridge staff member, in particular, was Carlos, he was fantastic. He was engaged, enthusiastic, and truly cared about the reason for our stay and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. He eagerly assisted us with our bags, he carried on great conversation up to our rooms to drop off our bags, he provided excellent dining recommendations for us to try on-site at the hotel, and even stepped outside of his job description and took pictures of me and my mother in the lobby before we went out to dinner, which is not something he had to do, he just clearly saw two women struggling to take a selfie picture and jumped in to help. Carlos then surprised us for my birthday, and provided us with complimentary breakfast vouchers to Brock's, which has the most amazing breakfast buffet! We spent the weekend at the pool relaxing, and shoutout to the chef grilling burgers that day, they were delicious! Carlos also informed us of all the fun activities which will be going on at Ross Bridge during the upcoming holiday season, so we will be back to the Castle for Christmas, and we will schedule a spa appointment because their spa services are also wonderful. Thank you, Carlos, for making me feel so special on my birthday, I greatly appreciate you! -Cam

I don t understand how this hotel gets the high ratings that it does - I have had my share of stays at 4 and 5 star hotels and this one is about a 3.5 star at best primarily for the location and building. They are in definite need of customer service training/etiquette and a some updates to the overall appeal. A friend heard great reviews about this place and wanted to do a spa day there for her birthday! Let s just say it is a birthday that she will never forget and not in a good way.
-We booked the spa and stay package - the spa consistently called her prior to our arrival to see if she could take an earlier appointment (6pm) when in fact our original appointment was 5:30pm. Upon arriving , the staff at the front desk was very unprofessional and non-accommodating. Although we had already booked and paid for our room over the phone previously (over $500) the hotel wanted to place an additional hold on the account for the room fee and incidentals.
-When we arrived to the spa, we learned that they were running behind a lot and there is only one nail tech that works on the weekend who had been working since 8am without a break.
-The massage rooms were cold and not very relaxing, there were workers in and out of the resting spaces, and guests as well as employees talking loudly in the quiet room .
-The spa chairs are wooden and are so uncomfortable that it almost seems that the end goal is get you out of their quickly.
-We were almost double charged for the spa services because the lady told us that the spa and the hotel systems don t communicate with each other and no one told her that a spa package was included in our stay. Our day was spent pulling up confirmation emails on our phones to prove that our services were paid for.
-There was no hot water to shower with in our rooms. And the staff had a very nonchalant attitude about most everything.
-The property is beautiful, but certainly can use some updated furniture and maintenance.

I personally drove almost five hours as a first time guest here and I was not impressed - certainly overpriced for a lackluster experience. I would not revisit.
