So this is a popular course because of it being one of the longest in the world. Unfortunately this apparently has been the longest summer too. Greens were just terrible. Tore up from overuse and suffering from some disease too. Carts were More

Really nice course layout. Good condition and challenging. Pro shop, food and beverage services and food cart were solid. Unfortunately, grounds crew needs to be replaced. Lost count of how many times they interfered with our play. Stopped four times to flush the blown cut grass and dust out of my eyes when the crew rode the movers right beside me. I think they interfered eleven out of eighteen holes and none of them yielded to the players. Great track just need a new grounds crew.

What a beautiful track!!!! Played an afternoon round on 3/23/19 and course was in great condition from Tee Box to Green. Greens were slick and true. If you like a challenge, risk reward, and lots of elevation give it a try. You Will Not Be Disappointed. Great course friendly staff , Great Time!Starter Jay was a great help and very accommodating. He definitely needs a raise!!

We played 5 courses near Birmingham recently and this was my favorite. Huge fairways, unique holes and many challenging tee shots over water. Greens were soft and tee boxes were well maintained. Marshals were attentive and kept pace of play up without hounding or watching over you (one even gave us cold towels).

Staff is super and will even ship your clubs (via Shipsticks) if you don t feel like hauling them home.

Tip: take a change of clothes and shower in the locker room (2 clean and large stalls available). It s much better than sitting in sweaty gear after your round.

Fantastic place for a round of golf. The people were friendly and the course was in good shape. The fairways are wide and the cart path can be a long distance from the tee box.

I recommend not playing if it is cart path only.

We had a chance to take a long weekend and return again to our favorite Birmingham Resort Hotel to go through the mountains for leaf gazing. The staff greeted us with such warmth and friendliness - this is the South after all. Everyone was carefully masked, distanced and sanitizing gel everywhere. We had a suite this time, and my goodness it was so delightfully large and comfortable. The management has thought of everything. They had plenty of water and coffee service for us when we arrived, and our room was as immaculate as I ve ever seen a hotel room. Our stay included exemplary spa service with Whitley...I d drive five hours to get there just for the spa experience. The food is always exceptional and service is always friendly. If you love relaxing by the pool, you won t be disappointed, and cabana attendants are practically psychic. I am already think forward to spring, when azaleas are in bloom and I can take my next trip to The RTJ Renaissance.

Not only have I played here, but I've worked here as well! I can tell you with our a doubt, Ross Bridge/RTJ Golf Trail is by far an awesome day out for your golfing needs and a fabulous evening out for a fancy dinner in Brock's or a laid back supper in the Clubhouse. The food is phenomenal and the staff is wonderful! As an added note, they have a spa, massage services, nail salon, hair stylist as well as gift shops. Really, if you're needing to get out of the house for a fun little getaway, definitely consider Ross Bridge!! It's a mini vacay great for the whole family!

Great Couse and can be played buy people at different levels. Many tee boxes and plenty of challenges for good golfers. Condition of Couse was great. Tees and views were were great and great practice area. We did not have Time to eat or drink anything, but people were very nice and friendly. My only reason I did not give 5 stars was the greens were slow for me.

Staff was incredible and extremely accommodating upon arrival. Course was so wet, I was surprised they let us on. Greens were damaged from all the divots and play, but understand courses need to make money. They did not give players sand to replace divots (not in the cart or anywhere on the fairway except for the tee boxes, which I am assuming was half the issue. Very tough course with tons of challenging holes with elevation. I would love to come back and play again in the near future.

Ross Bridge rated 5-1/2 stars: The latest addition to Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is arguably the best. A big dimension course in which an outstanding and visually impressive layout combines with beautiful lakeside and woodland scenery. Without doubt, this is golf with wow factor stamped all over it.

Great course, greens and fairways in excellent shape, and we enjoyed ourselves in spite the rudeness that we experienced from Chip in the pro shop. As two women golfing alone, rudeness to the point of being uncomfortable made us feel as if there was a bias against single women golfing. The evening before the pro shop told us that the course was wide open in the morning so to feel free to ask if we could get off earlier - if we wanted to. We did in fact wake up early and came to the pro shop where sadly chip was working rather than the staff from before. Chip informed us that there were no openings on the course for at least an hour unless we could go off in 5 minutes - with a look of you won t really do that, We took that offer and managed to be at the starter on time. The course was almost empty and during our 3 hour and 40 minute round, we never encountered any other players. Afterwards when we left, we told the staff how lovely everything was except for the cold reception upon checking in. The gentlemen then said Oh so that s why Chip was screaming over the radios to all the staff to stop telling people they could go off early. Chip is not an asset to this lovely course nor his obvious bias toward women golfers.

Played this course yesterday! Magnificent golf course with picturesque holes. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Very nervous about negative reviews, but they proved to be wrong. The Marshall did tell me that greens were in trouble last summer and fall but superintendent, who worked incredibly hard, did an awesome job of getting them back. We will definitely be returning next month to play this fabulous course. The Hotel experience was wonderful, also.

This course is excellent and probably my second favorite on the trail. The size of this course is wild. It feels huge and has trouble everywhere. The course was in immaculate condition and I love the greens, they were smooth. I highly recommend this course if you are in the area.

Been there before and had a better time then. I understand with COVID things change but not having a hot tub was unfortunate. Our room stayed warm throughout the night and some random person was 'confused' and tried to come into our room at 230 in the morning waking my husband and I both from sleep. Also I had asked for a pool view but instead got to look at the parking lot with a big cherry picker in it. For the amount of money paid for this place it definitely underperformed.

Nice course, if you can take carts off the cart paths, if not you turn a 4hr round into a 5 1/2 hrs. Plus all that up and down walking from path to tees to path to fairway to path to green, some more than 100yrds away.

Super slow pace of play with no help from marshals. We ended with 5 open holes ahead of the foursome in front of us when we quit and went to the club house. We did not return for the second planned day.
