Very disappointed with our stay at the Renaissance. We got charged for EVERY single little thing. Hotel staff was rude and rooms were nothing special. Will definitely be going elsewhere next stay in Seattle.

First off I want to state I love this hotel and have stayed there over three weeks in the last three years. But because of my experience with the front desk clerk Caroline I am writing this review. I am a Marriott platinum member and have been for the last 14+ years and have spent more then a year of my life at their hotels and never had such a negative experience with any of them. I booked two rooms last week for a business trip for my partner and I to Seattle on my rewards account. I called the hotel in advance ( as I always do when we travel together which is very frequently) to add his name on to the reservation ( in case his flights gets in before me or loses keys that way he can check in without me or obtain keys we also normally take turns paying for each business trip). When he checked in I met him in the lobby he went up to the desk and checked in as normal under my reservation ( I left my wallet in my room and it was also his turn to pay for the trip). We went to our meetings and checked out 5 days later. I noticed on my Marriott rewards account a couple days later that I only received points for one room. I called the hotel today and was transferred to the accounting department. The gentlemen that answered was very polite, I told him the circumstances and he said no problem he would take care of it. Several hours later someone named Caroline called from the hotel. She stated that she was the one that checked him and that she removed my account from the reservation because Joe was the one that used his credit card not me. She had a nasty condescending attitude and was rude beyond belief. She then lied to me and said she told Joe when he checked in that if I didn t use my credit card that she would remove my account. I knew this was a total lie and BS. Obviously if she would have told him that he would have got me in the lobby and I would have simply walked up to my room and grabbed my wallet. I called him anyway and asked and he laughed and said she was full of it and that never happened. I called corporate Marriott customer care and filed a complaint, they credited me the points I was owed an apologized. I would never stay at this hotel again as long as Caroline is working there. She is a liar and probably removed my account from the reservation to boost her own numbers. It s a shame that one bad apple ruins it for this hotel which I love the rooms and bar at. I would be happy to stay here once she is gone.

Beautiful. Clean. Some other room noise and quite a bit of a wait for elevators because the hotel is packed. Amazing breakfast buffet in the 2nd floor and great location to get our exercise and walk to the market. Every Lyft has been cheap and a few minutes from the hotel to whatever restaurant or outing.

I visited the Seattle Renaissance hotel for a furry convention, Anthro Northwest, and I had the opportunity to use many of their amenities. I was extremely satisfied with the cleanliness and beauty of the hotel.

Beautiful, well-apportioned hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. It sits one block off of I-5 but you can't even hear it. You are also 5 blocks from the waterfront, but be aware - Seattle's hills are legendary for a reason! If you go down, prepare yourself for the hike back uphill. The fitness center is full of great equipment. Staff is polite and attentive. Desk area in the room is spacious. One weird thing is there isn't a dresser. Still, it is a conveniently located hotel with a ton of plusses.

Great hotel, staff was friendly and helpful. If you have a large car it is harder for them to part it in there garage so it will take longer for you to get it back. The breakfast is great, on the top flora so you can everything. Altogether a good hotel

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Well located, and probably a step up from most hotels in the area. My only complaint is simply that it's overpriced for what you get: a room with a bed. The real kicker is that they make you pay for Wifi on top of paying for the overpriced room. Airbnb offers a much better value these days.

I've stayed here a few times now, and each time I have had a good experience. The staff is always friendly, including the doorman who on my last trip spent time visiting with me while I waited for my Uber.

We had great customer service but there was construction going on while at the place. No dining really or pool. We had a suite but there was no microwave. You had to go to different floors for snacks or ice or microwave. It was weird. We asked for extra blankets and pillows. The pillows were fine but the blankets were like sandpaper. Also, there was an issue in the shower where the nozzle was loose. They fixed it after we asked about it.

Horrible, horrible service and uncaring front desk clerks!!! Also false advertising - there is NOT free WIFI nor PAID Parking as stated on the Google site!
We came here yesterday thinking it that a 4/5 star hotel would have the basic amenities and customer service we have found at every other hotel. Not so! When arriving yesterday we were given a room that faced another building within 10 feet, no privacy at all and no views which surrounded the hotel. When asked what it costs to upgrade they stated that the hotel was full - during a pandemic??? Really?! The clerk gave the price of $50 to upgrade then a diff price of $100 15 min later. The parking garage was completely empty. We paid for parking, however when a gentleman walked up right behind us to check in, they stated that they were okay giving him free parking. This morning when coming to find the business center to work, I asked where the nearest restroom was, it was on the 2nd floor. With allergies I continued to need to go up to the restroom, when I asked if there were any tissues available for guests, if I could get a box so I wouldn't have to keep traveling upstairs to the restroom to get some, the clerk stated, no we don't have tissues down here at all, and I don't know where to get any - wow, horrible service! So, I continued to go up and down to the 2nd floor while working to get tissues. As I was waiting for the elevator only the service elevator was showing up, I asked if anything was wrong with the elevator that it wasn't available, they said no, just ride the service elevator. Frankly, it didn't look inviting, and had a covering on the walls, and different button panel, but why... why should someone paying for a 4.5 hotel be even asked to ride the service elevator? Their explanation, well it's the one that is coming so you should ride it. Well, the service elevator should be for services, and the guest elevator should be coming for guests.. right????

I was surprised at the clerks reaction and uncaring passive response to anything being asked of the her and the hotel to help.
We will never come to this hotel again, horrible, horrible service. We are currently trying to change our reservation which was through the weekend.

Whenever I get there I feel like home. Staff is very helpful and polite: from door boy till concierge and management. If you have any problem they will give their best to help you out. Breakfast buffet is basic, though the waiters are very helpful and polite and like to chat with you. Room service is great and meals are quite generous. Also I would like to highlight bar in a lobby with great atmosphere. Location of hotel is a bit away from Downtown (15 mins by foot) but I don't mind. Hotel is just across huge library. By the way there's no usual convenience store, so if you want some snacks for later snacks you should go either to bartell down the hill that works till 20/21h or to, two blocks towards bay, seven eleven that works till 23:00.
Back to hotel: it has a nice basic+ gym that works 24HRS. Rooms are clean and usually spacious.

Checked in and they didn't have the type of room I initially booked, put us in a handicap room instead with smaller beds. They nickel and dime you wherever possible. They charge $12 a day for wifi (I can get wifi at McDonald's for the price of a dollar menu burger, why are they charging you for internet when you're paying well over $100 a night?). Parking was about a third of the cost of the room. There is a substantial amount of noise from the highway as well. All this makes for a bad first impression, even though the room is nice enough.

Stayed here during ECCC and it was great. Fantastic staff who were kind, attentive and did a great job. The room was beautiful, spacious and the beds were lovely and comfortable. If I need to stay downtown again, I will be staying here. Close to downtown and lots of shopping. It's a little bit of a walk from the convention center, but nothing major. Also within walking distance to Pike Place and the Paramount. Lots of restaurants nearby and inside the hotel itself.

Last year was great but this year for new years there was no regular parking only valet. Also, the reason we got the room for new years was to see the space needle but this year you have to be an elite member to watch the show. Cant be elite member when i have no reason to be at hotels that often. Never coming back here again ruined the whole experience.

I stayed here for a few nights in July and was blown away by how big and beautiful the hotel was. There was a full bar in the lobby and restaurant on one of the other floors. The parking was expensive & we kept getting locked out of the parking garage but the front desk was always nice enough to buzz us back in. The room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed that we were close to all the attractions.

Did not stay there over night, but the rooms are beautiful and very clean, the lobby is pretty nice with the usual higher end hotel amenities. Beautiful views of downtown Seattle from rooms with many windows.

Used the 28th floor conference hall facility. Overall amazing views but I was there for a professional event that had speakers and whenever the AC would kick on it was super loud and distracting. Otherwise everything else was great.

Very nice modern rooms but who the hell still tries to charge for wifi in the rooms these days. Would not return because of this. Free wifi is status quo in hotels these days. It is free in the lobby though at least.

Great customer focused staff, empowered to make quick decisions to make things right. Impressive breakfast buffet, though expensive. Parking rates are ridiculous, park at Madison and 4th instead for only $14. Rooms are good (average for the class) and they do have a non-pet floor if you have allergies.

Every time I visit Seattle for business, this is where I stay. The vibe and feel of the place is great. The rooms are clean. Front desk staff are friendly especially Sondra Hansson. She is awesome! She is very welcoming and always has a smile on her face. I highly recommend this hotel.

Visited for an event hosted in their ballroom. Building staff were pleasant and capable, and the in house catering was excellent. Generally high class facility. Parking was convenient despite downtown Seattle location. Nice choice of cocktails in the bar after..

Rooms were nice, but the hotel staff didn't make it to my floor by the time I got off work. The restrooms were small, I've seen better at Holiday Inns. Towels were like scrub pads. Staff was super friendly. I did have one major issue, which was automated calls at night. i got woke up 6 times in two days.

Dining service staff and room staff were exceptionally attentive but not overbearing. Bed was very comfortable. Only downside is if on highway side of hotel the noise can be disruptive. Also, please wash windows to improve view.

As soon as we booked, we called the hotel to check for an upgrade of the room to add an extra bed, they didn t answer any question and send us to speak with the website where we did the reservation, from the website told us that we where able to do the upgrade as soon as we get to the hotel, so that was what we tried to do.
When we arrived to the front desk the attention from David, as a concierge, was very unhelpful, and no body else wanted to help us with the upgrade.
They told us that 5 people fits well in a two double-bed room! But the bed weren t even a regular size of bed!
Finally we had to book an extra room at a regular price.
No body from the hotel or the website gave us a solution!!
