I was staying at the Talaris in order to be close to Seattle Children's Hospital, where my little sister was having a brain tumor removed, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my visit. They even provided us with little food boxes so that we could load up on the complimentary breakfast foods to take with us. Every interaction was pleasant and helpful and the grounds are beautiful, not to mention plenty of parking. Highly recommend

Most everything was great, however there are two main things I look for in an overnight lodging, quiet and restful sleep and bathroom/shower facilities. While the quiet restful sleep was excellent, the bathroom shower facilities were severely dated and not in great shape. The shower head came up to my shoulder, plumbing was showing holes in the wall, and just crowded. For $200+ a night, I expect better. If not for this Talaris would have warranted a much better rating.

A hidden gem in Seattle, this venue is truly a stunning location. From the eagles nesting (yes, actual eagles) to the fantastic beauty of the landscaping and ponds, it's tough to find a more peaceful place in the heart of a modern city.

The included breakfast is good. The view is excellent, we watched ducks and geese on the lawn and in the lake just outside the dining area, there is an eagle's nest with an eagle sitting on eggs and binoculars to view it, and the grounds are a large serene park in the middle of the city.

4 stars for the ambience and 18 Acres of greenery, although all this has already been put on sale :-( the rooms are from 1980s and feel their age. There are some decent eateries and a nice groceries market within walking distance. This is a calm and green sanctuary in the middle of Seattle's concrete jungle.

This is a hidden gem in the rapidly changing Seattle world. Hotel, conference center, an unusual combination in a residential neighborhood. The buildings have been in better condition but proximity outweighs that in my opinion. Beautiful grounds.

The staff is great! They are very friendly and customer focused. The grounds and location are beautiful! The breakfast is not your typical free hotel breakfast. They had fresh smoothies, eggs, kale and kid friendly choices. The rooms could use some updates. I would rate it even higher if they updated the rooms with a lighter, brighter paint palette, higher end fixtures (shower heads), new tile, carpeting and solid surface countertops. If you need to stay somewhere in the University District, it's worth considering.

My husband and I had to take our daughter to Seattle Childrens Hospital in May of last year. The staff was so kind and thoughtful. This hotel is so peaceful and calming. We will be staying again this month with our daughter. I could not recommend a better hotel.

The Talaris conference center was absolutely gorgeous and serene. I received complementary breakfast and the staff was nothing but wonderful. They definitely made my stay in Seattle much more enjoyable. I would definitely stay at Talaris if I'm ever in the area again.

The place seemed to be next to a lot of greenery. Definitely seemed conservative, which is fine for most social/group events. Loved the setting of the conference rooms. Very easy to track through the area, and plenty of space for extracurricular activities!

We stayed here a few days ago. What a hidden gem inside the city. This is truly a place to stay and relax. Not being a fan of huge high-rise hotels, this was perfect! Boutique in size, spacious grounds to walk and relax and the breakfast was very much above average. The parking is a unspoken big plus in my book. No extra fee and you can park very close which makes it great when traveling with suitcases, etc.

A big thanks to the Talaris to its charming staff specially Mario Bob Jordan and all the staff at breakfast, at reception and inside the hotel. who by their extreme kindness have supported us very much in our ordeal . They helped us a lot during our daughter s stay at the hospital. Thanks very much to them. And it is a superb setting very near to the hospital. Go there you will be very welcomed. The grateful French.

This place is amazing! Not far off Montlake, with a cute little pond with occasional ducks and geese, rabbits running around the grounds, and lots of green space. The rooms have everything you need including a comfortable bed, refrigerator, nice chairs, a tv of course, all the usual stuff. The carpet and shower aren't great, but the price is right and we slept well in the bed so A plus! Nice little hideaway in Seattle. Breakfast was complimentary and really very good. Checkout at noon is nice, if you want a late checkout ask when you check in as only so many are available.

Had dinner there, food was pretty good, not sure it was worth the $40 I paid to attend the banquet. Service was pretty good except the bathroom was out of paper towels and the waitress forgot to fill up my water cup.

Interesting retro modern architecture, university dormitory meets retreat center vibe if designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Relaxing manicured grounds with resident bald eagles (cool). Very charming night desk guy! Great customer service and dining recommends. Comprehensive continental breakfast with great views (Don't forget your voucher).

The wifi is spotty to non existent. I came on a business trip and wasn't able to even access email most of the time, my computer and phone connected but the speed was somehow worse than dialup. If you intend to do any work from your room, I'd suggest avoiding booking here.

Very peaceful, lovely place. Bungalow type room kind of smelled musty. Floors need replaced. 70s style wood decor needs deep cleaning. Needs a dead bolt on the door. Excellent, excellent breakfast. Comfy beds. Right next to children's hospital.

So far so good. The location is awesome the lot it sits on has 18 acres of greenery. Trees and plants every where. . The room is nothing fancy mostly just a place to sleep which was exactly what we were looking for. The experience also comes with a few bugs outside the room door. But so far I am not disappointed with our choice

Hosted our retreat here at Talaris in the Cedar Room. The room is equipped with every meeting needs. The food is delicious with lots of options for everyone. The staff is awesome to work with - especially Kim, Mario and Jordan! We'll be back next year.

This place is okay for a conference. Needs a heavy remodel in many of their lodging areas. The food is just okay, the restaurants in the surrounding areas have better hot food. They do have good salad here. Looks nice outside with the fountains and all, but the place just feels average. The staff at the dining area is nice.

The staff here was friendly and even allowed me to check in a little early which really helped. The area is quiet and close to UW and the children's hospital. There are many places to eat near by that can be reached in minutes with a rental bike which are everywhere. There is an amazing bike trail 5 minutes away to the north that I highly recommend finding and taking a ride on. Now the bad. The pond is a horrible green mud swamp with discarded cinder blocks sitting in the muck. High levels of algae give off dangerous fumes, it was a concern. The grounds are poorly kept. The room was not terrible but it could easily be better. It badly needs an update. The carpet is old dirty and stained. The bed did not have fitted sheets, they were mostly clean, but I did find the random short dark hair here and there. The worst part was the smell. It was a very strong citronella smell ( I assume to repel bugs). It seemed to be sprayed on the bed headboard and I had trouble sleeping because of it. I would stay here again, but only because I'm poor and can't afford better. With new carpet, better upkeep, real pest control, and fitted (clean?) sheets this place would be an absolute gem.

Grounds are great. There is a bald eagle nested on the property ant they even provide binoculars for guests to see it. The staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms and buildings are in desperate need of modernization, however.

Old worn out room. High prices. Cold showers. Terrible beds. If it wasn't next door to the Seattle Children's Hospital it would be completely worthless. As it is, it was just mostly worthless. I would recommend staying anywhere else if you can.

The staff is fantastic (Bob and Jordan were both incredible), and the setting is amazing. These two things alone were worth 3 stars. The rooms just need to be updated. The air didn't work, the TV didn't work, and the bathroom had neither a lock nor a fan. We would stay again if things were updated or the price was lower.

I was here for a Pediatric Sleep and Wellness Conference. The grounds were very pretty with blooming trees, a fountain in a large natural looking pond. Eagle nesting across from the luncheon building. The food buffet served for us all tasted wonderful. They even had gluten free and vegan choices for those in special diets. The snacks between breaks was great too, like fruit, homemade cookies one day and brownies the next, chips nuts, gummy bars etc. Staff very nice.

Beautiful and quiet grounds, with ample parking and easy access to most services by walking. Near university. Friendly and helpful staff, nice complimentary breakfast. Rooms are clean pleasant and quiet, not fancy and new but clean and amenitable.

Bob, the night desk guy is awesome. D'Vonne the day guy was great too. Mario in the dining room was super friendly and informative.

This is an older property with historic structures. But don't let that deter you. The grounds and convience are awesome and I found the upkeep of the property was not overlooked. Some reported funny smells, peeling paint but I didn't see any of that. The room did feel cold but it was 69 degrees in the room so I chalked it up to not being used to a humid area.

The vast grounds, ample parking and free parking, beautiful trees, ponds and ducks, a really great breakfast provided as standard, several restaurants nearby, a quiet and tranquil neighborhood, and a relatively low cost of accommodation. Where you have.
However, the internal facilities are well maintained, but it was a little old, and it was winter but it was cold because the heating was not good

Beautiful location for a conference! Plenty of NW trees and a pond and very lush vegetation. The conference rooms were spacious but still intimate. The morning breakfast and afternoon lunch had variety and nutrition along many choices. Plenty of free parking and located next to the UW campus and University Village shops.

This where Jess and I have been staying while in Seattle. It is a amazing place. Plenty of walking trails, great breakfast each morning by the lake. A little slice of peace and quiet in the middle of the city. Only noise I have heard is a emergency vehicle passing by the back side of the property.
