Nice hotel with a modern spin. Guest rooms were pretty,fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable. Wish there were more blankets, the bedding was very thin. I liked the entire hotel with the exception of the conference rooms,they were dated,musty and dark.

Beautiful hotel! The rooms are immaculate and staff is great. So many chic and beautiful details. Great technology with Netflix and Hulu available. Breakfast buffet was delicious and we will definitely stay here again!

This was my first stay at the Renaissance Southpar...

This was my first stay at the Renaissance Southpark. My husband and I came here for the annual NYE party. We had a blast. Everything was phenomenal and well planned. I will admit I was very hesitant to go with this choice because of other negative reviews across multiple sites. I almost cancelled my reservation. I'm glad we gave them a shot. All of the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond. I will return next year.

My three coworkers and I stayed at this location e...

My three coworkers and I stayed at this location earlier this week. I wish I had great things to say but unfortunately the check-in process from Keona and Marissa left much to be desired. We booked a few weeks in advance with our corporate discount and completed a mobile check-in the day prior to arrival. Typically a mobile check-in is simple and allows you to provide ID and your room key is provided quickly. I was the first to arrive and was asked to provide state ID and my employer verification to keep the corporate discount. Unfortunately I didn't travel with employee verification and was told my rate would double if I wanted to stay. I complied and paid the double rate. My coworkers checked in a little later and were given their keys with no mention of verification of employment to receive the already confirmed corporate discount. I waited in the lobby while they checked in and the process took approximately three minutes, unlike my check-in which took 15 minutes. Is it customary for some guests to provide employee verification while others are not? Or is it dependent on the sex or race of the individual? The only difference in myself and my coworkers is race and sex. We were all booked by the same company, used same method of payment however were treated vastly different.

On today, April 16th 2019, I was visiting the Renaissance hotel in Southpark, in Charlotte NC, as I do several times throughout the year. However, today was unlike any other day at the Renaissance. Today I witnessed racism and possibly the hotel staff condoning the racism. As I was getting ice on the 5th floor, Room 505 displayed character that was uncanning and unbecoming of any human being. Kandice, one of the attendees there (I remembered her name because she recently asked if I needed any thing) was at the door of 505 and when the "guest" opened the door, he greeted Kandice with racist remarks. He opened the door and proceeded to make a comment in regards to Donald Trump the current president, stating that it was OK for people of African American descent to be called the "N". He then commenced to say the "N", word several times and and whomever was in the room joined in with him saying the horrible word. I overheard a woman's voice tell them that they shouldnt say that all the time and there is a time and place for the "N" word. Wow. I was traumatized. I'm not sure how the housekeeper took the patron's saying that, I would think that she was traumatized as well. A short time later, then witnessed a gentleman grabbing cleaning supplies going into the same room, room 505. I assumed he was the manager because he attire was completely different then the attendees. I'm hoping he took care of the situation however I did not see the patrons leaving nor that I hear them being reprimanded for this behavior. Had i been a mystery shopper , the review would not have been pleasant for the Renaissance I just wanted to give you guys my feedback

Beautiful interior, the rooms are very nice too, just wish the pool stayed open longer. Staff was friendly, and helped us valet our car because there was no parking outside the parking garage and we had too high of clearance from the extra storage on top of our van.

Do not stay here; Management along with staff is not very helpful& is very Rude. Terrible experience, this hotel only cares about money and not about taking care of their guests. Save yourself the headache!

The Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark is exceptional...

The Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark is exceptional! All of the rooms are modern, extremely clean, and stylish. When booking a reservation for my group, Kate and Maja were extremely instrumental in making the reservation process seamless. Additionally, Marilyn at the front desk executed my group's check-in expeditiously while Josh assisted the group in finding their rooms. Lastly, breakfast is absolutely delicious Brandon the restaurant Manager and Chef Trivius ensured my group had a great breakfast and experience. This hotel feels like home suite home!

Customer service was not good. I think if you are...

Customer service was not good. I think if you are a minority you should avoid this location. It was noticed by several of the guest that they were treated less than. The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. Maybe they are renovated in some rooms it felt stuffy. The carpet was filthy.

Large and comfortable studio. Staff is pleasant and helpful. I do not like the fact you cannot reserve a room at the hotel, but must call or go online to Marriott. I also do not like the hotels in the business area of Charlotte charge more during the week when they have high capacity. Food in restaurant was pricey but good.

This hotel was wonderful quiet the staff was wonderful. The Maintaince man down to the front desk. The rooms was nice and clean including the bathroom. I will be booking this hotel again.Thank you for your excellent service inball areas.

Been there several times, hotel improved seen last visit. Great new room designs, well lit up with modern look and no carpet. Nice atmosphere in lobby/restaurant area as well. Comfortable stay and would book there again next time in Charlotte.

Clean and updated rooms. Gym has 2 peloton bikes (though wifi had trouble connecting). My wife is breastfeeding and was grateful that the hotel staff helped her to store her milk in the hotel deep freeze during our stay. We so appreciate it. Thank you Renaissance for going above and beyond for our family!

Service staff was extremely helpful and nice but our room had several issues. Within 2 minutes of entering the room the faucet in bathroom broke, shooting water on the ceiling and drenching me. Refrigerator didn't work and we were pestered by mosquitos the entire time we were there. A few incosistancies with room service. Told we could have 1 particular item in the restaurant but when ordering the same item via room service we were told no it couldn't be done. Called about all of these issues they only resolved the sink problem.

THE WORST EVER!!! Do not stay here if you can avoid it. The manager on duty at the time of our check in, Haley Marcus was rude, and very racist !!!! She put my whole family out for no reason..... we checked in at 830pm, it was myself and my daughters (ages 4, 12, 14) in one room and my sister, her husband ,and their two children ages 12, and 8 in room next to us. However we were there for a family reunion, everyone that was from other states stayed there and they put us all on same floor. I didn't receive a welcoming vibe from her nor the staff. Of course I over looked it because I was exhausted and ready to shower and change to go grab a bite to eat . At 845 she knocked on my door and stated we were too loud. I was confused because my 4 year old was crying (because she couldn't go downstairs with my mom) and rest of us was getting dressed . At 9:15pm Haley Marcus came back with a large amount of police officers, putting us out of the hotel.... stating that someone heard threats through the walls, then she changed her statement and said someone called , then she changed her statement again and said there was an altercation! At this time I'm really confused, because it take two for an altercation that occur! Police see my kids in the room and stated they received a call about 10 people in the room!!! Hmmmm we were there for a family reunion they put us all on one floor! Therefore, everyone was in and out of each others rooms ! Still we wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary! I had to find another hotel ! My daughters were distraught! DO NOT STAY THERE!!!! Truly the worst. Stay anywhere else - their attitude is terrible!!!! I will be calling corporate on her and beyond until she is gone! I will also be seeking a lawsuit!

Staff was friendly. Hotel had a unique layout/feel. Rooms appear freshly renovated. Sauna and fitness center were nice! Definitely a nice getaway! Booked through Priceline and got a great deal. Great quality for price.

The only negative I have to add is that the rooms don t have much of a sound barrier. The house keeping closet was outside of our room and it was loud hearing their door slam frequently. Also, could hear clanging dished from the restaurant, etc. it was likely more of an issue for us just because of room placement.

The staff was very nice and the room comfy. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows far too soft. Maybe I could have asked for firmer pillows. I don't know. One kind of annoying thing was that the TV is not centered to the bed so if there are two of you trying to watch a movie, it can be difficult. Overall nice but the price should have been a little lower.

There was a woman (and her husband) screaming and yelling on our floor all night, and the hotel didn't make her leave until 3am! No sleep was had that night. The hotel didn't reimburse us in any way. I don't think that they were prepared to handle the situation

This is one of my favorite places to stay in the C...

This is one of my favorite places to stay in the Charlotte NC area, walking distance to South Park Mall.
My only complaint with my last visit 7/31/19 was the roudy guest on the 5th floor. They fought, played loud music, and slammed doors up until 4am.
I called the front desk to report the disturbance only to be told security would be sent up to investigate. On the third occurrence the front desk stated security came up but didnt find anything this time they would sit on the floor to see if anything else occurred. Nothing else occured but I lost sleep behind these inconsiderate guest.

Room and hotel are lovely and front desk was on point. However, I was put in room 146 and it is in the hallway you have to go to get to the gym or pool. They also have working closets/restrooms on that hallway. So there was talking every night and even more in the morning. Doors closing. Lots of foot traffic. I was woken up both days before 8am. Finally just moved to another hotel.

I was working an event as an external vendor. No real interaction with the hotel except when I got hungry and went to canteen. They charged $3!! for a basic Snickers bar!! Walking to a store was out of the question. That didn't sit well with me...I get it that convenience prices are higher but that's ridiculous.

Eye roll, They are fixing the entrance so it was super hard to tell which door to enter in. Once we found a door to go in it was locked.... knocked until someone opened it, the manger greeted us by saying entrance was at the other door, yes arrows all around but just not clear in the dark I might add. 5am leaving for the airport, the parking lot is filled with people chatting away, also area was well litt at this point making the entrance much more clear. Would have been helpful at 11pm the night before!

Very poor service. Room was small compared to other similar brand..even with an upgraded exec suite. Tub dirty..keys not ready and key machine down..no towels ready..no sheets for sofabed.spoke with manager Alex who tried to make excuses for poor service and did nothing. Not renaissance brand service.
Wont be coming to this location again.

Terrible stay. Management did not respond to things hurting the guests staying there. No a/c. Kids running & screaming in hallway till 11 at night. I complained about room being hot & muggy & was told to go outside to cool off. Kids screaming in lounge on 1st floor were so loud I could hear them in my room - 539. Written complaint to Manager requested a $50 Gift Card for their lounge. Actusl cost to hotel would have been about $15. Received no response. Tip I left for room cleaning staff was larger than the $15. 3 hotels nearby for $60-85 less per night are Courtyard, Residence Inn, and Doubletree - have same star rating as this place. Would not recommend due to performance of their management.

Extremely disappointed in the service after many prior stays here. The indoor "heated" pool was ice cold. The television signal went in and out, audio only. The restaurant still had the 'wait to be seated sign' but was actually closed before their published time (on a busy Friday night). The valet and front desk clerk were not friendly at check in. A real shame.

Nicely decorated reception hall, passed appetizers were ok, good buffet, quick and friendly bartender. Tables were aggressively cleared - many of us were not able to finish a drink or dessert before wait staff took it away (they snagged stuff while we were busy talking or taking pictures)

Modern, attractive hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. Free coffee in the lobby, but there is a charge for wifi. The hotel restaurant is pretty good if you don't want to go out for dinner.
