Warm and welcoming staff, nice touch of drinks and snacks in evening. Rooms are spacious and I had nice balcony to lounge. Only complain is they did not service my online request for bath amenities

Unfortunately I can't give this hotel the rating I would have liked, due to the bad experience I had.

The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are just fine. The bed isn't hard, but isn't particularly comfortable either.

My husband and I ordered room service for breakfast (they call it Al la carte), and we had to call after it was 15 minutes late. They apologized and rushed it up. But in rushing it up my toasted croissant sandwich was very burnt and greasy.

Our biggest complaint was the noise level. We chose a hotel that was a little pricey because we wanted a nice, quiet stay. However, the room next to us was full of drunk women who were blasting music and cackling loudly. I called downstairs to see if they could remedy the situation. Noise continued for another 20 minutes and we decided it was best if we just head home.

The man at the desk apologized and asked if we wp uld like another room, but at that point the night had been ruined.

Slept Great and wonderful Breakfast!! We got in late. Staff very helpful and got well settled and had toothbrushes and toothpaste which we needed. Room was clean and very comfortable. We will be staying here again !!!!

We stay here at least twice a year every year for the last 10 years. Great service, beautiful and clean hotel. This weekend there was no hot water..not a big deal. Hopefully it was an isolated incident.

I am very disappointed in this hotel (Renaissance Charlotte South Park). I am a Platinum Elite Member with Marriott and a Veteran of the Armed Forces. This year alone i have stayed over 100 nights with Marriott. I booked my hotel tonight at the Renaissance Charlotte South Park at my government rate and didn't have my ID with me . The representative onsite (Alex) would not let me check in without showing my ID despite a call from the customer service department. I showed her a State Government ID and she wanted to see a Federal ID....She was very Nasty!!!! In five years this is the first time I have experienced this type of customer service with Marriott...I've always had 5 star service with Marriott that's why I only book at Marriott Hotels...As a Veteran I'm not expecting preferential treatment I was only looking for customer service......I told her I wouldn't lie about being in the Military and she responded "there has been about 10 people who lied today"....I'm not going to stop here! I want to be heard because I have spent thousands of dollars with Marriott and felt she could have at least called a manager to see if he or she would allow me to check in as a courtesy. I am going to follow-up with the General Manager tomorrow along with posting on the Military Website for Off-Site Housing. Also, I am going to make make a formal complaint with Marriott.

The Renaissance was absolutely fabulous. The room was clean and pristine. The service was great. I enjoyed breakfast and yes there is a bar. I did not utilize the bar because I do not drink but it was nice. This place has everything you need while away from home.

We were visiting family in Charlotte over Christma...

We were visiting family in Charlotte over Christmas and decided to stay at the Renaissance. We were underwhelmed except for Danny and the AV guy (we didn't get his name). Both men were extremely pleasant and helpful with our questions. Danny radiates warmth and hospitality and and we were wondering why he isn't in charge overall! This was in stark contrast to the front desk as they seemed somewhat indifferent to being there and we were the only people in the lobby. However, the second night seemed to be better as the front desk seemed more eager to greet guests. Additionally, my husband requested a robe twice and neither time was it brought to the room and we were also perplexed about the restaurant. It was crickets, even though we were told it was open (this on the 26th). Not a soul was in sight and I think it was closed, but no sign was displayed. We stood around finally concluding we were not going to get service and if we did we felt that it was not going to be good given that no one was around and that a sign was not posted. Last note, I used the mouthwash noticing that a little bit had been used and that the seal was broken, assuming my husband had used it. Nope. I asked him and he told me he had not used it. Yikes. If one is going to be in the hospitality industry, they need to take notes from Danny.

Nice hotel and good location but the staff are far from friendly. Every time I stay there and I'm Platinum, I have to prove who my employer is. What a pain, you'd think they'd get to know you.

Stayed 2 nights/3 days here for a business function. The staff was excellent to say the least! Very helpful and friendly and I thought that the decor choices for the rooms were interesting but neat.

4/5 stars only because I ended up being highly allergic to something in the air and from the floor throughout the whole hotel but particularly the lobby area and conference room area. I know that there was a lot of construction and renovations that had taken place prior to my stay, but during my stay I experienced an allergic reaction in the form of deep congestion, headaches and my entire face was swollen and puffy. I would still stay here again and will recommend it because everything else was great, but because of my allergy- ilI be weary to coming back. I'd like to mention that I was only one person out of our large group to have experienced that, so as to not discourage people to stay. I'm sure that once they get everything renovated and finished this will no longer be able to issue - at least I'd like to think that.

Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable, made you feel like you were at home. Room was spacious. Lobby was inviting, with chairs and sofas surrounding a fountaim in the middle of the building, making it a perfect place to relax. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Charolette area.

Don't be fooled by the trendy look. This hotel is DIRTY. Hair and stains are everywhere. From the sheets to the towels and even the ceiling and shower of the bathroom. It's disgusting. Housekeeping take a lot of short cuts and it's at the expense of your own health. Buyer be ware!!

Lovely hotel. The absolute greatest hotel staff. We had a 3 night stay. Our room was perfection, well styled. Just wish to have more light at the Gorgeous floor length mirror.... a little too dim. That was my only dislike. I give you guys 5 . Breakfast was the most. Missing it all like now.

Absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Location was great. Common areas were beautiful and my room superceded my expectations. Stay in a King Executive. Perfect relaxing and/or entertaining in living room area.

This hotel is beautiful. The customer service is not.
It seems that the hotel staff does not believe anything the guests says even though it can be verified.
When we stayed at this hotel there were guests with a dog. i am sure this is frowned up, however it happened.
The front desk called the room where I was with my guest and asked and I informed them that we DID NOT have a dog and to check another room.
Instead of housekeeping checking the room where the sound came from they charged us for the dog. I could very well make this racial, but I don't want to do this. They were so rude and condescending about handling this. I will never (i am sure they don't care) stay at this location or will I recommend it to anyone else.

BEWARE of unsecured parking lot & deck. This hotel & staff are nice however with this property being a 4 star hotel you would think they d make the safety of their guests priority. My car was broken into while parked in deck 3-24-19. I was unable to park inside of the deck due to spaces being blocked by various boxes and debris within the interior of the parking deck.

Didn't get to stay. Made reservations three months in advance for business trip and was told they didn't have a room when we went to check in. Was sent across town to place that wasn't near as nice. Will never make reservations here again and would not recommend anyone else to either unless you want to hear there's no room in the inn.

went to book the $115 room, and after taxes its advertised at $134, when booking it it shows $194, i called the hotel to ask about the difference in prices and the customer service rep stated it was none of my concern

Stayed one night for a business trip. Choosing my room via the app was very easy, as was check in and check out. The staff was very friendly, and the room was nice, clean, and spacious. The TV in the mirror is a nice touch! Will be back.

Called a day in advance to request my reservation. I was told my request could not be accommodated when I arrived. After having to move to 3 times due to cleanliness and smell of rooms, mysteriously what I asked for was available. I decided to settle because I was exhausted but hair was in the shower floor. Room lacked toiletries. Overall the room design was nice I liked the location but was not pleased with how the front desk received me on my arrival. In the morning staff was very nice.

Checked in and was not pleased with the service I received upon arrival. Changed rooms 3 times due to cleanliness and smell. Was told no King rooms and after being placed 2 times mysteriously I was assigned a King room. Still hair in the shower floor missing toiletries like toothpaste mouthwash at that point I was already exhausted and didn t feel like moving again. Overall the design of the room was nice and the hotel is in a great location. Staff in the morning were very nice. I expect better service and cleanliness of rooms especially during this time.

We took our daughter here for a birthday getaway and purchased the American Girl package . The staff went above and beyond to make this a wonderful experience . The room was clean and comfy . The breakfast Buffett was great with lots of choices . We highly recommend them and will definitely visit again .

I stayed here while visiting family in Charlotte and was really impressed with the property. I was greeted the moment I walked in and was checked in quickly, offered a glass of wine and then given a brief tour guided to the elevator. That extra step upon check in was really above and beyond. My room was very spacious everything was clean and modern and the bed was heavenly. The mall is across the street and you are surrounded with other restaurants and shopping near by as well. I requested room service for breakfast and it was prompt at the time requested and the meal was good. The second evening instead of wine there were chocolates and champagne in the lobby. I also had a chance to stop by the bar and the staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. This was a great stay and if I can sneak away from family I will definitely stay here again. I appreciate the attention to small details that were shown by the staff, those things make this hotel stand apart.
