Staff are very friendly and the business lounge has pretty good offerings. Rooms are up to date and modern with TVs along the use of Netflix (BYO subscription). As other reviews have stated the walls are thin, you can hear conversations from Neighboring rooms

I stayed here for three nights and the experience was up and down. I arrived early and they had no problem getting me a room. The first day conference rooms felt like it was snowing inside the building. The bathroom on the lobby soap was out for two days. The rooms however were really nice and spacious. I loved the bathroom and bed was comfy. Overall the building was a lil old but the food served was dope! The wifi was spotty but the lobby was really comfortable

Stayed for a weekend with my wife. For the price it wasn't worth it. They advertised $99.00 per night, but that was only the first night. The second night was $123.00 after taxes and everything the total was $253.55. The A/C in the room couldn't hold the temperature, there was no microwave in the room, the fridge had trouble keeping things cold. The bed was uncomfortable and felt like it sunk in lower at the head. For the price they charged they could have at least offered a complimentary breakfast. I have had better stays at less expensive hotels. I won't spend my money at this or any Marriott property again.

Came just to meet family for breakfast before they left town. Though they offer a full breakfast menu, I took in the buffet and was very pleased with the options. They have an omelette station, self-service waffle irons, and plenty of options to please any picky eater. I was also impressed with the atmosphere given the fact that they were currently renovating.

Good property. Room was updated. But dining room and lobby and especially elevators show their age. Pool is really just for family dips. Not lap swimming. Gym is terribly small and not at high standards. Rolling foam was very very old and squishy and had no mats.

Great stay, clean room,mgt very accommodating,good brkfst (not just waffles & fruit) located close to shopping and several restaurants will be staying with them again....(wife enjoyed locality of the shopping)

Maybe if you book through them directly it isn t as horrid, but don t you dare book through a third party. They treat you as though you re slum walking in from off the street and don t care to assist you. Customer service is AWFUL!!!!!

I called to add my friend to the reservation, the employee cut me off and said, I can t help you with that, you ll have to contact the 3rd party you booked with directly. Bye. That is not customer service! Maybe, I m sorry mam, unfortunately I can t assist you with that since you booked through a 3rd party- you ll have to contact them directly.

I don t know if they were stressed with the NCAA busyness or if a lot of people were staying there for that bar crawl or whatever but there is no excuse for how rude and unhelpful every single person I dealt with was. Absurd. If you are rude to 3rd party bookers...maybe..idk... don t let people book with anyone but you? Just a thought.

Our stay at this property ended badly on Mother s Day.
My Mothers Day gift that was left in the room while loading the car went missing. We immediately went back to the room and housekeeping was already in the room. Actually, they were waiting to come into the room before we left. The hotel took NO accountability and treated us as if we had done something wrong. I was just told today, June 4th, 2019 that my claim was denied. There was never a We re sorry that this happened during your stay . This property has a problem that they either won t or can t address with their staff. Please be mindful of what happened to us if you choose to stay here. This was so disappointing for the South Park area and South Park Mall.
I don t think my stay here is deserving of a star, but I have to choose a star as a rating in order to leave this post.

The air in the room didn't work very well but thankfully, I packed a fan. The room also smelled musty and our sheets had holes. I would except this from a lower class hotel/motel but not this one. Outside of our room is extremely nice though. Just wish that would have flowed into our room.

I stayed here on and off over the course of a couple years and always had an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly and the hotel rooms are clean. For elite members, the lounge is nice. It's a great hotel in a nicer area.

The location of this hotel is great. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful. My room and the entire hotel was very clean and beautiful. I look forward to staying here the next time I m in Charlotte

Great location, near everything in SouthPark. The rooms were very clean and fairly nice, although they are in the middle of renovating so I am sure they'll be even nicer soon. Service was great! The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and nice!

Not very positive. Found glasses outside the door upon arrival. Fixtures in the bathroom were broken, paint was coming off the door. Not what I expected for the area where the hotel is located.

Stayed over for a short night. Room was spacious and nice but seemed not been used for awhile a bit of dusty....our room was on second floor facing the courtyard which was a bit of noisy in the early morning. As a 4-stat hotel, I was hoping it could have been better:) Overwall, a decent stay!

The hotel sits in a great location of Charlotte. Safe, quite, and about 15-20 minute from uptown Charlotte. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are beautiful, and mostly modernized. The lobby has a small store by the check in desk and there is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is normally a buffet that is about $20. They serve eggs, bacon, fresh fruits and other foods as well. The hotel has a business center as well as a swimming pool and a peaceful outside area where you can sit and have a conversation or eat with a friend. The outside area has about two or three big trees that help to create shade when the sun is out. Very nice place suggest you CHECK in and CHECK it out.

Lounge / restaurant area was nice, however rooms were outdated. Front desk staff were not eager to please, one could almost say unfriendly. I definitely didn't feel welcomed when I first arrived. Restaurant staff was extremely pleasant. I would expect a lot more from a Renaissance.

This is a mixed review. Some good. Some not so goo...

This is a mixed review. Some good. Some not so good. It's a nice place to stay, but it does come up short in a few ways.

The property is spotless from lobby to bar and restaurant to meeting rooms and personal hotel lodging rooms. Bathroom and rooms are spotless. Very clean and well-kept property.

Restaurant has some nice selections, and reasonably priced.

Hotel rooms are very adequate. Nice chair and foot rest, bed and linens. Great desk.
The bathrooms are also quite nice: lots of hot water, clean everywhere, and shower head worked well with lots of pressure. Also lots of towels.

Here are a few things I found less-than-adequate:

1. Internet is $14.99 a day. What? This is 2017 right? McDonalds has free wi-fi. For room rates around $140 and up you don't get free wifi?? This is a serious drawback and would make me think twice about staying again.
2. No security in garage. No cameras anywhere. Guess what: 3 cars broken into during my stay (that I know of) and one was mine. No security footage to help identify bad guys. No security cameras to help prevent break-ins. I guess the bad guys know this. My house has security. This hotel doesn't? Now the hotel went out of heir way to help me after the break-in, so one of major assets of this hotel is the staff. Maxwell (Max) Chick deserves Employee of the Year. He turned a bad situation into tolerable. I made it to all my appointments and meetings because of Max. He arranged transportation for me at least 3 times until my rental car could be replaced. He had his staff vacuum glass out of car and put in temporary plastic. He minimized my inconvenience and enabled me to do my work during this crisis. Thanks, Max!!!
3. Their cable or Direct TV or whatever service they use for service in rooms is marginal. They only offer a few stations, and 3 are 7x24 fitness product infomercials. TNT never worked. Main ESPN (ESPN) never worked. Rest of stations were very limited.

Alex, manager on duty, was extremely rude. My fiance booked our stay. I usually do it for us. We had a problem with our reservation and she did not try to resolve the issue. She made me feel embarrassed because she was extremely loud and other guests could overhear our conversation. I thought I would be treated with respect since we are apart of the Marriott loyalty program and I always book at Marriott locations. I'm debating on switching brands and trying the Hyatt or Hilton. Perhaps, they would value my status or just treat me kind because that's the right thing to do. I would not recommend this property based on the hospitality. There's better hotels in the area that provide world class service. AVOID THIS HOTEL!

Nice hotel. Free parking. Amazing location that's within walking distance to everything you could need. Every staff member that we met was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The amenities were small but well appointed. I really enjoyed the patio and the area around the fountain. The gym was relatively large and had a modern feel. The pool is indoors and very small. The depth was 4-5ft.

We had a king room on the 7th floor. The room was spacious and clean. There was a fridge. The only downside about the room was the smell; it smelled moldy. It was bad enough that we changed rooms. Unfortunately, the new room also smelled moldy but it wasn't nearly as strong as the first one.
